Fantastic! Limited menu, but what they have is simply top-notch.

We had high expectations for the restaurant. I'm a kamado chef myself. The 321 spareribs were decent, but they lacked the BBQ flavor you get from charcoal cooking. In my opinion, they hadn't even seen the BBQ, and they certainly weren't smoked. The coleslaw served had been sitting out too long and had a rather unpleasant flavor. Moreover, it wasn't real coleslaw, but a raw vegetable salad with cabbage. The pork belly was a huge disappointment. It was fried pork belly. Pork belly should be cooked in one piece and smoked, after which you cut two or more thick slices for the guest. You should look at your own recipe cards to see how to prepare and serve it. For dessert, we ordered Rocky Road. It was made with pretzels. There were no nuts, biscuits, or marshmallows, which is how it should be. It was also rock hard because it was only chocolate and pretzels, and no liquid was used as an ingredient in the preparation. Last night we woke up with heart palpitations, heartburn, and drenched in sweat. What do they put in the food here? We won't be eating here again because we're so disappointed.

While on vacation in Putten, I stopped here for an evening, and my expectations were high. And they were met. A cozy restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food. We opted for the shared dining option. We had the combination of chicken and spare ribs, both very tender and tasty. It's served on a mini smoker, which looks very attractive and keeps the food nice and warm. We also had a delicious, clearly homemade coleslaw and a Mexican bean dish. Both very good. Unfortunately, you pay extra for fries here too. For dessert, I opted for an award-winning cheesecake, which I personally didn't like. But that's more a matter of taste than a lack of proper preparation. The price-quality ratio is good. In short...definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

I had beef brisket and it was sensational

We had a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere, with no rush. So nice and relaxed. The staff were friendly too.

We spent an hour and a half in the car to eat at this restaurant. Luckily, we had a reservation because the place was fully booked, even though they tried to make room for all the customers who showed up without a reservation. The food was fantastic; it was quite an experience in the BBQ world. I'll definitely go back. From the starter to the dessert, the food was delicious.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal, highly recommended! Extensive menu with lots of choices. Nice atmosphere, and you can even buy ingredients to use for your own BBQ. The service is friendly and approachable. In short, we'll definitely be back. Oh, and we enjoyed a delicious slice of cheesecake and jam at home :)

I had high expectations for this BBQ restaurant. It was disappointing. I ordered a plate for two people, and it was way too much sauce and too sweet. No BBQ flavor; I don't think they even touched the BBQ. The chicken was bad, the bacon was limp—in short, not what I expected. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Delicious meat, just not cooked by smoking. A bit of smoky flavor is added afterward with wood chips. So, just delicious meat, but not for the true gourmet looking for the real deal.

We arrived a little late but were allowed to have dinner anyway, the food was delicious, the waiter was very welcoming and everything was fine!

It pretends to be an American BBQ restaurant, but it really isn't. When you walk in, all you see is BBQ plates, rubs/spices, and prices, giving the impression that they're actually doing BBQ. I feel misled by all this. I've tried many different types of meat here, and none of them tasted like BBQ. Of course, everything is sprinkled with smoky rubs and spices, but that's quite different from cooking on a BBQ. I saw that everything was pre-cooked and reheated on the grill, so it's definitely not fresh. The brisket was very dry because of this, but the coleslaw was tasty. The Moonshine is just a teenage cocktail and therefore far from what it should be. I also didn't like the atmosphere; the chairs are hard and it's very dark. The service was good, as was the parking. I wouldn't recommend going here; go to a grill room; I think you'd be better off there.

Travelling from Canada 🇨🇦 with the family. Stopped at T-Rex Restaurant BBQ & Smokehouse for supper at the end of our trip. The staff were great, portions generous and food was amazing. I can see why they have so many awards! Definitely recommend.

We were staying at De Ijsvogel holiday park when we visited this restaurant. The menu really appealed to us. We're fanatic BBQ enthusiasts (smokers), so we were eager to try it. We enjoyed the Sharing BBQ Platter. These are served on a "Smokertje" table for two or more people, which is fantastic! The ambiance alone is amazing! Both the meat and fish were incredibly delicious! A solid 5 stars. The staff is enthusiastic and knows their stuff. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy, and the ambiance is also very inviting.

It is only possible to pay tablewise. And Not via Creditcard. It is important to know for larger groups. But the food and the service are very good.

Our favorite restaurants for over 20 years. The food is delicious every time, and they keep innovating while staying true to their concept. Their BBQ ribs are, in my opinion, the absolute highlight.

The food was delicious, that's for sure, but the "Have it all" menu is way, way overpriced. We ordered it for two people (so for 70 euros!), and got what you see in the picture: one chicken leg, six sparerib bones, one sausage, one piece of salmon, a small piece of pulled pork, and a slice of brisket. We had to order the fries separately. I inquired if it was true that the two of us got one of everything, but apparently that was the case. I was quite surprised.

It was a fantastic place. The food was perfectly tender and seasoned. My mother requested low-salt when she made the reservation, and that was carefully accommodated. The atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming. The waiters were very charming and kind.

Went here for a bite to eat on July 10, 2025. The service is truly fantastic! The food is excellent. If you want a truly good meal at a good price, T-Rex is highly recommended. I can't really think of anything that could be improved.

I don't understand where the other good reviews come from.. It calls itself a BBQ & Smokehouse but I don't think the ribs have seen the inside of the smoker. And certainly not according to the 3-2-1 method that they claim. Take the "buffalo style chicken wings". But they are just fried chicken wings with a sauce on top. The bread with the burgers or other dishes are sandwiches from the supermarket which seems to be the opposite. Finally, the fries are fried twice, or even more often. Everything here seems to have to be so cheap. I can't recommend this restaurant.

We spontaneously stopped by at 7:30 p.m. on a Thursday evening and were served immediately. Quality was very good Quantity was more than sufficient Taste was excellent We had a burger with side dishes (fries), a steak with peppercorn sauce, BBQ ribs (3 racks) with side dishes (coleslaw, beans, pickles, toast), and loaded fries with chili. The meat dishes were all very good. The steak and ribs were outstanding. The only downside: Drink prices were very overpriced and not clearly marked on the menu.

Decent American cuisine. However, we were refused entry the first time; it was 8:10 p.m. and the kitchens were apparently already closed. We came back another evening earlier, and what a surprise to see that locals arriving after 8 p.m. were still served. Is this customer-centric service? Or is it a problem with the French?

We ordered the Kogelbiefstuk and Kip&Rips and were thrilled. The meat was very good and tender, and it came away easily from the ribs. The service was also very attentive and quick. Personally, I also found the homemade Arretjescake very tasty. The extra mushroom sauce was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, an all-round successful visit. Many thanks to the team!

T-Rex is really a top choice when it comes to barbecue dishes. Good meat with tasty herb mixes and delicious fries. Buttery tender pork belly and tasty spare ribs were a party on the tongue. The salmon was also very tasty, in terms of cooking it could have been cooked a bit shorter in our opinion. The carpaccio was also very good. The service is friendly, attentive and relaxed. The interior of the restaurant is not super modern, but fits well with the atmosphere of a barbecue restaurant. The desserts were fine, but also a bit ordinary. All in all definitely recommended!

I went to this restaurant with my family for my wife's birthday. The experience was terrible. Bad service, an absurd delay before the order came, we had to ask for cutlery, the ribs were burnt, etc. When it came to paying, they did not accept payment by card with N26 and they even charged me 3 euros extra for paying with a Mastercard. I felt disadvantaged as a consumer. What a terrible treatment. I will never go back.

Monday evening we went to T-rex in Putten. It's really good food for a nice price and very friendly staff. We were helped quickly!

We came to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with my family — and it was a total disaster. The place was packed and severely understaffed. Service was beyond slow, and when we asked for plates to eat the mixed meat dish we ordered, the staff looked at us like we were from another planet. Everything took forever. When the food finally arrived, it was awful — overly spicy, poorly cooked, and absolutely not worth the wait. And the cherry on top? They charge an extra €3 fee if you pay with a Mastercard, whether debit or credit. Seriously? That’s outrageous. This place is falling apart — terrible food, awful service, and shady payment policies. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Never coming back.

We ate at T-Rex Smokehouse at the weekend – a really cozy place. The brisket was extremely tender and juicy, the ribs were beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection. We were really impressed and we can highly recommend it!

I went to this restaurant on a recommendation. After reading through all the Google reviews I decided on the spare ribs. I found this a solid 7/10. The meat wasn't tender enough for my taste, it didn't fall off the bone on its own. There was also a spicy sauce on the spare ribs that covered up the BBQ sauce. Not bad, but I would have liked the extra sauce in a separate small container. The ambience is nice and the waiters were very friendly. Overall good, but nothing “special” for me.

This restaurant has specialized in everything related to barbecue and it shows: they really know what they are doing here! The food we chose (salmon, brisket, chicken) was wonderfully tender and well prepared. The side dishes were also tasty and flavorful. So nothing to complain about in terms of food. The speed of recording and serving was pleasant. The dessert was also fine, although the pieces of stroopwafel in my ice cream were rock hard because they were frozen There were also downsides: the cassis I received was not cold. The service seemed friendly but also a bit rushed. Due to the barbecue in the restaurant it was quite smoky inside so not really recommended for people with breathing problems. All in all we had a great evening here with some minor areas for improvement

A steakhouse that doesn't understand the difference between English and Medium. Unfortunately, there are no more drinks if you don't order twice immediately. It's a shame, the atmosphere is good, unfortunately there's not enough space between the tables. It's better to increase the price but offer quality. Never again.

If you really know BBQ, you know this is not the best. We had the 'Have it all' platter to try out the Brisket, the Ribs, the Chicken and the Sausage. The Brisket looked red inside, probably from the seasoning, which makes it seem like it was marinated long instead of having a crust by charring it on the BBQ longer periods of time. The Ribs were the 'fall on the bone kind', but they seemed to have used the same marination (red colored meat), which gave it a similar flavor as the Brisket. The same counted for the Chicken which was way too salty again with a similar flavor (red colored meat). It would have been better if each had its own flavor, definitely on the same platter, which seemed like a missed opportunity. The Sausage actually was the best tasting meat, which had jalapeno in it for the spice. Also the loaded fries with chili (we opted out of the bacon bits) was delicious. The staff and service was super friendly.

We came to this restaurant through TikTok. We are huge fans of grill and BBQ and we definitely had to try this spot out. What stood out was the staff. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even when we asked what they recommended, they were well thought out and everything was correct. This made the experience very pleasant. The food was tasty. We took the BBQ platter for 2 people because we wanted to try everything. What we liked most were the bacon, spare ribs and the beef brisket. The dessert cake was also very tasty! If we are ever in the area, we will definitely visit again.

Although it is a long drive, this was certainly not the last time. Just plan days in and around Putten to go to this restaurant :-)

What a wonderful meal we had here tonight! It was truly an American BBQ experience! Because we couldn't choose, we decided to "have it all" which turned out to be an excellent choice! A little bit of everything. We really enjoyed it and have had a lot of BBQ's but this really surpassed everything! And also a compliment to the service tonight, everything went really well, they made sure that we had a great experience all in all!

My wife had the BBQ Chicken which was magnificent! Also just falls off the bone. We also had a little cup of BBQ beans which fits perfectly with this season!
