Silk Sushi & Asian Dining in Centrum

Very atmospheric restaurant, and truly one of my favorite sushi spots.

The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere inside is very good, and I found the decor very beautiful. The food wasn't always like in the photos, hence the 4 stars. I came here for lunch, but will come back for dinner.

Fantastic sushi! We thought so. Delicious specials from the chef on the "conveyor belt." Nice concept if you're seated next to it. For me, the only downside: it would be nice if drinks were included in the "all you can eat arrangement." But that's just my opinion. The sushi is the absolute highlight! Otherwise, the service was just okay.

The price-quality ratio is off sushi looks like supermarket sushi and dessert consisted of ice cream, Haribo candy, and some canned pineapple the staff is helpful though

First of all, I find it very strange that my previous review was removed. My boyfriend and I ate here on a Monday. Unfortunately, in our experience, the food was not fresh. After our visit, we both became quite ill. That is, of course, very unpleasant, and therefore we will not be coming here again.

Never eaten out for such a short time. Food tasteless, the staff at the McDrive are friendlier. The dessert buffet is fun for kids, namely candy frogs and gummy bears. Now home for a beer to wash it down, ciaooo

The sushi looked nicer and tastier on the menu than it actually was. Some of the meat in the sushi seemed to have been sitting outside for a while. There was a lot of choice in the dessert section, but everything tasted stale except for the ice cream. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come here again.

Upon entering, we were only asked if we were coming to eat; after that, we received no service at all. We were not asked what we wanted to drink or given an explanation of how to order food. Once we figured it out ourselves and ordered drinks, it took 20 minutes before we received them, while the food had been there for a long time. The older woman behind the bar was only on her phone, and the other woman and she were only occupied with each other, even after asking multiple times if I could ask something.

We ate here with my boyfriend, but unfortunately, it was very disappointing. What stood out most was that there were an awful lot of sauces on the sushi. That seemed mainly intended to mask the flavor rather than complement it. Moreover, the sushi did not seem freshly prepared; the tempura was fried far too dark, and the meat was rubbery and completely overcooked. Unfortunately, we both got quite sick afterwards. Of course, we cannot say with certainty what caused that, but after this experience, we will not be coming back here. Very disappointing.

The sushi was tasty, but the pieces were large with a lot of rice. The sushi on the conveyor belt wasn't much to write home about. The side dishes were tasty and diverse, including those at the dessert bar.

A real sushi restaurant. Sushi good, but fine dining very poor. The Asian food was very bad. An average Chinese restaurant scores much better in my book. Stick to what you know. Still almost €100. Shame. Never again.

Had a delicious lunch here. The food tasted good. Friendly staff and the restaurant looked great and stylish. Definitely recommended. Next time we will come back for dinner, so we have more choices to order and can enjoy the dessert bar.

We were here yesterday, but unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. The staff came across as very unfriendly, and there was absolutely no welcoming atmosphere. You expect to feel welcome as a customer, but that was definitely not the case here. Due to the poor service and the cold attitude, I do not feel inclined to come and eat here again.

What is ordered is brought much too late or not at all, or is sometimes lukewarm. No interest in the guests, worthless service, lacking atmosphere. Not recommended.

Nice, well-maintained place. We were seated somewhere in the back in a corner with an extremely present family with children. Food and drinks flew everywhere. A shame. The sushi was okay, but the meat seemed like nothing.

Highly recommended! Lots of choice regarding dishes, tasty, the mini ribeye is highly recommended! The only minor downsides were that the ice cream tasted quite cheap and seemed chemical. The flavors on the ice cream plates didn't match either. The man who greeted us asked from 5 meters away if we had a reservation when I could barely hear him. Fortunately, he was very hospitable and the staff was very quick.

We dined here with a group of fourteen, and unfortunately, the service was utterly disappointing. The host who served us was rude and awkward in his choice of words from the start. His communication felt impolite and awkward. We also didn't receive any explanation about the iPad. Because I wanted to know if the meat was halal, I politely walked up to the bar to inquire. Instead of a normal response, I was rudely brushed off with, "I'll be right over to your table and explain." A little later, I was again told to wait and curtly dismissed. This happened twice, without any kindness or explanation. When he finally arrived at our table, something happened that I found truly unprofessional: while we were fourteen people sitting there, he shouted across the table that I had a halal dietary request. This was done in a manner that showed absolutely no discretion or respect. He told me that I "was NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE THIS, THIS, AND THIS!" Such personal dietary requests should be treated normally and respectfully, not loudly announced across a full table. All of this made us feel very uncomfortable. Good service is all about respect, communication, and professionalism, and unfortunately, we didn't experience that here. NEVER AGAIN SILK.

Today I drove all the way from Almelo to Silk in Apeldoorn. I can tell you one thing: it was NOT worth it. The sushi didn't seem fresh, the rice was hard and dry, and the ingredients weren't fresh. The "hot" dishes weren't warm either. I've eaten at several (sushi) restaurants, but this one tasted absolutely awful. I left after 45 minutes, even though you have 2.5 hours to eat. When I paid, the owner/manager asked if I enjoyed it, to which my girlfriend and I indicated that the food wasn't good and we were dissatisfied. The gentleman replied, "Oh, yes, I can." He couldn't even engage in a proper conversation, ask what could be improved, or apologize for the inconvenience. Very unprofessional and unfriendly to customers. The waitresses, on the other hand, were very friendly. Very disappointed. A waste of time and money. Not worth repeating and definitely not recommended!

A beautiful restaurant that looks cozy from the outside as well as inside. The sushi is truly delicious. We found the hot dishes lacking in quality meat, not quite tender, and the terriyaki wasn't as we'd expect it to be. It was salty instead of salty. We found all the dishes quite salty. The dessert buffet is a nice bonus.

The three of us went for dinner. Upon arrival, there was no one to greet us or show us to our seats. We stood there awkwardly for a while, constantly being stared at and ignored. Then we took matters into our own hands and went looking for a counter, but there wasn't one, so we stood there awkwardly again. A waitress greeted us and a man in a smart jacket and sloppy pants led us to a table. Upon arrival, we received no explanation about how to use the tablet. We then asked Mr. Sloppy Pants a question about the food, and he indicated he didn't have an answer. After this, we asked another server, who indicated he would pass it on to the kitchen staff. Mr. Sloppy Pants then returned to our table and said he was annoyed that we had asked the question (to which he didn't have an answer) to his colleague. Very unprofessional and ruined our entire experience. In the Randstad, we're not used to certain behavior like this! I would never come back here myself. It's also strange that almost all the sushi has wasabi on it, which made everything taste pretty much the same. The dessert section was also very poor.

I arrived at the restaurant but wasn't greeted. I had to go to a waitress and ask for a seat. No explanation was given about the tablet, which would have been helpful. The staff was very unfriendly; it felt like they were forced to work there. This made the experience very disappointing.

Good restaurant. Great atmosphere, good food. Sometimes you order something and never get it. Sometimes you get something you didn't order. It's like something was wrong with the order. The food was good, though. And everything was clean. However, the drinks were very expensive. The restroom doesn't have any safety barriers for the standing toilet. There was a confusion with our table code and with the food that was brought to our table, which was not ours. However, it was a really fine place, sushi was very good and the salads too. Warm dishes were great, stay away from fried food, not that great… Service was good! A bit overwhelming with many waiters. Nevertheless all with a smile and nice to talk to. Didn’t stay for dessert, but would come again :)

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The only downside was that I had to order the same thing three times, and it arrived only once because I'd lost the receipt a few times. It happens, but it's annoying. The dessert bar is very extensive.

I've been to Silk many times, both in Apeldoorn and Arnhem. I think Apeldoorn looks nicer in terms of atmosphere and interior, but I still prefer the sushi and hot dishes in Arnhem. It's definitely worth it.

We were disappointed. We had high expectations, but some dishes were prepared in unusual ways, so you couldn't really taste the real thing. Not all orders went well either, and we ended up getting it three times...

You shouldn't advertise specific opening hours on your website, only to turn me away at the door and ask me to come back later. Either move your hours, or make sure you can actually receive guests at the specified time. This is the fastest way to ensure someone never comes back.👎

The food was delicious and of good quality, except for the tempura shrimp and mini spring rolls, which were a bit greasy. Service upon arrival was mediocre; we were shown to a table without any explanation. A tablet was shoved in front of us, and we had to figure it out. Other guests after us did receive an explanation. There was plenty of choice, but the desserts were rather plain and limited.

Honestly, the food was so good, the chicken, meat, etc., wasn't good or was served cold. The Chinese man was genuinely angry and grumpy. If you don't like your job, do something else. Nice atmosphere, good waitresses, but that's about it. AND FIX YOUR ANNOYING TABLETS. THAT DOESN'T MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY. It shuts off or doesn't work 4 times in 3 minutes, and orders don't come in. A 1 out of 10, that one point for the atmosphere and waitresses, nothing more.

I finally visited Silk after hearing so many good things and it truly lived up to the hype. The atmosphere is calm, elegant, and beautifully styled. You can tell that a lot of thought went into every detail. The sushi was super fresh and full of flavor, and the lychee martini was honestly one of the best I’ve had. But what stood out the most was how kind and attentive the staff were. They made the whole experience feel so welcoming. Definitely a place I’ll come back to. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food in a beautiful, peaceful setting.

The food was served fairly quickly, sometimes it took a little longer, but it was also quite busy on a Sunday evening. The tablet was annoying, having to keep going back to the main menu to browse through all the dishes. The dishes were okay, nothing special. We missed some more typical shrimp dishes, like garlic shrimp. Sometimes shrimp dishes were made with very strange (bulging?) shrimp. There was a chicken dish with orange flavor, in a homemade, slightly spicy sauce. I don't like spicy, but I gave it a try anyway. No heat at all, no orange flavor, and it tasted like reduced tomato puree. I ordered the sticky chicken twice, and a different flavor twice. A lot of the chicken resembled frozen meatballs. Occasionally, it was also quite soggy. I saved room for the dessert buffet. Meh, the ice creams weren't anything special (including Smurf ice cream (?!), stroopwafel ice cream, and an indefinable flavor. (No explanation, tasted it, but tasted nothing). Chocolate fountain, tons of candy (why, it's not dessert), and then a refrigerator with small pastries and such. Very chemically flavored and/or tasteless; even the melon had no flavor. There was a whipped cream dispenser in the same refrigerator, its spout full of blobs of whipped cream. So, there's still a lot of room for improvement before you can truly enjoy a good meal here. There are many better sushi restaurants in Apeldoorn that are much better in terms of food, service, and price-quality ratio.

When you order for €70, you expect napkins in the bag. You also expect your sushi to be different, not just thrown in a box. Some have sauce, some don't. You can just tell it was made hastily.

We were a bit disappointed with the food. The sushi was excellent! The other dishes were mediocre, and the udon noodles were cold. The atmosphere and service were good. But you really come for the food.

When we arrived, there was no one at the entrance. We were finally greeted by a waiter, a man in his late 20s to mid-30s, who was clearly in quite a hurry. After searching for a while, we were shown to a table that was, with some difficulty, put together to be baby-friendly. By the time we were finally able to sit down, the waiter was already busy with other customers. We didn't get any explanation about the tablet. We were about 5 minutes early for our reservation and were still waiting for two people. So I asked if the time had started yet, or if it was later. I was interrupted halfway through: "The time has started, because we're busy." Understandable, but not in the way it was presented. A high chair was offered, but of course, we were specifically told to put the stroller behind something, otherwise it would be in the way. When we finally started eating, things weren't much better. The first drinks were violently slammed onto the table by the blonde waitress. It felt a bit like she was being forced to work. After briefly grabbing the baby from the highchair for a snack, an older man with glasses walked by. I think he was a bit hasty, because he kicked the highchair aside. He walked on without hesitation. This happened again a little later, causing the folded stroller, which was neatly placed under the table (since it would otherwise have been in the way of the staff), to fall over. I think the highchair was still in the way. Getting to the desserts was also an adventure. It was a bit of a search without explanation, but we eventually found it. The same thing happened with paying. The food was fine, but it all felt hastily prepared. All in all, not a great experience. The team could definitely use some customer service and hospitality training. 3/10

Delicious sushi according to the connoisseur. (My wife) I don't eat sushi, but I enjoyed many other dishes. Plenty of choice. I find the price high, especially since the drinks are included, (otherwise 5*) But the quality of the food is worth a good price... Easy to reserve via Google. Ordering with the tablet is also fine. Toilets were neat and clean. Definitely worth repeating.

We didn't like it this time. The sushi rice was cooked too long and therefore tasted weak. It's just too expensive for the mediocre quality you get. Too bad...not recommended.

The food is fantastic! Even if you have it delivered to your home. I give the service 3 stars because I recently ordered food to pick up at 17:00, but I didn't get it until 17:35. Otherwise a nice restaurant to eat.

Had a great meal last night. The restaurant has a modern, atmospheric and stylish interior where you can relax immediately. There is plenty of choice in food and drinks, everything is served with care and quickly. The atmosphere is super relaxed and you can choose your own dessert from the open buffet. Recommended for a fun night out!

During a weekend away we ate here, there are several all in sushi restaurants in the center. For a fixed price 2 hours of food (excl drinks) and we had a nice and good meal. We sat next to a belt where you could also grab sushi, and you could order 3 dishes per 15 min via the tablet. There was a dessert buffet with lots of sweets, sweets, ice cream and some pastries/mini desserts.

We had a delicious meal here tonight! The restaurant looks nice and has a cozy atmosphere. We found the sushi and other dishes delicious and of good quality. The desserts were also great! Recommended!

I'm not in the habit of writing bad reviews and instead I simply don't go back anymore but in this case I think I should mention that I had a rethink on the quality of the food. Not only are you hit with an annoying 15-minute-waiting period between a few small dishes, but the meat dishes are a bit underwhelming and have caused me some trouble later on several occasions if you catch my drift. I have seen raving comments on the sushi but I find them to be very loose and I usually remove most of the (cheap) rice. The salmon is very low quality grade and only cooked or 'flamed' versions of it look edible. I am not claiming to be an expert on rice grains, but it's just not 'it' or what I think good sticky sushi rice should be like. I also think it's missing the rice vinegar and wasabi but perhaps that's just me remembering what sushi could or should look, feel and taste like. All in all, there are better options around, especially if you consider that for the same amount of money you could have 5 course dinners at much better restaurants in Apeldoorn.

Food did not arrive or was bad and overcooked. Ambience of the place is very cozy and friendly staff. I had the idea that they were short-staffed, because the service did not know where to put the food on the tables. While they had put something Opening hours from the same Tray table. And they walked 4 rounds before it arrived on our table. Too bad..

Last night I had dinner at your restaurant, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. We had to wait over an hour for the first round. When I pointed this out, we were told to reorder. In the end, we only got one and a half rounds of food in the hour and a half that followed. The meat was also completely dried out. As compensation, we only got a verbal apology and a €10 discount, which I find inappropriate given the poor service and quality. Unfortunately, I will not be returning here. ( I can understand it somewhere, maybe because of the crowds, but waiting an hour for 2 types of sushi.. and meat … )

Friendly staff but only when you see them or call for service via tablet. The tablet froze a few times and had to go find staff to help as no one was around to flag down. It was a quiet weekday evening. Food was super lovely just a shame it's 3 items each then you have to wait 15 minutes before you can order more so only go if you have the time. Kitchen closing at 2100 means start your meal no later than 1900!

I had a really delicious meal! One of the best sushi places in the area. The meat, unlike other AYCE restaurants, was super tender. The service was super friendly and the food came very quickly! I would definitely go there again :)

The food was undercooked. Also had absolutely no taste. I've been to Arnhem once and had a good experience. Came back to try it in Apeldoorn. Never again, sincerely. Never experienced anything so bad. Shame!
