The quality and service do not match the price.

We arrived on Tuesday at 5:30 PM. It was still empty. We really wanted a table by the window (not necessarily the first row, the row next to it was fine too), but we were simply told 'no'. When we left 2 hours later, there were still 2 empty tables by the window. We will not be returning.

Highly recommended! We enjoyed the variety of food on offer; the service was incredibly friendly, efficient, and helpful. The decor, location (parking, view of Reitdiephaven), and space at the buffets and wok stations are excellent. The meat (Teppanyaki) was delicious!

The location is beautiful, the selection of dishes is varied, and we can choose whatever you want. And it tastes good, too.

So far, I have only been there with colleagues; even so, the concept doesn't really appeal to me. It is also a bit too far from the rest of the city; I prefer eating in the center. The advantage of eating here, however, is that there is something for everyone. For me, there are also some plus points, namely that the draft beer is Hertog Jan. The toilets are also fine, although you do have to go up a flight of stairs to get to them. You also have a beautiful view of the Reitdiephaven; the characteristic colorful houses. But of course, you enjoy that most if you have a table by the window, and not if you are sitting with your back to it.

I just wanted to get this off my chest. We were here two days ago. Unfortunately, at the fish teppanyaki, my daughter wasn't paying attention, so her food was taken by someone else. The owner took over and made a comment that she was asleep, and so was the other person. I consider this pure bullying behavior, and I hear this from others quite often as well. My daughter was completely distraught on the return journey. We won't be coming back here.

That is literally almost impossible, but they succeeded here. The chefs were also grumpy and the meat they prepared was as hard as a brick. The atmosphere itself was fine, but that was the only positive thing. Furthermore, it seemed as if all the staff were grumpy while doing their jobs. No one came across as friendly or enthusiastic. When I left, I also saw something that gave me a completely bad feeling: I think all the leftover food scraps were thrown together in one bin and then put back in the fridge. Of course, I don't know exactly what the procedure is, but as a guest, that looked very unhygienic and unprofessional. All in all, a very disappointing experience and certainly not worth repeating. ⭐☆☆☆☆

All the food was cold, even the fries were inedible, and otherwise it was just a mess with all the food. When I left, I saw that they were just putting old food back in the fridge to use again later. Furthermore, the service was very bad and improper. I will never come here again.

Very disappointing experience at Taste and Flavor. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table in the passageway. Next to our table, the ceiling was leaking, and drops were constantly falling down. When the leak worsened and water started dripping all over the passageway, staff brought a ladder and began performing work over our heads while we were eating. Despite the fact that free tables were available, no one offered to move us to another spot. Additionally, the ice cream in this restaurant is not freely accessible and must be scooped by a staff member. When we went to get ice cream, the staff member was unfriendly and spoke to almost everyone in a very unpleasant manner. There is also a claw machine with stuffed animals in the restaurant. We tried to win a prize, but the claw did not close at all. It only went down and back up without grabbing anything. This feels misleading to customers. Furthermore, the sushi ran out quickly, and it was not replenished during our visit. All in all, this was a very disappointing experience. Poor service, lack of attention to guest comfort, and insufficient maintenance of the facilities. We will not return and unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful location. The food is delicious. Friendly staff. It is just a pity that it is/gets so hot inside when it is also hot outside.

The food tasted good and the atmosphere was pleasant. However, the service left much to be desired. One of the Chinese staff members showed absolutely no respect and spoke very rudely to us. This ruined our evening.

We come here every month because my wife likes it so much here. However, on May 16th, we were very shocked by how the boss reacted towards his staff. You can tell that he comes across as sarcastic and condescending. In other words, he might be a bully, which is not very fitting for his position and age. I have respect for all the staff today who worked very hard; it is certainly not easy, and I can understand that it is stressful. We are definitely going to report this to the Labor Inspectorate; we have strong suspicions of bullying, overtime, and exploitation.

We visited you on September 12th. We noticed that there was very little evidence of the 1-5 meter social distancing policy in your restaurant. We had a reservation for 8:00 PM and were shocked at how busy it was and how close together people were waiting for their food. Fortunately for us, it soon calmed down, otherwise we would have left immediately. Behind us were 10-12 people at a table (clearly not from the same family). They were very boisterous (unfortunately, nothing was said about this) because the beer and spirits were being liberally replenished. Also, clearly not a 1-5 meter social distancing rule. Very dissatisfied There were hairs in the food I won't be going there again

We have always heard good things about this in the past, but were hugely disappointed. We were politely escorted to our table and given a brief tour. We decided to get food for our 1-year-old first. There were at most 10 fries in a container; they looked like they had been sitting there for a while, so we decided to wait for a new portion. Meanwhile, I walked over to the wok section and found raw chicken breast in contact with fish and beef tenderloin. (The containers were filled too high, causing them to touch each other.) I was quite shocked by this, but I walked on to see what we could eat. Food that is ready in containers is lukewarm, so my boyfriend decided to have something wok-cooked. The food simply had no flavor. We tried a few things, but it was tasteless, so we moved on to the desserts. During the entire time we were there, no one came by to clear plates. The restaurant does not look clean. The toilets are far from hygienic. We only had drinks and desserts before deciding to leave early. (An hour later, the same fries were still in the bins.) Upon leaving, we wanted to speak to someone about this dissatisfaction. It is not only disgusting but also dangerous to one's health. The woman who listened to our story told us we could just write an email. What were they going to do with that? Well, nothing. Eventually, we went to McDonald's. Had a better meal there than there. Extremely expensive prices for this experience? They should be ashamed.

What a fantastic place! As far as I'm concerned, one of the best wok spots in Groningen. The combination of the huge selection of dishes, the high quality, and the welcoming service makes dining here a real treat every time. I will definitely be back. 5 stars!

Delicious meat from the grill and BBQ, the buffet was also excellent, many options

We have been coming here since day one; it remains one of the better all-you-can-eat restaurants in the city of Groningen.

Overall, we had a nice evening, but the quality of the meat really could be better. Some cuts of meat just stick to your serving spoon straight from the tray, and there are a few grumpy people behind the griddle. Pffff. At least the people behind the bar and at the counter were friendly.

For an all you can eat restaurant it’s pretty good! Food service is fast, staff is (semi) helpful and friendly. Not the place for a romantic dinner because of the big groups, kids and overall not too romantic atmosphere - but a great place to eat with a group that likes eastern food.

A fantastic all-you-can-eat concept with truly excellent quality. The food is fresh, delicious, and regularly replenished. There's a wide selection, so there's something for everyone. A particularly nice touch: the dishes aren't just sloppily presented, but rather attractively arranged and well-seasoned. Important: Arrive no later than 7 p.m., otherwise it gets crowded and you'll have to wait. The service was friendly and attentive. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. If you're hungry, this is definitely the place for you.

Dramatic, the food was anything but tasty. The white rice and the nasi ham were both made with sushi rice; it was very sticky and watery. The meat from both the wok and the grill tasted like leftover meat, and at the grill, I was in line and ordered a steak. Finally, after a long wait, I looked around and there was nothing left. Someone had my steak on their plate; they don't remember whose! The people preparing the food were grumpy and unfriendly.

Well, an all-you-can-eat. It's still basically what you don't want. But if you do want one, choose this one. For what it is, I don't think it gets much better.

Restaurant or warehouse? Many products are no longer fresh, entire cartons of chocolate milk and Fristi are on the table. Cutlery isn't clean enough.

I was expecting something different from what we saw and ate. It really is a large, cozy space with many different dining options. The food was well prepared and tasty, and the drinks were also well taken care of. However, I would have preferred to see the shark smoked on the barbecue rather than on the griddle. The wok is fine, though I missed the black pepper sauce. But there really is a lot on offer, the staff is friendly, and the time you agree upon is immediately noted on a kind of welcome card. We were there on a weekday, and it works fine without a reservation, but booking in advance can certainly prevent disappointment. The view of the harbor is beautiful, but even without that, it is a lovely location. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this place. Desserts and sweets are available in many varieties. Prices in this type of restaurant are never cheap, but the amount of food and drink available justifies the price; you will easily need two hours! If you go, enjoy your meal; I can recommend it!

Very busy, everything took a very long time, it was expensive, and for people with allergies there wasn't much to eat compared to other all-you-can-eat places.

We had a lovely outing with a wide selection of food. The atmosphere was great and the service was friendly. The decor is cozy, and we'll definitely go back.

It's perfectly fine for this type of restaurant. Plenty of space, plenty of options. Great with kids, but don't expect top-notch food.

A nice Christmas meal, as we come here often. But once we started eating, we discovered that many things were cold and uncovered, including the ice cream buffet, which had an illogical layout and was frustrating. What really took it out of hand was the children putting their hands in everything and putting them back, especially at fish dishes. Furthermore, the hygiene in the restroom was poor. That for €57.50.

Kids love sushi, from dragon rolls and salmon rolls to flamed nigiri. Unfortunately, they weren't refilled. You can definitely tell the difference in craftsmanship between this sushi and the rest, which is a bit odd. We also enjoyed delicious food from the grill and buffet:) Definitely recommended! Child-friendly.

The price-quality ratio is poor. The food was cold even though we had a reservation for 5:00 PM. We always enjoyed our meals, but things are deteriorating rapidly.

Went for dinner yesterday, and unfortunately, my ribeye was raw from the BBQ. I also noticed that the buffet wasn't replenished properly. The wok chef speaks in an aggressive tone if you don't hear him clearly the first or second time. The sauce was also way too watery.

Had a nice evening with the four of us for 3 hours from 7 to 10, but everything kept running out and after 8:30 nothing was refilled anymore and you have to ask for something, and if you want grilled meat cooked a bit longer you can forget it, he just serves the meat and doesn't listen to you either the sweet snacks weren't refilled too, a shame, the food was otherwise fine.

We used to enjoy coming here, but this was truly below par. The quality of the food has deteriorated significantly, while prices have risen sharply. The man behind the grill was grumpy and unfriendly: he snatched my plate out of my hands, avoided eye contact, and deliberately made me wait while others were allowed to go first. The meat I eventually received was so raw that it almost ran off my plate. On top of that, there was a foul sewer smell throughout the entire restaurant (and we weren't even sitting near the restroom), and the lamps were so dusty that dust drifted down onto your food. The buffet was already half empty by seven-thirty and was barely refilled. In short, filthy, uninviting, and severely overpriced. This was definitely the last time. There are plenty of all-you-can-eat restaurants where you can actually eat well and decently.

It is actually just a little too big, and certainly when it’s busy, it feels a bit too massive for my liking to still feel cozy. The food, on the other hand, is fine. The selection is huge, and whether you go for the hot plate, the grill, or the wok, it is always prepared with care, even when it’s busy. And then there are also pizza, fries, or pancakes/poffertjes and the like, along with decent ice cream, various pastries, and even candy, so the younger kids are well catered for as well.

Something for everyone, the food was great again.. Good food and drinks for the price, including ice cream etc. (except for alcoholic drinks). 👌 I prefer the fish section, shrimp, mussels etc.

Where shall I begin…. The meat they fry is very raw, the meat is always purple, and the zebra didn't jump away yet. Otherwise, the service is top-notch. Despite his tics and autism, the bartender poured well. The atmosphere was okay, but for me, it fizzled out because a member of staff let out a bizarre burp.

A great experience for lovers of diverse food! The restaurant offers an impressive range of dishes from all over the world, perfectly prepared and full of flavour. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it ideal for a night out with friends or family. The only downside is the price, which is on the high side. Although the quality and variety of the food partly makes up for this, a slightly more friendly fare would make it perfect. All in all, highly recommended for those who enjoy culinary diversity and are looking for a nice ambiance!

Looks nice and neat inside, everything is very clean. Lots of choice of food and drinks and staff are also very nice and helpful.

Last weekend I was persuaded to eat at this establishment. The food in the 'containers' is regularly cold, if there is anything in it at all. So we decided to focus mainly on the grill. You can serve your own meat. The nice thing about this concept is that, because of the large numbers that go on the grill at the same time, you never know what you will ultimately be served! That element was refreshing. My compliments to the man at the pizza oven. This person is extremely friendly and makes delicious pizzas. Tip: When booking, ask for an extra table for the empty bottles/glasses. These were not collected once during the 2 hours. Don't forget to check out! Apparently you have to hand in your ticket when leaving the restaurant. Finally, we thought it was very nice that you are also welcome here in training pants and a football shirt. Ultimately our own problem, but in a normal shirt and jeans we felt a bit 'overdressed'..

Extremely bad experience. When we arrived at 7 p.m. there was an empty pan of soup, thick baguettes cut into pieces and it was a mess. The lettuce was gone, the mozzarella was yellow, carpaccio was gone, sushi was gone. Then straight off the plate... the tenderloin was so tough that we left it alone, but the fish was fine. Several people were approached about everything that was gone and would always be refilled, but this was not the case. Unfortunately, no one could help us properly. A disappointment on my son's birthday.

Excellent and varied range of food and drinks. There is a lot of tidying up in between and the waiting times are not too bad. We arrived on a warm day and it was just as warm inside, which was a downside.

Dry sushi, only 3 types, no choice, everything is always gone, dry tasteless steak, dry tenderloin, dry fries (yes, a lot of dry ones) 300 students who fill themselves up for a few bucks, and then keep bumping into you, very hot inside, paths too tight, too many people near the baking trays, making it impossible to get through. This was the last time for this year. We will look again in 2025, I would go to Drachten if you want good food.

What an unpleasant food shed with an elevator that a third world country would be ashamed of. The Peking duck in the photo on the site seemed delicious to me. It turned out to be (really) an indefinable poultry fried into pieces with an axe, of which you have to eat dirty brown pieces of meat with your hands between the bone splinters. No crispy skin. Ugh, gross! Meat and fish on the griddles was good. Ice cream for dessert, ordinary ice cream and not the promised delicious Italian ice cream. Reported: 1 of the 4 people had difficulty walking and needed space to stand up. Offered was one of the closely spaced tables in the sweat room (where air conditioning had apparently never been heard of), or a table at a distance that was not walkable at the end of the restaurant. In short, a huge letdown and never, ever go to this place again!

Niet normaal hoe warm het daar was vandaag. We hadden voor 2 uur betaald maar zijn na een uur weg gegaan. Je eetlust verdwijnt gewoon door die hitte. We hoorden meer mensen er over klagen en zagen veel rode hoofden. Bij het weggaan gevraagd waarom het zo warm was. Volgens hun konden zij er niets aandoen. Hun airco kon de hoeveelheid mensen niet aan en alle bakplaten stonden aan. Nou, volgens mij kunnen ze er wel wat aandoen. Nieuwe airco misschien. Ik denk dat we volgende keer eten en co gaan proberen.

Great to eat there food is good you can help yourself as much as you want

Since corona I ate at taste and flavor again. After reading the bad reviews, I was a bit skeptical, but we had good experiences. The food was hot and replenished. The girl who took the plates away was very friendly. I did have the impression that it was a little less busy. Of course, the price has also increased considerably. The dessert buffet was slightly less extensive than three years ago, but still sufficient choice. I don't understand those negative reviews.

This is my favorite all you can eat restaurant! The food is delicious, the toilets are clean and you can also sit outside with a fantastic view 👍

Food very bad. a chef who thinks it's funny to shout and then bullies you into cooking 1 piece of meat is unbelievable. We have eaten at better restaurants in Groningen. The intention was to just relax and go out for dinner on a Sunday. It didn't work out. The staff don't click with each other. You have to pay in advance because they know how lousy their place is, yuck.

First time and the last time, the restaurant was nice in itself, but the chefs are just dirty, unfriendly and arrogant, you ask them to cook well and then they don't even respond. I advise people to take an Asian language book with them because they look at you as if you am an attraction

We had a delicious meal here again tonight. Lots of choice and good quality! For example, the many types of salmon, eel, herring, shrimp and oysters are really delicious! Too bad they don't have air conditioning. This time (30/7/2024) it was quite warm inside...

Had a great experience when they started. But now a few years later... You shouldn't expect a star restaurant at an all you can eat, but unfortunately it was just bad. The toilet was filthy. The sushi was tough and dry, the prepared food was all way too dry and tasted "old", the vegetables all over-cooked. The wok and tepan were still ok.. but unfortunately not worth 102,- for 2 people and a child. Unfortunately this is the last time I've been here.

The grilled mushrooms are delicious, and the hot dishes are very good but a bit salty. I like the fact that the drinks are free. The waiters are pretty nice. You cannot make an appointment with one person, but you can walk in and it costs about 38 euros on weekdays.

I have eaten in several world restaurants that offer a wide range of dishes known and loved worldwide. Compared to these restaurants, the selection at Taste and Flavor is very limited. Therefore it doesn't deserve the name 'world restaurant'. The staff could also have been friendlier. In short, that was my first and last visit to this restaurant.

We wanted to go out for dinner because of my girlfriend's birthday. The choice quickly fell on Taste and Flavor because it is 1 street away from us. We had never been there before and are normally not fans of an all you can eat concept, but now we thought with our stomachs because we felt like stuffing ourselves with delicious food. The area around the restaurant is particularly beautiful. The atmosphere is very mediocre in the restaurant, we noticed that the people working there did not interact with each other which made it seem like they were not having a good time. The staff works extremely hard +1. The food was so bizarrely bad, quantity over quality. PLEASE don't go here! I don't think people who are positive about this have many demands regarding food. There are very long lines and the food is not fresh (vegetables are). Greetings Tim

Extensive top food and a fantastic view!

On June 12 we went out for dinner at Taste and Flavor, we had made a reservation for half past six because we had read online that after 7 hours less is made and the quality drops. That was indeed true, certain dishes were simplified, things were only refilled when the last one was finished and you could really taste that some things had been on the warming plate for hours. The sushi was really inedible, very dry and it was clear that it was not freshly made. For the desserts and pastries, especially the brownie and the pancakes, the same problem, extremely dry and not fresh. If you want a pancake, you should only take a freshly made one and not from the warming container. It was also noticeable that the coffee maker is not cleaned often, I found the coffee undrinkable. The meat is also mediocre and mainly annoying that it is all so salty and there is so much sauce on it. Compliments for the vegetables, lots of vegetarian options and deliciously fresh. In short, it's definitely not worth the money. :(

The famous all-in restaurant on the Reitdiep. We were a family of 4, we made reservations, but it was not very busy. I think 50 percent. Many well-known options such as stir-fry and tepenjaki. Exotic options such as shark and kangaroo were also available at the time. The food was prepared perfectly, so very good. There was also a large play castle where all the children could have fun. Food factory, little attention to food, long lines, I understand that it takes 2.5 hours to eat. And the food was so/so. The taffeta are crammed so close together that many of the fat people who eat there cannot extend their chairs. That was entertainment.

This is a shame, previously a top restaurant with excellent food and good service, there is little left of it: the quality of the food has deteriorated by leaps and bounds. Service also poor: it takes a long time for the table to be cleared. Meat is tough and has little flavor. Everything also looks sloppy and messy. Everything is in need of a major overhaul. Too bad, faded glory, I don't know what's going on with this, this doesn't bode well for the future. We won't be coming back here for a while, and we used to come here regularly

Food was good, but the atmosphere was unpleasant, impersonal, loud, No service, only clearing the table with metal clearing racks. A bit of a canteen atmosphere. Lift has been broken for a few days, difficult to walk with a walker.

On Sunday May 12, Mother's Day, we went out for dinner with a group of 7 people. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. The food left a lot to be desired: The quality of the meat was terribly poor. The hot dishes did not appear to have been prepared on the same day. The sushi ran out quickly and was not refilled. "No problem," we thought, "because they weren't tasty anyway." In general, the quality offered does not justify the price of 42.50 euros to eat there. There are better restaurants in Groningen that serve higher quality dishes. Although I had not been there for about two years, I am now certain that this was my last visit. When I have a craving for sushi again and want better food, I will go to Yasumi Sushi & Grill near the fish market.

In one word, terrible. Really terrible. Nothing excepted. Even the desserts were inedible. Nothing is fresh.Yuck. For the same money you can eat in so many places where the food is good. I wouldn't come back here for free.

Food display is messy, dirty and few fresh products. It looks like everything is almost gone and they are about to close. The empty plates are left on the table too long. Not a nice staff, uninterested and grumpy. Too expensive. Tasty oysters. Delicious prawns and scallops from the grill. It's striking how many people walk alone with plates of fries and frikadellen. Tip: downstairs there is a cafeteria, much cheaper.

Very good Restaurant, the Boss and their employees very friendly. And the food is represent the name of the place. Taste & Flavour is highly recommended.

April 11, 2024. The food was very disappointing. The BBQ meat all got the same sauce, so it all tastes the same. Meat from the grill was still too raw. After stir-frying, the taste/sauce became as thick as jelly, so it was not tasty. The drink is like making lemonade, not original. Not recommended for us.
