Booked a walking package here. We were welcomed with coffee/tea and a delicious slice of apple pie. We received a good explanation of the route and what there was to see. After the walk, we enjoyed a delicious lunch platter, which was more than enough to satisfy any hunger pangs. The highlight was definitely the warm brie sandwich!

It's a great place to have lunch. The menu is quite extensive (also a good beer selection!) The Baroness' bread platter is highly recommended; delicious! The staff is super friendly. And the ambiance is unique; what more could you ask for, in the basement of a real castle. Complete with armor. Reservations are recommended; it was quite full when we were there on a drizzly November Sunday!

Great place in nature to walk and eat and/or drink something. The lunch we had was just fine. Nothing special but good enough to eat after a walk. The staff was boring and short. I thought that put a damper on the atmosphere.

Very atmospheric, wonderfully immersed in the castle style. Enjoyed a lovely walk and delicious food, next to a crackling fire. Plenty of free parking. A warm welcome and beautiful surroundings for walking and cycling. Short and longer hiking trails are available. We will definitely be back!!! Coffee and cake were served, along with a lunch platter and tea.

Came to this location for a business meeting. Parking by car is limited and inconvenient with groups. When the weather is nice, you have a great terrace outside for a bite to eat and a drink

What a special place. Cozy terrace in front of the castle. Sat in the sun with a nice special beer and delicious Burgundian bitterballen. Friendly service!

Beer tasting in a castle!!! How nice is that! Well, very nice.... Upon entering you are immediately in a castle atmosphere. Just watch out. There is a small step down/step up!! We received a friendly welcome and were lucky to have a table by the fireplace, which further emphasized the atmosphere. Everything is really decorated in the castle style and you feel like you are in another time... The tasting of 3 beers and a snack board invited more... we ordered some nachos and a bitterballen tasting. Of course also an extra beer. I chose a Westvleteren 12, the waitress immediately asked me if I had seen that it was almost 20 euros... a bit of a shock, but I took it anyway. And it was delicious... There is a wide choice of beers, but also plenty of wine and soft drinks, etc. The lunch / drinks menu also offers a lot. The service is very friendly and also takes the time to advise or explain the taste of a beer. It is also possible for the disabled, there are a few steps of 1 step. There is a plank at the entrance that a walker or wheelchair can go over, but not at the other steps... it may be possible to move it. It was our first time here but it certainly won't be the last.

Very attractive beer cellar with interesting books, for example an old castle cookbook

Yesterday with our family, 11 people, we had a delicious coffee and cake, then took a nice walk and then had a delicious lunch together. We had our own table with the advantage that we were not a burden to the other guests. Good and quick service and a very pleasant atmosphere. In short, worth repeating.

Went here today after booking and paying for a package in advance. Requested a change in lunch due to a medical condition. The waitress indicated that this could be done free of charge. Had to wait a long time for food due to a communication error with the kitchen. After the food arrived, we were still confronted with a high bill with additional costs that had to be paid. Extremely antisocial and intimidating treatment (as a woman) by the man who made the bill about this. Left upset never to return and paid too much money. Don't go here. Addition: the owner's response to this review shows exactly what his treatment is like in the business. Unprofessional and very antisocial.

A very special location. It's like going back in time and finding yourself in a barroom of an inn in the Middle Ages. We had a walking package with coffee + apple pie and a lunch with tomato soup, croquette sandwich, carpaccio sandwich and warm brie sandwich. Tasted delicious. Friendly staff. Nice area for walking. Keep in mind that the paths can sometimes be very muddy.

Very nice experience. The food was good and everything was well organised.

It took some time to find the entrance in the winter, but once you're inside, it's fantastic. After a long walk we enjoyed a number of Trappists. Delicious beer, warmed by the fireplace. Delicious! And bitterballen that really are bitterballen. Well filled, perfectly cooked. It took a while before we continued our way. Definitely curious to see what this summer is like on the terrace, we will definitely come back!

This place offers something different when you are bored of every other place. It is warm and cozy in winter. The tomato soup and cheese pancake are worth the drive to this place. The host is very nice, and you can take a walk around the Nemerlaer Castle.

Een hele bijzondere locatie onder in een kasteel. Wij hebben er alleen wat gedronken en de cappuccino was heerlijk. Vriendelijke medewerkers en een gezellige ruimte met de sfeer van lang geleden. Wel even oppassen voor de opstapjes.

We kwamen op de valreep binnen voor een biertje en dat was prima! Aardige bediening. Hebben genoten van een paar trappistenbiertjes en de gezellige sfeer binnen. Eigenlijk was het te kort, daar de kelder om 18.00u sloot. Maar toen we om 18.20u eruit liepen besloten we: hier komen we zeker nog eens terug! (Lokatie is nl ook heel geschikt om buiten te zitten met mooi weer)

Erg duur. Vorige week bij La Trappe 8 euro betaald voor een witte Trappist en een Isidor. Ik betaalde vandaag bij de 12 Trappisten 10, 90 voor dezelfde biertjes.

Lekker buiten op terras een latte op en kasteelbrood, was lekker. Vriendelijk personeel.

Beetje jammer. Mooie locatie. 'n duo stond wat muziek te maken. Helaas had de bediening geen overzicht op het terras. Ten eerste zaten wij er al een tijdje en werden mensen die later kwamen eerder geholpen. De lunch werd opgenomen, even later kwam de serveerster weer terug. Nogmaals uitlegt, aangewezen en de prijs nog vermeld. Vervolgens serveerden ze het verkeerde uit. Dat ging weer terug vervolgens erg lang moeten wachten tot we het juiste hadden. Wat we besteld hadden smaakte overigens wel erg lekker.

Lekker geluncht voor een klein prijsje op een prachtige locatie.

Alle trappistenbieren zijn hier verkrijgbaar behalve La Trappe puur. Vandaar 4 sterren ipv 5. Verder is het er echt gezellig, goede service, top.

Heerlijke retro kasteel kelder sfeer met 12 Trappisten bieren.

Gisteren daar een verrassingsborrel gehad tgv een 60 jarig verjaardagsfeest. Het was geweldig. Een supermooie locatie, veel lekker eten en drinken. Vriendelijk personeel met oog voor het welzijn van de gasten. Compliment aan Helmi voor de algehele organisatie.

Gezellige locatie, met mooie biertjes... zeker de moeite waard om een binnen te lopen en of met mooi weer op het terras plaats te nemen

Heerlijk geluncht bij een toplocatie 👌🏻 verse broodjes gerookte zalm en kip walnoot salade. de locatie is echt heel mooi onder het kasteel in oude stijl en eromheen ligt een mooie wandelroute. Een voordeel was ook dat we de honden mee mochten nemen en er is een speelruimte voor kinderen. Het enige nadeel is dat je na 18.00 niet meer terecht kunt.
