It's always so much fun here! On absolutely all fronts! The staff is always friendly and perfectly coordinated, unique to see. This way they communicate with few words and speak softly. The organization is perfect. They have an open kitchen with great chefs. The food is delicious! The menu changes regularly and the classics remain. The Chateaubriand is delicious. Dover sole and delicious asparagus are available when the season permits. Here you can also sit at the bar and feast your eyes on the decoration (especially the moving train). The prices are very good for what you get, I recommend it to everyone. We like to come there at least once a month.

On holiday in Weert with family and decided to eat here. What a good decision! Highly recommended, very friendly staff. There was a new waitress who was learning and did her best, if she ever got stuck on a question, someone was immediately there to assist her, great. I ordered the chicken cocktail as a starter and had no idea what to expect. How delicious it was, definitely recommended! My wife had Parma ham with melon and it looked fantastic, large portions (all starters) and also very tasty apparently because the wooden board was barely licked 😁. My son took the American appetizers and I can say he was very happy with his starter. After starters like this, you can't go wrong. My son and I went for the schnitzel which was indeed tasty, the mushroom sauce was served next to the schnitzel which indeed prevented the schnitzel from becoming soggy (perhaps based on an older review from someone who gave that as a tip? In that case it appears that they are open to constructive criticism, very good). My wife had the oriental vegetable dish and it was boring, but it was also delicious. The desserts (dame blanch and vanilla ice cream with farm boys) were also great. This was the long review, in short: if you want good food you should definitely visit here! And although it is a little more than an hour's drive for us, I still plan to make a special trip here with friends.

Cozy tavern with a nice authentic character. Looks a lot like a German Stube with solid oak furnishings. The menu looked really good. We didn't eat anything ourselves, but the plates that were brought out were all generously filled with goodies. Next time we are in Weert, we will stop by for dinner.

Delicious lunch in a nice historic atmosphere!

Appearance of a cozy old brown pub. The mussels with white wine and the crispy fries were delicious. The snails prepared in herb butter were a bit too greasy for me. Surf and turf carpaccio was very tasty and the chocolate soufle with ice cream and whipped cream to finish was great.

Good menu, tasty food. Everything freshly prepared and not from a Unilever package or bag. I was with a group of 11 people and had carpaccio and a steak. Asked for medium plus. He also came as a medium plus! Add lettuce, fries and vegetables and pommes duchesse. Also a nice desert. Completely finished. I recommend this restaurant and will come back when I'm in the area. De oude munt is een oud pand dat ingepast is in een winkelcentrum. Het is sfeervol ingericht en je zit er ruim. De bediening is vriendelijk en de keuze is groot; je kunt zowel van de lunch- als de dinerkaart kiezen. Wij kozen sliptong en kalkoenfilet van de dinerkaart, beide gerechten smaakten goed. Als bijlage kreeg je friet, sla en spitskool. De prijzen zijn zeker niet te hoog.

The beef is so good! We've ordered chateaubriand for two, it was just perfect! Great service for kids!- if the plate is clean there's a surprise, 3(!) Lollypops and an ice cream! Waitresses were super simpatic and great music! ( Kate Bush and similar stuff) I recommend this place fully!

Met ons gezin heerlijk gegeten bij Taverne de oude munt. Kipcocktail was erg lekker, goede portie. Chateaubriand was heerlijk, goed van smaak met veel groenten, salade, frietjes en pommes duchettes. Mooie zaak met goede en vriendelijke bediening.

In der Einkaufspassage gut integriert. Tolles Ambiente, guter Service, gute Karte. Beim nächsten Besuch im Januar in Weert, kommen wir wieder.

Beautiful old building! We had planned to eat there but when we got an arrogant waitress we decided to leave. What was even more disappointing was that after we told her our opinion she became even more arrogant an the manager saw we were not happy but did nothing! People without manners, rude!

I have been going out to eat with a group of friends several times a year for more than 30 years, just to catch up. We know each other from pregnancy gym, unfortunately 1 friend has passed away, but with the 3 of us we keep the tradition alive. Yesterday we went to Taverne de Oude Munt in Weert, forced to go on Monday, when many catering establishments are closed, but they were open. I was the first on site and was assigned a table in a place where there was a huge draught. When I asked if there was any air conditioning blowing, or something like that, it turned out that: “no, the doors and windows are all open,” I was told quite harshly. When one of my friends who had now arrived asked if one window could be closed, it was closed a little, but not closed. Something went wrong when placing the order. One of the friends and I are not big eaters. We felt like having onion soup and thought we could share a skewer with quite a lot of meat on it afterwards. When we passed this on to the waitress, she looked at us very strangely and said “that's not possible here”. Why don't I say that?!? I actually do this more often! The answer was, no, we have never experienced that here and she said "I find that very strange". I say I only order the onion soup and my girlfriend the skewer. Done in no time, but everything else that was placed on our table was almost thrown on it, without a single kind word. Then at 9.15 pm we received the request: can you go and pay, because we are going to close soon. While the opening hours indicate that they are open until 10:30 PM on Mondays. There was no nice chat so we had to move. The bill came. To our surprise it stated: Couvert € 2. When we asked for an explanation, we were told that this was because of the “empty plate” that had been placed at my friend's house. Because yes, that had to be washed as well as her knife and fork. The three of us looked at each other, I said to the waitress: you can't really mean this, can you? “Yes, if you don't order anything you pay for it!” We were really dumbfounded. I say to the waitress: I don't think this is hospitable and very customer friendly. The waitress says again: yes, you can find that, but you have to pay for it. And she looked at me very cheekily. Then I got angry, my girlfriend too. I said: I really don't think this is possible and besides, your colleague should have said that when we ordered it. Moreover, your colleague also said that she thought it was strange of us. You don't have to find anything, this is just brutal. This is really the last time we come here! The waitress looked at us pityingly and said nothing more. We paid and left. What rudeness and customer unfriendliness. I often share dishes in a restaurant and have never experienced such treatment. AFTERBRANDER: Taverne de Oude Munt ordered me to remove this negative review and also wrote that people are being filmed or photographed because "there are camera images." Quote.

Ik ga al meer dan 30 jaar met n groepje vriendinnen paar keer per jaar uit eten, gezellig bijkletsen. Wij kennen elkaar van zwangerschapsgym, helaas is 1 vriendin overleden, maar met zijn 3-tjes houden we de traditie in ere. Onlangs gingen wij naar Taverne de Oude Munt in Weert, noodgedwongen op maandag, dan is veel horeca gesloten maar zij waren wel geopend. Ik was als eerste ter plekke en kreeg een tafel aangewezen op ‘n plek waar het enorme tochtte. Toen ik vroeg of er soms een airco stond te loeien oid bleek dat : “ nee hoor de deuren en ramen staan gewoon allen open “ kreeg ik tamelijk bits te horen. Toen 1 van mijn inmiddels gearriveerde vriendinnen vroeg of misschien 1 raam dicht kon werd deze een klein stukje dichtgedaan, maar niet gesloten. Bij het doorgeven van de bestelling liep het verder mis. 1 van de vriendinnen en ikzelf zijn géén grote eters. We hadden wel zin in uiensoep en bedachten dat we daarna dan een spies, waar best royaal vlees op zit, konden delen. Toen we dit doorgaven aan de serveerster keek ze ons heel vreemd aan en zei “dat kan hier niet” . Ik zeg hoezo dat dan niet ?!? Ik doe dit echt wel vaker ! Kreeg als antwoord, nee dat hebben we hier nog nooit meegemaakt en ze zei “ik vind dat heel raar “. Ik zeg dan bestel ik alleen de uiensoep en mijn vriendin de spies. Zo gedaan, maar alles wat verder op onze tafel werd gezet werd er bijna opgegooid, zonder ook maar één vriendelijk woord. Toen kregen we om 21.15 uur het verzoek : kunt u gaan afrekenen, want wij gaan zo sluiten. Terwijl de openingstijden aangeven dat zij op maandag tot 22.30 uur zijn geopend. Niks geen gezellig bijkletsen dus wij moesten moven. De rekening kwam. Tot onze verbazing stond daarop vermeld : Couvert € 2 . Toen we om uitleg vroegen, kregen we te horen dat dit was om het “lege bord” dat bij mijn vriendin was neergezet. Want ja dat moest toch ook worden afgewassen en ook haar mes en vork. Wij 3-tjes keken elkaar aan, ik zeg tegen de serveerster : dit meen je toch niet echt hé . “Jawel hoor, als u niks bestelt betaalt u dat !” Wij waren echt met stomheid geslagen. Ik zeg tegen de serveerster : Ik vind dit niet gastvrij en heel klantvriendelijk. Zegt die serveerster weer : ja dat kunt u wel vinden maar dit moet betaald worden. En ze keek me heel brutaal aan. Toen werd ik boos, mijn vriendin ook. Ik heb gezegd : ik vind dit écht niet kunnen en bovendien, dan had jouw collega dat moeten zeggen toen we dat bestelden. Bovendien zei jouw collega ook nog dat ze het maar raar vond van ons. Jullie hoeven niks te vinden, dit is gewoon brutaal. Dit is echt de laatste keer dat wij hier komen ! De serveerster keek ons meewarig aan en zei niks meer. We hebben betaald en zijn vertrokken. Wat een brutaliteit en klantonvriendelijkheid. Ik deel vaker gerechtjes in een restaurant en heb dit gedrag echt nog nooit meegemaakt.

My first visit ...I was visiting my friends in Weert and they suggested we should have dinner here. The food was perfect. The toilet were clean. Its very "hyggeligt" here as we say in Danish ☺️🇩🇰. I would love to come here again.

Taverne De Oude Munt is a household name for the average Weert resident. While the building was used centuries ago for minting coins, De Oude Munt has been known for years for its delicious gastronomy. June 23, 2023 will go down for me as the day that I enjoyed one of the tastiest meals ever at the Tavern. As a main course I had the beef tenderloin satay, with a delicious slightly sweet satay sauce, mixed vegetables, atjar and crispy, perfectly cooked fries. The meat of the tenderloin was wonderfully tender. Then enjoyed dessert, chocolate soufflé. There was a wide choice of delicacies on the dessert list, but the soufflé stood out by far. The intense chocolate aroma of the warm cake, together with the bittersweet taste of the soft filling, compliments incredibly with the fresh and sweet scoop of white chocolate ice cream and the dollop of whipped cream on the side. As a whole a paradise for taste lovers. Added to that the extremely friendly service by Danique, this rounds off the ultimate meal perfectly. Thanks for this experience. We will come back with pleasure!

It's been a long time since I had such an excellent meal. Very friendly staff and a surprising taste sensation. We happened to stop by while passing through, but we will probably visit again from South Limburg.

We both ate a fish stew. Very tasty, but it is recommended to take bread with spread beforehand, because it takes a while before the main course is ready, but that is logical given the nature of the dish.

Food receives fewer stars because white sandwiches are served during lunch without asking. Both at twelve o'clock and at the bouncer. I really don't think it's tasty and it's no longer possible in this day and age when everything should be healthy and conscious. Besides that, the quality is not excellent but can rather be called 'ordinary'.

Had a lovely lunch with the ladies. Only we were in a place where the door opens every time, very cold. The only downside I think is that it is not really cozy to sit in, I think it could be a bit more atmospheric, but that is personal. Everything else is great. Next time we will come for high tea.

One of the oldest restaurants from Weert. Situated in a historic building in the middle of Weert. They have a good kitchen with a nice variety of foods, beers, wine or a special coffee. During the mussel season try a "mosselpannetje". You will love it...Or try a chateaubriand, if you like meat. But also vegan food is served. Make reservations on forehand because it can be busy.

I don't often give a five, but if I could I would even give it a 6 😁 Polite, attentive service, good food, cozy seating, ...

Coziness inside... warm atmosphere.. Tavern appearance... small terrace (+/- 13 tables) in the shopping street. We (3 people) had Chateubriand (for 2 people) and a fish pot.... it was really delicious! Operation as it should be. Neat and friendly. Price was oo k ok (average).

What a nice place! What delicious food. Cozy and cozy. Nice staff. You get 5 stars from us, but you could go even further with the dessert. The ice cream was really delicious and so was the whipped cream, but three different desserts that all looked the same. There is a distinction to be made. We'll come back when we're in the area to see if you've done anything with it😉
