A bit overrated, in my opinion. The wonton noodles were clumped together and didn’t seem very fresh, made me wonder if they’d been stored for too long.

We were here on a weekday evening around 7:30 pm, just the two of us, and getting a table wasn't a problem. It took a while for us to get a memory card, but the drinks arrived quickly. The selection is huge, and some of the dishes even have pictures on the menu, which is great. Our food was delicious, and they even brought us more rice when we ran out. The restaurant's ambiance isn't anything special; it seems they've focused more on accommodating as many people as possible. All in all, a nice restaurant right in the heart of Chinatown.

Extremely rude service. She forced us to order literally in like 10 seconds, couldn't wait a few seconds for us to discuss another vegetarian food option. Then when they forgot our drink, look super annoyed when we told them that. Then we weren't really finished eating and she (the waitress) already forced us to pay the bill because she was going home she said. She was still there eating when we left. All interactions were very rude and really felt like we were doing them an extreme disservice by being there at their institution. I usually dont write bad reviews but this was really one of the worst service I've gotten.

A Cantonese restaurant you should visit in Amsterdam

I wanted to eat Chinese food during my trip to Europe, and this place was pretty clean. I ordered a roast meat rice and a cup of iced lemon tea. The roast meat was delicious.

I couldn't finish my food, to avoid waste I asked for a take away, they charged me 50 cents for the freaking box, unbelievable. Unfriendly waitress, very limited vegetarian options (only side dishes), they charge 1 euro for tap water. Food quality is average compared to their high prices, I would highly recommend trying other local spots.

The food here is incredibly good! I now live close, but back in the days i used to travel very far to go to this restaurant. They have hand made rice noodles and true authentic food.

Disappointing: the staff, the food, and the dated interior. It looks like an assembly-line restaurant. We were asked to leave as soon as possible with the excuse that the table was reserved. The same happened to the other guests. Not worth a repeat visit. I prefer going to New King Klein, but here you are treated normally.

Everything is simply delicious. Our favorites are the crispy noodles with seafood and the fried squid with pepper. A must-try. We will definitely be back.

Terrible attitude! A staff member invited us inside, but then the owner told us to go back outside and wait at the entrance. He spoke to us with extreme impatience and unfriendly manner 🙄. We definitely won't be coming back!

Feels like I am back to GuangDong/ Hong Kong. Happy that I can order in my mother language Cantonese. We ordered: Stir fried beef Hofun Braised beef brisket and tendon Selection of siu mei Iced lemon tea ( legendary) Iced lemon tea should have no. Modification from what the waitress suggested to keep the original taste presentation, which is absolutely true and nice!! Hofun is 4.8/5, only recommendation is to separate the hofun and avoids a stack of hofun sticking together. Good that it has wok hey!!!! Delicious Siu mei is a good value choice with rice provided as well. Pork is very very crispy. Highly recommended. 香港人推薦🤣

The food is absolutely delicious and tastes just like home—it honestly felt like I was back in China. 🇨🇳❤️ The owners are a lovely older couple and they are so kind and welcoming. You can really feel the warmth and love they put into the restaurant.

Before I could even finish explaining, the manager interrupted me and said, “Do you speak Chinese? Your English is terrible" It was rude, unnecessary, and extremely unprofessional. All my concerns before coming here totally disappeared. The food came out at a decent speed, and the staff were super friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Just make sure to get here early, or you won't get a table—the food is so good it gets packed!

Delicious! The wonton noodles were so good, it felt like coming home. The char siu ribs were also delicious and satisfied my cravings.

I've been coming here since I was little. The interior hasn't changed since I was little. But this is my first time here since the renovation. The multiple round tables have been replaced by a more modern atmosphere. Because of Pride, the street was closed off and technically we weren't allowed to enter with the stroller, but we indicated that we were just coming for a quick bite. Security let us through. Then we had to wait 5 minutes for a table, but after that, good service from the man and woman working there. We ordered the char siu, pork belly, and duck. Delicious. The kids wanted spring rolls. They were tasty too, but a bit too oily. We also ordered vegetables. Other places are more famous, like Nam Kee and New King. But for me, nothing compares to Wing Kee. Authentic Chinese food.

Very good char siu, probably the best I've ever had. Almost like a sweet pork rind. Exquisite tripe soup with Cantonese spices.

The takeaway roast duck and soy sauce chicken they gave me were nothing but scraps, tiny pieces, and trimmings—it's outrageous! And several times now they haven't even included cabbage with the takeaway order. I won't be coming back. This is the worst way to treat customers.

Decided to give Chinese food in Amsterdam a try as we were starting to crave for some. We saw most of the patrons of this restaurant were Chinese and the staff also spoke Canto so we thought maybe this place might be legit. Unfortunately, while the service was typically Chinese (not great), the food just missed nearly every mark. 1) Wonton soup - the soup itself was fine but the wontons had no shrimp in it, and whatever meat was in the wontons was definitely not pork and tasted more like chicken. Definitely not authentic Chinese wontons, plus it did not include any egg noodles. 2) Egg drop with beef on rice - colour and taste is all wrong for the egg drop, sauce was very pale instead of being yellow, no yoke? Also lacked flavour, beef and rice was okay but the whole dish tasted off. Did not taste like the egg drop we have at home. 3) Beef stir fried ho-fun - this dish was the closest to being legit, the beef was fine and they used the appropriate ingredients, but the ho-fun were all clumped and stuck together so it likely wasn't fresh. Lastly, portions and servings were all very underwhelming for the price, but from the looks for it they seem to have a large number of regular Chinese locals so maybe it's indicative of the Chinese food scene in Amsterdam. If true then it has a long way to go to catch up to the state of Chinese food in other places like Toronto.

The food was unfortunately not tasty at all – even more Maggi seasoning wouldn't have helped. Even more disappointing, however, was the service: We had barely paid when, less than a minute later, a staff member approached us and asked, “Can you guys go? We need the table.” This certainly didn't make us feel welcome as guests.

As someone from Guangdong, I can't give this food three stars, considering the taste and presentation. After all, the flavors need to be adapted to local tastes.

I visited Wing Kee during my trip to Amsterdam, and it became one of those places that will be part of my wonderful memories of the city! We ordered the Mapo Tofu, roast duck and rice & everything was absolutely delicious. The Mapo Tofu was rich, flavorful and comforting, while the duck was perfectly roasted and paired so well with the rice. Every bite was satisfying. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere and it was the perfect place to enjoy a good meal after exploring Amsterdam. If I ever visit Amsterdam again, I would definitely come back to Wing Kee. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Chinese food 👍

The shrimp soup at the place next door is a bit more flavorful, but you can't get the crispy pork belly this good anywhere else; truly sublime! Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. A typical old-fashioned Cantonese restaurant; as long as you're not too picky, everything is fine.

The food scraps were awful; everything was burnt. I asked them to replace it, but they gave me another burnt one. I wouldn't recommend eating there. The waitress, an older woman, had a very unpleasant attitude. Terrible, absolutely terrible.

I had a great dining experience in this restaurant. I tried the roasted duck, roasted pork and soy sauce chicken and they were all tasty, especially the roasted pork - the skin was crispy and meat was tender. The server was friendly and attentive.

During my visit to Wing Kee, I enjoyed the Won Ton Noodle Soup with For Nam (roasted pork). The broth was deliciously clear, flavorful, and served at the right temperature. The wontons were fresh, well-filled, and had a soft texture. The For Nam was perfectly prepared: tender on the inside, slightly crispy on the edges, and full of flavor. The noodles also had a nice bite and paired excellently with the soup. The service was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant's authentic atmosphere truly gives you the feeling of being in a traditional Hong Kong eatery. As a lover of authentic Chinese food, Wing Kee had been on my list for a while. The Zeedijk is known for its Chinese restaurants, so expectations were high. Unfortunately, this visit turned out to be a disappointment on almost every point. It started with the service. Even before I had a chance to calmly look at the menu, it was made clear that we had to order quickly because it was busy. It is understandable that a restaurant wants to operate efficiently, but there is a difference between serving quickly and making guests feel like they are participating in a culinary speed date. When the food arrived, it was placed on the table quite carelessly. Normally, I can overlook that if the quality of the food is good, but even that was disappointing. The presentation was messy, the portions were on the meager side, and the dishes lacked what I was hoping for above all: flavor. While authentic Chinese dishes often excel in depth, balance, and surprising flavors, everything here remained remarkably flat. No taste explosion, rather a friendly handshake from someone who actually doesn't feel like meeting you. What ultimately bothered me the most was something else. I speak a little Chinese and heard the owner, while talking to colleagues, refer to non-Chinese guests as "鬼佬" (gwáilóu). That is certainly not a respectful term, and it felt strange to hear guests being discussed in that way. Whether you are Chinese, Dutch, or something in between: surely you should be able to expect a little respect for your customers. All in all, there was little left to be enthusiastic about. The service felt rushed, the food was mediocre, and the atmosphere behind the scenes did not leave a positive impression. Fortunately, Amsterdam has plenty of excellent Chinese restaurants where hospitality and quality do go hand in hand. Final verdict: not worth a repeat visit and not a restaurant I would recommend.

This place is like a canteen in Amsterdam. The roast duck and beef brisket are highly recommended, but I'd also like to recommend two other dishes you absolutely can't miss: 1. Pan-fried Stuffed Trio. These are stuffed with tofu, eggplant, and bell peppers, each with a unique texture and flavor. (Many people order the stuffed tofu, but don't! It's too boring. I think tofu is the most ordinary ingredient because it doesn't absorb flavor easily. Having three pieces of each of the three flavors makes it much more interesting.) The meat portion seems to include shrimp in addition to meat; there's a generous amount of meat, and it's incredibly fresh. The final sauce is delicious. The portion is huge, highly recommended! 2. Singapore Fried Rice. Personally, I think it's much better than the dry-fried beef noodles. I always order the beef noodles, but they always fall short. However, the Singapore Fried Rice completely blows them out of the water. It's delicious from every angle—the wok hei (wok aroma), dry and fragrant, not greasy, and the side dishes are also very tasty. I recommend everyone try it!

I should have read the reviews first… the pork was all fat and bones, and the staff weren't friendly. Bad experience.

First of all the service was rude, since she literally threw the napkins, the plates, and the cutlery in our way. Second of all, the food was really plain - the noddles, the meat, and the spring rolls had little to no flavour at all. You couldn’t even taste a difference between different types of meat. Another thing was that we noticed discrimination - non-Asians were immediately given forks and spoons, and Asians were served chopsticks but without even ordering anything. In addition, we also noticed a hair in the noddles. The spring rolls were made with glass noodles (99%), and about three stripes of carrot. Overall not tasteful. I’m not really picky about food but this experience was terrible. Wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.

Very authentic. The roast duck was the best, followed by the chicken, which was the most tender I've ever had. However, I'd recommend ordering a slightly saltier stir-fry dish, as the roast meats and beef brisket tend to be on the sweeter side.

The restaurant has been renovated, and the environment is much better than before, while the food remains as delicious as ever. However, I must point out that the attitude of the Hong Kong male waiter in the picture (who should be new) is seriously problematic. He was greeting customers at the door, but when he saw me come in, he glanced at me, immediately turned away to chat with someone else, pretending not to see me. It wasn't until about two minutes later that another waiter noticed me and came to greet me. After I entered, a white customer, and he completely changed his previous indifferent attitude, immediately going up to greet him with a smile. Looking through previous reviews, there have been more than one criticism of this waiter. My assessment is: You may have your own preferences regarding foreigners in private, and you may like or dislike certain types of people—that's your freedom. However, as a restaurant waiter, you have an obligation to treat everyone equally and warmly to all customers. Apart from that, the other waiters were all very warm and friendly.

Incredibly delicious! I highly recommend the beef brisket rice – it's amazing! If you want char siu or similar dishes, it's best to arrive before 6:30 PM, otherwise they'll sell out. It's incredibly delicious; the beef brisket is tender and flavorful, among the best Cantonese restaurants in Europe. The auntie only speaks Cantonese, but they understand Mandarin. The owner is very welcoming and will attentively serve you even if you're alone.

If you are looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant in the center of Amsterdam, this is a sure bet. Located right next to the red light district, it is an unpretentious place but with a brutal energy: always on the move, with a very hardworking team. The service is very friendly and efficient, despite the intense pace they have — you can tell they have a lot of work to do, but they never lose their good service. The food is fantastic, with tasty and well-cooked dishes. I especially recommend the pato laqueado, really delicious and a must-try. In addition, the quality-price ratio is top, especially considering the central location. A highly recommended place if you are in Amsterdam and want to enjoy a good, authentic and uncomplicated Chinese restaurant 🍜✨

[Complain on Customer Service Attitude] To start off brief comment on food, as a Cantonese person myself no doubt they serve solid Cantonese food, arguably considered above average even in Hong Kong standards. No brainer 5 stars except is a bit too expensive compared to the UK for instance. Though this comment thread does not focus on the quality of the food. It is with regret that I do not just comment on the food. Wing Kee is always my to-go Chinese restaurant here in Amsterdam. Recently I went to the restaurant myself for lunch and ordered a 'BBQ Meat of 2 choices with rice' that costs 19 euros and switched to noodles. On the menu it saids "Instead of noodles (I guess its a typo and should be rice) the following is also available: Ho-Fan = rice sticks, Mai-Fan = rice vermicelli or Lai-Fan = rice noodles". In chinese it saids 河粉，米粉，瀨粉同價 which means that these 3 types of noodles are of the SAME price. Intuitively I would have thought that SAME price means no extra surcharge for switching from rice to another base as I looked at the Chinese characters. However, I was told that it was 19.5 euros. I asked why and this Cantonese man waiter asked me 你識唔識中文架 which means if I know Chinese or not. Even coming from a Hong Kong background and that Chinese is my native tongue I find this disrespectful and offensive, not to mention the suitability of this attitude of customer service in the context of Western Regions. He explained that the 同價 (same price) means that the same 0.5 euros of additional charge applies to all types of noodles, which to me does not make sense. It's not that the 0.5 euros mattered a lot to me but I just thought that it wasn't very nice of him to speak this way to a customer that paid his restaurant. Wing Kee was one of my favourite restaurants since I moved from Hong Kong to Amsterdam but looks like this can no longer be the case and all the good memories that I share with my friends here will be coated with an additional layer of this disrespectful, offensive incident that unfortunately happened.

Here, you pay money and receive the worst service. The waiters yell at customers, saying they're too busy and don't have time to serve them. They order large groups to split up and sit separately, even though there are more empty seats. Instead of coordinating with the restaurant, the waiters just vent their anger on the customers. They don't clean the tables. When customers voluntarily clear away leftover food, the waiters seem to be doing nothing. After waiting a long time without any menus or other service, the same person who yelled at the customers brought a pile of bowls and slammed them down in front of our group, making a loud noise, even though other customers were watching. The waiter only calmed down after a friend told him it was too noisy. I don't understand why we pay for this kind of service. I know the waiters work hard and have a heavy workload, yet they vent all their negativity on the customers who are paying for their services. This is incredibly unreasonable. I've lived in the Netherlands for two years and in China for two or three decades, and this is the first time in my life I've encountered such service.

This time around, I ordered the beef brisket noodles, and it was just as good as the ones in HK. For this visit, I would like to express my gratitude towards one of the HK gentlemen running this restaurant. I was having dinner alone and assigned to a small table, while one of the customers approached me aggressively, as he would like me to share my table with him and his friends. One of the HK gentlemen from the Wing Kee crew noticed this, and told the aggressive customer to stop harassing me, as it’s just not the culture in Amsterdam to share the table with strangers. Oh man, if you’re reading this, I really appreciate you initiating to help. As a customer who doesn’t visit Amsterdam often, all I can do in return is to leave you a 5-star review, and use my words to tell the readers how thoughtful the Wing Kee crew can be and how authentic the HK food is. We customers focus a lot of food quality and often forget how important service is and what service means. Service doesn’t only mean sending customers food - it also means paying attention to customers. Again, thank you, and Wing Kee never disappoints me!

A great spot in Chinatown! Everything was delicious—I especially loved the Peking duck. It was also nice to enjoy Chinese tea for just €1 per person (which is absolutely fantastic!). A full dinner for two cost us €42, which is very good value for the city center. So I definitely recommend it :)

Nearly an hour of waiting with no effective communication or reasonable explanation. The service was completely unacceptable. A waiter or manager spoke loudly in Cantonese, staring at customers with an extremely aggressive attitude. He even confidently stated that "all the dishes have been served," but in fact, we only received one dish. He also pointed at us, as if the problem was ours, showing extreme disrespect. When we inquired about the situation, he simply said, "If the kitchen can't make it, there's nothing I can do." Completely irresponsible and unprofessional. An older female server repeatedly apologized, but her reasons were contradictory ("The order was lost," "It was written incorrectly"), clearly reflecting chaotic internal management. Even more outrageous: several main dishes (such as sweet and sour pork and roast duck) were missing without prior notification to the customers. You could even hear shouts of "We're out!" coming from the kitchen. We were seated at the very back of the restaurant and tried calling for a waiter multiple times but were completely ignored. Long wait, rude service, chaotic management—this restaurant's professionalism is practically nonexistent. Strongly not recommended.

A fine restaurant with classic dishes. Very tasty. The price is slightly higher compared to German competitors (or perhaps that's because the cost of living in the Netherlands is generally a bit higher than in Germany). The portion size is adequate.

Friendly service, clean premises, very good food, especially the duck. 100% recommended.

On January 3, 2026, I stopped by to see if the restaurant was open yet. Unfortunately, you can't dine there yet; only takeout is open from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Today, February 28, 2026, I went back. The restaurant had been open since January 23, 2026. It has a new interior and many tables for two people in the row. You can eat next to people you don't know, because there's 20 cm between tables, so...

We sat down with the group at the next table who were speaking Cantonese. Their food had already been served, but our table hadn't even had our bowls and chopsticks. No iced lemon tea, no iced milk tea. We ordered a three-item combo, but they didn't have char siu. They unilaterally changed it to something else without even asking, and their attitude was terrible. Oh, and we even found a wooden stick in our rice!

The person at the gate told me dogs were allowed in, but once inside, they told me dogs weren't allowed...

Way too expensive for what it is. The long line outside made us think it was worth it, but we were wrong. Sloppy and unfriendly service, and bland food. Everything was tasteless (chicken fried noodles, wonton soup, pepper beef, and Chinese broccoli). Don't waste your time or money, go somewhere else!

We ate there twice in three days; it was delicious, and three dishes were just right for two people. The auntie was very kind and reminded us not to order too much. 🤣

Aunty is very nice. She will stop us if we ordered too much, she don’t want our money haha. Great personality! And the food is authentic and delicious too!

I had roast duck with sauce and rice; the duck was delicious, I recommend it.

Excellent restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. Although the area is touristy, the restaurant has good quality and the prices are reasonable. We had a great meal!

I saw manye chinese people eating at this place and so we tried. Ordered the dishes you see on the photos. FOOD: sweet n sour pork was good. authentic taste. beef noodles, great smokey flavor, very. tender beef pieces however very little. I wish there was a good amount of meat too. SERVICE: one old lady with short hair and glasses took our order, her service was ok but nothing special. felt like just serving you and no human touch. However the other lady who brought our food was nice. Wished us “here’s your food. Enjoy” which was a lovely touch. Atmosphere: It was okay. quite busy place but still not too loud. You can still have good conversations while enjoying ur meal. overall, good experience. nice place to have chinese food. and decent prices as well :)

There was absolutely no service; the staff just chatted behind the counter, and no one even came to help us take our orders. We finally had no choice but to leave.

Price too high for quality of food and it is cold. First the staff ignores you and another moment they gather around your table like a bunch of wasps in summer. Cashier screams at you

This place is a favorite of mine and I always come by if I’m nearby and not getting home on time to cook. The 双拼 with 叉烧 and 烧肉 is my favorite here. The only gripe I have about this place is that the quality of the food is rather inconsistent. Nothing noteworthy about the service here for me, no issues nor praise worthy points.

The beef brisket is a must-order! It's super delicious!
