Super friendly staff. You just feel welcome. And the food? Exquisite! I love Indian cuisine, but I’ve never had anything this delicious before.

We came here for dinner today and are very pleased with the experience overall. The owner was really polite and the food itself was delicious. 🤤 Our craving for Indian food was fully satisfied.

An excellent experience at Koh-I-Noor in Amsterdam, very well located next to the Anne Frank House, which also makes it a very good option for lunch or dinner if you are visiting this area of ​​the city. We liked absolutely everything: the food, the service and the atmosphere. The menu is extensive and allows you to take a good tour of Indian cuisine. There is a wide variety of chicken and lamb curries, fish and shrimp dishes, biryanis and specialties prepared in the tandoor, in addition to an extensive vegetarian offer. There are from the classic samosas and onion bhajee to start to dishes such as chicken tikka tandoori, butter chicken, vindaloo, saag paneer, aloo gobi, dal tarka or chana masala, with options that range from mild and creamy flavors to much more intense and spicy curries. They also have a good selection of Indian breads (naan, garlic naan, cheese naan or peshwari naan) and accompaniments such as pilau rice and raita, ideal for sharing and tasting different combinations. We found the cuisine to be very tasty, aromatic and well-prepared, with generous portions and a varied enough menu so that both those who eat meat or fish and those who prefer vegetarian options will find many alternatives. The service was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant. A detail that seems minor but that, in Amsterdam, makes a huge difference: they offer tap water. This is surprisingly unusual in many restaurants in the city, where often the only alternative is to order an individual bottle of mineral water that can cost around €4.50. The fact that they serve you tap water here as normal seems to me to be a gesture of customer service that is very much appreciated. A highly recommended Indian restaurant, with a prime location next to the Anne Frank House, an extensive menu, very good food, excellent service and great value for money. Without a doubt, to repeat when we return to Amsterdam. 5 stars well deserved!

Fantastic Indian food and very friendly!

The food was delicious, and it was a very clean and quiet Indian restaurant. My daughter couldn't handle too much spice, so the owner immediately provided mango dipping sauce, which really helped reduce the spiciness 😃

The restaurant is non-smoking, air-conditioned, has two restrooms, and doesn't play deafening Indian pop music. The dining environment is clean. Food is kept warm with heaters, even the plates are pre-heated, demonstrating their commitment to quality. Delicious food is a given, and the prices are quite reasonable. Highly recommended.

Very tasty, authentic food (can be very spicy, but the waiter will warn you). The air conditioning is a bit too cold, but it will be turned down upon request.

We visited Anne frank house and saw this restaurant which is near and decided to try. Good customer service and a lovely lamb biriani made to order. We were offered excellent and friendly service and were helped to choose from the menu. Would recommend.

It's been a while since I've had chicken biranyani. I found this restaurant through Google. I ordered a chicken biranyani, and the food was delicious and quite spicy. Super delicious, I thoroughly enjoyed it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Soup was free, by the way, super delicious. I got three different sauces. Salad was free. Well, my day was perfect.

excellent restaurant, one of the best I've been to - the reception and hospitality was off the charts, with the waiting staff and hosts being very friendly and welcoming - my girlfriend is coeliac, and the employees were super knowledgeable about the items containing or not containing gluten - huge range of products suitable for us to share and enjoy, and while it was definitely on the pricey side, the quality and overall quantity of the portions were excellent !! located very close to the Anne Frank House, you absolutely cannot miss this gem

Had a great experience here with a wide variety of food and options for all dietary options. We are pescatarian and had the best fish dishes all trip here. If you are nice you get free tap water (a delicacy). Highly recommend the Indian spiced tea and the beer. The owner makes a big effort to create a special experience. He really cared about how each individual in our party felt and it really made our dinner better. Had a really enjoyable dinner overall.

We received a very friendly welcome. We were asked to wait inside without a reservation. It took a while to get a table, but we were constantly checked on, drinks were served, and we were always informed about the status. The food was fabulous, and the service was very friendly. As an apology for the long wait, we received a glass of wine on the house and a heartfelt apology. Definitely recommended for lovers of Indian cuisine.

Absolutely incredible Indian food topped off with excellent service. This is probably the best Indian meal I've ever had. We were greeted warmly and offered papadams before our meal and tea after on the house. All of the staff were very friendly. High quality curry. Couldn't have been any better.

I had a wonderful experience here! I ordered the chicken wings, Madras soup, and tandoori mix — all were absolutely delicious, and the portions are massive. The servers are friendly, helpful, and very attentive, which really made the meal even better. The atmosphere is warm and unique, with seating areas decorated with profiles of India’s geography — such a thoughtful touch. Just a note: the working hours during summer and pre-fall are a bit different from what’s listed on Google, so it’s good to double-check before visiting. Definitely a must-try spot if you love great Indian food!

In amsterdam after trying all indian rest we went to jordaan area to find good taste . We tried lentil soup, rajma and bhajia those were good taste you can eat for your soul here. They did accomodate for spice level but didnt make specially something on request. Other restaurent doesnt have good taste but they made out of the menu dishes for my baby on request. But I recommend them if you are looking for good indian resaturent in amsterdam. Must try them.

I've eaten at your place three times now! The food is absolutely DELICIOUS, but after using the restroom, you lose your appetite... The restrooms are truly disgusting... I really hope you address this, because that's why I don't even want to come back. Washing your hands isn't an option in such a filthy restroom. Hence the three stars, purely for the restroom!

Service was discriminatory, very rude and unwelcoming. We came during pride but the restaurant was not full to capacity. We had a large table and when one more friend joined, the owner/manager even said he would not feed another person even though we had ordered more than enough to share around. He didn’t even want to give our friend a chair at first. Was shocked that at how poorly we were treated, very disappointing and will not be back.

Great restaurant, the food is delicious, and the service is still top-notch. The last time we ate here, we even got dessert on the house. The staff is happy to chat. My parents started coming here in the '90s. When we're in Amsterdam, we often come back. Oh yeah, none of the dishes contain cashews, so I don't have to worry about my allergy! They have an allergens menu, which is something more restaurants should have.

I had lunch here as I wanted Indian for lunch while I was in the city. I was warmly met & the meal was delicious. I was alone but service was great & my meal came out quickly. I eat Indian food a lot & it was good quality & delicious. Next time I'm in Amsterdam I'll definitely come back as the lady was so friendly & hospitable & the food I had was really tasty. The food is fantastic, we travel all the way from The Hague to Kohinoor especially for dinner with the whole family. It's always just a little bit better. And the service is simply outstanding.

Craving for Indian food on a trip to Netherlands and Belgium, we chose this to place to be our memory of the one Indian meal abroad. The staff along with the owner was very warm and hospitable. Service timing was top notch too however, the quality of food as well as quantity felt short of what was expected reading the reviews. The prices would have been justified only if the quality, taste and specially the naan/ bread preparation (which was too thick as compared to its Indian real self) would have been better. Would recommend building upon the strong reviews and better preps by the restro. Also, I am told newer places are serving much better Indian food which matches the pallets of mid age and young travellers. Probably will try one of that next time.

I also finished off with their Indian tea which was very tasty. The owner was soo kind and welcoming. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience and I would recommend this restaurant to everyone who likes great authentic food with the fantastic hospitality. I will be back when I visit Amsterdam again. LOVED this place! Food and service were both spectacular. Ordered the Mahadara special so we could try different things. The Madras soup and the lentils that came with it were exceptional! And we really enjoyed the papardams! But it was ALL very tasty! Had a lovely chat with the owner; what a delightful gentleman! Oh, and I also appreciated the unrushed pace of the meal.

Tuvimos una maravillosa experiencia gastronómica en Kohinoor Indian Restaurant durante nuestra visita a Amsterdam. Convenientemente situado cerca de la Casa de Ana Frank y cerca del centro de la ciudad, es el lugar perfecto para una reconfortante comida india después de un día de exploración. Probamos varios platos vegetarianos, incluidos Dal Makhni, Channa Masala y Paneer, y encontramos que el sabor era realmente delicioso, la comida india más auténtica que tuvimos en Amsterdam. What a lovely place! The setting is such that one feels like he is temporarily transported to India. The food is lovely, and perfectly spiced to deal with both the Indian and western palettes. The staff is very warm, friendly, helpful and prompt, with the owner, Mr Sardool personally supervises and interacts with everyone to ensure a personal touch. We loved the food, but what particularly stood out were the Saag Paneer and the Kulfi.

What a pleasant and friendly place to eat some great food. Munu, our server was wonderful. Portions are generous and authentic. The soups, the kulfi, the tea, and of course the main course was great.
