Sjiek aan de Amstel in Wijk 15 Dorpscentrum

Hoe is het toch mogelijk dat als je nagenoeg alles voor elkaar hebt, je patat serveert wat moddervet is en in een lullig klein mandje zit met allemaal kleine kruimels van oude patat wat al te lang in de pan heeft gezeten serveert. Patat kost nagenoeg niks. Zorg gewoon dat er genoeg is.

The food is excellent. Most of the staff are very friendly. The Gypsy Kings playing all evening was a bit much. More variety in the music would be nice!

Today we were having drinks at sjiek aan de amstel. It's so lovely here... we love the waitress she has red hair and is called something like merlot. Her hair colour is the same as her name. She's a cutie. Furthermore the cocktails were really a big 10+. They were so good that we got a little drunk. Had a great time. We love everything here!! Greetings the drunk mothers<3

Very disappointing experience. We ordered a couple of beers at the table, but after 20 minutes, the waitress came back and said they never received our order. We then had to wait another 20 minutes because the restaurant was supposedly “busy”—even though most of the waitstaff were just standing around chatting with each other. Unfortunately, this felt like clear disorganization and poor service.

On my way to my next bike tour stop, I passed by Sjiek aan de Amstel and ordered a beer and the appetizer which i really liked! Nice staff & chilly location. If i ever have the chance again to go, i would for sure order the same dish

Very bed service we order a place for mother day they put us in the heat when we have a baby from 9 months when I asked to change a table the owner attacked me 😞, I decide not to give back because my son he ordered a place and I want to respect him when he came he saw that they make mistake he tried to correct that woman she continued to be nasty to us but my son hold himself together and say nothing m Ben je lid us wait for More than one hour tell somebody came to take a order we set it to them between order high tea I didn't want to give it to us he said we get very bad quality looking and cheap food soep was completely water half sandwich that was really shame for the place I will not recommend you to go there

Been to Sjiek 3 times now and had a negative experience 3 times. The last time my girlfriend and I sat down at a table and were completely ignored. It wasn't busy so that wasn't the problem. The dirty things of the people in front of us were still there and were not cleaned up, while the empty tables around us were cleaned. We had been waiting for a long time and still no one came to ask what we wanted. At one point an acquaintance apparently came to sit down (judging by the exaggerated behavior of the staff), he was helped immediately and even got something to drink while we were not even allowed to order yet. Then we got up and sat down at Maak aan de Amstel where we could order within a minute and the service was great. So it can be done that way.

Food was ok but service was very slow. I asked menu several times and it took more than 15min to bring. Bringing food was also very slow.

My wife and I sat down on the sunny terrace at 11:50 today after a walk. We ordered 2 cappuccinos, a piece of apple pie and a toasted sandwich for my wife, she doesn't like sweets. The lady who served us firmly said that no sandwich could be ordered because lunch can only be ordered from 12:00. I was completely done with it right away. 10 minutes, really? At 11:55 the lunch order from the table next to us was taken. This was served at 12:05. At 12:15 the lady came back to our table to ask if we were still interested in a sandwich. Of course not, the cappuccino and apple pie were already gone. What incredible nonsense, this. We visit your terrace, we come to spend money with you, why this arrogant attitude and rules. Would it perhaps have been an idea to place the order for the sandwich at 11:50 and serve it at 12:00? We notice that after the Corona period, the catering industry in the Netherlands is doing much too well again. Money is being made like water again and we can be grateful that we are 'allowed' to use the terrace of Sjiek aan de Amstel and 'are allowed' to spend our money there. However, this was the last time. Next time we will visit a terrace where we will be welcomed with open arms and where we can simply order a sandwich at 11:50. Such a missed opportunity....

Mijn vrouw en ik gingen vandaag na een wandeling om 11:50 op het zonnige terras zitten. We bestelde 2 cappuccino een stukje appeltaart en een tosti voor mijn vrouw, zij houd niet zo van zoet. De dame die ons serveerde zei resoluut dat er geen tosti besteld kon worden omdat de lunch pas vanaf 12:00 besteld kan worden. Ik was er gelijk al helemaal klaar mee. 10 minuten, echt? Om 11:55 werd de lunchbestelling van de tafel naast ons opgenomen. Deze werd om 12:05 uitgeserveerd. Om 12:15 kwam de dame bij onze tafel terug om te vragen of we nog interesse hadden in een tosti. Uiteraard niet, de cappuccino en de appeltaart was immers al op. Wat een ongelofelijk geneuzel, dit. We bezoeken uw terras, we komen geld bij u uitgeven, waarom deze arrogante houding en regeltjes. Zou het wellicht een idee zijn geweest om de bestelling van de tosti wel te noteren om 11:50 en deze om 12:00 uit te serveren? We merken aan alles dat het na de Corona periode weer veel te goed gaat met de horeca in Nederland. Er wordt weer geld verdient als water en we mogen dankbaar zijn dat we van het terras van Sjiek aan de Amstel gebruik 'mogen' maken en daar ons geld 'mogen' uitgeven. Echter was dit de laatste keer. De volgende keer bezoeken we een terras waar we met open armen ontvangen worden, en waar we gewoon ook om 11:50 een tosti kunnen bestellen. Zo’n gemiste kans dit…..

Mijn schoonzus,die 83 jaar werd,had gereserveert voor een middagborrel voor 50 man,en zou blijven eten met haar familie van 20 personen.Alles besproken en in gevoerd op de I-pad.Op de datum van het feest wisten ze nergens van,de eerste gasten kregen te horen,hier is geen feest is,zal wel bij Geniet aan de Amstel zijn....paniek alom...zijn verhaal wezen halen bij de persoon die met ons het feest heeft besproken,die zei,ik weet nergens van,het zegt mijn niets...Gelukkig was er geen andere reservering voor deze dag,dus werd er snel een serveerster geregeld die de middag toch aangenaam maakte,en toch nog voor een bevredigend einde heeft gezorgd. Kijk,..iedereen maakt fouten,maar wat mijn het meeste stak is,dat je zou verwachten dat bij aankomst iedereen in de stress schiet,van hoe heeft dit kunnen gebeuren,en er meteen duizendmaal excuus word gemaakt voor deze fout...maar niets daar van...deden erg laconiek van "het zal wel"....wat denk je dat dat met een dame doet die 83 jaar word en er een leuke dag van wil maken. Na aanspreken van de eigenaresse,richting het einde van de middag,dat ze wel eens haar excuus mag maken aan mijn schoonzus heeft ze dat alsnog gedaan....maar het was wel een beetje mosterd na de maaltijd. Zelf hadden mijn vrouw en ik ook geen leuke ervaring bij deze zaak....gingen bespreken voor ons 50 jarig huwlijksfeest....serveerster zij dat de persoon die daar over ging niet aanwezig was ,maar dat hij contact met ons op zal nemen....moet nog bellen...feest maar ergens anders gevierd. Al met al zal de score voor deze zaak wat mijn betreft niet zo hoog uit vallen zoals jullie zullen begrijpen.

Nice spot on the Amstel. Last weekend we parked three motorcycles next to the terrace and had a wonderful time. Worth repeating. Tasty flatbread by the way!

A lot of money for little food is outrageous, asking 14 euros for 2 sandwiches with a thin layer of carpaccio.

Wij hebben samen met Familie en vrienden hier een babyshower gehouden. Het is een fantastische belevenis geweest! Zowel zakelijk als persoonlijk zeer fijn kunnen overleggen wat de bedoeling was! Super vriendelijk personeel! Alles is perfect en naar afspraak verlopen! En er word prima met je mee gedacht.

We had a Christmas brunch here. Everything was served on 1 platter, including dessert and Christmas wreaths. The food was really not tasty. The soup in tiny mini bowls of which not even half was filled, but worse still the soup was lukewarm. The puff pastry parcels were raw at the bottom and completely collapsed. Bread with a sweet cream, really not tasty. Salmon 1 tray for 5 people tasted as if it came from a can. I can't imagine that the chef tasted this. For the vegetarians there were a few pieces of undercooked pumpkin with the same orange sauce that was served with the duck. I'm not a dessert fan so I won't say anything about that. All in all, this one platter cost 212.50 euros. I'm totally fine with everything being more expensive at Christmas, but this is a real shame. We did not report it on the spot so as not to spoil our and your Christmas day.

We took part in the Pop Quiz with friends. It was a lot of fun but also quite difficult at times. Also ate here before the quiz. Steak and fries, very tasty. Good atmosphere. There were 27 teams that participated, so there was a lot of enthusiasm. We will participate again.

A few days ago we had a delicious lunch at Sjek Restaurant. The food was fresh and flavorful, and the presentation was beautiful. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience very pleasant. The view of the river gave an extra relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended and definitely worth repeating!

Beautiful restaurant, good food, but the service could be better. We ordered drinks for the second time but they never came. When we wanted to order, it was not entirely clear to us what ingredient was in the dish. The waiter went to inquire but did not come back with the answer. After a while he asked if we wanted to order and we indicated that we were still waiting for the answer. Only then did he start asking. When we were done we had to ask twice if we could pay.

When we look at the price-quality ratio of the food, we rate it as very good. The service was excellent, very customer-oriented and friendly. With expertise! The atmosphere had something to do with the outdoor location on the water. Between traffic and the Amstel. That can be a bit more pleasant and a bit more shielded. We assess this as sufficient.

Super nice tent, we came here for dinner with 14 people. We had to eat quickly because we had to go to a party afterwards. When we reported this to the waitress, we responded perfectly and everything was brought to the table quickly. The food was excellent and we were very satisfied. Definitely worth repeating and then we will stay a little longer 😂

Gister zijn wij super leuk ontvangen op het terras van Sjiek. We kwamen voor 2 wijntjes en kregen er desgevraagd water en ijs bij. Er werden zelfs plaids voor ons gehaald. Wat zaten wij lekker droog en gezellig, vuurtje naast ons werd aangestoken. Thanks, crew van Sjiek!

Have room for a coffee and cake

Went to Sjiek on Monday evening, June 24. Super location and food was really good. Well, 1 minus point. It seemed like the kitchen couldn't handle the number of guests. We will definitely visit it again, but if the wait for the food takes more than 45 minutes before we even got our first drink, it is a restaurant that cannot cope with its success.

Nice place in Uithoorn. The sandwiches are excellent and the staff is friendly. The horseradish on the chicken was really not tasty, but it is indicated on the menu. Everything else was fine and to your liking.

Hier lekker met een klein groepje gelunched. Broodjes zijn lekker alleen niet veel vegetarische opties. Bediening is vriendelijk, niet te opdringerig. Gezellig ingericht en ook mogelijkheid om buiten te zitten.

De high wine is een aanrader! 5 wijnen met prachtige (wisselende) gerechtjes. Bij het dessert keuze uit zoet of kaas. Wij hadden beiden. Bij iedere wijn en gang kregen we uitleg. Heerlijke plek, goede bediening!!

Wij waren met 2 en kwamen voor een vroege maaltijd. Ik was hier nog niet geweest, dus was benieuwd. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen en konden direct gaan zitten. We kozen ervoor om aan het einde van het begingedeelte te gaan zitten. De zaal achter was nog niet echt gezellig (want het was laat in de middag, voor de meesten waarschijnlijk nog geen etenstijd). We begonnen met een Gevulde Artisjok (waar van alles bij zat), een verwennerij. En een Carpaccio, ook heerlijk klaargemaakt en lekker gesneden (niet te dun, maar zeker ook niet te dik). Voor de hoofdmaaltijd ging ik voor de zalm, met heerlijk krokant vel gebakken, op asperge's met een paar krieltjes en een mayonaise van goede kwaliteit. Zeker de moeite. Mijn nicht had trek in de Pulled chicken met friet & frietsaus. En ook dit zag er lekker uit, wat het ook was. We dronken hier een lekkere rode wijn bij, mijn excuses dat ik mij de naam/soort niet herinner. Ik had een foto moeten maken... Oh ja, buiten zitten kon ook, aan het water, maar het weer was er helemaal niet naar. Helaas. Misschien volgende keer.

Heel hèèl erg prijzig/duur, bediening slecht. Twee glazen rode wijn (er werd kleine hoeveelheid ingeschonken) en een portie bitterballen rekening was €22,80. Het glas rode wijn was nog voor de helft gevuld en er werd door de bediening al indringend aan mij gevraagd of ik nog wat te drinken wilde bestellen. Maar overgestoken naar restaurant "Geniet aan de Amstel", daar een portie bitterballen besteld en twee een zelfde soort glas rode wijn die voor 2/3 het glas vulde. Hier hebben wij €16,50 afgerekend wat een verschil met Sjiek is van €6,30 (verschil van 27%). De bediening bij "Geniet aan de Amstel" was overigens stukken stukken beter en erg correct.
