Fantastic!! Must try to believe! A friend and I had 2 lunches here while in town for the Awakenings festival last weekend. WOW! Absolute 3 star Michelin quality food, presentation and service with a casual, relaxed vibe and great outdoor seating. Our first lunch was 2 daily lunch specials (Euro 34 and a steal!) with beautiful appetizer of butterfish carpaccio and main course of sole. We also had 2 additional appetizers of tuna tartar taco (Euro17) and Yellowfin ceviche (Euro 17) . All beautifully presented and fresh. The service was friendly, welcoming and fast. The second lunch we ordered the same lunch special.Moments later the waitress came back and said 'the chefs noticed your were here yesterday and wondered if you would like something different'. What?! Fantastic pro-active offer and noticing us and caring. We asked for a different appetizer and they on the spot came up with a magnificent dish that looked like it came out of a gourmet food magazine (Tuna and beetroot carpaccio with micro veges and an interesting sauce). Great wine selection by the glass and nice desserts. We met the chefs after and thanked them. Young, talented and deserving of recognition and success, This is worth a commute even if you are not in Tilburg but in the region (or changing trains at s'-Hertogenbosch, which is hard to avoid if you are returning to Amsterdam!). Do yourself a favor and experience this restaurant and it talented chefs and fantastic friendly and smiling waitresses!

Best fish restaurant ever!! Everything there is super fresh and super tasty. I ate sea bass, halibut and fruit de mar and they were all equally good. I think there could be a little more atmospheric lighting. I find it a bit too white and light, which makes me feel very much in the spotlight.

Great first experience at Smit Vis aan de Haven! The fish was exceptionally fresh and full of flavour, a real delight for lovers of good fish dishes. The dishes were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The wine and cocktails completed the dinner completely; both were carefully chosen and delicious in taste. The staff were also friendly and attentive, which added to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for an evening of enjoying fresh fish and good drinks!

Lekker maar ook bij ons duurde alles heel erg lang, terwijl er maar drie tafels bezet waren (incl de onze). Bij navraag werd er gezegd dat er een leerling kok was en er bij een andere tafel iets met de rekening mis was gegaan. Bediening is zeker vriendelijk en het eten lekker maar je kunt ook te lang in een restaurant zitten.

Het eten is zonder meer 3/5 of 4/5 waard - de meeste visgerechten. Zijn vers, lekker bereid en voldoende omvangrijk. De bediening is uitermate vriendelijk, maar bijna 2,5 uur wachten op het hoofdgerecht kan echt niet!! 18.45 besteld en 21.15 op tafel. En nee hoor geen excuus.

Het eten was prima, duurde echter heel erg lang. Keuze was voldoende echter vond ik de prijs/kwaliteit verhouding niet kloppen. We zijn er 2 uur en 45 minuten geweest voor enkel een voorgerecht en hoofdgerecht met zijn vieren.. moesten meerdere keren de bedieping bij ons roepen. Na het afrekenen geen ‘bedankt’ of ‘doei’ of iets wat erop leek. Erg jammer.

Top fish restaurant, but also meat and vegetarian dishes on the menu. So if you are a real fish lover, you can eat there with the entire family and group of friends. For lunch or dinner. Top chefs and very hospitable service. I would love to come back again.

Lekker vis eten in een bijzondere ambiance. Hoe bijzonder is het om aan een haven verse vis te eten, in een industriële sfeer. Met terras. De vis is werkelijk van uitstekende kwaliteit! De kwaliteit /prijs is echt prima. Fijn dat de wijnkaart goed aansluit bij de gerechten. Ook de vleeseter kan een goed gerecht bestellen Een klein opletpunt is de gebakken tong: de boter was net iets te heet/zwart.

Fantastisch gegeten hier, en niet voor t eerst! Geweldige bediening en eerste klas gerechten! We hadden een paar heerlijke oesters vooraf en daarna de octopus tentakels.. zó lekker! Grote portie, geserveerd op wakame salade, stevige bite. Vervolgens de Argentijnse gamba’s, een bord vol heerlijkheid! Had de koppen er bijna bij opgegeten! Ik weet al wat ik de volgende keer weer ga bestellen.. lekkere wijn erbij.. niks meer aan doen. Een absolute aanrader voor vis-liefhebbers!

Octopus need more boiling, so hard to swallow and eat. Also its not spareribs, try to think out of the box a solution to marinate it and to serve. Service was excellent!

Excellent seafood. I had the mixed oyster platter and mixed fish platter for 2 (includes 4 shrimp). All of it really delicious.

Ik heb 3 sterren gegeven omdat 3 1/2 ster niet mogelijk is. We hebben lekker gegeten in dit visrestaurant aan de Piushaven. Voor ons de eerste keer. In Tilburg staat deze plek heel goed aangeschreven. Smit is een combinatie van restaurant en viswinkel. We hebben beiden gekozen voor het 4 gangen menu van 47,50 van de chef. Dat bestond dit keer uit een voorgerecht van gemarineerde zalm met dressing, een aspergesoep met zalm, dorade met asperges, pompoencreme, truffelchips en tot slotte ijs met creme in een deeg bakje. Het smaakte ons goed, maar ….. voorgerecht en soep waren niet echt opzienbarend. Dit zet ik zelf ook op tafel. Het hoofdgerecht was wel een feestje. Het nagerecht kende vooral prachtige presentatie en was ok. Het restaurant ziet er wat steriel uit en de tafels staan erg dicht op elkaar. We weten inmiddels alles over het voorgenomen huwelijk van het stel dat naast ons zat. De witte huiswijn is goed. De bediening is leuk en weet goed wat er op tafel komt. Toilet is mooi en schoon. We rekenen 130 euro af. Ken je Tilburg niet, dan is de omgeving zeker de moeite waard. In 10 jaar tijd heeft de haven een geweldige facelift gehad en gonst van de activiteit. Je kunt heel fijn zitten en vlak naast het water naborrelen of gewoon een hapje en een drankje doen.

Food was nothing special and very pricey. Better grab a portion of bickering on the Wagnerplein. People are very friendly and it feels very chic.

Great fish restaurant, the food was delicious and the service very friendly. I found the restaurant too bright for my taste, but that is of course my personal opinion. We will be back and therefore highly recommended. Reserve in advance because it can get busy.

Fantastic fish dishes in a very relaxed atmosphere. I only have pictures of the starter and dessert. The large prawns in between were so inviting that I forgot to photograph them.

Great seafood spot in Brabant. You will hardly find it elsewhere in the wider area. The decor is fresh, open and cozy at the same time. Prices downright acceptable. Service extremely attentive. Be careful when ordering: portions may be slightly larger than you expect. Absolutely recommended.

We've been here for the first time with our family, the staff was the most welcoming, I do not speak Dutch and they went above and beyond to present their dishes and never miss to translate for me, I really appreciate their care. The atmosphere is cozy, but the food is the real star, fantastic: ingredients were fresh and perfectly cooked. I had the chef's menu, every dish was a surprise and a joy.

Nice fish like sole, oysters, codfish. Very fresh and well prepared. The ambiance is a bit like a fishshop but service warm and friendly.

This is BY FAR the BEST seafood restaurant we’ve been to in the Netherlands. Every dish we had was delicious, especially the Zeetong! Try the Mors oysters, there worth the price! Very stylish on the inside. Has a fish mongers where you can buy fresh fish and oysters.

Ofschoon het eten voortreffelijk is vonden we het wel aan de prijs. Een glaasje wijn tussen 6,5 en 10,50 , daar vinden we wel wat van.

De verhouding prijs-kwaliteit-portiegrootte-verraste ons zeer aangenaam. Snelle en aangename service! Dit staat zeker op mijn lijstje van toffe plekken in Tilburg

Eindelijk een visrestaurant die vis echt goed bereid zijn de gerechten met veel smaak. Het is wel duurder maarje krijgt zeker genoeg verse vis / schaaldieren op je bord. Service is erg vriendelijk. Eventuele krijg je ook extra uitleg hoe je het beste je vis kan eten. Met een open keuken zie je het gerecht bereid worden. Er is ook een grote buitenterras wel langs een parkeerhaven en een weg. Je hebt dan nog wel zicht op de Puishaven. Ook zit hier nog een winkel zodat je de vis zelf kan halen of kibbeling eten.

Voor de 1e keer hier gegeten, aangenaam verrast door de heerlijke gerechten. Het is wel wat een prijzig restaurant, Gerechten zijn zonder bijgerechten en wat we eigelijk ook niet hadden hoeven bestellen gezien de grootte vd gerechten. Persoonlijk vind ik de ambiance van het restaurant wat simpel en kil maar het eten is heerlijk.

Smit sandwich te duur voor hetgeen ze leveren. Sneetje gerookte zalm met kruidenkaasp. Daarop een sneetje krabsalade. Afgedekt met een droge snee en koud ei. Omringd door net iets te lang gebakken potatoewedges.

Heerlijke visschotels en super mosselen

Zaterdag 5 augustus 2023 100 jaar Pius Haven Morgen zondag kan je de Pius Haven ook bezoeken. Het was zwaar. Het regende af en aan. Kwam uit de hemel. Maar het drukte de pret niet. Nederlanders, nee de Tilburgers zijn goed voorbereid, kunnen tegen een beetje regen en zijn volk die sterke affiniteit hebben met de schepen en water. Business. Mijn reisgenoot en ik hebben bij een zwarte horeca etablissement niet gebruik kunnen maken want ze waren vol en gereserveerd. Dus gingen we een stuk verder lopen. Smit Vis aan de haven Leek aan aan de buitenkant heel gewoontjes. Links de winkel, rechts kan je eten. Maar als je dichterbij kwam dan kon je aan het schoolbord zien dat het een viswinkel is. Eenmaal binnen goed ontvangen, hartelijk zelfs. Er was plek voor ons. De inrichting is totaal wit. Maar de professionaliteit droop er van af. We werden naar ons tafel geleid. Bij het brengen van ons frisdrank werd zelfs geserveerd. Bij alle plekken waar we geweest zijn tot nu toe, werkelijk niet dus. Her eten is super lekker. Ik nam de jonge vissers : kibbeling en friet. Dat is de kinderversie. Ik ben diabetes, ik kan niet veel friet eten. Mijn tafelgenoot nam de Fish and Chips. Je raadt het al de volwassen menu versie. We namen ook de brood met kruidenboter, boter en olijfolie. Ik was vergeten een foto van dit laatstgenoemde te maken. € 42, en nog wat was het totaal. Het is het waard. Ze keken niet op ons neer toen we als verzopen kat binnenkwamen. Iedereen was droog en typische clientèle. Maar die hebben ons niet zwaar met tegenkeuring naar ons gekeken. We waren allemaal schepen, water en vis "connoiseurs" of geïnteresseerden. Mijn reisgenoot heeft een diepe geschiedenis met schepen. Hij sleurt me overal naar toe. Ik ga met plezier met hem naar alle evenementen. Dit is zijn "roots"

Lekker broodje haring op we wilde nog kibbeling bestellen,er was genoeg personeel, maar niet aan de counter,daar stond 1 jonge man hard te werken,en de 2 andere dames vonden het tijd om frisdranken bij te vullen en zelf wat te drinken, dus naar wat gewacht te hebben, besloten om verder te gaan

Kibbelingen besteld die waren heerlijk. Prijs is redelijk alleen op de markt is de prijs iets minder en portie groter dat had hier ook gemogen.

Keuze voor vanmiddag; haring met ui en paling. Voor vanavond; bouillabaisse met kreeft; vissalade en maaltijd scholfilet. Oeps vergeten te vragen hoe de maaltijd op te warmen. Heerlijk thuis gegeten op een zwoele avond.

Heel erg lekker eten! Goede vriendelijke service. Als je van vis, schaal- en schelpdieren houd dan is het echt een aanrader!

Beste vis van Tilburg en omstreken.

Alle gangen waren heerlijk. Vers en royaal. En bediening was top. Maar 1 ding, de laatste tafel in het restaurant tegen een blinde muur, dat kan echt niet. Ik snap dat je je ruimte effectief wil benutten maar er zijn grenzen....

Inrichting is wat mij betreft te zakelijk
