Extremely delicious dim sum and other Chinese delicacies. From around 1700 p.m. completely booked, we were there at lunchtime and got a table straight away. Really extremely tasty food in a beautiful atmosphere.

Authentic Chinese cuisine. We were there on a sunday dinner for the dim sum. All were very good and tasty. But, vegetarian options are not enough. The menu is limited too. In contrast to traditional interior design, the novelty of robot service is interesting.

A beautiful place, with great service and delicious food and cocktails. The duck with the pancakes was the best I ever had. Dumplings are amazing. Three of us ate (a lot) and had drinks for like 30 euros pp. Will definitely come back!

I am quite selective with my Chinese food and Sea Palace was delicious. All the dimsum is hand made in the restaurant and you could tell by the taste. The Peking duck was perfectly crunchy. Seafood Palace satisfied my family’s Chinese dood craving!

Lovely atmosphere & views. However the food was completely lacking flavour. Won’t come back as there are better Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. A pity because the vibe there is really cool

The view was the best part. The service was the worst as we ended up waiting for 2 hours for all dishes (4 menus and 2 dishes) to arrive and it is after constantly reminding the staff about our order. Food was fine, but the peking duck was too fat (one of my friends ended up sick in stomach), white rice was too bland (at least some salt, sesame seed oil would do). Overall, was very unpleasant experience.

We came to Sea Palace tonight with the family. We were visiting from the UK and chose to book this restaurant after many great reviews and recommendations. The restaurant is very majestic to look at but that’s where the positives end. Very poor service from the start, mediocre tasting food and inflated prices. Not to mention they forgot my wife’s main meal and promised it will come soon and after 30 mins we decided to cancel her order. The manager apologised (after finally coming to our table on the third time of asking) and gave a 20% discount off the total bill. Overall a very poor experience and wouldn’t recommend visiting this restaurant when in Amsterdam

The food is delicious, but there are not many options.

Great menu for two persons (the duck was the best!) and a table including a view to the water, wonderful! We loved spending a few hours here. A reservation is recommended.

Very good food was there 37 years ago and again Nov 2024 place looked just as I remembered it. Friendly staff.

Come for the experience, stay for the good service and decent food – but don't expect top value. For sure the real draw here is the outlandish decor and setting, and you pay for that, with our filling meal coming to about €45/head including 2 drinks each and a tip. The food probably isn't worth that price alone, but we found it surprisingly solid and consistent across meat, fish and veggie dishes. And sadly these days in Amsterdam that's not an unusual price. Cucumber salad no longer on the menu, which is a shame as there are no other fresh alternatives to cut through these mostly quite heavy, oily dishes. Still, I would definitely come back!

Floating restaurant serving typical Chinese cuisine a stone's throw from Amsterdam central station, exquisite dishes, good beer, a huge choice of dishes and very fast service. Ordering via QR code is very convenient. Great view of the canal and city, worth the stop.

I had the shrimp dumplings and pork bao buns, which were very tasty and not expensive. I've had better ones before, but for this price you certainly can't complain. Service was good and staff friendly. I found the homemade Iced Tea to be on the sweet side. Very efficient to order food and drinks via a QR code, but unfortunately this means less contact with staff. Furthermore, a unique tent in a beautiful location with a fantastic view and super cool interior.

We had dinner there with a large group of ladies (17 ladies to be precise). At first we were given 2 round tables that were somewhat closed off from each other and we didn't find it very cozy. We raised this and another option was immediately prepared for us to meet our wishes. Because it was a large group, we could choose a package of 3 or 4 courses. We chose 3 and it was more than enough! We got so much food and it was delicious. One of the ladies is a vegetarian and she was given dishes suitable for her. The chicken and meat were also halal, which was nice for the Muslim women in the group. The service was so great and the staff is very open and friendly. Definitely recommended!

Delicious food. The Peking duck with pancakes was really delicious. It's amazing how it is cut for you on the spot. The only downside was ordering with the QR code and tablet, which was not very easy. But all in all, the service was friendly and the food was on the table in no time. Definitely recommended!

1. Food We ordered four menus for a group of six, expecting a proper meal for everyone. Instead, we were served shared plates that seemed more like a joke than a dining experience—barely enough for four. The quality of the food was highly questionable. Out of six people, three suffered stomach issues within 30 minutes. To make matters worse, the dirty state of the toilets suggested we weren’t the only ones with such concerns. As for taste? The mango cheesecake was, without exaggeration, the most revolting dessert I’ve ever encountered. One plate of duck was acceptable, while the other was excessively fatty. The dumplings were the only saving grace, and even they were just “fine.” 2. Service The service was shockingly poor. Despite the restaurant being practically empty, we were told to wait an hour for a table. When we returned, the second host couldn’t even find our reservation. It was only after insisting that it suddenly “appeared,” and we were finally seated. The staff’s attitude was beyond rude. For instance, when the waitress brought the wrong iced tea, we politely asked for it to be changed, only for her to roll her eyes at us. Such unprofessionalism is unacceptable. 3. Atmosphere The interior is admittedly charming, which is the only reason I’m giving this place even one star. But good decor doesn’t make up for terrible food, poor service, and an overall dreadful experience.

Nice and unique place with tasty food and beautiful atmosphere. The self-driving trays that support the staff are also funny. So recommended. (don't forget to book in advance!)

But what a great discovery. Very friendly waitress. Delicious dishes. Nice place and atmosphere. I went there to book for the evening (6 p.m.). Do it just in case because the online reservations were full and in the end there was space. It's quite expensive but you know that before going there.

Angry and pushy waitress complains we order too slow after 3 minutes. Not that fast to serve, though she demands tip. Food is basic: fried rice, dry and bland. Atmosphere was nice until bad service ruined it (not enjoyable while in a hurry).

The pecking duck is outstanding, on the pricier side but absolutely worth it. The dim sum and noodles were nice too, but the duck is just on another level. Must try.

Review: 2.5/5 The Sea Palace offers a unique and impressive setting, but our experience was somewhat disappointing. We had to wait 35 minutes for a fairly simple order, which was frustrating. The yakitori, although flavorful, arrived cold, which took away from the enjoyment. The service, while friendly, was quite basic and didn’t stand out in any way. As for the food, it was good, but unfortunately, the high prices don’t match the overall quality of the experience. It’s an interesting place to visit for the ambiance, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

I experienced a late dinner. Upon arrival, it turned out that a prior reservation was required, but we were admitted by the restaurant staff, so thank you The restaurant has a Michelin rating and is worth a try for Arab tourists to approach the cooking method that is familiar to us about Chinese food Requests Noodles with shrimp. This may be the best time I have ever tasted noodles. It is very worth a try Szechuan chicken is very special and worth trying. There are two other dishes whose names I don’t remember, but I will come back to taste the shrimp fried rice because I saw that most of the attendees ordered it. The restaurant was the best meal I had in Amsterdam ❤️

The Sea Palace is certainly one of the best Asian restaurants I have ever eaten at. Certainly the hostess could be more welcoming but how can we not end up being "worn out" by all these customers who arrive without having made a reservation... the cuisine is delicious and the "prestige" menu deserves its name. After 20 minutes of having the typical aperitif at the bar (a glass of young Jenever and a Heineken) while waiting for a table to become available, we are seated in a beautiful setting, in the middle of a mainly...Asian clientele. The order is made using the phone and a QRCode. Excellent dim sum and memorable Peking duck! Everything was good and served hot. Dessert (a mango cheesecake) was served to us by a waiter accompanied by a robot, StarWar style... Of course, it cost us €45 per head, but we were full and had a great time. I therefore highly recommend this restaurant, where you must...reserve!

The best Asian restaurant I've come across! The dishes are fine and perfectly cooked. Many people reserve to secure a table. The bartenders are very friendly while waiting and the room service is done with very efficient robots. The flowers are fresh and neat. The decoration is typical. I recommend for a great evening

We initially ordered dim sums, and what came? Appetizers served lukewarm to cold. An absolute disgrace! Of course I let her go back. And then? A smaller portion was brought back - at least hot, but that was probably the minimum of professionalism. But the real low point came with the main course: half a boneless Peking duck. This was also served lukewarm, almost cold. 31 euros for a lukewarm duck? This is a bad joke. When I pointed this out to the waitress, instead of being taken seriously, I was insulted: I was the only guest who complained about it. Oh – so my “feeling of heat” is the problem, and not the poor quality of the kitchen? Ridiculous. I've never experienced anything so outrageous. The two of us paid almost €90 for this hassle. Absolutely unacceptable. Once and never again!

Its mostly i did not like the Chinese cuisine; but also the quality of the food did not impress me for its price.. The atmosphere and decoration are great.

Peking duck or dumplings the place to go to

Thought is the Hong Kong descendant who open this magnificent restaurant supposed to be Cantonese cuisine but who knows all dishes are extremely salty with too much salt and sauce . After many days in Paris follows by Amsterdam where supposes to have lots of honk kong immigrants here but kind of disappointed about the food taste. Service is swift despite crowded. The supervisor who serve us able to speak very fluent English with British accent. Substandard fry noodle, ok with BBQ char siew, too salty on veggie, not bad for Kong Bao chicken dice. Price is acceptable comparing with Singapore where I come from.

Best dim sum in Amsterdam! I was surprised that they still serve it after 5 PM. Walked in on a Monday around 5 without reservation. Green tea tiramisu is definitely a must try.

This Chiness restaurant is located in a beautiful location in Amsterdam. This restaurant has a Michelin listing and has amazing food. Not the standard Chinese home-garden kitchen, but truly special dishes and flavors. The price is high but in line with the location and quality.

A bib gourmand from Michelin….made a reservation full of expectations but unfortunately went home disappointed. So uninspired and simple in terms of cuisine and very limited choice. Order via a QR code, dirty plates that remain on the table for 25 minutes. The staff is friendly and does their best, but you really don't have to go here for the food. Then there are many better Chinese restaurants in the city.

Landmark (or watermark, as the palace is on a big house boat in Amsterdam harbour) restaurant in central Amsterdam. The visually stunning and sensually overloading. Despite being a natural tourist magnet the quality of the food is high. The dishes are really tasty and authentic. The service is somewhat rushed and unpersonal and you have to order everything from your phone using a QR code. But the quality and the experience fully makes up for that. And the prices are really fair.

Been here before for dim sum. But it seems like the quality has gone down but the price has gone up. Service forgot the condiments and didn't bring them until halfway through the evening. The blonde lady who welcomed us was nice. In addition, there was a hair on my food. Really super disgusting. The drinks are lukewarm and the beer not cold.

The Sea Palace is an extraordinary experience! The duck was very tasty and we were impressed by the entire menu. The atmosphere is particularly impressive: a floating Chinese restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam – that alone makes the visit something special. The service is also good, and the service robot brings a modern, fun touch. A must for anyone who wants to enjoy authentic food in a unique atmosphere in Amsterdam!

We got in after about a 10 minute wait without a reservation on a busy Sunday evening in early November. The menu is only available via a QR code & they have Wi-Fi so that was no problem. The problem was deciding what to order. We ended up getting the signature menu. I can't remember what dim sum we got but they were very good. They have a crunchy chile sauce that's wonderful, it's not hot at all. The Kung pao was my favorite main dish, especially with the crunchy chile. The duck was a close second. The fried rice & prawns were very good. All of the dishes were things we could get in the States. We had enough to take some back to our hotel room. Which was good because we were jet lagged, so when we woke up at 2:30am in Amsterdam it was our dinner time back home. Or lunch. My timing is still off, as I'm writing this at our hotel waiting for our cruise to start a couple days later. Anyway, it's a great location by the central station & not far from the hotel. It was 118 euros so more than that in USD. It's Amsterdam, don't expect bargain basement prices. The waiter was very nice & helpful but he was busy so he didn't come around as often as we're used to back home. I don't blame him for the 3 star service rating - maybe that's par for the course in Europe? Anyway, the food was great & we were satiated.

We were pleasantly surprised, at first we had expected a tourist trap but the food proved us wrong. The only thing that takes some getting used to is the issue of ordering via mobile phone, which is not immediately obvious.

Disappointed!! We saw the restaurant from a canal tour and thought the architecture looked really impressive and thought it would be good for our evening meal for our party. Unfortunately this was where the moment ended. The menu was expensive but we thought we would treat ourselves while on our break. The assistant that booked us in seemed grumpy, our server didn't seem friendly to start with but got a little better toward the end of the meal. Our food was cold and arrived in dribs and drabs. Our friends rice arrived quite some time before their meal. The food is served by robots which is a gimmick as they park up with the food and sit there waiting to be unloaded. We wished we had gone elsewhere and would advise others to do the same. Looks good but that's all.

When here on a Monday as walk ins, they were so busy and all tables were full. We were told to wait for about 10 minutes. However the food was served quickly after ordering. The waiter, male, local, white, with tattoo, so I forgot his name, was very helpful and spoke English well. The food was good, and expensive, however I feel all restaurants in Amsterdam are more expensive than in the UK.

Customer experience fell short despite decent food and a great view We had a reservation at 12:00 with the notification to leave at 14:00. Even with this, we found ourselves in a long line, and a waiter, in a rude, almost aggressive tone, told us, “this is what everyone is doing.” While dining, I wrote part of this review, and a waiter approached to argue, saying it wasn’t fair to review before trying the food and that the rating was too low. Despite explaining the situation, there was no apology; instead, he continued to confront me, although more politely than the person at the entrance. As for the food, it was decent but slightly overpriced for what it was. My noodles with beef, however, were a bit too oily for my taste, lacking enough fresh vegetables and beef. Portions were satisfying, and the view was amazing. Unfortunately, most waiters seemed quite abrupt, which to me feels like a dealbreaker in a restaurant. The exception was the kind waiter who explained the electronic menu to us at the beginning—he really left a positive impression, although later confrontations about the review brought us back to reality. My issue isn’t with the door policy or discussing reviews; it’s the abrupt and confrontational attitude we experienced.

The duck is their highlight and the menu is extensive. Your stomach will be full! And food is more affordable than you might expect. Service was a little slow given how big and crowded the place was. Friendly staff nevertheless. Best Chinese I’ve had in the Netherlands.

This is such a cool restaurant floating in the canal in the heart of Amsterdam, just a minute from Central Station. A must if you’re lucky enough to get a table!

Lavishly decorated Cantonese restaurant is floating on IJ Bay next to the Amsterdam central station. It has a comparatively short menu but good quality of food. It features some Chinese cocktails such as lychee matini. A great place for a weekend brunch with nice view of waterfront.

After reading several glowing reviews about Sea Palace, I had high expectations for an exceptional dining experience in a unique location. Unfortunately, my visit was far from satisfying. While the floating restaurant’s décor and initial ambiance were impressive, reminiscent of traditional Chinese architecture, this is where the positives end. The food, which is the heart of any restaurant, was extremely overpriced and mediocre at best. Every dish lacked depth and genuine flavor, leaving me and my guests quite underwhelmed. It became clear very quickly that we were paying for the novelty of the location rather than the quality of the cuisine. The service was also disappointing. We were advised to order all our dishes together, yet the food arrived one dish at a time. There were four of us, and at least one person was always left waiting, making it impossible to enjoy the meal together. The gaps between servings were uncomfortably long, creating a disjointed and frustrating experience. To put it bluntly, my local Chinese restaurant in London serves far superior food at a fraction of the cost. Sea Palace, while visually appealing, fails to deliver on taste or value. I would only recommend a visit for the scenic view, but if you are looking for a quality meal, you’re better off elsewhere.

Sea Palace is the best Chinese restaurant in the Netherlands. We have been coming here regularly for over 14 years. Of course, the Peking duck is recommended, along with the crispy pork belly and the spare ribs. The location and ambience are unbeatable. You will always receive friendly and helpful service. A reservation is absolutely necessary as the restaurant is always very busy. Anyone who has eaten here once will always come back. Very poor service, ordering by QR code is impersonal and does not work. Many errors, dishes did not arrive, other dishes that were not ordered or delivered were on the bill, long waiting times, etc.

Can confirm the floating chinese palace does indeed have amazing food. Not as authentic as I was expecting but pretty dam close !! Its absolutely a work of art both inside and outside. The view from the seating is beautiful and the interior decoration is lovely. The staff are attentive and friendly and the food itself flavorful and overall delicious. Lots of options including vegetarian dishes. The drink menu is also nice and has quite a few options to choose from.

Not often do I rate 5 stars but, even with having had to wait +15 for our table (it was a busy Saturday night, so forgiven), Sea Palace deserve it. The food and wine was great, the staff and service also great. Have since had quite a few meals there, and have never been disappointed!

I celebrated my 70th birthday here with a group of 16 people. It has always been a dream of mine to eat here and the dream has completely come true! Really delicious food and very attentive and modest service. It was really a party!

Had a nice day in Amsterdam, I walked past here in the morning when I took the photo. It was getting a bit later so we decided to eat there. When we arrived we stood in line outside for fifteen minutes, then had to wait another 45 minutes inside for a spot. When we were finally seated it took another 10 minutes before we got drinks. When I finally ordered, it went fairly smoothly. But when we got it it was already a bit less. Food was not tasty in my experience, I also could not find any tasty familiar items on the menu. But it's also food from other countries so that's usual. Furthermore, the atmosphere was just good Summary: Long wait times and bad food.

The best Chinese restaurant on the water is in Amsterdam! More impressive from the outside than in. But we ate very well there. Ordering is done online and via QR code…reservation recommended.

Went in afternoon had ribs absolutely delicious with loads of meat on them and I mean a good rack of ribs no room for anything else,(they also have robot waiters which is pretty cool)

Sea Palace in Amsterdam has been our regular place for delicious Chinese dishes for more than 35 years. The unique atmosphere of the floating restaurant, combined with the authentic flavors and friendly service, makes every time a special experience. Highly recommended for lovers of traditional Chinese food!

A real Chinese restaurant, I recommend it.

Unfortunately it was expensive, but two out of three plates of pasta were dry... You also pay €4 for 200ml Fanta to drink, which you had to pour yourself from the original glass :/ You have to order the food online and it doesn't come at the same time... If I hadn't already started eating, my food would be cold by the time the others got their food...

This restaurant recycles unfinished meals from customers and gives them to the next wave of customers. The manager asks employees to recycle the rice. If the employees are unwilling, they will be reprimanded by the manager...so disgusting...😷

The exterior of the restaurant is interesting. We ate sushi, it was delicious.

Was recommended to come here by friends and I was not disappointed! It is spectacle walking up to the Sea Palace and the atmosphere pulls you in instantly, although busy we were seated earlier than our reservation and the staff we're very polite and friendly. The order process was quick and easy using the app, the drinks and food came through in good time as well. The char sui, kung pao and sui mai were the superstars of the meal although we ordered several other delicious dishes as well.
