Butter chicken so fine that the guy next to me started having trouble digesting because they were eating the yummy food so fast. You know that this place deserves 6 stars if that happens.

We received a very friendly welcome. We were asked to wait inside without a reservation. It took a while to get a table, but we were constantly checked on, drinks were served, and we were always informed about the status. The food was fabulous, and the service was very friendly. As an apology for the long wait, we received a glass of wine on the house and a heartfelt apology. Definitely recommended for lovers of Indian cuisine.

Absolutely incredible Indian food topped off with excellent service. This is probably the best Indian meal I've ever had. We were greeted warmly and offered papadams before our meal and tea after on the house. All of the staff were very friendly. High quality curry. Couldn't have been any better.

I had a wonderful experience here! I ordered the chicken wings, Madras soup, and tandoori mix — all were absolutely delicious, and the portions are massive. The servers are friendly, helpful, and very attentive, which really made the meal even better. The atmosphere is warm and unique, with seating areas decorated with profiles of India’s geography — such a thoughtful touch. Just a note: the working hours during summer and pre-fall are a bit different from what’s listed on Google, so it’s good to double-check before visiting. Definitely a must-try spot if you love great Indian food!

In amsterdam after trying all indian rest we went to jordaan area to find good taste . We tried lentil soup, rajma and bhajia those were good taste you can eat for your soul here. They did accomodate for spice level but didnt make specially something on request. Other restaurent doesnt have good taste but they made out of the menu dishes for my baby on request. But I recommend them if you are looking for good indian resaturent in amsterdam. Must try them.

I've eaten at your place three times now! The food is absolutely DELICIOUS, but after using the restroom, you lose your appetite... The restrooms are truly disgusting... I really hope you address this, because that's why I don't even want to come back. Washing your hands isn't an option in such a filthy restroom. Hence the three stars, purely for the restroom!

Service was discriminatory, very rude and unwelcoming. We came during pride but the restaurant was not full to capacity. We had a large table and when one more friend joined, the owner/manager even said he would not feed another person even though we had ordered more than enough to share around. He didn’t even want to give our friend a chair at first. Was shocked that at how poorly we were treated, very disappointing and will not be back.

Great restaurant, the food is delicious, and the service is still top-notch. The last time we ate here, we even got dessert on the house. The staff is happy to chat. My parents started coming here in the '90s. When we're in Amsterdam, we often come back. Oh yeah, none of the dishes contain cashews, so I don't have to worry about my allergy! They have an allergens menu, which is something more restaurants should have.

I had lunch here as I wanted Indian for lunch while I was in the city. I was warmly met & the meal was delicious. I was alone but service was great & my meal came out quickly. I eat Indian food a lot & it was good quality & delicious. Next time I'm in Amsterdam I'll definitely come back as the lady was so friendly & hospitable & the food I had was really tasty. The food is fantastic, we travel all the way from The Hague to Kohinoor especially for dinner with the whole family. It's always just a little bit better. And the service is simply outstanding.

Craving for Indian food on a trip to Netherlands and Belgium, we chose this to place to be our memory of the one Indian meal abroad. The staff along with the owner was very warm and hospitable. Service timing was top notch too however, the quality of food as well as quantity felt short of what was expected reading the reviews. The prices would have been justified only if the quality, taste and specially the naan/ bread preparation (which was too thick as compared to its Indian real self) would have been better. Would recommend building upon the strong reviews and better preps by the restro. Also, I am told newer places are serving much better Indian food which matches the pallets of mid age and young travellers. Probably will try one of that next time.

The food and service were absolutely amazing. We ordered the chicken madras curry and the seekh kebab, which were both so delicious and flavourful. I also finished off with their Indian tea which was very tasty. The owner was soo kind and welcoming. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience and I would recommend this restaurant to everyone who likes great authentic food with the fantastic hospitality. I will be back when I visit Amsterdam again. La sopa de Madrás y las lentejas que vinieron w ITh fueron excepcionales! Y realmente disfrutamos de los papardams! ¡Pero IT fue muy sabroso! Tuvimos una encantadora charla con el propietario; ¡qué caballero encantador! Y también aprecio el ritmo sin prisas de la comida.

LOVED this place! Food and service were both spectacular. Ordered the Mahadara special so we could try different things. The Madras soup and the lentils that came with it were exceptional! And we really enjoyed the papardams! But it was ALL very tasty! Had a lovely chat with the owner; what a delightful gentleman! Oh, and I also appreciated the unrushed pace of the meal.

We stopped by after visiting the Anne Frank House, craving Indian food, and this place absolutely hit the spot! From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive. We were seated quickly, handed menus, and placed our order without any wait. They were great about accommodating food allergies and adjusted the spice levels to our preferences. The food was delicious, and the portions were just right. Four of us shared saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, rice, naan, and roti—it was the perfect amount. The seating was comfortable, and the decor really gave off authentic Indian vibes. Our food came out fast and was served on little heat plates to keep everything warm, which we really appreciated. What a lovely place! The setting is such that one feels like he is temporarily transported to India. The food is lovely, and perfectly spiced to deal with both the Indian and western palettes. The staff is very warm, friendly, helpful and prompt, with the owner, Mr Sardool personally supervises and interacts with everyone to ensure a personal touch. We loved the food, but what particularly stood out were the Saag Paneer and the Kulfi.

What a pleasant and friendly place to eat some great food. Munu, our server was wonderful. Portions are generous and authentic. The soups, the kulfi, the tea, and of course the main course was great.

Estábamos cerca en Ámsterdam (un Museo de Ana Frank en movimiento), y sucedió a través de este maravilloso restaurante. La decoración era precioso clásico indio y nos recibieron como viejos amigos. Pedimos sopa de lentejas, pollo Birriani, Saag Paneer, Chana Masala y Bombay Alloo. El servicio era fuera de este mundo y los platos calientes se servían en los típicos intestinos de metal, pero en platos de metal súper calientes que mantenían la comida caliente durante los 30 minutos que nos llevó terminar nuestra comida. La comida estaba llena de especias sin ser picante, aceitosa o salada. Absolutamente maravilloso. Y gracias al personal que nos hizo caer bienvenidos en su casa.

The best real traditional Indian of Amsterdam, by far!

My wife and I were on vacation in Europe and one of our destinations was Amsterdam. After researching and reading tons of reviews we went to Koh-I-Noor to try out their food. My wife is Indian, so we HAVE to eat Indian food once in a while . We both loved it. We actually went there twice, just to double check it. Good service and a very friendly owner. If you want to eat delicious Indian food in Amsterdam and you are not scared by all the tourists in the inner city, this is your place to go.

El servicio al cliente más amable que he experimentado en toda mi vida! Me sentí como parte de la familia mientras comía aquí y disfruté cada momento. El personal y el propietario eran como ángeles, diseñaron el menú para adaptarse a cada alergia y establecer claramente qué alimentos incluyen diferentes alergias, incluso se esforzaron por hacer de mi tía un aperitivo casero sin gluten! La comida era deliciosa y auténtica, así como un menú muy grande con tantas opciones. Hay imágenes históricas en las paredes, así como una lección de historia sobre la India en el mantel para leer mientras se sienta! Una gran representación de la cocina y la cultura india. The restaurant doesn’t look too impressive, but it’s definitely worth trying. We had a dinner for 2 and it was delicious. The waiter was very nice and helpful. And the food… we loved it. Definitely worth trying if you are around!

I enjoyed the meal. It's the closest I've found in NL to a UK curry house. I had the king prawn dhansak and garlic naan - rice, some salad and a poppadom is included. The curry and rice was just right - lots of flavour and accurate in terms of heat. A medium by UK standards as promised. I was disappointed by the naan bread especially at 5 Euros - it was very dry. The service was friendly and attentive throughout and the atmosphere was informal and buzzy. It's not cheap at 22 to 24 Euro for a meat or fish curry and rice but I'd go back for sure.

The owner Mr Singh is a great person who visited each table personally and made sure their customers are eating well and taken care. Loved their chai and biryanis. I went to Kohinoor Restaurant yesterday for Dinner and ordered Chicken Madrasi(good spicy for spice lovers), chicken biryani and Naan which they served with salad, raita and even gave us papad complimentary. Mr. Singh who is the owner of the restaurant was also serving us and making sure the food reaches on time, is hot and remains hot and that we love the food. It was a very warming experience to have dinner here with a great hospitality which is very rare in Europe. The Indian food is fantastic compared to what you usually get at other places in Europe and it was actually like what we eat in India. Also naans for sooo soft and still soo crispy loved them. If you are around Anne Frank museum or even not, do come to this places to have a hot and hearty meal here.

The location on Rokin used to be my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. Now it has a new management, still OK but more tourist-oriented. I tried this one for the first time yesterday, and I was very happy. The staff is friendly, attentionate and professional. The saag paneer was exquisite. The portions are quite huge :) The menu list is rich and diverse. The atmosphere is nice, quiet and friendly. No loud music, so you can enjoy your meal and the conversation with your friends. The prices are very reasonable, especially for such a location in town.Can definitely recommend it and will certainly come back again soon.

Había notado este lugar antes de nuestro viaje, ya que se encuentra a un par de cuadras de la Casa de Ana Frank. Sólo pude conseguir entradas para la AFH para un 6 : 15 p.m. tour, lo que significa que terminamos alrededor de las 8 p.m. Por lo tanto, esta se convirtió en nuestra opción de cenar tarde ese día. No estaba seguro de lo ocupados que estarían, pero supongo que llegamos lo suficientemente tarde para que tuvieran algunas mesas disponibles. Creo que terminamos con un par de platos de curry vegetarianos y uno que era a base de pollo. También tenemos naan y arroz. Todo estaba bien, y dada la tarde de la cena (para nosotros) , teníamos hambre. Cuando salió la comida, también trajeron un puesto de calentamiento por plato. Esto fue algo nuevo que encontramos en un par de restaurantes en este viaje. Esto es probablemente más relevante en los meses de invierno, pero mantuvo la comida caliente. Probablemente volvería aquí para otra comida si alguna vez vuelvo a Amsterdam.

We just stopped in to get some tea (late 11pm). The owner said they do not serve tea this late but offered us their own tea. I loved the personal touch the warm stories and the classic Punjabi hospitality Touch.

I have eaten at good Indian restaurants in Europe and this is one of the best I have eaten at. Lovely explanation of what to order and how to eat. Warm and welcoming people. Do not be afraid of Indian food - it is simply delicious.
