We sat down here this evening for a drink and possibly a bite to eat. First, we were told in a very unpleasant manner that the kitchen was closed, almost an hour before it was actually supposed to close according to their own information. Subsequently, we were spoken to very negatively, as if we had committed a crime, when we asked about the dining times. After that, they brought the bill, which we had to pay immediately, and basically told us to clear off. Very annoying and extremely customer-unfriendly.

August 2026 After a cycling tour we wanted to have some drinks, as it was very sunny today & we hadn't have drinks with us. We went to the major plaza @the center of Sittard with so many restaurants, bistros & cafes to choose of. We picked Tapas Cantina, as we hadn't yet visited/experienced this one before. Also there was a nice ambiance & soft music playing. Luckily they had a high table & 2 seats available. A lot was already reserved. Our order came quickly & the waiter was very friendly. Although we had to wait for the bill for over 10 min.

Had a great meal, friendly staff; the smashburger tapas was delicious 👌

It states online and on the menu that the kitchen closes at 22:00. We wanted to order something at 21:35, and we were already told that the kitchen had just finished its last rounds and was already closed.

Very expensive for what you get

We had a delicious meal in this atmospheric, beautifully decorated restaurant, where we were served in a friendly manner. Highly recommended!

A quick trip to Spain in Sittard. Yesterday I enjoyed Tapas again. Spontaneous, friendly service from the familiar waiter. If my dog ​​gets his water before I get my wine, you've already earned the 5 stars. I chose something new on the menu; it was described as a healthier version of pizza. It was generously topped with salmon, avocado, herb cheese, tomato, and more. A delicious glass of Pinot Grigio completed my lunch. See you soon!

A cozy restaurant located on the Markt square in Sittard. It's especially festive in November and December for Christmas. The service was flexible (with table seating) and fast. We ordered tuna tataki, Iberico stofado, prawns de las casa, prawns pil pil, and Serrano ham croquettes. All the dishes were delicious, in some cases even better than in Spain.

We went for a bite to eat last night. We ordered a meat and fish platter. The service and atmosphere were adequate. There were a lot of drunk people on the patio, which wasn't great. The food was good, but I got quite sick last night. Stomach cramps, vomiting...

A pleasant spot to relax in the market square in Sittard. I ordered one meat platter and one fish platter. It was well-prepared and delicious. Despite the crowds, we didn't have to wait long for a table for five. They immediately moved tables to make room. The interior is also beautiful, with some period details, such as the well you cross when going to the men's room.

Today, July 29th, we went out for dinner as a couple. We ordered a delicious mixed platter for two, which included fish and meat appetizers. It was quite pricey, but for what you got, it was definitely worth it! Unfortunately, we weren't as hungry as we'd anticipated and hadn't finished a few things. We asked the waiter if we could put the leftovers in containers to take home. He gave us two containers to take home. After leaving, we forgot to actually take the containers home. We were almost out of the market when the waiter came after us to ask if we still wanted to take the containers home. You don't see that kind of service very often! Thank you so much for the excellent service. We will definitely be back!

Even one star is too many for this service. Orders aren't even taken. After waiting for a long time (40 minutes), you apparently can't order anything else to eat. The waitress probably thinks she doesn't work there. Bad, bad, bad!!!! She'll never see us again.

Price and performance disproportionate, the board for 3 people is really minimal with vegetables and meat and fish does not stand out in terms of preparation. The staff is attentive to the busy Alains, but lacks finesse and experience. Atmosphere with chairs and tables too close together and an outside door that often opens for terrace guests who need to go to the toilet is also not very pleasant. And then the toilet is a neglected item in the restaurant. Overall not a place to go back.

We tried Tapas Cantina for coffee and cheese cake and was pleasantly impressed.

Met een grote groep gaan eten. Populaire tent, zelfs het verwarmde terras zat goed vol terwijl het een gure avond was. Bediening is snel en vriendelijk en weet heel goed dat het rendement in de drank omzet zit. Dus de snelheid van drinken was hoog. En dan het eten….tja. (Heel) veel, niet onsmakelijk, maar met echte tapas heeft dit niks te maken. Kwalitatief Uitermate Teleurstellend als je gaat voor echte tapas. Maakt dat je niet veel uit, dan ga je een prima avond hebben.

In short - it was tasty, but the price does not equal the quality/value. Burgers expensive and ordinary. Sweet potatoes are very good. The ginger drink is laughable. Orange juice is a plus. The atmosphere is delicious. The service is okay, although there are a few things that could easily be improved I recommend it, but it's not a place where I would want to come back to eat

Na de fikkse wandeling belandden we op de markt en vonden nog net 10 plaatsen in de schaduw. Pas gezeten of een heuse stoet van carnavaleske toestanden pareerden voor onze neus met aangepaste muziek. Leute te koop. Wij namen drankjes met tapas en grote borrelplank. Erg gezellige maar drukke markt tijdens deze zomerse dag.

Perfect for after work drinks. In their big tapas menu everyone can find something they like. I would really recommend the gambas croquettes! They also have a nice cocktail and wine menu! Would definitely recommend to sit on the nice terrace in the evenings. I am obsessed with the outside tiles.

Still one of our favorite restaurants on the market in Sittard. Food is always of the same good quality. Friendly and helpful staff. Tasty sangria, although I think the second jug tastes better than the first jug.

Good atmosphere and nice people

Dishes too expensive for what you get, which makes you too careful when choosing dishes. The pulp was slimy and almost pudding-like, making it look spoiled. When a dish was omitted from a platter, nothing could be offered as a replacement, which makes it seem as if the restaurant did not take deviating dietary requirements into account. I went home still hungry, despite having to pay 76 euros for 2 people.

I visit Tapas weekly. The food is all equally delicious and the staff is very friendly. Atmosphere is always good.

We were 6 people and reservations were made in the basement. Very nicely decorated and lots of atmosphere. The food was also very tasty. Opted for 2 meat boards and a mix with fish/meat. The food was really good, everything tasted good. Definitely go back again, it's useful to make a reservation 😉

We had some vegetarian tapas. We didn't really think they were that great. The spinach croquettes in particular were mealy and had little taste. The onion rings were decent. The fries were good. But all in all, unfortunately not worth repeating for us.

So what was this to me? Made a reservation 3 days ago, even sent an email 2 days before. When they get there, they say sorry, the kitchen is closed due to a malfunction. We tried to call you, what nonsense, I received no telephone or email, they came all the way from Belgium and there we were. Couldn't get enough of it, didn't have a drink that would have been appropriate. Not next time you will get a discount because you drove for free, what a bad experience that was. Really sad actually.

I have always had good experiences at this restaurant and I really enjoyed visiting the terrace! Until yesterday. A certain waiter made our visit very unpleasant. We were already annoyed by his pushiness, after which he had a conversation with us during the checkout and completely missed the point with his extremely anti-feminist comment (something about whether we as women would rather sit on the couch all our lives and didn't have to work for our money). We recently went out for dinner at Tapas Cantina with a team and we were wonderfully surprised. The food was great and it was nice and busy, as expected on a beautiful summer day. It didn't take long and our food arrived within about 20 minutes, already 2 drinks in. It must be said that there was little space on the tables, which made it all very cramped, even if the food was good. The staff was friendly and came by often enough for extra drinks. All in all definitely worth a visit again.

Very attentive and quick service without being intrusive. Complaints are also dealt with promptly and in a friendly manner. The kitchen is also absolutely perfect. The spare ribs and the seafood salad were really outstanding. It's a shame we're so far away. It could be added to our favorite restaurants. Something like that is definitely missing in my area.

Quick food service. Large menu options. I am staying across the square from this place and it’s always busy. It’s obviously the latest exciting place in town. A lot of younger people here but also old people like me. The ambiance is very cozy inside and out. It’s super busy on a Tuesday night. I’ve only had a few small plates so I look forward to the next visit. The service was very friendly and quick. Pleasant and efficient. Be patient when visiting, you’re in Europe.
