Shami restaurant, good food, a bit expensive

The food was soooo good and like in Syria And the drinks we tried Polo and strawberry and tot shami , all of it was delicious

Good food, delicious meat. The best rice I've ever tasted outside. Large portions, and the takeout option, at no extra cost, is the icing on the cake. Fast service. Delicious fresh juices, but a bit on the pricey side. I'll definitely come back here again.

This is not a halal place. They sell a lot of alcohol, as far as I know alcohol is not halal

Tasty Syrian food, perfect for a dinner with friends. We had mezze and a mix of grilled meat to share and additionally some falafel. The staff is friendly and the restroom is clean.

Sham Syrian Restaurant in Amsterdam, now in its second branch. The atmosphere is good, but the service was a little slow, as there was only one employee at the time we were there. The restaurant is small, so it's best to book in advance. We ordered the Syrian breakfast and lunch, which included foul, ta'ameya, kibbeh, grape leaves, fava beans, and more. It was delicious and the portions were good. I recommend trying it.

The restaurant is very excellent.. The young men are Syrians, they are like honey, and we brought them from Saudi Arabia ❤️ and the best hospitality tea after lunch 🫡

Lovely well made syrian/arab food. Large portions. Very nice service. There was a large group when we arrived so a bit noisy, but it helped when they left. Yes, the servers will urge you to bring your leftovers with you, if you can't eat it all. Recommended.

This is our third visit to the restaurant. It's beautiful and delicious. We had chicken shish tawook with rice, potatoes, assorted appetizers, tabbouleh, and fattoush. They were very delicious, and there were no complaints. The service was professional and respectful to the customer. I will definitely visit again and highly recommend it. We ordered Maqlouba and Shawarma to our hotel. Both meals were great, especially the Maqlouba! It's lovely to find an authentic food in Amsterdam.

A beautiful and delicious Shami restaurant. I sat in the outdoor seating area and it was beautiful. I ordered mixed grills, a plate of lamb kebab, hummus, fattoush, and a plate of potatoes. The food was all delicious and fresh, and the service was excellent. Thank you to the entire restaurant staff.

Unfortunately I have been eating very well here for years. The last 3 times when ordering it went wrong. The falafel are no longer the old delicious falafel. Also my bread was not included once. And the last time today it was not okay again. Very unfortunate, it was always great

It was quite busy on a Monday evening so it is useful to book in advance. Can easily be done online. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. We started with some maza which were beautifully presented and all very tasty. My favorites were the hummus (deliciously creamy), the beans and the cheese puff pastry bites. The fattoush rounded it off nicely with its freshness. As a main course we each had a portion of falafel, but we couldn't finish it all because there were six pieces of falafel included. Two portions are enough for three people. The music was pleasant but a bit loud and the acoustics were not great, which sometimes made it difficult to hear each other. Would love to come back there someday.

The best restaurant I visited in my trip to Amsterdam, there are verity of dishes and different options, and every single dish i tried was delicious and done perfectly. The staff are friendly, and they recommended some dishes that were really good, the restaurant was clean, bathrooms were clean as well. The drinks were really good, I believe they make them here from scratch. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to try true Syrian cuisine, It was the best Syrian restaurant I tried this year.

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and decided to give it a try even though I'm not vegetarian. The dining room is small and cozy, with colorful lamps and a dim light that highlights the beauty of old Damascus pictures on the wall. The waiters are welcoming and helpful, the food was served quickly. I enjoyed the starters (baba ganoush, muhammara), dense and rich of flavors. However, I can't say the same for the main course, namely rice with eggplants and other vegetables: while the rice itself was fragrant and well-cooked, the mix of vegetables was bland and tasteless, making the dish quite boring overall. As for the bill, I feel this restaurant is overpriced: 20eur for a modest portion of rice and veggies, without any meat of course. All in all, the experience was okay although there are better options in Ams.

We had lunch there and were more than satisfied. We received a very warm welcome and were immediately made aware of the parking spaces, making sure to park correctly; otherwise, you'll be fined, especially for electric cars. The food is served and presented very creatively, with both quality and quantity. Very appealing. The taste is fantastic. The selection is very diverse and excellent. Have eaten at this restaurant several times now. Every time the food is fantastic and the service is super friendly. The Sham Deal or Sham Royal is recommended to share. This way you get a bit of everything and can taste a lot. If you have preferences, you can also indicate this and they will be taken into account. We even got dessert on the house. Price/quality is top. Update 12/3/2025: Once again a delicious meal. I.v.m. Ramadan there was an Iftar menu with different options. We had a very extensive meal with 5 people and, as always, delicious. The muhammara remains our favorite! Recommended: the lemonades on the drinks menu are delicious!

Always wanted to go here based on stories, but never been before. Now I know why everyone likes it so much. Delicious authentic Syrian food! Each dish is a delicious experience, from the Foul muqalla (broad beans with yogurt) to the lentil soup to the Djaaj Mtafaeh (chicken in lemon with cream), the Maqluba (rice with eggplant and lamb) and the Shish Taouk (chicken skewers). Also try the fresh lemonade with mint, really delicious and thirst-quenching. We will definitely come back!

Amazing food with also very helpful staff that directed us to the best choices on the menu! Portion sizes were not too small, however I could eat buckets of that Muhamara and it still wouldn’t be enough.
