Haha, right now it's very basic, and it's all about the food. Although I usually eat the same thing here—roasted duck and pork belly Babi Pangang, which is delicious—the rest of the food will probably be fine. This is because there are always a lot of Chinese people eating there, and they know how Chinese food should taste. So, everyone: just wait until December 2025 and go eat here then.

This is the most delicious and enjoyable authentic Cantonese restaurant I've eaten in the past few days! The auntie in the store is very friendly and humorous. The people sitting at the nearby tables are all eating with a smile. 👍 Highly recommend this restaurant!

Delicious Cantonese food, service was fast and friendly. Only downside was the chicken was cut in such a way that there was a bunch of tiny bones in it which we had to be very careful while eating. Despite that I will definitely be back to try more things.

The waitress with purple hair may suddenly unleash her temper on you with extremely poor attitude. We were a group of 6 waiting outside the restaurant for almost an hour. From the very beginning, we told the staff that we were happy to be seated at separate tables, but they kept insisting we wait for a large table, while continuously seating smaller groups of 2, 3, and 4 people who arrived after us. I was calm and polite the whole time, but a woman with dyed purple hair suddenly lost her temper at me, loudly scolded the groups of 3 and 4 people who had just been seated behind us to leave, then “gave” us their two 4-person tables, slammed the menus onto our table, shouted to her colleagues not to give us a round table, and finally lied by falsely claiming that we had requested to wait for a large table. (This clearly showed that at that moment we still had no seats and were still waiting for this so-called “large table.” ) The attitude was hostile, dishonest, and completely unprofessional. We walked We were completely out and will never return. Other customers should be aware of such terrible service. The staff at this restaurant can suddenly lose their temper and have a terrible attitude. Six of us waited outside the restaurant for nearly an hour. We had told the staff from the beginning that we could sit at separate tables, but they kept refusing us seats, saying we were waiting for a larger table. Instead, they kept letting in groups of two, three, and four people who had come in behind us. I'd been keeping a calm demeanor until a woman with purple hair suddenly lost her temper. She yelled at the three and four guests who had just sat down behind us to get up, then "rushed" us to sit at two tables for four. She then slammed her menus on the table and yelled at her colleagues not to give us the round table. Finally, she lied and said we'd asked to wait for a larger table. (We still hadn't been seated and were still waiting for the so-called "large table.") The entire process was extremely awful, with malicious distortions of facts and unreasonable outbursts of anger towards customers. We ultimately decided to leave and will not return, warning other customers to be wary of restaurants with such poor service.

Good, basic, and authentic Chinese food. There's a bit of a line at peak times. The place is a bit old and very basic. Recommended if you're craving Chinese food in Amsterdam.

Beef chow fun is very good with tender beef. I would rate it even better outside HK if with a little burnt soy sauce aftertaste and using chewy thin fun. The beef brisket is pretty tender with the right amount of fat. Not pictured is the roasted pig. Though a cold cut, its thin pig skin is still pretty crispy and the meat is relatively soft with the right amount of fat.

The customer is not right here. I ordered soy sauce chicken and received sweet and sour chicken. When I said this is not what I ordered the waitress said no I ordered sweet and sour. I know I didn’t because I don’t like onion and green peppers.

The roast duck and barbecued pork were delicious, but the others were average. There were many people on the day we went, and the waiter was very busy. The service was not particularly attentive, so my friend and I did not have a very pleasant meal.

Absolutely delicious and authentic Chinese food in the heart of Amsterdam’s China town. We had the spicy beef in black bean sauce with rice and the crispy pork belly and chicken with cabbage and rice. Both were exceptional! The service was friendly and so fast. Incredible meal and will definitely be back in the future.

I ordered a "Three-Item Combo" at Rongji and ended up finding a strand of hair in it—definitely not ours. When we called over a middle-aged female staff member, her attitude was awful: she didn’t offer a sincere apology and even insisted that finding hair in your food is "totally normal,” completely refusing to acknowledge how serious the issue was. We asked for a refund on the combo, but she flat-out refused, saying they could only give us a complimentary lemon tea—and that if we wanted our money back, we had to return the entire dish. I used to really enjoy Rongji, but after this terrible service I’ll never step foot in there again. I hope Rongji takes its food hygiene and customer service seriously and stops letting down more patrons. We asked her to refund the money for the three-course meal, but she refused and insisted that she could only give us lemon tea. If we wanted a refund, we had to take the whole dish back. I always liked Rong Ji, but this poor service attitude made me never step into this restaurant again. I hope Rong Ji will take food hygiene and employee service issues seriously and stop disappointing more customers.

Great location - close to Centraal Station. Visited alone and it wasn’t very busy, so I was seated immediately. The 3-dish special with rice was delicious. Thank you to the lady that was serving. I would visit again!

It was a cool time to fill my Asian soul, so I decided to visit a Chinese restaurant with Cantonese food on the menu. It is located in Chinatown right next to the red light district and is run by Chinese people. It is not exact, but it looks more like a Hong Kong-style Chinese restaurant than a mainland Chinese restaurant, and it feels like a little Hong Kong. From the barbecue hanging outside, it looked just like what I saw in Hong Kong, so I believed it somehow. The menu was so much that I thought it was a Chinese restaurant, but there was a barbecue rice bowl for those who came alone, so I ordered that. It was a rice bowl with chicken, goose, and char siu, and it cost about 14 euros. The portion was not disappointing, and both the rice and the barbecue were generous, so I liked it. First of all, the chicken was not oily, but the meat was well-oiled and chewy. The best part was the goose, and the oil dripped from the skin, which was crispy, and the meat was not dry at all. The overall temperature was not cold, so it went well with the salty liver. I was satisfied with the poultry, so I looked forward to the char siu, but unfortunately it was disappointing. The meat was all lean, so it was dry, and there was no fat, so there was no charm in terms of savory taste, flavor, or texture. The rice was undercooked, and the grains were dry and lacked moisture, but it was okay to eat as a side dish to barbecue. Above all, since it was the first time I ate it in a week, I was in no position to comment on the taste of the rice. Except for the char siu, I felt about 70% of the taste of Hong Kong, so I ate well and was satisfied. I don't think it's a place I would go out of my way to visit, but it might be more satisfying than Dutch food.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in the Netherlands, not just the world. The only disappointment is that they don't serve alcohol, but the duck and fried rice are delicious!

It's always good at Wing Kee the portions are generous and you could actually share it with someone. The interior of Wing Kee is dated but it is a diner and not a restaurant. The service is fast and the staff is hurried but friendly. eur 18.50 for roasted pork belly with rice) for eur 4.00 you can choose mihoen or chinese bami). The Chinese lemon ice tea costs eur 4.00. A bit pricey but it is good!

A friend from Hong Kong recommended this place as a recommended Cantonese restaurant in Amsterdam, so I went there ☺️ It was probably my first time eating Cantonese food I ordered fried rice with roasted duck and pork, spring rolls, and stir-fried cuttlefish The atmosphere of the restaurant somehow felt authentic, and the food was as delicious as I expected❗️

Unfortunately, I was fooled by the strikingly euphoric reviews. They said it was the best Chinese restaurant in Amsterdam - I traveled here just for that, blah blah blah. Stuffy and dirty place. The supposedly great duck was half fat, half bone - prices were ridiculously inflated. I also ordered simple noodles with chicken. It was bone dry, a tiny portion for €20.50!!! Fun fact: The door is guarded by an employee from the inside and only opened after you've paid at the counter.

As a New Zealander, this place made me feel closer to home than anywhere else in Amsterdam. Sitting in here you feel like you could be in Hong Kong (or San Francisco Chinatown!). The crispy pork belly was delicious and the dishware used is lovely.

The Sanpin is highly recommended, and the Fried Beef River is also great. The kids also loved the frozen milk tea and frozen lemon tea. The wonton noodle soup base is relatively bland and not suitable for children. Pan-fried Yong Tau Foo and Black Bean Beef were very average. The tofu is very bland and has no flavor. It needs to be dipped in the soup and braised vegetables in Sanpin to finish it. Beef with black bean sauce is suitable for white people's taste and is not very authentic.

Even though my boyfriend and I were very hungry, we weren't able to eat the ordered dishes. His duck consisted mainly of fat and bones, and my soup was only suitable for drinking because the noodles that the lady herself offered as an addition were so hard that I had difficulty biting them. For this price we expected high quality dishes. We were the only guests in the entire restaurant who did not receive chopsticks and a traditional soup spoon, only a regular set of cutlery. We saw it only after leaving the restaurant, looking at what other guests were eating, because despite the empty seats, we were seated at the very end in an invisible place. Other guests clearly had a different type of noodles in their soups. We felt like we weren't treated equally to guests of Asian descent.

Trap. Do not go there. Food is mediocare at best (how can you make rice bad and duck so greasy...), there are a lot of great Chinese places in Amsterdam, this one is not one of them. Not to mention, that they "accidently" mistake bills quite often... Highly not recommend.

Keywords: discrimination, dirty The waitstaff display clear favoritism by not welcoming single customers or Chinese-speaking guests. They allow groups of two or more to skip the line, even when the same table size is available for the single diner. While they smile at English-speaking patrons, they treat those speaking Chinese with disrespect, almost as if they were beggars. More troubling, the spoon provided was visibly dirty, with residual oil still present. It was very bad. The waiter was unwilling to let a single customer dine, so he asked the people behind him to serve the table first (in the end, the table was arranged for four people). In addition, the waiter smiled brightly at foreigners and winked at Chinese people. Finally, the spoon I was given actually had unwashed oil on it.

I've been coming here since I was in the stroller with my parents. Nowadays often friends with colleagues. Authentic Cantonese Cuisine. Friendly staff. It's an eatery so it doesn't have a restaurant feel, so you really come for the food. That's wonderful here. Last time was great again and the lady is so friendly.

If you like Peking duck, you should eat there. Original Chinese restaurant, not a tourist trap, we came across it while walking past and were lucky to get a table. The restaurant is functional, no special facilities, but that's exactly what it has for us Made something extraordinary. The menu is illustrated, you can find your way around. The service staff is attentive and focused on the guest, everything is great.

I visited this restaurant by chance 2 years ago while I was travelling in Amsterdam. Unlike other neighbouring countries, Netherlands colonial past give this place a familiar atmosphere, which feels strangely welcome. Like a connected network of trade routes. When I step into the restaurant I thought I was in a neighbourhood of Hongkong or Malaysia, every staff speaks Cantonese. Most of them uncles and aunties. I ordered ice lemon tea and beef brisket noodle, it’s the most authentic Chinese food I’ve ever tasted when I was travelling there. So authentic that I can’t tell if I’m in Amsterdam or at home. When I was about to pay, I couldn’t catch the amount the lady staff was saying, so I replied in Cantonese, she was surprised and immediately feel a sense of affinity with me. And the uncle, who I assume to be the owner, said when they are chit chatting he notice I was smiling all the time, so I must be a fellow Cantonese. If you’re a tourists looking for authentic Cantonese/Chinese cuisine this is a must visit! Especially when you’re Chinese that got home sick while travelling in this part of Europe :))

Who is bragging about Rong Ji? It is located on the corner of a street in the red light district. A few male staff talk about "salty and wet" from time to time. The service is very authentic Hong Kong-style tea restaurant style (everyone understands it). The barbecued pork and roasted pork are terrible. The BBQ pork was of poor quality, very woody and poorly seasoned (very plasticky taste). The roasted pork (just, crispy pork belly?) The skin part tastes okay, the fat meat is very fat, and the lean part is very dull, it is really unpalatable.

I'm Japanese. I was on tour for Spring 2024 and didn't have much time, so I checked this restaurant beforehand and ordered nasi goreng (shrimp) and wonton soup. However, both amounts are enough for 2 adults! Both the Thai rice and the soup of nasi goreng have no taste! That's 35 euros! 😭 1 euro 170 yen really makes me cry! In the Netherlands, you can never go wrong with Chinese food, but this is not the place to choose! The atmosphere and service are the worst I've ever eaten in Holland. Let's take out from the fast food or supermarket inside the station.

I had dinner here with my girlfriend. I hadn't been there for at least 1 year. When we entered there was hardly anyone there. We ordered a beef stew and tja-siu with Peking duck. Everything was too salty and oily. Peking duck was not crispy and was drizzled with thick gravy. Even the white rice was still hard on the inside. Sorry I will never go here again!!

Tastebuds will be satisfied when you have been to Hongkong Soy chicken was spot on and the classic Cantonese sauce even better. The star anise really comes thru. Char shiew came pretty close to the traditional street food kitchen. Reasonable prices considering how hard it is to find authentic asian restaurants that didn't adapt to the European taste pallet. I read in some other comments that the flight attendants of Singapore airlines come to eat here. That seems to be a good indicator as well.

Sometimes I like to light-heartedly tease people about traveling to the other side of the planet just to eat food you can get at home. For whatever reason this trip might be the first time I really missed home-cooking/comfort food for once. My wife and I ordered their 2 meat platter of your choice (which comes with rice), a small wonton soup, and beef chow fun. I’m personally VERY picky when it comes to beef chow fun. Before I took a bite of anything else, I had a bite of the chow fun first and was pleasantly surprised. It was delicious (though a bit bland for my taste — personally). The smell of wok hei coming off the dish was very reassuring. The onions had seared spots, so I knew this chef knew what he was doing. For the 2 meats, we ordered siu yuk (crispy pork belly) and char siu (BBQ pork). Both were equally good, but I thought the siu yuk was a little better. The braising liquid/juices it comes with really enhances everything. Excellent with rice. Wonton soup was light and very delicate. The wonton was good, though nothing special. Perfect for the weather. Honestly the meal really hit the spot for my wife and I. We’ve had better at home, but Wing Kee is the real deal for Cantonese cooking and will guarantee to scratch that itch for home cooking. ALSO: the chili oil they have at the table is pretty spicy!! a must try for hot heads like me!
