San Francisco Bar & Club in Burgwallen-Oude Zijde

The security guard at the door was incredibly rude to us. We were four women and one man, and we walked in with a cheerful vibe. The man gave us an attitude for no reason and left us standing outside in the wind without making any attempt to let us in. He was a truly rude guy. I've never experienced anything like this before.

Truly an experience I've never had in Amsterdam. The doorman... we wanted a nice evening, and he completely ruined it. We stood at the door to let ourselves in, and he simply wouldn't let us in. Don't let this ruin your evening.

On Friday night, a group of seven of us decided to go to the San Francisco Club, but we had a problem because the person, of unidentified gender, who was deciding who could enter did not allow us in, even though there was space. When I asked for the reason why we couldn’t enter, since groups similar to ours were being let in, that person commented that the reason was because we are ‘rich white boys and girls'.

Nice cocktails and vibes - music was definitely a bit too dull and pretentioua but hoping a different night provides different results!

Okay. I did sit on the floor BUT that was by choice. Music - yes. Atmosphere - yes. People - YES! It was a very busy night - not too much seating but very good energy and non pretentious crowd. May need to go back tomorrow before I fly out!

Great low-key bar to hang out and relax. The Negroni is a standout, but honestly, all the cocktails are really well made. It’s usually filled with young people, giving it a lively yet casual vibe. Plus, the prices are very reasonable, which makes it even easier to keep coming back.

the bouncer was a rude jerk who told me I was on pills when all I had done that night was eat melanzane and drink tea.

Although it is by far the best club in downtown Amsterdam, the bouncer and especially the security are one of the rudest that exists in this town. The long bearded security guy made fun of us when we asked some questions about the bar. And then switched to an aggressive tone right away. As if he is going to assult us or smt. Thug behaviour. We were ALLOWED inside anyways. But, it is a shame cause you don't expect these type of situations when you go to a bar/club. Especially in MOKUM. You are a customer and you need to be treated correctly. Although the bar & event itself is quite fun, this kills all your vibe. I wouldn't dare to spend money and energy for this kind of behaviohr. P.s. I know they have been at the door for 8 hours but then they should get another job and leave this important task to some good people.

Best bar in the downtown Amsterdam!! Really nice vibe and music there, Coctels amazing and good beer, recommend if you like cool stuff :)

Great Place to grab a drink, went there on a Thursday was a decent vibe. Would highly recommend the Spicy Margarita and Olives. Overall a 8/10 experience

Quite likely the coolest spot in Amsterdam for bar/dancing! Beautifully decorated space, even more beautiful are the custom made speakers and subs. The produce sourcing is so exciting; Georgian wines and spirits in cocktails?! If you come, you’d likely stay until they close!

Nice place for drinks and an occasional dance. It opens until late which makes it an interesting location. Is also not particularly touristy or annoyingly full.

Girl at the door was really rude for no reason, we didn’t even get a chance to say something we were just said no to even if our friends were already inside. No idea what was the problem, we got said we don’t belong and she was straight away aggressive to the friend already insde only because he wanted to find out what’s the problem. Wouldn’t recommend, might ruin your experience in Amsterdam and in the essence Ama iis promoting. Been living here for two years, first time experiencing something so random, discriminating and sexist.

What a nice spot. Vibes are good, and everyone is super friendly. The intimate atmosphere is boosted by the sound system, mood lights, service and guests that are there. Keep it up! See you next week

Place is ridiculous. The place has a very weird policy where “groups larger than 2 people are not allowed to enter”. This unfortunately only holds true for men… women are more than welcome to come in. If you come with your friends, I recommend bringing a coloring book so you have something to do while wasting your night out

The type of place you go when you want to go out for curated music and drinks but don’t feel like going to a club. Nice alternative international crowd. I really like the monthly programming with local and international DJs, cocktails, and natural wines.

A bar where people go to stand and unfortunately have to listen to the terrible music that brings the whole vibe down. Pretentious, boring and after 12:00 it’s a laughable 10€ entry

The hostess was very arrogant and unfriendly. Terrible service inside, after standing at the bar for 20 minutes I was finally able to order my drink. The staff behind the bar wasn't friendly either. I would never come back here and don't recommend this bar to anyone.

If you still have the dance spirit and you want to go out after 5 then this is the place you need to be. Always an afterparty there. Friendly and helpfull employees and the best bouncer. Go and see for yourself.
