Had a wonderful meal with friends. Sat by the open window and enjoyed the delicious food and the ambiance.

Nice restaurant, very friendly service. The food tasted delicious, but unfortunately it wasn't properly heated.

We were very satisfied with our experience at Steam in Scheveningen last year, so our expectations were high. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. The mushrooms in the truffle burger were clearly not washed properly, as they were sandy. The fries sauce in the bowls had dried on top, and our request for the salad on a separate plate was apparently ignored.

We had burgers with fries. They were alright, but don't expect a particularly memorable culinary experience. Non-alcoholic drinks like Coca-Cola are overpriced at €3.90 for 0.2l. There's no view of the beach, only the dike. The service could be a bit more attentive. You won't go wrong here, but it's not quite a four-star experience.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it! After an hour's wait, the food wasn't very good. The salmon was far too dry, the pangasius was unfortunately burnt, and the burger was burnt.

It was awful! First, we had to wait 60 minutes for the food, then one dish was FORGOTTEN, and then we had to wait another 10 minutes for the missing item. When we finally got to eat, we discovered that the burgers were completely burnt. The fish had a rubbery texture. I absolutely do not recommend it!!!

It was busy according to the staff (but many empty tables), so it could take 15 minutes before we got our drinks. After more than 30 minutes, we still hadn't received anything... the staff were nowhere to be seen either.

A very inviting restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious, and our dog was quickly given a water bowl. What bothered us, and visibly other guests as well, was the long wait for a server. The guests next to us asked for the bill, and for half an hour, no server was to be seen. We had a very similar experience. We wanted to order dessert and also had to wait a very long time before we could even place an order. The live music was lovely, but a bit too loud over the speakers 😅

Upon arrival, we had to wait quite a while before we could order anything. We had ordered bread with herb butter, which arrived 45 minutes later; it was "in the oven," but when we asked about it, it was there within 2 minutes. It took a very long time before we received the food. We didn't get the starter until after an hour and a quarter. The main course also took a very long time. When we finally received it, it was only half of it, and the rest arrived 5 minutes later. Most of the fries were just cold, and the salmon was cold too. We did get new fries and salmon when we pointed it out. However, the English-speaking waiter stood out; he was very friendly. The music was also quite loud.

The food was unfortunately not at all worth the price. We ordered a burger and a steak. Both were disappointing. The service and the location, however, were good.

We spent our Easter family holiday here in Noordwijk and ate at this restaurant. My father's piece of meat was partially undercooked (it was a much thicker piece than all the others). The entire meal was promptly replaced without any fuss. After that, it was perfect.

The food was fantastic; we both had the half chicken with mango-ginger sauce, it was divine. The stroopwafel ice cream for dessert is also highly recommended. Very friendly and attentive service; we'll definitely be back.

The price-performance ratio is extremely questionable. There were only two staff members, one woman and one man. The restaurant was nearly empty. The staff behaved completely inappropriately towards us. This is unacceptable! These two employees are definitely in the wrong profession. 👎👎👎👎👎

I am a fan of club sandwiches and have eaten many, but the one I had today at Steam is going to be at the top of my top 3. Generously topped with a fried egg, crispy chicken, cheese, and other fillings on delicious bread. Highly recommended!

We sat down outside around 7:30 pm. There was still spinach and sauce stuck to the table from the previous guests. We were able to order drinks relatively quickly, but then had to wait half an hour for them. Our appetizer arrived after 90 minutes. The main course came shortly after. The food tasted good, but the wait was far too long.

‼️NOT RECOMMENDED‼️ Unfortunately, several issues marred our visit: The service left much to be desired. After our empty appetizer plates were cleared away, no one came to our attention; we were sometimes ignored, and when we inquired, we were simply told that the food would arrive "soon." The beer we ordered wasn't brought until we asked a second time. The food itself wasn't great either: Some of the fries were cold, and you could still see the individual slices of cheddar cheese on my burger because it wasn't properly heated. Overall, the food was okay, but definitely not worth the service. Another disturbing aspect was the open kitchen: The staff were arguing loudly, which was particularly noticeable because there were only a few guests, and we could hear everything.

Unfortunately, the service was poor and the waiting times were long.

If you're looking for very friendly and attentive service, a cozy restaurant, fresh IPA on tap, delicious burgers and great live music, this is the place for you.

Unfortunately, a complete disappointment if you're expecting good food. The taste was nothing special. The vegetables were cold, the meat and sauces were bad. The service was incredibly slow and unmotivated. The location itself was nice and cozy. But everything else...

Our dog and we loved the food and the atmosphere. Our dog loves chicken so it was like a heaven for him! : )

After we ordered a beer, no one came to ask if we wanted anything else to drink or eat. We weren't even asked about food. Overall, it felt like they were only interested in making money, rather than taking care of the guests. Charging €7.80 for a beer is, in my opinion, quite overpriced. I've been to many restaurants and bars and have experienced much better service. Overall, it was disappointing and I wouldn't recommend it.

I work in the restaurant industry myself and have been to many establishments, but I have rarely experienced such poor service. We weren't even asked if we wanted anything to eat. After we ordered a beer, no one came to ask if we wanted anything else. You got the strong feeling that they were only interested in making money and not in the customers. On top of that, the price of €7.80 for a beer was completely exorbitant and, in my opinion, absolutely unjustified. Overall, it was a very negative experience. This is not what service and hospitality should be like – therefore, I cannot recommend this establishment.

Been here a while back but this place deserved a proper review. My wife and me were in the early afternoon for a good luch. The waiter was very quick to help us and she set up the fire at the table while taking our order. We both emjoy a good hamburger so we tried it at steam. The choice was wellmade because the burger patty was done perfectly (medium rare), the bun was lightly roasted and the rest was fresh and tasty. It was quiet when we were there but the atmosphere was good and the service and food was of well above the standard of most other local places. The price was fair so with all the other good points in mind we will go here more often.

Cozy interior, lovely fire going. But the price-quality ratio is below par. Service is impersonal. When we pointed out that the fries were already cold when they arrived, they were touched by hand and nonverbally told us they weren't too bad. Not something we'll be returning to.

Not even worth one star... I read many negative reviews, but I still decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right choice. We waited way too long for our main course. It was simply forgotten. After 50 minutes, I asked where it was because everyone after us had already eaten. When the food arrived, I had cold chicken. The fries were far too under-fried. I forgot to put on a Coke, so I waited for nothing. And be warned: it's cold in the restaurant. People were eating with coats on. Please don't go there.

We've eaten at Steam twice in a short time. The first time was on New Year's Day, a lunch date. We had to wait almost an hour for lunch to be served. We were told the chef was having a mental breakdown. The second time, in the afternoon, we ordered appetizers, including crispy chicken tenderloins. You'd expect a piece of real chicken with a crust. I have no idea what it was, but it tasted more like fried dog food. It's also quite cold, you can feel the draft, and there are leaks. The patio might be nice in the summer, but Steam is out of the question for us during the winter months.

I went to the hamburger night with my son, and they were delicious! The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was relaxed, with all the fireplaces lit.

Went for the first time today. The salad was quite large and looked really good. After the first two bites, I was already done with it; it had a terribly sweet sauce on top, and sweet balsamic vinegar too. Not a success.

Cold and uncomfortable. Had to put on a coat because of the cold. It needs a refresh/renovation. The wall-mounted heating worked only 1 out of 5 times. It was very cold.

Just an ordinary restaurant, food is reasonable.

Words can’t describe how wonderful of a time we had !! Debbie was our waitress and she really went out her way to! The food was lukewarm and served on a very small platter. It looked nice, but half of the meal fell off the platter. They should have thought about that more carefully! We wanted dessert after our hot meal. When the waiter arrived at our table, he said, "I need someone else to take our order." We said, "That's fine, of course." But after 15 minutes of no one showing up, we paid and complained.

Tonight I ordered a steak with sweet potato fries over the phone. When we got home, my order came with regular fries, so we returned it. It turns out they hadn't received any sweet potatoes for three days without informing me. I then asked if they could add something else for the same price, but that wasn't possible. After that, I struggled to get my money back. When I got home, my steak was cold and red inside.

We had a delicious meal in a wonderful atmosphere on Friday evening. We had carpaccio as a starter. It was the perfect temperature and simply delicious (personally, I would have used slightly different toppings, but tastes vary). The main course was a steam special with chicken legs, rib fingers, and Lady steak with two sauces, some vegetables, and Flemish fries. Everything was very delicious. The Lady steak was especially delicious. For dessert, we had a homemade Twix, highly recommended! And a coupe with ice cream, whipped cream, stroopwafels, and caramel sauce. There was live music throughout the evening, and the shop was tastefully decorated. The staff was also very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Great place where, very importantly for us, we were allowed to bring our dogs. We had a delicious lunch; the chicken club sandwich and steamed chicken are highly recommended. Cozy interior, friendly staff.

Had a Steam cheese burgers ! Try Burger lovers 😋

We took advantage of a 2-for-1 offer that was valid in November. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. They were very attentive to our needs with a toddler.

That cheeseburger is absolutely delicious! The delivery (via Thuisbezorgd) was also fantastic; the delivery driver has a live tracker (which is accurate) so you know exactly when your food will arrive! The only minor point I have is that they might want to put the fries in a container instead of a paper bag, as they can arrive a bit soggy this way, but that is really the only tiny downside.

The Caesar salad unfortunately wasn't what you'd expect from a classic Caesar salad, especially the dressing. However, the bread with aioli as a starter was delicious, and the service was very friendly. Overall, though, it wasn't anything special for the price. Then, to make matters worse, a mouse sat on the windowsill next to us. It must have come in because of the cold, and apparently, this is a problem in all the restaurants in Noordwijk.

We had a Soup and a Cheeseburger. Both was really good and also the Service- Tristen - was really friendly. Also the Atmosphere was really nice. We felt really happy and we will visit Steam again - for sure :-)

Very nice restaurant in cozy rustic design

Today I had a delicious meal with the family at Steam Noordwijk. We'd been to Scheveningen before, but this place also deserves 5 stars! Definitely recommended!!

The lady steak was tough as leather. The chicken salad was from a supermarket. In short: a tourist shack.

I had found some nice dishes on the menu. However, after ordering drinks and receiving them, we were simply ignored and couldn't even order a meal after asking. We've never experienced such a situation where guests who wanted food were ignored. Other guests were served. Strange. No stars for the food. We didn't have a chance to test it.

We had dinner here on our wedding anniversary. We've known the restaurant for three years and have generally been satisfied, but this time we were very disappointed in every respect. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks, even though the entire restaurant only had five tables occupied. The starter soup arrived cold after 20 minutes. We had to ask for our main courses again after 40 minutes...had they simply forgotten about us? The rib-eye and salmon were okay, the vegetables were cold again, and the portions of fries were probably for three-year-olds. Throughout our entire visit, half the restaurant was filled with the smell of burnt smoke coming from the kitchen. The manager, who took our order and also paid us, was very rude and didn't address our complaints at all. When I repeatedly pointed out that the soup and vegetables had been served cold and the wait was almost an hour, she simply said that the chef was apparently not fully focused in the kitchen. She suddenly avoided further discussion by acting as if she no longer understood German. There was no apology, and she charged full price for all drinks and food, including the cold soups and cold vegetables. We won't be visiting this restaurant again.

0 stars. We arrived for dinner at 8:15 PM on Friday evening and were told the kitchen was already closed. The chickens were still on the spit. This was the second time this year. Ridiculous! NEVER AGAIN!!!

The interior is very stylishly decorated. We dined on the terrace on the boulevard. It took a while before we were served. Half a grilled chicken with mango and a 200g steak, both delicious and plentiful.

Got grilled chicken to go. The chicken was good, but one chicken for 40 euros is quite pricey, if I say so myself.

It's terrible here; they don't have anything you ask for. First, we ordered iced coffee and they didn't have it. The fries were lukewarm, and they had put out the wrong fries. Then they didn't have the sauce we ordered; they were out of it. It also said the fries were 6.50, but we were charged 7.50, and according to them, it was the wrong one on the menu. Never eat here again.

First, we wanted an iced coffee, but they didn't have it. Then we ordered fries with curry and truffle fries. The curry was gone, and the fries were lukewarm and soft. My fries were then €6.50 on the menu. When we got the receipt for my regular fries, they charged €7.50, so I asked and mentioned it, and was told, "It's wrong on the menu..." Never again!

Everything could have been soo much better. Food is good. But some old pictures really show the changes made in the recent years and they are not for the better. Prices are much much higher than few years back but portions also got smaller. No possibility for a whole chicken on the menu but the price for half of one is now the same as a whole. Pretty shameful if you know the price for a chicken. Decor seems a bit outdated and it seems that u surprisingly there was much sand in the place but not in places where you are expecting it. Also some old food was on the floor. Unfortunately have no pictures of the food itself because presentation was actually pretty decent. As for a Dutch place where sauce is a big thing usually they really skim down on that as well unfortunately. I myself personally don't see me coming back here for more. Once was enough.

Ate here several times last week. Just went on August 18, 2025, and we left because the waitress was terrible. We waited patiently for a table, and she gave tables to other people who came after us. We could sit outside, which wasn't a problem for us. But when we told her we were definitely earlier and she should look into it in the future, she got very rude and told us to go somewhere else. Such a shame about the staff!

This was the warst service I ever received. I was not allowed to food, only drinks. After the drinks arrived the waiter ran away without letting me order. We were then ignored by the staff. Ultimately my wife and I didn't even bother to start drinks and just left after paying. Zero stars

The rib-eye steak was very good. Perfectly cooked, with an attractive presentation on a wooden plate. The "Tramontina" steak knives were also very good. These are excellent steak knives that have made their way from Brazil to Nordwijk. The service was very friendly, competent, and fast. Our order was processed very quickly. We had a wonderful time at this restaurant, where we were warmly welcomed with our dogs. The server was truly lovely and attentive, and even made the effort to speak French—a gesture we greatly appreciated. The food was generous and tasty, made with quality ingredients. A place where you feel at home, both for humans and dogs! We'll be happy to return.

Nice decor and friendly staff. The food was good overall: homemade calamari but completely cold, and the Caesar salad first forgot the bacon, then forgot the croutons and Parmesan cheese.

We came for a nice dinner. We went for a three-course meal. Unfortunately, the caprese tomato still had the core in the slices. That's no problem; I can cut around that. However, the last slice had mold. The waiter apologized and said he'd be back soon. His colleague came over to explain what a tomato looks like. As if I couldn't tell the difference between a crown and mold. I was deeply indignant that I was treated like an incompetent person. I wish the aforementioned, apologetic waiter all the best and I hope he finds a good job at another company soon. I wouldn't want to work with these colleagues.
