Not a pleasant service and utter chaos! Our experience was incredibly frustrating from start to finish. Despite arriving before other guests, we watched as they were served first. While three staff members meticulously cleaned a single table, we were left sitting at a dirty table without menus. We constantly had to struggle to get any attention from the waitstaff whenever we needed something. We had to ask twice just to get our tea, and the breakfast itself was a letdown. There wasn't enough bread served, and the food was mediocre at best. To top it all off, we didn't even receive a receipt at the end. I absolutely do not recommend this place.

I felt the warmth of my homeland in Rotterdam; anyone passing through should definitely stop by. The staff were very friendly, and the hot tea and muhlama (a type of Turkish tea) were a must-try. The breakfast spread was very filling and delicious. The crispy bagel was buttery and incredibly delicious.

Complaint about service at Simit & Cheese I recently went to Simit & Cheese with my sisters. I specifically requested that one of them have chicken pasta to go. When we finished eating and I asked about the pasta, I was told that it hadn't been passed on to the kitchen. When I asked how that was possible, I was told, "We've been working all day." I found this a strange reaction, especially since it was very quiet in the restaurant at the time. Placing an order is a fundamental part of the job and should be done carefully, even during quieter times. To my surprise, they then rudely said, "Then you should go somewhere else." I find this behavior very unprofessional and rude. Customer friendliness and service should always be paramount. This experience has unfortunately made me decide not to return.

We went today with our family. Some of the food was stale. One of the staff was not friendly at all and their attitude was rude. 😞

The first employee to take our orders, a woman in her 40s, was quite grumpy. She removed us from the table we first requested, her communication was inconsiderate, and she was completely unfriendly, making us feel quite uncomfortable. I had envisioned a more pleasant setting for a meeting with a guest from Germany, whom I hadn't seen in 10 years. We went based on Google ratings, and it wasn't a pleasant experience at all. We didn't enjoy it at all. However, I must say that the other young female employees in their 20s were extremely polite.

I love this place. The food is delicious and plentiful. You can find a wide variety of dishes and drinks. I especially recommend the Menemen (it comes with 1 Simit), and the smoothies are also delicious. I find the prices very consistent with the quantity and quality of the food.

The worst breakfast and service I've ever had here! We ordered breakfast, which normally includes unlimited bread. Well, the breakfast arrived without any bread, just simit. We asked for bread, and the staff member nonchalantly told us they were out of bread. How do you not tell us this beforehand? How do you serve breakfast without bread? Besides, menemen tastes like water. You only get one slice of tomato and one slice of cucumber per person. Honestly, the worst service ever. And the breakfast was the most basic, pathetic Turkish breakfast. Don't waste your money and eat somewhere else.

Very disappointed. I came from Antwerp for breakfast after seeing this place on TikTok. Videos are taken in other locations, like along the canal, and here you arrive at a completely different view (street). The staff was very pushy. I didn't even dare to make changes to my order because of her sour face. I also asked for extra lemonade, but I wasn't allowed to order it because my menu included tea. They just walked on when I asked my mom if she wanted anything extra. Not recommended!

The food was great today, but I just want to mention that there's a really nasty vibe among the staff. Several girls are being very mean to one woman. It's truly bullying and embarrassing to see this happening in the workplace, right in front of customers. I hope something is done about this.

Simit & Cheese – Delicious and well-presented breakfast in South Rotterdam This was my third visit to Simit & Cheese at Beijerlandselaan 44A, and it was another wonderful experience. The breakfast was plentiful, varied, and well-presented. Everything we had was fresh and delicious, and the presentation was neat. For €55 for two, you get more than enough – the price-quality ratio is excellent. The atmosphere is cozy and modern, and the staff at our table were friendly and attentive. I did notice that some of the staff seemed a bit distant or self-assured, but thankfully, that didn't detract from our own service experience. Conclusion: Whether you're in the mood for a late breakfast or a leisurely brunch, Simit & Cheese in South Rotterdam is the place to be. I don't know if it's traditional or authentic – but it's certainly delicious and well-presented. Highly recommended!

This place is definitely recommended! We had a really great meal here. We went on Sunday and when we arrived we had to queue for a while for a place, but this took maybe 20 minutes at most. The interior is beautiful, but I personally missed something of the authentic Turkish atmosphere. There is a separate play area for children, which I thought was a very good detail. All the staff is very friendly and the orders are brought quite quickly despite the fact that it is very busy inside. My company had a piece of eggshell in the dish, which was a bit less, but otherwise it was absolutely delicious. We chose the 'Super Turkish breakfast' for 2 people and it was definitely super! You really get value for money and everything was delicious. When choosing this breakfast it also said that unlimited tea was included, so we actually expected a teapot, but this was not the case. When you asked a waitress for tea you did get a new glass of tea, so that was fine, but would have preferred a teapot.

Today (July 7) we had a nice meal here at Beijerlandselaan. What hardworking ladies who served us, also 🙏🏻 Turkish cuisine is my favorite. ❤️

When you arrive, it seems like they are pushy; 'Go eat as quickly as possible, pay and get out' Review 1 year ago (2023) A while ago you sometimes had to wait a long time for someone to come so you could give the order. They have improved this, are much faster with the service now. If you want to eat/drink well I recommend this place.

Horrible, Overpriced Breakfast – Embarrassed I Brought My Fiancée Here This was, without exaggeration, one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. I took my fiancée here for what was supposed to be a nice breakfast, and I ended up completely embarrassed. The food looked like dog food, sloppy and inedible — and to make it worse, there were ants crawling on the plate. That’s not just unprofessional, it’s disgusting. My fiancée refused to eat, and honestly, I couldn’t blame her. I felt awful that I had brought her to a place like this. The drinks were just as bad. The orange juice was clearly watered down, with the glass filled mostly with ice, leaving barely any juice at all. It was obvious they were cutting corners wherever they could.

We went for breakfast during the holiday, 2 of us were opportunists, the breakfast was the same, a mixed breakfast, nothing extra and they only charged 27.50 euros per person for that day. I would be ashamed and would never go again in my life. Unfortunately, we are the same everywhere....

I sat for 1/1.5 hours and we heard all the details about which staff in the company get along well, which ones are in conflict or who says what behind whom, this is not a pleasant situation. I think you need to come together as a team and solve the problems. We did not see any disrespect towards us, the food was good, but the problems among you should not be reflected to the customers. At the insistence of my best friend I went here anyway. Upon arrival the terrace was under construction, which meant that loud drilling noises could be heard inside. The food was generous in portion, but some of the containers with cheese and olives were hard and tasted old - probably prepared a long time in advance. The egg was fried too long and was stuck to the pan. The staff seemed uninterested and spoke broken Dutch. In addition, there were flies everywhere, which makes you doubt the hygiene in the kitchen while eating.

Food was average. Their TikTok pledges breakfast with a river view but this was just an indoor venue, which is misleading. I went with my Turkish friends and as a tourist myself, the waitress would solely focus on my Turkish friends and ignore my existence. She also came to ask for my friend’s social media details just after serving the food, which distracted us from eating the warm food. At the end, she came to ask for reviews but again solely focused on my Turkish friends. So here is my unwarranted review, food was okay but the atmosphere is better if you are Turkish, otherwise the service will likely neglect you ..
