A large, tasty kapsalon for only 11.50; I barely managed to finish it. The sauces are also good, the interior is nice, and the toilets are very clean.

I ate here recently. I had requested not to add too much garlic sauce, but I received a bowl full of it, so you couldn't even taste the meat. Moreover, I find the prices too expensive. Further down the road, there is a place called Marioshwarma which is cheaper and tastes better too.

I've been eating kapsalons for over 20 years and have been to many places, both in the Netherlands and abroad. So you can imagine I've had quite a few, but believe me, folks, the best kapsalon in Rotterdam and the surrounding area is here, where kapsalon was invented. I generally find shawarma meat everywhere a bit too tough, tasteless, or just barely, but at El Aviva, everything falls into place. Well-seasoned, tender, and definitely not dry. The garlic sauce is just right. The fries are crispy and well-fried. If I may offer one criticism, it's that I thought there was a bit too much garlic sauce, which slightly diminished the overall experience, but all in all, I had a truly delicious meal here. The salad is also nice and crispy and fresh. My only regret, as a kapsalon fanatic, is that I didn't go here sooner. Now I have good reasons to travel to Rotterdam more often. The staff was also very friendly and I felt very comfortable in this cozy, clean shop!

I've been a regular customer for years and I'm glad you're back! The halal lamb shawarma is truly delicious, tender, and full of flavor. The garlic sauce is mild, thick, and creamy, just the way I like it. It's great that you can add extra garlic sauce and sambal at the table, so everyone can achieve their own perfect balance of flavors. The staff and owner are super friendly and flexible: everything can and will be arranged for you. If something isn't to your liking, you simply get a new portion or the problem is resolved immediately. I think the shawarma here is truly the best and I highly recommend it!

What a wonderful experience! The restaurant looks beautiful and well-maintained, and the service was top-notch: friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. We dined at a place that's truly iconic for many: this is where the kapsalon was born. I ordered a shawarma sandwich and asked if the salad could be served separately in a container—no problem at all, super nice. The sauce and sambal were neatly served separately in bottles on a tray at the table. Details like that really make a difference. We also enjoyed a delicious, fresh pizza. All in all, a place where quality, history, and service come together. Absolutely recommended, and a truly trendy shawarma place!

They say the kapsalon was created here for the first time. The kapsalon is okay, with a lot of garlic sauce and very little meat. It's mainly a bowl of fries. If you want fries with some doner salad, a tiny layer of cheese, and an absurd amount of garlic, this is the place to be. If you ask for sambal, you won't get it either.

Unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. The Turkish pizza only had iceberg lettuce. I asked if it had any onions and other things that are supposed to be on a Turkish pizza, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The gentleman was very friendly and nice, though.

Really good kapsalon but a little bit on the expensive side. The place has recently been renovated so it's very clean and modern. The owner is also very friendly but expect to pay 11-12 eur for a small kapsalon with shoarma meat.

When I’m craving kapsalon, I always go specifically to Shoarma El Aviva, because they are the inventors of kapsalon and, of course, because they make delicious kapsalon. After a long time, they are finally open again, and I ate my delicious kapsalon there again today. The owner and staff are also so friendly. From the inventor of the kapsalon to the dirtiest kapsalon in all of Rotterdam. I'm warning you, don't go here unless you want food poisoning. For every customer who watches their kapsalon being made there... They just re-fry the fries that have already cooled down. How can you be so stingy? Yuck.

I'm thrilled that El Aviva has reopened! I had the original kapsalon here, and you can really taste that this is where it all began. A perfect balance of flavors: crispy fries, tender meat, fresh salad, and of course, that delicious melted cheese on top. Everything tastes authentic and prepared with care. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, and you can really feel the Rotterdam pride in this dish. This is still my go-to place for kapsalon; it tastes better nowhere else. Kudos to the super friendly staff and the beautiful shop. Absolutely recommended!

This is the birthplace of Rotterdam's national icon, the one and only hair salon, original with shawarma as it should be, nothing more, nothing less. The negative reviews we see here clearly don't know or they are really clueless what this place stands for. They should really give this man a Trademark for this delicious invention. Food that someone puts their heart and mind into is more appreciated than somewhere where you just get everything without respect and quality, so think first before you dismiss something as negative.

Don't go here... Worst kapsalon ever; all I taste is sambal. The meat is flavorless. The fries aren't cooked through. The salad is just lettuce. Plus, it's a bit pricey.

Never again for me, the dirtiest kapsalon, the fries were hard and cold, I called and they said yes, I'm at work.

Unfortunately not what it used to be anymore. For years this was THE place to find a hair salon. But the quality has deteriorated and there are better alternatives today.

This is the birthplace of Kapsalon, so if you're a regular kapsalon enjoyer, this one should definitely be on your aluminium bucketlist. I opted for the Jumbo shoarma kapsalon, it was delicious. The two most iconic parts of Kapsalon, cheese and salad, stood out for me in this dish. Fries could have been a tiny bit crispier but it did not hinder my experience in any way. The atmosphere was what you would expect from a place in Schiedam, bonus points for the kapsalon origin story on the menu's. Would definitely come back!

Last night we walked the Rotterdam nightwalk with a large group. Near the end we were very hungry. Even though we were with a large group, we received a warm welcome. The chairs were moved around a bit and everyone was able to sit. We had a delicious meal and we reached the finish line in good spirits.

I am a huge fan of Kapsalon so I had to try it at the birthplace of the dish! Located in the west ride of Rotterdam in Delfshaven on the busy street of Schiedamseweg. Cozy place with 4-5 tables. We ordered a Large Kapsalon Shoarma. This came with fries, meat, melted cheese, lettuce and garlic sauce. Nice taste with the meat and the fries were the right amount of crispiness. Glad I got to try this culinary genius at the place where the dish was founded! Also nice employees and you can feel the family driven aspect here.

Unfortunately, no shawarma from the rotisserie spit, which I expected after seeing the documentary where the first hair salon was founded.

After a long time, I ate a pizza here yesterday and I got a pizza where the dough was 75% burnt (black). Hopefully something will be done to prevent the pizzas from burning.

I have ordered a lot from them and they are good but I ordered an order now and it is not good at all. There is no sauce with the pizza and also the pizza is stuck together. The cheese and all the contents are stuck in the pizza carton. It is not good.

Gelukkig is hier de kapsalon alleen uitgevonden, qua smaak is het niet te nassen. Zelfs Has heeft 100x betere kapsalon dan dit. Geen saus, slappe patat en smaakloos oude vlees. Voor een betere raad ik eerder Jaffa aan.

Waren in de buurt en vonden dat we de originele kapsalon eens moeten eten. Jammer dat het wordt geserveerd in een aluminium bakje in plaats van in een aardewerken ovenschaal zoals bij kebab Saray in Genk. Voor de rest was alles dik in orde👍

Als de plek waar de kapsalon is uitgevonden doet het echt zijn eer aan. Lekkerdere kapsalon ga je bij geen enkele snackbar vinden. Daarnaast is de uitvinder van de Kapsalon een gezellige heer die meestal wel aan is voor een praatje, dus ik zou het echt aanraden als pelgrimsoord voor iedereen die ooit een kapsalon gegeten heeft

De original. En voor een rede. Helemaal uit Den Haag gefietst hiervoor. En dat was het waard.

Super lekker beste shoarma van nederland en uitvinder kapsalon

Als veteraan maaltijdbezorger heb ik door de jaren heen veel frieten kapsalon bezorgd, en natuurlijk ook zelf gegeten. Dus wat doe je als je dan een keer in Rotterdam bent? Dan ga je natuurlijk langs bij het restaurant waar de friet kapsalon zijn oorsprong heeft! Het is een absolute aanrader, niet alleen om een stukje geschiedenis, maar de 'enige echte' kapsalon is ook gewoon van topkwaliteit!

De shoarma zat in een pan en werd vervolgens verwarmd. Niet aan zo’n spit dus. Er zaten harde stukjes tussen. Niet echt smakelijk en echt veel te duur, 10,50 voor een broodje shoarma.

Na een rit van 2u vanuit Antwerpen goed aangekomen en gastvrij ontvangen. Propere zaak! Heerlijk kapsalon gegeten! Een bezoek aan Rotterdam is niet compleet zonder een bezoek aan El Aviva.
