Shoarma babylon in Wijk 01 Centrum

It's been a while since I'd gotten anything, and I just got three super chicken shawarma. €36, but the chicken was completely tasteless and dried out. Such a shame. I used to like it much better. This was the last time for me.

The food was delicious again, I have been there before because family lives in Purmerend but I really missed this and nothing has changed, same owner, same layout even the food is top top top

Ordered two shawarma platters. Normally it goes well, but today I ordered before 6 p.m. and after calling twice, finally received it at 8:40 p.m. The shawarma was lukewarm and the fries cold. They've lost me as a customer for the time being.

Ordered two pizzas today through Thuisbezorgd. I order often and they're always on time and correct. This time, we had to wait an hour and 10 minutes for a cooled, chewy pizza. Such a shame! It felt like they'd forgotten about us, and the pizzas too. I'd appreciate a proper solution from Babylon.

We've been coming or ordering from here for years, but the quality has deteriorated significantly. We ordered during the week this time, which we usually do on the weekends. After the last time, I had diarrhea and felt really sick. Last time we ordered.

On September 5th, after a night at the Ziggo Race Café, we had a fantastic meal here. We had the shawarma calzone, and it was, in a word, excellent. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, but also very professional. So, for the food, atmosphere, and price, I give it a 10. On September 12th, we were hungry again at night. So, we drove to Babylon again, this time with other friends. Unfortunately, after ordering, we received a very bad message from home and had to leave immediately. Without having eaten. The staff was very understanding, and after paying for the drinks that had already been opened, we left immediately. Thanks again for your understanding.

Good old-fashioned, well-seasoned shawarma! The sauces (tomato/onion, garlic, and sambal) were just right! I felt like I was at that super good shawarma place that used to be on Ferdinand Bolstraat. Definitely worth a visit.

I've always ordered from Babylon and have always been completely satisfied, but today my order came without any sauce (that's quite important for a shawarma sandwich). The delivery driver forgot, and after 40 minutes, he brought the sauces. It takes 7 minutes each way from my house to Babylon. I'm surprised the delivery driver took care of the other orders first and then delivered the sauces. As a result, I have to throw away the cold shawarma sandwich and part of my calzone. It will take a while before I regain my trust in Babylon.

I ordered a 15-euro "pizza" from these guys. I got a kind of tasteless cardboard round with cheese and pepperoni. I considered adding bleach to it to at least give it some flavor. It's impossible to eat.

I went to this restaurant and saw a mouse running under my feet.

We have been greeted as one of them, it's a moment that we will remember. The owner staff and everyone are so friendly and welcoming us as tourists. The food is great, have chit chat with them.

+Can I have a doner kebab? -Noooo, there's no doner kebab here, if you want, just shawarma (Although I don't care what you call it, they should definitely not speak disrespectfully or rudely behind me (Yes, I don't speak Dutch, but I immediately notice when an Arab is talking behind me!) This business has gone downhill a lot. Big boss Sjors would only be there on the weekend. One order after another came back because it was either wrong or burnt (pizza). Clearly another pizza maker. No more people I know in the business. I was also disappointed with the food and the atmosphere was unfortunately not there. Such a shame, especially when I read the other reviews. Ordered 2x Kapsalon chicken with extra fries, didn't have fries!!!! Called and was spoken to in a very unintelligible manner. Fries delivered 40 minutes later. No sorry, no extra, and it wasn't even tasty. I will never order from here again.

Ordered fries with other things, fries not delivered. Babylon had no respect for the customer. 2nd time this already, shame! Didn't want to deliver the fries, but they paid for it.

Falafel is rock hard, you can smash the windows with it. Shawarma poor, quickly thrown into a pita, without any lettuce or anything like that. In short, not recommended and way too expensive, 3 sandwiches and fries €33.

Just ordered a pizza and it arrived super quickly! Only ice cold pizza and only dough with very little cheese I called the company to report this and the person gets angry! Because I asked how is that pizza so cold? According to this gentleman, I had to go with my. Mind your own business and not his on the phone, he said he is bringing a new pizza, I have been waiting for an hour I will never order a pizza here again!!!

My buddy and I wanted a shawarma sandwich on Boxing Day. I didn't feel like eating in a shawarma place lit with fluorescent beams, so we went to Babylon. We both order a Turkish Toska Lamb as stated on the menu. The sandwiches soon arrived on the table and I immediately saw that they probably weren't in the mood for them that day. The Turkish rolls looked like limp dishcloths, there was no cheese on them and the shawarma looked more like minced meat than shawarma. The shawarma was dry, the sandwich probably came from one of those supermarket packages and there was no cheese on it. I immediately said that there was no cheese on it and then the best man simply said that I had not ordered that, but Toska really means with cheese. He was immediately irritated, but he would still put cheese over it. But we were hungry and I immediately got fed up with it when it was said that I had not ordered it. The man simply did not have the time or inclination to listen quietly to take his order properly. Ate the shawarma sandwich anyway. I would also bring a sandwich for my girlfriend, who had just stayed at home. So I order, very clearly, a small normal shawarma sandwich. A shawarma sandwich is being prepared and he says to the man at the cash register: Super shawarma sandwich. I was about to explode, but I restrained myself and paid the €11 for the unrequested super shawarma and we left. But we went there for the very last time for the rest of our lives. 15 euros for a hair salon, just act normal

I had a take away and in the sandwich there was only meat, no salt, no tomatoes, cosmic nothingness

Look how small the pita bread is compared to my hand. For 10 euros, you’re definitely not getting full. The meat is strangely spiced, and the big tapas plate on the table is shared with everyone, likely using the same spoon that someone else licked. I got sick the day after.

Ordered 2 hair salons tonight, it took a long time, the delivery person said he had been at the door. So no, we sat in the living room, finally the phone rang, no problem, the food arrived, it was warm, but the garlic sauce had not been delivered, and the cheese stuck to the aluminum foil, so it was a mess. Always ordered, but this was really bad!!!

The best thing is the friendliness of the staff. Of the food, the best are the sauces. We ate 4 people, 2 plates of falafel and 2 of shawarma. To drink 2 beers and 2 waters. Total €50.

Was always the best for me in Purmerend!! but unfortunately now every time I think about trying it again, it's like I'm eating old meat, a strange taste and smell, it doesn't seem fresh. I've been trying again and again for a year or so, but I'm always disappointed. So now I don't regret it anymore. It has really deteriorated dramatically.

This tough minced meat sandwich with a kilo of tomato was 11 euros.... dissappointing

At Babylon you can always enjoy honest and delicious food. I have been coming there for at least 30 years and I always feel welcomed as a guest. You can enjoy yourself at Babylon. Highly recommended for everyone.

Thuis laten bezorgen is in het weekend een hopeloze zaak, wachttijden van wel meer dan 2 uur. Je kan ze dan telefonisch ook niet meer bereiken. Heb dit al een paar keer gehad. Jammer dat ze gewoon niet eerlijk zijn in de wachttijden, dan kan je zelf bepalen of je meer dan 2 uur wil wachten.

Nou dus ikke van Momus afkomen, kei gezellig witte wel, nog effe vreten en naar huis. Komen we daar aan, die Turk zegt dat ie alleen nog durum doner verkoopt of een broodje kebab. Ikke voor de grap zegge da ik een babylon wil, hij nie kunnen lachen en mij tent uitjagen. Ik was respectoos zijn tegenover zijn zaak en cultuur dus moest maken da ik weg kwam daar. Die maat van mij mocht blijven dus hij 2 durum doners bestellen, dus ook inne voor mij (nie zegge tege hem). Uiteindelijk toch een durum doner gekregen buiten. Dik koud en er was al een hap uit genomen, ellende... Zoveel sambal zat erin dat je daarmee de hele noord- en zuidpool mee kon opwarmen. Verder stonden er wel genoeg stoelen binnen dus 2 sterren voor de sfeer.

We waited over 1.45 hours for our order. Would take an hour. Called after waiting 1 hour and he was just on his way. It was delivered 45 minutes later, even though it is a 10-minute drive at most. Food was lukewarm. Delivery man said he had no change and after I said I didn't have any smaller change, he spontaneously had change. Long wait for lukewarm food and a delivery person who wants to get an extra tip by saying he has no change.

The prices are sky-high: 2 shawarma pitah breads, 2 cheese pitah breads & 2 soft drinks €35.00 Three people busy working, 1 man friendly but busy calling and 1 man constantly looking at his smartphone and shouting all kinds of things through the shop with a loud voice and ill-mannered manner and then standing in front of the entrance of the building to smoke. And then the ringtone from home is heard loudly throughout the business all the time. No, next time real Lamb Shawarma at Hassan from Safrana and make your own sandwiches at home.

I ordered a calzone of lamb when the second bite was in my mouth. I called the restaurant and was able to get a new one, which I obviously no longer want, or I was able to get a credit voucher. If I want my money back I have to arrange it myself with poor service delivered to my home, I am not used to this from Babylon. I have ordered before but this was the last time. Kind regards, Thijs

Great lamb shawarma served with nice music

Babylon is great, easily one of, if not the best, place to sit and share a meal with friends in Purmerend. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable but most importantly the service is brilliant. The staff here are as kind as they are generous. The menu has allergen information clearly labelled but the staff weren't entirely communicable in regards to said allergen requirements. The price is expensive imo, even for Amsterdam but this is likely because the portions are HUGE and the quality of the food is up there too. All in all, this is one of the warmest/friendliest places in Purmerend; I would definitely recommend it. Try the Kip and or Shoarma calzone and make sure you enjoy the sauces they bring to the table too, they're homemade and taste incredible!

Good shawarma place if you fancy a nice fatty bite! The menu is almost the same as other places, but what makes them unique is that the food is just so good. Service is great because as soon as you walk in they welcome you with open arms!

What a cozy tent. Cozy decoration and music. Service is super friendly and the food was delicious. I had a chicken calzone and there was plenty of sauce. Especially recommended with the spicy onions!

The food and service are fine. But a lot of noise in the restaurant caused by the delivery service that runs through the tent. But maybe that comes with the type of restaurant.

This is by far the best shawarma place in Purmerend. Quality comes first... they have been around for decades and for good reason.

Shoarma dish, lots of shawarma, lots of fries, but that's it! Lettuce doesn't hold anything and vegetables are a few pieces of sour carrot from a pot. Definitely not worth the money!
