As someone who grew up in Asia; the food served here, the ambiance and even the owners reminds me of my late grandparents home and It nearly brought me to tears. The food tasted like what my mom or grandmother would make for me after a long day and If you grew up in Asia, you'll definitely know what I mean. Home style indian food - Had some amazing Veg/Vegan options. We tried the Pani Puri, Shahi Paneer, Butter Naan - and it was simply fantastic.

Possibly the worse Indian food we have ever eaten - overly salty and overly greasy, with a distinct back taste of airplane fare.

We had dinner here. Veg Biryani was good and the uncle was good to talk to. Dal Makhani + Butter Naan combo tasted exactly like packaged ready-to-eat and butter naan was the bread kulcha picked from a supermarket (which was neither a naan nor it had butter). It wasn't authentic Indian!

I came here with my friends after hearing all the wonderful things they had to say and it was beyond my expectations. It’s not often that you experience such warmth and generosity here in Amsterdam, flavours of india is truly a feeling of home away from home. The food is authentic, heartwarming and utterly delicious. Do make it here, it’s an experience you won’t forget. Uncle and Aunty really put their heart into everything they serve.

Delicious food, truly traditional. And incredibly friendly people. Compared to other Indian restaurants, this one truly excels! I've seen all the reviews saying you get very little filling and a lot of sauce, but it's actually perfectly proportioned!

After placing my order over the phone, I went to pick up the food after the agreed-upon time (30 minutes). Unfortunately, it wasn't ready yet, and they didn't know anything about it. The man who had taken the order was there, by the way. They then proceeded to prepare everything, or rather, toss it in the microwave. Why he initially said half an hour, I have no idea, because it wasn't busy and he was only on the phone. If it's not freshly prepared, you shouldn't have to wait 30 minutes, I suppose. The food was okay. Quite tasty. Onion bhajis were delicious, but the lamb curry was almost entirely sauce... there were no fresh vegetables like onion, tomato, bell pepper, or chili in the sauce. Rice costs €3 extra, so ultimately, it's a rather pricey curry for which you don't really get much.

I always order (takeaway) my Indian here. Food is super tasty and is good spicy. Also the owner is very friendly. The only thing is that sometimes the food is a bit too salty for me. Overall very good!

What we ordered: Shammi kebab, Nihari and Aubergine (baigan) curry. Why we loved it: Flavour packed- sour, salty, balance of spice. Basically licked the plate clean. Why we will come back, other than the food: For the warmth and company of the owners.

We had a wonderful experience at Flavors of India! We ordered naan, chili chicken, and butter chicken — everything was delicious. The chili chicken was especially excellent, perfectly spiced and full of flavor. We also tried the mango lassi, and it was one of the best we’ve had. The owner was incredibly kind and warm, making us feel truly at home. As Indians, we really appreciated the authentic flavors and the welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for real Indian hospitality and amazing food!

I had dinner here and I mentioned that I would like to have the beef curry but not too spicy. They told me that they could make it mild but it was still spicy. I had to pay €5 for a mango lassi which was served in a plastic cup, like at the snackbar. And when I got the bill, I had to pay €4,50 extra for rice and naan bread, not even the fresh naan bread but the packaged one from the supermarket. Really disappointing. €25 is way too much for this.

Very small portions and expensive (15 euros per bowl) for what you get. A chicken dish only had a few small pieces of chicken, otherwise just sauce. Paneer dish was delivered without paneer because paneer was gone. In addition, all dishes seemed to be diluted.

The Naan were clearly frozen ones microwaved and served, small naan. A naan is big and full, somehow their scale of naan is not accurate. The Dal Makhni had no Makhan, Paneer saag also tasted like the Haldiram one. They perhaps don't know the importance of being truthful with food, especially from an Indian culture point of view. I felt cheated and served frozen premade food microwaved.

Ate at Flavours of India for the first time and was absolutely delighted! Incredibly sweet owners, authentic Indian food, very affordable and just all round really delicious. Highly recommend! Thank you Rizwan!

The food from Flavors of India is so so so nice that you can sense the homey feeling from it even as a takeout. The owners and workers are the sweetest and, honestly, at my house we often catch ourselves talking about the pakoras and mango lassi. As a matter of fact, now we have to order it tomorrow too. Anyways, we love them.

The portion size is so small. Nothing is fresh. They literally microwave frozen naan right in front of you. It was overall an okayish experience, nothing extraordinary.

Specially the tea, with tinge of cardamom n ginger will recharge your indian taste buds. They serve halal non veg, cherry on the top (if you prefer). Awesome place, must must must visit.

It is one of the best authentic indian restaurants , trust me being a North Indian I know what a butter chicken is and this place just served it right. Chicken biryani also had just the perfect flavours and aroma Indian chai had all the taste of a chai made with correct blend of chai masala Also the place does is not too pricey and you get a good deal in the heart of amsterdam Rizwan ji is also such a gentleman making sure everyone goes happy and satisfied from his place

Probably the best desi food option in entire Amsterdam. We had a great Nehari Naan Chai and pakoras and we loved it. It is run by two beautiful persons (husband and wife). It was our last night in Amsterdam, when my husband found this amazing place called “flavors of India”. It was truly an amazing experience. It gives you home cooked meals vibes as the taste of the food is fabulous. The owner and his wife are very nice and welcoming people. We ordered appetizers (Pakoras) and nihari with naan which turned out very delicious. In the end we had superb masala chai (tea). The prices of the food are quite reasonable. Anyone looking for authentic desi cuisines must give it a try. 5 stars from my side.

Definitely the best garlic naan I´ve ever had! The owners are a lovely couple, they explained the different menu options to us in detail and we had some great smalltalk afterwards. Definitely one of the nicest owners I´ve ever chatted with. The place is rather small but there were enough tables to sit at. Outside are a few parking options. You could feel how much passion both of them have for an authentic Indian cuisine, it almost created a familiar atmosphere, especially with the kitchen so near. The food came quickly and the place was clean. The palak paneer was a bit too spicy for me (but it has to be like that), so just make sure you tell them how spicy you want your dishes to be if you´re as sensitive as I am 😁 All in all really good quality for a decent price, would always come back to try even more dishes here :)

Samosa chaat was good. We ordered butter naan and dal makhani and realised and also noticed that it was not freshly cooked. It was made from ready to eat pack of haldiram(was getting cooked in microwave in front of us only) which was disappointing as if somebody is going to restaurant, they want to have the fresh food and not the packed one.

Really great Indian food. I'm saying this as an Indian living in Amsterdam. We enjoyed the kip biriyani, the kip pakoras, the samosa chaat ans lamb curry (recommended) and the mango lassi. Lovely service by the elderly couple who have been running this place for 3 decades+. They're open till 12:30 am !

Rude owner . Forgot something every time. Like I'm not paying.. you guys are a bunch of thieves. Pay 19ero for mix and then forget about it. Every time something costs up 🤑🤑

2nd time getting Pani Puri here and from the looks of it, this will be one of my go-to places. Never had them before, but these are truly delicious. My little girl even got some extra empty shells this time, because she just loves the crunch. Also love the "Cutlet"? Mashed potato, filled with a grinded meat mixture, breaded and fried for that crunchy bite. I love to add some of the green tangy spicy soupy liquid from the pani puri, on top of this fried snack.

Excellent meal, best Indian meal I've had in Netherlands ! Ordered the Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan and Rice, Veggie Biryani and Mango Lassi. Will definitely be back. The owners are hands on and prepare all the food.

Tbh we had high expectations with my finance. We ordered butter chicken some and some meat dish with naan and rice. Naan and rice didin’t even arrived. Butter chicken had only 4 piece of chicken inside and was cold probably microwaved. Souce was too spicy….It also took almost 2 hours to deliver… I believe owners are nice people and so but they should improve about giving right items for orders and improve food portions and quality. I felt like spending 26 € throw to the air…🗿

Clean restaurant but we had to pay a lot on our last visit. Just as much as online ordering. We paid 20 euros for 2 portions of rice, while online it costs 4.50 euros

Really nice place and yummy food. We ordered lamb biryani, beef biryani, mango lassi and rasmalai. Everything was really good. We got some time to chat with the owner and he is one of the nicest people we've met. Highly recommended.

This place is a heaven for those seeking authentic desi food! Obviously we had the Nihari, which was highly recommended to us, and boy was it a delight. Real nihari taste, just like home made in Pakistan. Ooof! What a fantastic surprise in Amsterdam. It seemed like a family owned enterprise. Bit of a late review as I visited late Sep 2023. Excellent food - Biryani and the Indian Chai. The owners (Uncle & Aunty), were very friendly and were able to satisfy our cravings with some delicious food. Great customer service. I just hoped this was a bigger place, based on the number of customers that turned up that evening!

The nihari was amazing. Searched all of Amsterdam for a restaurant that does an authentic Karachi style nihari and it really done the job. The karak chai was also a great way to finish the meal

I went with my friends to this place. We had to hurry to the airport for our flight. We ordered Chicken biryani and we requested to be quick. Surprisingly it's not just quick and it's delicious. I highly recommend going to this place.

This place deserves only good ratings. - great communication, and friendly staff, super helpful - great fresh food, big portions and good deals - best butter chicken and samoas ever - sometimes I receive extra items or sauces ( maybe it was a mistake but it occurred multiple times now) I did a large order and we got a bunch of sauce and some mystery dish that was amazing. - fast delivery If I could give more then 5 stars I would, I hope they never stop making this great food

Got a Sheek Biryani yesterday in the pouring rain. Excellent spicy taste with cardamon, chili and cloves. Super rice and tender meat from the grill. Great combination with the fresh yoghurt/raita sauce. Exactly what you need in this drizzly weather. Definitely going back sometime.

Usually our go-to Indian shop in the neighbourhood. Made several orders previously with no complaints - for some reason this evening things were different. It took around 90-120 minutes for our food to be delivered (exact time my partner and are I not sure, as the driver didn’t ring the bell on the door). Food was left outside to get cold with no notification from the driver. I ordered the peper chicken and was upset to see 2/3 pieces of chicken in a half empty plastic container…. Usually very content with everything from Flavours, but not sure we’ll be ordering again anytime soon.

A budget friendly hidden gem. This place doesn’t tries to be like a typical restaurant, but rather a space where you can get Indian food which suits your palate. As the owners are happy to make either the usual European version or on request, the authentic Indian version of the same dish. As an Indian I have been searching for some authentic Indian food but other restaurants here mostly serve a more neutralised version of the dishes. But here you can make special requests, for e.g: you can order authentic goat Biryani a day prior and they’ll make it the authentic way i.e. with proper spices & meat with bone!

Nice old Muslim couple from Pakistan (?) They claim they are from Bangalore. Food is good. But precooked and made warm in microwave.

The food was delicious and the staff were very acconadating then also have an English menu with a great choice of vegan foods.. I would recommend and we would definitely return Plus there is a beautiful beach just a stone throw away

The gentleman that helped us, I assume the owner, had a great atmosphere that warmed the entire place. That hits you almost as fast as the great smells as you walk through the door. He makes his food with passion and pride and you can definitely taste it in the food. The food, by far some of the best I have tasted. I will come back as much as I can.
