I ordered a hamburger with fries, and honestly, it was one big joke. No sauce, no seasoning — just the cheapest frozen patty imaginable. A plain “meat” patty with a slice of low-quality cheese between two of the cheapest store-bought buns, with absolutely nothing else. Completely dry and tasteless. The fries were okay, that’s the only positive thing I can say. I left more than half of the food on the plate. To make it worse, the waiter still asked for a tip. When I told him I definitely wouldn’t tip today, he just replied: “Maybe next time.” I really don’t understand how a restaurant of this type can serve something like this. I haven’t been this disappointed by food in a long time.

We had the mixed grill. The ribs and the entrecôte were good, but the rest of the meat wasn't of the same quality. The three sauces for the meat were so-so, especially the chimichurri.

We went with the whole family and the meat was spectacular; the service was also very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

The waiters were incredibly rude. The Caprese had terrible tomatoes, the shrimp were raw, and they were arguing and showing their displeasure.

We had dinner here recently. We were seated right away without a reservation. The waiter served us quickly and it wasn't a long wait. The food arrived at our table on an automated robot food tray carrier. Very unique. The menu had some good choices of steak but this night we both ordered the Schnitzel. I had mine with fries and my friend ordered his with a salad and baked potato. The portions were very good and extremely tasty. We ate early at about 17:00 so it wasn't too busy. We also had an English breakfast here the following morning and enjoyed it as well. I can definitely recommend this restaurant and we'll eat here again on our next visit. We were so impressed we left a generous tip and the wait staff was extremely appreciative.

It's not that big of a deal, really. If the meat you cook is good, the meal will naturally be good. It's a below-average place; you can eat at better places for the same price. And you wouldn't get poor quality meat at that price.

The waiters were very unfriendly, the food was okay. The mixed salad is not recommended; for €10.50 you get a salad with cucumber, tomato, and onions.

Avoid at all costs!!!!! I'm giving it one star because I can't give it zero. The service is terrible, the prices are quite high compared to what you get. A hamburger for around twenty euros is ridiculous; even McDonald's does better. The piece of beef is inedible. I absolutely do not recommend it; it's a tourist trap.

Horrible! This restaurant is like a cafeteria. I paid €20 for a burger that consisted of two slices of bread and a patty (not even any sauce). The waiter openly flirts with the female customers, and the atmosphere is oppressive. €65 for two people, and we only got one beer each and two disgusting dishes.

The staff don't know how to treat and communicate a customer, during my visit on last sunday, I ordered a salmon and when the main course is being served, I asked the status of side (vegetables) to the lady waiter, I was responded in an impolite manner saying that "I have only two hands" , well I was quite shocked and stayed calm against her impolite answer since never experienced and felt displeased by a waitress as she was not the person I should deal with about her manners as a person coming from the heart of hospitality. I would like to share my recent experience potential visitors I had with their staff as I believe customers must feel valued, respected, and warmly welcomed—not like an inconvenience. The lack of courtesy and attentive service we experienced suggests a significant need for immediate training and replacement of their staff. ​The expectation is simple: The staff representing your business should treat every customer with politeness, efficiency, and a positive manner. ​I sincerely hope you take this feedback seriously and use it as an opportunity to reinforce excellent customer service standards across your team.

So, first of all, We wanted to give the restaurant a chance after the nice gentleman in sweatpants let us in. We ordered two Cokes Zero, one bacon cheeseburger, and one chicken fajita. The prices are way too high for what you can get locally. There was no fresh meat, at least not in the burger. It looked and tasted like frozen food. The fajitas tasted more Chinese than Mexican. Plus, they only came with one wrap, and each additional one cost 50 cents extra. Let's just say, if you call yourself a steakhouse, the food should actually taste like one.

Beware of tourist traps! The food was ridiculously overpriced, carelessly presented, with small portions and bland flavor. The waiters were unfriendly...we had unsalted fries with our steak, and they took the ketchup and mayo from our table beforehand (for no apparent reason). When we asked for more when the food arrived, the waiter was visibly annoyed as he had to get more ketchup. When we paid, they aggressively begged for a tip. Never again!!!

If you order a tenderloin here, you'll get a sirloin steak. However, you'll have to pay the cost price of the tenderloin. You can also drink a Cuba Libre for €11, about 10 cl. You're lucky if there's a waiter who understands Dutch and can take an order correctly. In short, stay away!

We went there for lunch twice and were served very well both times. All the servers were super friendly and even spoke Spanish. The food was delicious, and each dish was generously portioned.

Horrible experience, the staff is very rude. We ordered 2 grilled spare ribs starters, the staff charged us for 2 main spare ribs dishes and refused to change or cancel the order. On a busy day the staff also walks away mid conversation, I would even say mid sentence with you to help another customer. I would really not recommend this place. The food arrived at our table very quickly, hot and well-cooked. It was delicious, and the staff were just as kind. Prices are quite reasonable. I especially recommend the grilled corn.

Dining at this restaurant was a major disappointment. The meat had a foul odor, and the steak was completely inedible. The venue is on the street between the train station and Dam Square. There's seating inside and outside. It's a bit pricey; a 450-gram entrecôte was 36.80 euros. They serve fries. The 450-gram entrecôte and a glass of cola totaled 43.80 euros. The entrecôte wasn't bad; I recommend medium rare; the meat stays juicy. They also serve boiled potatoes, which are included in the price, upon request. It wasn't bad.

Very nice and tasty food, did feel a bit hasty with the server. Didn't have much time to think about what I wanted. But the taste of the food made up for it. I do recommend coming here! And they have a cool robot.

I ordered one ribeye steak for 36€ and some items but when i went to pay I found they take for sauce and cheese and vegetables extra money , so basically they take about 20€ extra for sauce and vegetables, i never recommend to anyone. And this is the last time for me also 👎👎

Tourist trap, avoid! A very bad experience at this restaurant. The server took time for us just to force us to go inside, when we just wanted to look at the menu in peace. Once we were seated, he showed no attention: no explanation of the dishes, no friendly service. We felt rushed, as if we had to order quickly and leave quickly. The dishes were frankly disappointing, tasteless, and clearly not prepared with love. Their only goal seems to be to make money off the backs of tourists. And to top it all off: €7 for a bottle of water... This experience truly disgusted us and left a bitter taste in our mouths during our stay in Amsterdam. We absolutely do not recommend it.

I don't recommend it at all! As soon as we arrived, we were constantly asked to come eat, which was already a bit overwhelming. Once seated, we were finally able to order, but the server, Kamal, rushed through our request without taking the time to inform us, even though we still had questions. Love this experience!! Most places in this area can over charge but Markies was amazing and at a great price point. Kemal was amazing, we love Kemal!! Food was amazing. We got Argentinian steaks and baguettes with sausage.

Incredibly rude staff. We walked past because we were interested as I am argentinian and like meat. We asked if it was halal because my boyfriend is muslim and the ethiopian waiter told us it was, and that he had no reason to lie to us. Very rudely, he recommended the mixed grill but we told him it was too much for 2 of us, and he understood that as it was too much money, so he told us to leave and go eat at Mcdonald's and maybe we can afford it. This is no way to treat a potential costumer and I'm not surprised by the amount of negative reviews this place has. Even after a few hours when we walked in front of the place, the waiter gave us a bad look.

The burger meat was store-bought patties of the worst quality, grilled for a while to get the smell, and the mojito drink did not contain any alcohol.

To be honest, I found it hardly edible. I was grateful that I had food and that I could sit comfortably, but nothing more. We were traveling with seven people and before we could look at the menu outside, an employee asked us if we wanted to come in and tried to persuade us further with small talk. Since we were hungry, we went for it. It was a warm, cozy and clean environment, I'll give them that. Unfortunately, things didn't go any further from then on. One of us ordered a beer with Sprite as an alternative to Radler. The beer was never delivered. We met a total of four waiters in the 90 minutes we were there, which doesn't seem ideal to you as a guest. After our food was taken in and finally served after a reasonable wait, I have to say I would have expected more given the prices. With my "Double Burger" I got two halves of a bun with meatballs and cheese, and the salad was served separately on the plate, which I had to put on and then fold together (mind you, sauces weren't included and had to be ordered separately). A grilled chicken steak was also ordered, but arrived as a depressed plate compared to the pictures, sobering. In the end, we were initially shocked by the price, which was disproportionate for the amount of food, but after another 15 minutes of waiting we were finally able to pay. Conclusion for me: You can't let hunger guide you, otherwise you'll end up in tourist traps like we did.

I had hoped for a far better dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. The steak was disappointingly dry, and the fries were overcooked. While the service itself was good, we couldn’t shake the feeling that we were being rushed to finish and leave.

As an outsider, I witnessed a bizarre situation at this restaurant. A young man kindly asked if he could use the toilet for a fee. This was not allowed. When a friend of his made a lame comment about it, the owner reacted extremely aggressively. He ran after that person far outside the restaurant to beat him up. Even after an apology was offered, he continued to shout and even fight with someone who stood up for the young man. It was chaotic, unprofessional and downright threatening to watch. Many were able to witness this on May 5. A complete brawl ensued, entirely from this restaurant. Definitely not a safe or welcoming place. Incredibly incapable and aggressive employees with possible intellectual disabilities. Avoid this place.

Abandoned haunted house with if kitchen 2 microwaves and an air fryer for fries. Food tastes like nothing and I get acute stomach illness from it. In addition, the bar man looks at you for an hour and stands next to you while you eat, which looks like a stare battle while eating warmed-up steak that tastes like cardboard.

Food tastes like crap and employees keep looking at you which makes you feel very uncomfortable. I would never go here if I were you. I also shit all over the toilet, whoever throws the ball can expect it back!

The food at Steak House De Markies was disappointing. I had the grilled chicken and chips, and while the chicken tasted fine, it was too thin and the portion was small. The carbonara pasta was even worse—gluggy and lacking sauce. Plus, they didn’t have chili flakes, which was a bit of a letdown. On the bright side, the indoor and outdoor seating was nice, which made the overall experience a little better. But the food definitely didn’t impress.

Lovely restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. I’ve been coming here for many years and have never had a bad experience. Service is attentive and food is good. On my most recent visit we had the mixed grill platter which was a great way to get my protein in. Definitely recommend!

Had dinner here twice during my vacation in Amsterdam. The cuisine of the Argentinian steakhouse is really highly recommended. In addition to the absolutely delicious prawns, I had a 500 gram T-bone steak and a first-class Argentinian entrecote as a starter. There is a huge selection of side dishes as well as the sauces. Everything fresh and homemade. The service was also professional, friendly and very accommodating. Had a nice time. A little tip on the sidelines that is also highly recommended for groups as there are several large tables in the restaurant. A special highlight is the nice service robot that drives through the restaurant and supports the waitress. I had to laugh when I saw that. I'd love to come back. Thank you .

Staffs were attentive and polite. We ordered two pastas and sausages, everything was great. I would say the spaghetti bolognaise I had was better than a lot of restaurants out there. We will definitely come again.

Good restaurant on the grand avenue of Amsterdam. It has some Argentine cuisine dishes. Good, beautiful for this city. The great thing is that they have a robot that brings the dishes from the kitchen to the table. See video

This was the worst restaurant experience I have EVER HAD. The food was absolutely tasteless. I had the T-bone steak and I had to resend it as it was both ice cold but also LITERALLY RAW. Upon having it cooked more and presented to me again it was just as bad with the only difference being it was at least safely edible. Fries were just as tasteless, only somewhat enjoyable after I drowned them in salt. Seriously very dissatisfied and for over 110 euros for three people it was not good at all. The atmosphere was very strange. There were strips of a fur rug cut up and thrown randomly all over the walls. There were fake plants everywhere. THE TABLE NEXT TO OURS HAD A RANDOM CITRUS PLANT IN THE MIDDLE. The table behind us was absolutely full of stuff. Such as coats on the chairs, a random loaf of bread on the table, and the entire time I was in the restaurant the table was never cleared and no one was there. It’s very clear the owner does not care about their business. I assume these were employee items but a clear lack of care is shown by having a table just taken up by random items. This place is NOT WORTH YOUR TIME OR MONEY. STAY FAR AWAY!!!

It was very quiet when we went hence the atmosphere stars, so my option isn't completely valid. But the steak was amazing, we got the lunch offer that was on, if I remember correctly it was only 17e for steak and chips! I would go again :)

The restaurateur invited us to come in to see the menu. We asked to see it before sitting down, but he persistently asked us to sit at a table to look at it. We politely told him several times that we wanted to see the menu first, but he kept insisting and threw the menus onto the table. I went to the table to pick one up, and we started looking at it, but he got angry, saying we were in the way. We decided to leave, and he shouted from the door, the F word to us and to all italians. We walked away, but he kept yelling. I went back to check the name of the place, and he opened the door threateningly and shouted something else at me.

Fair price and very good service

Went early, however, Wiener Schitzell ( I only knew it as veal in Germany), and they assured us it was pork, it was dry as and chicken. Mushroom sauce, came as part of the dish in Germany, on the side as an extra, tasteless, no Mushroom in it. Avoid, not worth the money. Apart from of course pushing their wares, as they have to! The only staff member, apart from the robot was nice.

We zochten een rustig restaurant om met z'n drietjes te gaan eten en kwamen uit bij Steakhouse de Markies. Na de uitgebreide menukaart te hebben bekeken, kozen we voor de rib-eye en de fajita met kip. Tevens bestelden we een paar bijgerechten zoals salade, gepofte aardappel en gebakken friet. De gerechten werden al snel gebracht door de serveerrobot. Naast de serveerrobot, is er ook gewone bediening; deze was erg vriendelijk. De rib-ye was goed medium rare en de kip was smaakvol. We hebben genoten van onze avond bij de Markies!
