Lamb with lentils is served with yellow peas. Lamb korma is sweet. The lamb is cooked and then placed in a sauce. Biryani is rather unflavorful. Phulau rice is barely seasoned. Apparently a different chef than last year.

We really enjoy Indian restaurants and I always order a King Prawn Korma. The one at this restaurant is the best I've had. And the Peshwari Naan was crispy and filled with raisins and little pieces of lychee. So good. Fair price. Extremely friendly staff. Will be back and highly recommend!!!

Wonderful restaurant, exquisite service, relaxed atmosphere, very attentive staff, and the best part: You can eat with complete peace of mind because everything is gluten-free. An ideal place for those with celiac disease.

What amazing food and service! It really is the best food we have had in sometime. We ordered two chicken dishes, a dal, and a naan. The portions are amazing. And if you do overeat here, I completely understand. It's hard not to so you're definitely not the only one :)

Besides the location and decent taste of food, I was heavily disheartened by seeing a fellow indian immigrant deny me a glass of tap water, which I believe is a basic human gesture. It wasn't like if didn't order a complete meal for two people. Not recommended. Providing us with a complementary dessert doesn't make it even for me.

Don’t order here. Horrendous. They will tell you it takes 1 hour, but it takes over 2 hours. When you call them to ask when the food will be delivered, they will tell you “it’s coming in 15 minutes”. But it takes another hour. Save yourself the time and order somewhere else.

Amazing hospitality and the taste was even better than what we get in India. We tried their bestseller - chicken tikka masala, dal fry and the kheer. All were such big potions. Probably the best Indian restaurant in all of Netherlands.

I took my family of 6 out on a Friday evening and was greeted with warm smiles and even better food. Take some time as a local or a tourist to spend an evening here. Spicy or mild, the menu has a fit for you.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. They even treated us to a delicious dessert! I highly recommend the paneer butter masala and the garlic naan. It's the perfect place to go if you're in the mood for a relaxed atmosphere with well-cooked dishes that are filling and a welcoming dining experience.

Very good samosa, good butter chicken but nothing special. However the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan were excellent ! The service was also amazing, all the staff was really sweet, and they gave us lots of free food (papadam, salad, ice cream).

I've been coming here many times over the years and am pleasantly surprised every time. The food is truly delicious, the vindaloo is incredibly spicy and delicious! The staff are super friendly, the interior is super nice and the atmosphere is relaxed, and outside you feel like you're in the middle of Amsterdam 😊

The first time I eat at an Indian restaurant I always order lamb saag. The lamb saag at Taj was as good as I have had. .The service was great.

We were late for dinner as most restaurants close by 10pm. They are upen to 11pm but they even accommodated someone who came just at 10.55pm.. Food was great, portions adequate, naan smaller than usual but very fluffy and fresh. Taran was very courteous even though our 18 months daughter got scared of him :)

We discovered this restaurant several years ago during our first trip to Amsterdam and had fond memories of it. Back in the city, we decided to return, and it was just as good! The dishes are generous, tasty, and of high quality. The staff is lovely, attentive, and always smiling, making it even more enjoyable. We loved our second visit, and we'll definitely be back again :)

The absolute best Indian food in Amsterdam, or anywhere else for that matter. Been to many Indian restaurants, the food at Taj Indian is the best I have had as of yet. Good hot fresh meats sauces and sides, perfectly balanced ingredients, kind and professional staff, nice prices, ice cold beverages, a homemade naan-bread to die for, and a sublime genuine indian icecream with a cappuccino for dessert. Wow. So good on all levels. This is a no brainer; you want Indian food in Amsterdam - go to THIS restaurant. Enjoy !

Had lunch here while visiting Amsterdam. Out of all Indian Restaurants, I found taste here at Taj most authentic. Mr Taran at the restaurant is very humble and ensured we had an excellent experience at the restaurant. I recommend it as First choice for Indian Flavour in Amsterdam ..

Ordered from this store, unfortunately suffered FOOD POISONING. :( Spoke to the owner, who denies that it has anything to do with his food and offers the option of refunding part of the price. I think it's a shame that the gentleman was not prepared to properly apologize and find a solution together.

Excellent food and quantities. We were recommended lamb rogan josh and chicken Karahi from the staff. And boy was it lovely. One of the best naan in Europe too. At the end they gave us complimentary kheer with chunks of Kulfi. Amazing amazing food.

Don’t normally order takeaway’s in Amsterdam, but we have ordered from this place twice in two weeks every think we’ve ordered (butter chicken, tikka masala, onion bhaji + more) nothing to fault! Most tender chicken and everything full of flavour. Got a complimentary mango Lassie and Samosa. Great delivery service also! We will be back soon!!

Hands down one of the best Indian Restaurants in the Netherlands. Everything is freshly made in the traditional way with fine ingredients and a memorable blend of spices and herbs. Staff is friendly and attentive. Prices and portions are honest too, which is not the norm in Amsterdam. Overall, a memorable culinary experience.

Walked in 40 minutes before closing, got given a table. Waiter/owner was very cranky. Did not try to engage in friendly small talk. Served me onion bhaji with a hair in it that could not have been mine. On to the next Indian restaurant

Best Indian food I’ve ever had ! Tharan who was our wonderful host ensured we had an excellent time. We travelled from Canada to Amsterdam and none of our party of 5 ever had food this tasty ! The food was made quick, was fresh and tasty. The price was very reasonable the next time I visit Amsterdam I will be sure to come back again ! My favourite was the lamb dishes and the garlic and cheese naan.

A gem in the heart of Amsterdam. The food was delicious, qt a reasonable price and the staff friendly. I love this place and will eat here again many times. I recently visited Taj Indian Restaurant Amsterdam with friends, and we were truly impressed by the experience. From the very first bite, it was evident that the chef puts in great effort to ensure the authentic taste of India is not missed. The highlight of our meal, however, was the kheer; it brought back nostalgic taste I had back in hometown with its perfect sweetness and creamy texture. The ambiance was warm, and the service was friendly, making the whole experience even better.

Staff were very attentive very friendly. The food was absolutely amazing. Probably be one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to and I come from the UK we have a lot to choose from but this was definitely up there. Totally recommend.

We arrived in Amsterdam on Valentine’s Day and hadn’t thought to book anywhere for dinner. We popped in here and the owner made room for us. The food was excellent. As a vegetarian, there was a lot of choice. The owner also went for special little touches and gave each of the ladies a rose as they left and also made a valentines themed complimentary dessert. (Which was delicious) The atmosphere was great, the staff were great, the food was great and the price was great. We would definitely come back here if we return to Amsterdam.
