Terrible service, or rather, no service at all. First, you sit waiting upstairs for a while, and eventually we just walked to the cashier ourselves to place our order. Then we had to carry our coffees etc. (four drinks) upstairs ourselves via a much too narrow staircase. Another downside is that you can't pay with cash, which really should be possible. The wait time before you get the food is incredibly long, and the cook... he wasn't exactly sociable either. And oh yes, the price-quality ratio is not in proportion to what you get! So I would absolutely NOT eat here. A waste of money.

I only ordered the drink because I wanted the cup, and in the end you gave me a takeaway cup!

Came here for a quick lunch but ended up staying longer 🤣 Really nice bagel and açaí bowl 🍇🍯🥯. It was quite busy, so we had to eat upstairs, but it had a cosy café vibe and was a lovely place to relax.

Finally, the restaurant has seating upstairs, but the staff refused to bring our drinks to the table and expected us to carry them ourselves. Since the stairs are quite difficult to navigate while holding drinks, this made the experience even more inconvenient. Overall, the food was good, but the service really needs improvement.

The food was quite good, but unfortunately the service was terrible. The acai bowl wasn't available at noon, and the cashier (often mentioned in reviews) was incredibly unfriendly. It's especially disappointing that, after all these reviews and detailed descriptions of the staff, these people still work here. We won't be coming back.

The burrata and burrata mozzarella salad is put if this world. We had the nicest lunch there. You have to order at the bar and take your drinks to your table. I would say not disability friendly if you have to use stairs as they are very narrow but this wasnt an issue for us. Toilets were very clean also.

We were asked to skip the line and wait at the side for a couple of minutes for our seats, but the staff gave the seats away for the guests who came much later. When asked, the staff didn’t apologise and we had to wait even longer. We could’ve done takeaway instead and not waste time just waiting. The food was decent enough but I’d recommend a different cafe along the street for a better experience.

It is nice cafe and has good sweet and savoury options, but the service is not good and professional. They ask you to take a menu, but never come to take your order. You need to take your food and drinks upstairs on narrow staircase. Staff are not attentive, either… busy chitchatting when customers are at the counter waiting to order.

My experience at this restaurant was terrible because of the staff. Some were very polite, but four girls acted in a racist and offensive manner towards tourists, especially those from the Middle East. This was my first and last visit to this restaurant, and I wouldn't recommend it to Middle Eastern tourists until some of the staff are replaced. They are rude to customers, raise their voices, and behave disrespectfully. I hope the owner reviews the CCTV footage to see the rudeness, the raised voices, and the use of obscene gestures towards tourists. I wish they would receive training at other restaurants like Chun, Interior, The Cutest, Re7, and the upscale and busy Locals. We commend all of these restaurants, except for this one, which is racist and uses offensive language.

Visiting in April, it was a wonderful, cozy experience: delicious drinks, a generous and flavorful meal, and a pleasant and helpful staff.

This place is VERY overrated. The food is not good and so is the atmosphere + very long waiting time.

We visit various Pluk locations quite often, including in Spain. Today we were at this branch, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. From the very beginning, you didn't feel welcome; it seemed more like it was a nuisance that we were there. We were handed a menu with the instruction that we had to order at the cashier and get our own drinks. Even a glass with the expensive juice seemed too much to ask and was given with great difficulty. Moreover, the juices came from a bottle that was still partially frozen — nothing fresh about it, just straight from the freezer. The food was brought without knives because they had run out. An employee went to get new ones, but that took another five minutes. The food itself was mediocre. The poached eggs were cold and completely hard-boiled. This has little to do with freshness or quality. We actually never write reviews, but this experience really let us down. We felt like we were an afterthought and completely overlooked, especially compared to, for example, Brasserie De Luwte a little further down the road, where you are welcomed hospitably. What a shame, what a shame. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back.

I really don't get the hype. I went there because it's a huge hype on social media. I really didn't like it at all. The food wasn't tasty at all. Very little space and you basically have to serve yourself. You have to pick up your food downstairs and then go upstairs. The only thing I liked was the matcha strawberry, that was it.

On their media accounts, they portray the drinks as sweet and more like dessert, even though they barely have any taste. Very weird atmosphere; when you walk in, you don't really know what they want from you. Also really expensive. The pastries were tasty, though.

There was a hair in my food and they told me they’ll refund the money. It’s been three weeks and I still haven’t gotten it back yet

I ordered something from PLUK last week. Something went wrong with the order. It turned out the food could not be made gluten-free. The amount was supposed to be refunded to us by bank transfer. After leaving our details, contrary to the agreement, the amount was never transferred. I have tried calling and emailing, but PLUK cannot be reached by either phone or email. It is really a shame that things are going this way.

Good good and staff. The place is bit cramped with tables placed too close to each other, but the team members who welcome you warmly and serve you with respect, makes it worth your while.

The food was delicious, a bit pricey, but that's what you have to expect if you want to eat in Amsterdam. The coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere is fantastic—very peaceful and homey. We didn't have to queue, but if you go later (around 11 or 12), you'll probably have to, as there were people waiting when we left.

Good, the tiramisu cookie was tasty, but a bit on the dry side. The iced matcha latte is nice. The service is good, the workers are kind. There are not many tables so you will maybe have to wait a couple of minutes for a table and the tables are very very close to each other which makes going to the bathroom or even moving without bothering the other guests hard. But nice cafe tho!

The waiters here were rude and unwelcoming. I’m not even a tourist — I live here — and I was shocked. I came at 9:45 am to try their hot chocolate and they were acting like they had been working for hours. One waitress literally tried to take my mom’s fork while she was still eating. When my mom said she was using it, the waitress just stared at her, nodded in the rudest way, and walked off. relax a bit before taking it out on customers Definitely not coming back.

We got lucky and didn't have to wait to be seated. The sandwiches were delicious, as was the coffee, which is also sold as powder or beans for those who want to take a little of the taste home. The space is narrow, typical of Amsterdam and similar cities.

Don't go there as soon as it opens, around 9:39, because you won't find much (I would have liked the cinnamon roll and hot chocolate). The hot chocolate is ready around 11-11:30, maybe even later... we didn't manage to get it. The rest of the food is very good, especially the banana bread. I recommend that the café have everything ready when they open.

Okay food and location. They don't serve tap water. Tables, cutlery and toilets are dirty. Stairs are okay for people under 1.80m, but if you are taller watch your head, since they are not marked properly.

Delicious, even though a homeless woman cut in front of us. They didn't want to open all the tables, so we had to wait 10 minutes because it was very busy, but it was smoother later on, which was more pleasant. Most of the waitresses were really lovely despite the crowd! Delicious food, prices quite high, but that's to be expected, it's a trendy spot. Beautiful setting.

Myself and my group of friends were really looking forward to visiting Pluk, however when we arrived the lady behind the counter was so rude, we were quickly put off. We asked if we could have a table, she took one look at us and said no you can't sit in but you can take something away. We waited patiently whilst she then let another man from behind us in the queue go in front of us. Her colleague then came downstairs and asked us directly if we would like a table, before we could answer the rude woman serving whispered to her and then we were just completely blanked. We didn't bother with the takeaway. Very disappointing.

So we have traveled from South Africa, saw the hype about the hot chocolate and had to try. So excited, I ordered the classic & my daughter the Biscoff - we took them as a takeaway as they were full. As we walked and sipped through the whipped cream it unfortunately tasted terrible. They were both sour! Not bitter as the lady tried to explain, there was something not right… we ended up throwing them away as we couldn’t drink them 😭 what a waste! Very sad.

I went to this place for breakfast, and the toast the guy made me was really good. The café is small; you have to go upstairs to get a seat.

Visiting from Canada and heard a lot about this place. Very disappointed with the service, the first day we went they had locked the door early and closed. The second day we tried again mid-day and the door seemed to be locked, however, we could see people inside. Struggled to open the door for several minutes, the staff could see us and ignored. After we got in, they again ignored us for quite some time before acknowledging and taking our order. Very short and cold attitude. Let us try to pay with credit card again and again before mentioning they don’t take this type of card. Got 2 hot chocolates, taste was fine, made out of a premixed powder not melted chocolate.

I've been coming to PLUK regularly for years. The coffee and food are practically flawless. But over the years, the service has deteriorated, and the building itself has become very dingy and downright dirty, especially the stairs and floor. It's no longer a very pleasant place to sit inside. It used to be much better. It's really in need of some renovation work.

The staff (the man preparing the food) was extremely rude before we even got to ordering.

I paid over €25.00 for a latte, a hot chocolate, and two pastries. Unfortunately, the latte was lukewarm, as it had already been prepared while the hot chocolate wasn't being made. The atmosphere is absolutely awful; you wait downstairs in the crowd for your order, and then you practically have to sit on your neighbor's lap upstairs because it's so cramped. This was my first and last time.

The atmosphere is nice and cozy. I definitely recommend the unique cookie-dough hot chocolate.

The manager was extremely rude and accused us of lying for no reason. The place closes at 5, yet when we arrived at 4:41 they refused to serve us. The owners really need to review their staff and how they treat customers. I'm never going to step place in this hole.

Honestly I was really looking forward to this cafe. We understood the place closes at 5pm and we had arrived at 4:45pm, the lady was unwelcoming and didn’t let us enter. We kindly said we arrived on time and if they can let us in as we are not from this area, the lady responded your lying and so you can come tomorrow morning not today. Super rude and unwelcoming. Fix your timing and hospitality next time.

Worst organizing ever! I went to the first branch to see a note “we will serve you at the other branch” so i went there to find another note with we are closed at 4:00 PM???

Unfortunately, it was closed at 2 pm. That's a shame, as we walked halfway across town. It would have been great if we could check the opening hours online somehow.

Best matcha I've ever had! 😍 The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered takeout and didn't have to wait long. The avocado and egg sandwich was delicious. When we arrived, there were no seats available.

Food and drinks very mediocre! a very busy place with no enough tables for customers to sit and eat so we had to get our food take away and literally eat it on the sidewalk.. waited more than 30 min for 2 sandwiches and the when we asked the chef if they’re making it he answered very rudely “its very busy if you don’t like it we will cancel the order” too bad it’s a nice with bad management, rude chef and overpriced food that does not even taste good!

The Pre-Merry Christmas drink is decent, but nothing special; it tastes like a standard chocolate drink and lands at a solid 7/10. The space itself is very small, with limited seating, so it feels crowded and tight during busy hours. We waited about 15 minutes for a seat but couldn’t get one and had to leave. That said, the food made a strong impression especially the cake, which is worth it on its own.

After watching several videos online, everything looked delicious, especially the chocolate, a signature Amsterdam delicacy. Personally, though, I prefer it thicker. The place is cozy and welcoming, with no table service, making it the perfect escape from the winter rain. A pleasant experience, though not unforgettable.

The other reviews are spot on. Unfortunately, we also had an unpleasant experience today, with a mix of racism and rude staff. White people are clearly favored here, so if you have a migration background, I don't recommend it! I came here with my cousin to have a nice day. Upon entering, my cousin politely asked if there was room, but she ignored me. The employee remained on her phone and completely ignored her. Shortly after, two white women asked a question and were immediately told there was room for them. I then went to see if there was room, but there wasn't one. When I went back downstairs, new white guests came in and were helped immediately. Suddenly, there was room for them, and they were immediately given a menu. Normally, I'm not one for labels, but when several white guests who arrived later are helped even though we were there first, it's noticeable.

Everything is fine and dandy, but there's absolutely no service. The menu is handed to you, and you have to pay for it yourself and carry it to your table yourself.

This is a social media craze, pretty hot chocolates but sickly and gritty texture. It tastes like powdered milk. My kids ate the cream then threw the rest away, waste of money. I ordered regular without cream, got given cream, they did a new one but didn’t refund the difference. Go elsewhere for a good quality and better priced hot chocolate.

The service is truly awful. I've never experienced anything like it, and I regularly go to "hype" places, but this is honestly one of the worst places I've ever been. We walked in, and the employee looked up from her phone, said hello, and then continued to ignore us, even though I asked if there was a place to sit. We stood there at the counter for at least 5-10 minutes without anyone helping us. Mind you, there were tons of people there. I suspect they're a bit racist. Prepare yourself for a bunch of snooty, snotty people. As an Amsterdammer, you definitely won't see me there again, and if you're a tourist, don't come—they're racist.

Very bad coffee. They gave us the wrong ones and they made it in regular cups but it was take out so they just threw the cappuchinos from in the take out cup. Never coming here again and so should anyone

We had a lovely hot chocolate by the christmas tree. It was very good, and surprisingly big ! Also, the lady is very welcoming and offered us two little slices of cake. A perfect spot to get warm!

Came at 12:00 received our drink whichvare one cappuccino and one amricano at 12.45. 45 min to press a botton on a coffe machine. We received our pancake at 13.15

An absolute disaster. They got our order wrong, didn't bring our food when it was supposed to, and when we complained, they ran out of croissants and served us something else (which we didn't want). Plus, it's disproportionately expensive. We won't be back.
