Sonsbeek Paviljoen in Burgemeesterswijk/Hoogkamp

We were cold and came for coffee and food, but because of the unfriendly service we just had coffee.

The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location. Unfortunately, the service during our visit left much to be desired. The wait for food was exceptionally long. There was no buffet, but an à la carte system. We visited the restaurant with four adults and three children and chose the Asian tapas concept, where dishes could be ordered via an order form. To our disappointment, almost half of our orders were not delivered. Given this experience, I cannot recommend a visit to this restaurant, especially on holidays.

The restaurant is beautifully situated in Sonsbeek Park. Parking is available nearby. We had a delicious lunch on Saturday afternoon. They have a separate lunch menu, but you can also order a la carte. Surprisingly, they have Chinese rose liqueur (Mei Kuei Lu Chiew). It's a shame we were actually the only guests. The service was extremely friendly and professional. We will definitely eat there again in the evening.

I had a great meal with my three children at these places. Super fast service. The people were very well-integrated. They spoke excellent Dutch. They were also very sweet and professional. Not very expensive. Good ice cream and delicious food. That's all I need to say. The restrooms were very clean. I'll be back. Thanks for everything.

I had a nice meal, but entering with a heavy, old nicotine smell is terribly disgusting. This is really unacceptable. It will put me off next time. Do something about it.

Went for dinner last night and it was delicious and worth repeating.

The price/quality ratio is excellent. The Chinese draft beer is truly delicious. The menu is extensive, of course, but as a beer lover, I always know where I want to eat at any given moment. Highly recommended. The staff is and always will be friendly.

The food was very tasty, but it seemed like they couldn't handle the crowds, even though we were one of the first. We had to wait around 70 minutes for our food, which is long for a Chinese restaurant.

We booked a table at 6:00 PM. Upon arrival, we were immediately told it would take a bit longer than usual. After fifteen minutes, we ordered drinks. Another half hour later, we placed our order. At 8:00 PM, we asked how long it would take. We also saw many annoyed people around us waiting for their orders. After complaining again that it was taking so long, we received an apology and a drink on the house. After a 2.5-hour wait, we finally got our food. And there was nothing wrong with it. Super delicious. Unfortunately, we also saw people get up, fed up, and leave. In short, it was a poor service. Tip: if there's a delay in the kitchen for some reason, part of your restaurant closes. Now the restaurant fills up with people waiting who do get their drinks. In other words, they're thinking too much about turnover and not enough about the customer. In conclusion, we will definitely come back for the food, but it has to be an isolated incident.

A charming restaurant in a beautiful location amidst green surroundings. The delicious food was served promptly. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was also efficient. There's a spacious terrace with a lovely view. Catering is also available. You can also enjoy lovely walks in the surrounding area.

Today I enjoyed a delicious large spring roll at the Chinese restaurant in Sonsbeek Park. The spring roll was perfectly prepared and incredibly flavorful, especially with the sambal sauce. The terrace is very cozy with a beautiful view of the park, a lovely place to relax. The service was also very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended; we will definitely be back!

The Pavilion is a Chinese restaurant. The food is very good and the service excellent. We tried all sorts of appetizers and it was a wonderful experience. The weather was beautiful, which obviously helped. It's a popular restaurant, judging by the number of people sitting both inside and outside!

A bit disappointed. Normally, I always have delicious nasi, just the way it should be. It smells wonderful and tastes fantastic. At this Chinese restaurant, I finally found the nasi I used to eat, which is why I've been to the Sonsbeek Pavilion a few times for this delicious nasi. But yesterday, the small grain rice was very firm and lacked flavor. It felt like cheaper rice had been used. I think I'll look for another Chinese restaurant next time to find this rice. Such a shame.

We had another delicious tapas meal with six people, the service was also great again.

Take away, not been there for a long time, tenderloin tough, chicken satay half of it was dry and tough, inedible, taste was the same as 20 years ago but much blander. Expensive mind you 7 slices of tough tenderloin for 28 euros.. everything used to be better?

Extremely disappointing. The restaurant is blue with smoke all the time from all the hot plates that are brought to the tables by carts. After a little hour and round number 3 there was a hair in our dish. In the meantime the restaurant was blue with smoke again. Reason enough to go home. Paid 190 euros for nothing. Never again will we recommend or visit this restaurant

With 3 people we ate the 'tapas menu' on Sunday evening. Really delicious, and highly recommended, then you can taste a bit of everything. We will come back soon to taste more of the menu.

Atmosphere place with a great view and delicious food! The portion is really huge for small money

We had a wonderful meal of Chinese tapas. 2 dishes per person per round + tasty side dish and it runs like a well-oiled machine. Food was delicious and warm. Fast and very friendly service. We will be back.

The food is a little less every year. Fewer choices, flatter taste. Quite salty. The black bean sauce is much too thin. The soup is very tasty. Although it was not busy, we still had to wait a long time. The wonderful place and the peace make me come back again.

Too big, too prestigious. We were not able to discover Asian tapas. Drinks menu only until 4 p.m.! That is absurd and then obliged to order a la carte or participate in the aforementioned tapas. There is nothing special there: the usual Dutch Chinese dishes, but smaller. We went again after 1 drink.

Regularly get takeaway from this beautiful location and it is always more than good. Now we had dinner again with old colleagues and friends. Seven strong. We all had a choice of The Oriental Tasting Menu; so fun and easy. Write down 2 to 3 dishes and go. Round 1 was a bit awkward - especially - for the table guests, because...: of course people forget/are no longer sure what they had in the first place. However, that doesn't spoil the fun, because with us everything was passed on to us at the moment and that makes it extra fun and cozy (unless you - in its entirety - eat your neighbor's order ;-)) We really thought everything was delicious. Food was served super hot. Also crispy, fresh and meat tender. Everything tasty and well seasoned. Service friendly, fast and attentive. A tip for guests and/or restaurant; Put down notepads so that people can write down what they order per round as a reminder! :-)

The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and the service was fast and friendly, but unfortunately the food was not what we expected. We ordered a monthly menu for two people, but received a huge amount of food (2.5 kilos). The taste of the dishes was disappointing: the Babi Pangang sauce was much too sweet, and the Ketjap Chicken also had a too sweet taste. The spring rolls were greasy and had hardly any filling, and the Pisang was topped with sugar. In addition, we received a huge portion of rice that seemed more suitable for a large party of 10 people, and the Cantonese Nasi consisted of little more than rice with some leeks, frozen shrimp and small pieces of pork. It had a tasteless smell and didn't appear to be particularly tasty either. All in all a disappointing experience for a restaurant that you would expect to pay more attention to taste and quality.

Nice restaurant. In a beautiful place. Had a tapas menu for 4 people.. friendly service. But when it's busy on Sundays things go wrong, both in the kitchen, long waits, sometimes dishes only after more than an hour, and drinks that don't arrive. You have to ask twice. I've eaten a la carte twice before and it was delicious. But based on this time, I wouldn't go back. The quality was very disappointing, a pity.

Een klassiek mooi Chinees restaurant op één van de mooiste locaties van Arnhem met eigen gratis parkeergelegenheid. We zijn er al zeker 20 keer geweest; zowel lunch als diner, in de zomer op het geweldige terras met uitzicht op de waterval van Sonsbeek, in de winter warm binnen, linnen gedekte tafels, superschoon, lieve attente bediening en altijd heerlijk eten. Aanrader voor diner is de Tepanyaki die aan tafel afgeblust wordt op gietijzeren schotel. Groot compliment voor de keuken voor de constante kwaliteit!

Placed an order by telephone and received vegetarian nasi and noodles when picked up! Really really dirty! A Chinese who no longer sells normal nasi and noodles is a Chinese who is not worth my money. This Chinese even has the nerve to increase the price of the nasi and noodles while taking out the meat and eggs! I made it clear to these Chinese by telephone that they have lost a regular customer after 20 years!

I come from the west of the country but can often be found in Arnhem with family. We always do takeaway and Sonsbeek pavilion is the tastiest in Arnhem. Good price-quality ratio. Definitely recommended. And don't forget the beautiful location and beautiful interior.

Overall, the meal was fine, personally not a fan of Chinese / Indonesian cuisine, but I had a great time for a night out! - don't leave anything in the car in this parking lot!

Had an “all you can eat” experience for the first time with Chinese, Japanese and Thai food. The concept is nice, the service very friendly. The Chinese dishes are just like you get Chinese takeaway, not very special. The Japanese and Thai dishes were tasty.

Get food there often. My favorite food is spicy beef and chicken breast with rice. Super tasty.

The restaurant is very clean and tidy. But we had bread with eggs. You only really get two sandwiches, no bun. And there's no real flavor to the eggs. For the price we expected more quality. We expected something different, a little disappointed because the place is beautiful. Service is good!

Met een gezelschap van 10 personen,na reservering, gegeten in restaurant. De bediening kwam snel drankjes opnemen en menukaarten uitdelen. Na de bestelling hebben we vijf kwartier zitten wachten op voorgerecht. Werd nog snel bakje kroepoek neergezet…. Na diverse keren personeel gevraagd te hebben waar het hoofdgerecht bleef, moesten we toch anderhalf uur wachten! Het eten was matig, terwijl we best goede ervaringen hadden. Het is geen aanrader en zeker niet op zondagavond. Helaas.

Arrogant, dwingend en onvriendelijk. Bij het kiezen van het menu werd de Aziatische medewerkster ongeduldig en gaf aan dat wij: ‘beter volgende keer de kaart thuis moeten bestuderen’ en herhaalde op dwingende toon dat we moesten kiezen. Aangegeven dat zij zelf volgende keer wellicht een studie vriendelijker zijn tegen de klant kan volgen en we zijn vertrokken.

Is niet meer wat het geweest is, duurt lang voordat de gerechtjes er zijn wordt soms vergeten en erg jammer dat de sushi van de tapas kaart is .

Food quite simple. Spring roll extra. The extra was a piece of prawn crackers. Satay was terribly dry. Fresh orange juice was fine.

Fine dining ? Echt niet al lang geleden dat ik zo slecht gegeten heb. Grote bak tipan schotel nr 54 en 55 besteld . Smakeloos eten en veel te veel dat komt ook omdat het een smakeloze hap is . Dit gd voor alletwee de gerechten. Een dame in de bediening snapt er niets van heel hard praten/ lomp/ de andere twee waren dan nog charmante dames. Verder komen er af en toe 2 chinese heren het restaurant in lopen vet T-shirt aan heel hard praten echt twee van het platte land in China één ervan staat ook nog z'n gulp te beroeren. Dan zit je daar een smakeloze hap te eten en is het voor mij op. Erg jammer van zo'n mooie lokatie !!!! Niet naar toe gaan zonde van je geld. Ze zouden de porties kunnen halveren maar dan WEL lekker of met liefde bereiden.

We had the Oriental Tasting and boy was it good! Different little dishes can be chosen from a menu and all of them are very tasty. Big recommendation!

Very hospitable people, delicious food, beautiful location and surroundings, we have been coming there for years, but not for a few years now, because we don't live in the area, we went there specifically, and as always, very nice and highly recommended!
