We went in intending to have dinner, sat down, and almost by chance they took our drink order. Almost half an hour later, after exchanging glances with the waiter repeatedly to get his attention, we simply decided to ask for the bill because they weren't paying us any attention. We paid for our drinks and left.

Had a lovely, cozy time on the terrace, great service

We opted for a surprise package featuring a bottle of wine and a very extensive charcuterie board. The quality of the snacks was excellent, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The terrace is a lovely location for relaxing and people-watching. However, what really topped it all off was the pleasant and friendly service. You feel welcome here immediately. In short: highly recommended for anyone who loves good drinks, delicious food, and Sittard hospitality.

Lovely brunch. Delicious dishes, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere, thanks in part to its location right on the market square. Highly recommended.

Regarding the food, good quality but very little to eat for the prices they charge, 5 star service only for the waitress because the owner of the restaurant is ignorant, regarding the drinks, I ordered a 15 year old dimple whiskey and they charged me 20 euros per a glass with 3 centiliters and from that bottle they make 14 measures which is equivalent to €280 in cash, 100 is for taxes and 180 is for them and a bottle costs €50, I asked for a little more and the owner was completely ignorant, no I advise it to anyone.

I can't rate the food because I didn't eat anything here, just sat outside on the terrace. Enjoyed the terrace and the market while enjoying various glasses of beer and wine. Excellent service, fast and friendly. The only downside was that we really had to go home.

Great location and the food was ok, nothing special. Took extremely long for the food to arrive but the customer service was great.

Very friendly welcome. I could choose the place. Advice was given quickly and competently. The food was prepared and served quickly. Perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Ordered three types of sorbet with fresh fruits and a local 'Verdauer' to finish. Price/performance = very good and fair. I'll definitely be here often.

We kwamen op een drukke dag eten, het zat er vol dus we wisten dat het er lang zou gaan duren. Echter 3 uur lter pas hadden we gegeten. Het eten zelf was zeer matig en nogal smakeloos. Verder viel op hoe weinig afstand 1,5 meter eigenlijk is! Sommige tafels stonden echt te dicht op elkaar. Maar vooral de gasten zelf vonden het blijkbaar lastig om discipline te hebben. Het personeel was wel zeer vriendelijk dus dat maakte wel nog iets goed.

Onderdeel van arrangement van Merici, hier twee maal matig 4 gangen diner gegeten. De soep kregen we als tweede gang, opgediend in een kop en schotel alsof t koffie betrof. En bij het hoofdgerecht is de "soep" nogmaals opgediend maar nu wat ingedikt en dan heet het "saus". Terwijl we gewoon betalende gasten waren, is de inhoud van het 4 gangen diner absoluut niet te vergelijken met diners die de andere gasten voorgeschoteld krijgen! Erg karig en simpel. Erg jammer. Verder: van 1,5 meter hebben ze hier nog nooit gehoord! Schandalig. Voorts: een glas wijn voor € 6,50 is wel erg veel geld! Duidelijk waar ze t aan willen verdienen. Van ons zeker geen fooi! Niet voor herhaling vatbaar. Bediening was overigens wel vriendelijk!

Sad new year's eve menu. Meat was cooked way too much, dessert seemed to be served straight from the can. Something also went wrong in the service. Friendly staff and tasty aperitif. All in all not worth the price, a bit of a dampener on our celebration.

We had just a simple lunch on the terrass in little charming Sittard. The square is full of restaurants, cafés and shops. Nothing special with the lunch - just a nice spot in town after walking around quite a lot. Position by the square is excellent.

This restaurant belongs to hotel Merici. The difference between the two is remarkable. While the hotel makes you feel welcome as a guest and fresh products are served at breakfast, neither of these can be found in the restaurant. It can have so much potential if there are servers who are clearly enjoying themselves and who are knowledgeable. In addition, it would save 2 stars if the restaurant served fresh food and not just reheated it. The decor is tasteful and the other guests created a pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant.

Booked a 3-course dinner here via Hotel MERICI. Since the prescribed menu was not quite our first choice, we opted to choose from the menu ourselves. For this, 27.50 pp was deducted from the final total. Great solution. Enjoy sitting on the terrace with a nice glass of wine. The grouse was a bit on the dry side, but the lamb steak is definitely recommended! We wanted fries instead of mashed potatoes, but that was not possible. So we had to order extra fries. But what if that's all? Service was also excellent!

Courses served quickly in the beginning, service asked to postpone something. Eating well. Some things are not entirely to our taste. They do their best to make your stay pleasant, but a little more attention to empty glasses, for example, is certainly welcome....

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere.

We booked a table for a big group with a 3 course dinner. When we arrived there were a lot of tables available outside. As it was nice weather we were keen on dining outside. When asking the staff if it was possible to eat outside instead of at the booked table (inside) they told us only regular guests were allowed to eat outside... This kind of rules aren't very customer friendly. With hindsight, this was just the start of a not so successful evening. The dinner itself was below average at best, whereas the price (about €40,- per person) made you expect something much better. The starter was salmon, which most likely came out of a can, was tasteless and very dry. The main was steak, but part of our party got very bad quality meat. About half of the portion existed out of fat, which in no way could have been overlooked by any kitchen staff. The dessert was a panacotta. Or at leas it should have been a panacotta. By the first bite we got the feeling we were eating whipped butter with some sugar... When telling the staff about the (lack of) quality of the food, all we got was "ooh, okay". That's it. No apologies, nothing. If you are looking for good food and a nice staff, best skip this place especially for the prices they charge you.

Excellent food. Very nice terrace on the Markt in Sittard. Nice service. It's just a pity that the waiters 'fell away' a bit at the end of the evening. Maybe the day was just too long for them.

First-class restaurant, great ambience

Comfortable sofas. Really good to spend few hours in the sun. Waiters friendly but don't always know if you are wanting. Liked it anyway.

The atmosphere is very nice and the food is also tasty, although in small portions. The waiters, on the other hand, have difficulty speaking German and are downright unfriendly. As Germans we were simply treated worse. Half of a meal was simply not brought, even after being informed. When it came to paying and it was pointed out that half was missing, they just apologized briefly and simply let us go. The food was great, the service was flop.
