We had a great meal here together. The terrace is a bit narrow, but the food is definitely recommended. Additionally, it is very nice that smoking is allowed on the terrace. Definitely recommended.

It is just the same as all other all-you-can-eat sushi/Japanese places, but more expensive and with only Dutch staff. You also only have 1.5 hours to order food, so you really have to rush.

After the first round of food, we left. The food was absolutely not fresh. The ginger and the wasabi were not fresh either. Too bad.

The place is okay, the sushi is good but nothing special. Unfortunately they put fried onions on all the meat, the dessert is not the best either. It is very dark, and I do not recommend sitting downstairs because it smells like pee

After a bad first review, we had a good experience at Tatsu 2. I received a separate grill plate this time, so they could cook everything thoroughly for me (being pregnant). The Virgin Pornstar Martinis are also very tasty, and the Deluxe is definitely recommended! A positive turn of events for us!

We eat here regularly and enjoy ourselves. Our children, aged 5 and 10, even ask every week when we are going to eat sushi again! 😊 It is a beautiful restaurant with nice background music, friendly service, and: a wide selection of all the delicious dishes (and desserts)! I recommend making a reservation, as that guarantees you a table. We will be back soon!

Delicious dishes and fast orders...

This experience, unfortunately, hasn't left me easily, and not in a good way. We were looking forward to an "all you can eat" sushi evening. Instead, we were seated in a rather dark, very loud, and chaotic restaurant. The server rushed through how to order electronically using a tablet. Then she disappeared. In the end, we were presented with a grand total of eight sushi pieces for €45 per person, presented as "all you can eat." The plates were placed on the table as we sprinted past and then gathered up again as we ate. I don't know if they were in a hurry and simply wanted/needed to fill each table multiple times per evening. It definitely had the feel of a cafeteria. Everything was thrown together in a rush. The cocktails were bad, and the sushi was just mediocre. This place was incredibly disappointing. My absolute recommendation: Go right next door to "Toujours." It's leagues better!

We normally eat here often in the past, but I am very disappointed with the food. The taste and quality have really deteriorated; it is not what it used to be. My husband got really sick from the food that same day, and it was noticeable. It's a shame, but I wouldn't go there again.

The food was delicious, the appetizers were wonderfully finished with tasty sauces. Happy with the deluxe version, the flamed salmon for example was very tasty. We ate there on July 17th with my husband, whose birthday it was. It smelled terrible outside; it turned out later that our table was sitting right on a sewer manhole cover. The staff seem like robots; everything is set down in silence and cleared away again in silence. It's a real shame because this was a special birthday! The food was tasty, though, but we will never be coming back here.

We ate outside there yesterday in honor of my husband's birthday. There was a terrible sewer smell; it turned out later that our table was positioned right on top of a manhole cover. I’m still amazed at how smoothly the service runs. Even though the meat dishes weren’t really to my taste, the sushi and seafood were absolutely outstanding. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and the overall experience was excellent.

We always enjoyed coming here; delicious sushi and beautiful decor. Unfortunately, the last time we were here, there was a major technical issue that caused all sorts of things to go wrong with the food. As compensation, we were promised a 20% discount the next time we visited. We left our name and email address for this. When I recently tried to make a reservation for this, I was brushed off on the phone. Apparently, they knew nothing about it. If I wanted to do something about it, I could email the address provided. So I did. But unfortunately, my email is simply not being answered. We find this incredibly disappointing, because we always enjoyed coming here to eat. The service has been a major letdown.

Lunch is 29.50 euros for adults, and the value for money is incredible. You can order up to 4 items per person every 6 minutes and dine for 2 hours. The fried dishes are delicious, and the sushi is pretty decent for the price. If a place like this were in my neighborhood, I would definitely go there often. This was our second visit; our first experience wasn't good, so we thought the second time would be better. Well, no. Every time, we have hassle regarding the table we are seated at. During our first visit, we were seated at a bar table where it is so unpleasant to eat or sit, and I was even pregnant and pointed this out. During our second visit, they wanted to seat us all the way in the back, where you sit at a table with wooden chairs while we have a one-year-old with us. It is truly dramatically bad. You wait way too long for your food; it really takes an eternity. When we order, a few items do arrive, while others only arrive in the next round, and the sushi even falls apart. Definitely not worth repeating; what a shame!

find it unreasonable that this restaurant requires customers to order drinks. I come here to enjoy a meal and pay for the food I order. Buying a drink should be my choice, not an obligation. Over two years ago, my daughter and I dined here while she was recovering from a cold and had brought her own ginger, lemon, and honey drink. Staff came to our table and insisted that we order one of their beverages. To avoid an argument, I ordered a drink. Recently, when I returned, the staff again approached my table and demanded that we order drinks. They even stated that if we consumed our own beverages, they would charge us for them. Apparently, they had remembered me from that incident years ago. What makes this especially frustrating is that during the past two years, we have regularly ordered drinks whenever we dined here. Customers are already paying for their meals. Forcing them to purchase drinks they do not want or need is poor customer service and leaves a very negative impression.

It' s my favourite Sushi place. I go there at least once a month (last time was Saturday the 20th June). I don't mind to travel to Haarlem (but if you ever open a restaurant in Amsterdam, do please let me know 😍😋🤤🤤🤤😋) With a few euro kore you can enjoy a Deluxe menu and have some delicious sashimi or other particular and amazing dishes. The waiters and waitresses are all super kind and nice.

The food was very tasty, but due to the smell outside (overflowing bins with garbage bags that had been boiling in the hot weather), our appetite disappeared every time. Also, a tent further down was playing extremely loud music, forcing us to speak a bit louder to understand each other. With each round, either a number of items were forgotten or we were given a dish we hadn't ordered, meaning we didn't always get what we asked for. The food arrived very quickly, something we are not used to from all-you-can-eat restaurants. A major plus point of the service was that I didn't like my cocktail and returned it (it was entirely my fault, the cocktail in question was perfect), and to my surprise, I didn't have to pay for it!

I went on a weekday in June 2026. It's a 2-hour all-you-can-eat buffet for €38.50 (standard all-you-can-eat) or €46.50 (deluxe menu also available). The rice portions aren't excessive, they're a normal size. It's great that they serve it one piece at a time. Not bad for a Dutch place (lol). The Japanese tea is roasted green tea, not green tea. The wasabi is the cheap kind that dissolves easily in soy sauce. The ordering system is on a screen and service is incredibly fast, but there's a limit to how many you can order at once, and you have to wait 6 minutes before you can order again. It might be tastier than most all-you-can-eat places in Japan (lol). The matcha ice cream doesn't taste like matcha at all, and the jasmine or some other artificial flavoring is so strong it's shocking, so I don't recommend it!!! (LOL)

First time at Tatsu with the whole family. Placing orders was super easy, the service was also top-notch, and the food was super tasty. The only downside is that as a vegetarian, I would like to see a few more veggie sushi options.

The quality of the food has really deteriorated. Many hot dishes arrived cold or lukewarm; even fried dishes were lukewarm. Drinks did arrive quickly, though. But there were also dishes we ordered that simply didn't arrive at all. Too bad, no Tatsu for the time being.

The best Japanese restaurant in town, had an amazing dining experience; great atmosphere, friendly staff, and DELICIOUS food. We did the premium all you can eat option, and the specialty rolls alone was worth the upgrade. Highly reccomended! I will be back 💪

Great place for an all-you-can-eat lunch or dinner. The sushi isn't great, but the other food is quite good. The sushi is pre-rolled, and you can taste the difference. The sushi isn't always neatly cut and presented. Personally, I find it a shame that sauce is put on almost all the sushi. The cocktails are always good, though. And the service is quick and usually friendly.

Fantastic food, dishes go out minutes after ordering and an exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend.

We have been coming here for a number of years; since it became Tatsu, it really improved. The quality was much better and the staff were nice. Unfortunately, the last two times were really not good. The food was much less tasty and of a different quality than we are used to at Tatsu. My wife is pregnant, so we had reserved a table with a sofa; in the end, we had to sit on chairs, which caused her a lot of discomfort in her stomach. After 20 minutes, a table became available for the rest of the evening, but we weren't allowed to sit there because they had to transfer the tablet. All in all, we didn't have a nice evening. I am also seriously considering going here again because it just doesn't appeal to me anymore.

I'm from Northern Germany and this was my second time here, as we were on holiday. I really like the concept of ordering food on a tablet. It's delivered very quickly, and you can try everything, which I think is great, especially with children. We ordered the things we liked again. It's an all-you-can-eat sushi/tapas restaurant. The food is delicious, and the selection is fantastic. So definitely give it a try!

I don't consider myself a whiner or a nitpicker, but unfortunately, this was really disappointing. Mushrooms undercooked, mustard sauce with fried chicken, beef rolls undercooked and stringy, and fried bananas made from regular bananas. It was really disappointing, unfortunately. The service was quick and very friendly.

Yesterday, 05-04-2026, I went to eat at Tatsu again and once again left the place with great joy. I visit Tatsu on average once a month. For an AYCE concept, I genuinely consider this the best sushi place in the Netherlands, and believe me, I’ve been through quite a few of them. The deluxe menu is a truly brilliant move, and the sushi rolls with the angel hair and pink sauce are absolute favorites. I hope to be able to continue eating my sushi here for many more years.

What a great experience again at Tatsu 1 in Haarlem! We come here often, and every time we are surprised all over again by the quality. The food is truly delicious: everything is freshly prepared, whether you go for sushi or hot dishes; you can simply taste that the cooking is done with care and attention. What makes this place extra special is the service. The staff is friendly, hospitable, and always alert without being intrusive. You feel truly welcome here, and they are very helpful if you have questions or want something special. Everything runs smoothly and professionally, allowing you to truly relax and enjoy your evening. There was a minor issue this time, but it was resolved really excellently and quickly by Ming Hua. That shows how seriously they treat their guests and service here. Big compliments for that! In short: top-quality food, excellent service, and a nice atmosphere. We will definitely keep coming back here. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderfully delicious meal. However, some items were served twice. Or a small dish we had ordered in round 1 arrived around round 3.

Unfortunately, we have recently noticed that the experience at Tatsu Sushi Haarlem is no longer the same as it used to be. We always enjoyed coming here, but both the taste of the food and the service have clearly changed. The dishes no longer feel worth the price. There have been adjustments to the menu, but these do not always seem to be an improvement in terms of taste. For example, it would be nice if there were more alternatives for people who do not eat fish, such as extra chicken dishes. Additionally, it is noticeable that the staff comes across as very rushed and tired due to the busyness. As a result, it is difficult to experience good service, even though they are doing their best. The space often feels crowded and stuffy, which, combined with time pressure, makes it difficult to truly relax and enjoy your meal. We know that this place has a lot of potential, which is why we are sharing this feedback in the hope that improvements will be made. With a few adjustments, it can become a pleasant and beloved place again.

This is the second time we've been to Tatsu's restaurant; this time we visited the one in Harlem. I must confess I liked the first one better. The food quality wasn't nearly as good, and we left a little disappointed. As for the service, I rate it much better than at the first Tatsu; the staff are very friendly.

The ambiance made our lunch feel more like a small occasion than just a casual weekday meal. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the opportunity to share and sample a variety of dishes together. The format allows you to explore different flavors at your own rhythm, which makes the meal both fun and satisfying. Overall, it was an unexpectedly refined and pleasant lunch experience. The food was delicious. But the ordering process was terrible. The dishes were wrong, and because the staff wasn't in the mood for it today and quickly left, we couldn't comment. The only minor point that could be improved is a coat hook in the ladies' restroom. But that's a minor point. It was great.

From top-notch to disappointing: drastic decline in quality and service As a former chef and long-time regular customer (both business and personal), I've unfortunately seen this restaurant decline significantly. Where I used to always leave satisfied, it has now fallen to the level of a soulless junk food shack. A few things that are now consistently wrong: Food quality: The food no longer seems homemade. The sushi, once beautifully presented, now looks and tastes like ready-made supermarket sushi. Dishes like the spicy soy beans are so overloaded with greasy sauce that you need a stack of napkins to clean your hands. Disturbing meat preparation: Meat dishes are consistently the first to be "forgotten." When they finally arrive, they are cold and downright raw inside. I left the raw meat cut open on the table; the staff ignored it for three rounds and finally took it away without a word. Inconsistent service: While one server might politely make eye contact and say "enjoy your meal," another would slam the plate down disinterestedly without a word. Complaint handling: When paying, they automatically asked if I enjoyed my meal. When I honestly said no, they immediately blamed me: I should have said it sooner, so they could have "heated the meat up a bit." In short: pay and leave. Conclusion: Not heard, not seen, and not understood. This was my last visit. They've lost a loyal customer for good.

The sushi was delicious! I enjoyed the nigiri and the other sushi. 🍣🍱 However, I found a few meat dishes quite dry and would have benefited from a different sauce! Like the rack of lamb and the beef rolls. The desserts were delicious! Other than that, the service was friendly and fast!

The food was delicious, the service was good. We were seated alone near the restrooms, kitchen, and bar, so it was very busy with people walking by. Otherwise, a super cozy restaurant!

Overall, the food was good for an all-you-can-eat meal. You can also order more luxurious dishes for a one-time additional fee. The first round came quickly and tasted great. From the second round onward, the flavor diminished, and several dishes were left untouched. The drinks are very good, and the cocktails have the right ingredients.

It's not cheap, but it's delicious. Reservations are essential, as it's always very busy from Thursday to Sunday. You can eat plenty in two hours, as there are plenty of staff serving.

Very fast and high-quality. For the Netherlands, this is a wonderful place. You don't have to deal with surly waiters. But you have to make sure everything you ordered is brought, because sometimes they forget. One time, they didn't bring the food until after we'd paid and were about to leave. But that's okay. I'll definitely come back; it's delicious and cozy.

I have to say I was very surprised in a bad way. There were two of us, we ordered 2 bottles of Coke and 2 glasses of water. Then we asked for 2 more glasses of water and they refused... Only after we bought another bottle of drink, they agree to bring us one glass of water per bottle. Isn't that crazy? In my opinion, very poor service.

I've always been here, but I won't be back because of a very disappointing experience. The staff comes every minute to take the plates. A friend of ours had just started a lamb chop, and the sauce was already being removed. The first time we laughed it off, but it happened four or five times. The reservation started at 8:00 PM for two hours, and at 9:30 PM the staff came to announce the last round. At 9:35 PM, you're already being forced to leave. The staff took the menu and soy sauce from the table and kept asking if they could take the plates away. A terrible experience.

Had a delicious meal, had taken all you can eat, but we didn't know that we had to pay extra for sashimi and dessert. The waiter had to clearly explain to us that some dishes had to be paid extra. We thought yes all you can eat, but not really, so that's a shame.

On Saturday, November 8th, at 4:00 PM, I ate at Tatsu 1 in Haarlem. I unfortunately have to write a bad review. The first round of ordering went wrong, as dishes didn't arrive after a 20-minute wait. The next round, even in that round, things went wrong, and some dishes didn't arrive. This continued throughout the entire dinner. I also ordered drinks, which also didn't arrive! However, the receipt was brought with an incorrect bill because it included drinks that never arrived. Very poor, for the price they charge, they need to provide better service! I won't be back. P.S. Perhaps hire more staff if the pressure is too much!

I made a reservation here yesterday, but unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to postpone it. Without consulting us, they gave us a table outside, even though it was 8°C and the patio heaters left much to be desired. The only option the restaurant offered us was to wait over an hour for a table to become available, while the overpriced parking meter in Haarlem kept running. It wasn't possible to start outside and go in later because "the system wouldn't allow it." As if your system were my problem! Tatsu didn't even offer an apology or a small compensation. That could have made up for a lot, but according to them, it was just the system, and they assumed we had made our reservation outside. For context: we only received confirmation that we would be seated outside when we were already on our way—without our coats—because we were supposed to park around the corner and walk straight in. Although the food was excellent, the service was very disappointing. I therefore expect this review to be taken seriously, otherwise I will choose a different restaurant next time, and I advise you, the reader of this review, to do the same.

Great place for all in sushi. Drinks are not inclusive so keep in mind that you pay for every drink. Toilets are on the first floor so this tatsu is not a right fit for people with bad legs or other disabilities. Better then to got tatsu 2.

My favorite sushi restaurant. I can't even count on two hands how many times I've been here. It feels like a busy Saturday night every night, because there are always people there to enjoy their delicious sushi. Besides a wide variety of sushi dishes, they also have grilled dishes that even the littlest ones can enjoy. When I have friends visiting from far away, I love taking them to Tatsu to sample the most delicious sushi!

The best all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant I've been to, fresh and delicious fish. The fish and meat nigiri was excellent, salmon and tuna sashimi were very good. The rolls were less good for our taste. Good price per person 48 euros for the whole menu and the waitress was sweet Recommend😊

Maybe we were just unlucky today; that can happen, of course. Unfortunately, the sushi itself was truly disappointing. If you enjoy traditional Japanese dishes, even when preparing them, this doesn't make sense. As mentioned, it could be a coincidence, as I'm seeing a lot of positive reviews. Let's hope so.
