Good place for breakfast. Unlimited bread, just cut it yourself. Unfortunately, there was a pungent smoke odor that also made our clothes stink after the visit, which was a shame.

Had a delicious lunch here recently! We ordered the mustard soup and the stew, both very tasty and you can really taste that it is all fresh and home-made. I also ate delicious bread; Lots of choice of small rolls and you could also cut your own bread from large loaves (corn, spelled, whole wheat, white, multigrain, etc.) The coffee was of high quality, all in all a great place!

Very limited cheese fondue, where is some salad or entourage. Stew okay, but nothing special. I would say one up

What an asset to Groningen! That apple pie is fantastic and (very important) the Chocomel is really Chocomel. Out of the pack and no powders!

The coffee is sublime! And the concept where you can choose your own bread is great fun! We chose the cheese fondue and it was also very tasty.

Partner and I had breakfast here. Enjoyed it a lot. The complete breakfast menu is great, and the spicy tuna salad tasted delicious. Their USP is their top quality bread; there’s a choice of 10 different sorts which you can cut yourself with no limitations. Hygiene is on point and they don’t burn the oat cappuccino’s :)

After today, the Bakkerscafe in Groningen will be our favorite place for a delicious breakfast! The freshly baked pastries and coffee are simply irresistible. This is definitely the place for a relaxing start to the day. The cozy atmosphere and luxurious appearance and the tasty food really make it a top destination for breakfast! 🥐☕️✨ You will see me and my husband here more often!

Nice spot for breakfast or lunch! Delicious fresh bread and toppings. Soft scrambled eggs and salmon instead of cheese or ham were also available for a small additional charge. Nice concept that you can cut your own bread (unlimited) and there is also a lot of choice, such as spelt, multigrain, whole wheat, corn, but also hard rolls and raisin rolls. Croissant was a bit too greasy for our taste and a spoon with the jam and container for the waste/eggshells would have been useful. Otherwise great! Prices are also very good for what you get. Staff friendly and coffee was very tasty!

Nice cafe. Very nice service. I was there for breakfast on a Sunday. I ordered the standard breakfast with Ontbijtdeal for €15.50 (with cappuccino, orange juice and bread you can cut yourself from around 12 different types of bread). Very tasty!!!

It took some time to find the bakery café. The bakery is open from 9:00 am. Good start to the day. Delicious fresh products. Map is not too big. More than enough choice of breads.

I ordered luxe ontbijt and it is okay. The bacons on top of the scramble eggs are super salty. The shop allows you to choose and cut your own bread, a fun concept, but you have no idea how many people have touched those breads already. Also, at the bread corner there is no label; if you don't know about bread, you wouldn't even know what you have chosen other than it being white or brown.

I had a soup and spent some time chilling there until I had a coffee and a slice of apple pie before leaving. Everything was very good and the portions were generous, especially the slice of pie that was huge. Prices were fair and service was good, warm and kind. Also, they have a wall of bread loafs that you can just walk up to and cut slices from to make your own bread basket, and all the breads were tasty and nice too. Definitely recommend it

Sunday morning, a quarter past 9. Deliciously spoiled with a chosen basic breakfast, consisting of croissant, boiled egg, ham, cheese and jam. With...as much bread as you can eat. Nice and warm and freshly baked. You can cut the sandwiches as thick as you want. And in a large basket you can also choose from all kinds of tasty sandwiches. And the coffee was also delicious. You sign that separately.

We will definitely come here again. Delicious food and I think it's a great concept. Slice your own bread and you can take unlimited food. Also honey for tea, not standard but ask if you want it. Much less is thrown away and you can get what you want.

Super tasty food! We were received very friendly, pleasant atmosphere. Delicious freshly baked bread, you can eat unlimited amounts of this. All dishes are home-made; We had the filet americain and the chicken curry, highly recommended! We will definitely come back!

Had a nice meal with my two sons. The youngest ordered the children's menu but did not finish it. There were bread bags and stickers next to the bread, so we put half a croissant and half a roll in it. At the checkout I was told by a very unfriendly gentleman, also the cook, that it was not allowed. I indicated that it was from my 6 year old son. No, he is not allowed to sell bread. When asked why the bags were there, he stated for his own use... his tone was very strange and unkind. I'm still amazed and I don't understand why, there is also the option for tasks away. In addition, I also did not find him friendly to his employees. So even though the food is delicious, the atmosphere and entrance are far below standard. I just felt accused of theft!

An indispensable concept for a city like Groningen! Been several times, both with colleagues and with my family. By far the best breakfast and lunch place in the center of Groningen. The menu is diverse, the food is fresh and tasty and the service/atmosphere is smooth, cozy and friendly. Actually accessible for every occasion!

We hebben hier een luxe ontbijt gegeten. Goed verzorgd met vers brood. Scrambled eggs heel goed bereid, vers geperst sinaasappelsap en hete koffie. Aanrader!

Leuk cafétje voor een uitstekend ontbijt en lunch. Je kan zelf je brood snijden, interieur is mooi ingericht. We werden openhartig ontvangen. Zeker de moeite waard om langs te gaan!

Ik ben meerdere keren bij het bakkerscafe geweest en ik ben super tevreden. Ze hebben elke dag vers brood. Je kunt zelf je brood snijden en het is ook hygiënisch, er zitten zakken om de broden en er staat een flesje met hand gel om je handen te kunnen schoonmaken. Verder hele lekkere gerechtjes te bestellen, voor bij je brood. Over all, super tevreden

Aardig concept, waar je je eigen brood mag snijden (hoeveelheid en dikte bepaal je dus zelf). Je kunt je ook afvragen hoe lang iets er ligt en hoeveel mensen er voor jou al aan hebben gezeten. 😉 Personeel echter totaal niet alert. Ook als je al een kwartier je eten op hebt en nog langer je koffie komt men niet vragen naar een nieuw drankje of de tafel afruimen.

Great breakfast, great coffee. You can choose from a variety of selfmade breads and breakfast comes with a bread flatrate. Nice ambiente with 80ies music. And fair prices. The cookie that came with the cookie was amazing. Homemade as well. We had the standard ontbijt with juicy ham and fresh salad to make yummy sandwiches. Absolutely recommendable place!

Goed gebak, heerlijke verse soep met brood en vriendelijke bediening!

Uitstekende plek voor een goede kop koffie met een vers gebakje. De aardbeienschelpen worden zelfs direct voor je klaargemaakt. Verser kan niet…!

Je kunt hier heerlijk eten! Het zelf kiezen (en snijden) van je brood vind ik een leuk concept. Kan het zeker iedereen aanraden, kies dan vooral voor het luxe ontbijt (tot 12:00)

Wij hebben hier geluncht. Alles is afkomstig uit eigen keuken. Het brood was heerlijk knapperig vers. Samen met mijn dochter kozen wij voor de kaasfondue. Leuk geserveerd. Personeel is vriendelijk en vlot. Voor ons echt een plek om een volgende keer weer heen te gaan 🙂

Vriendelijk personeel, heerlijk ontbijt en een leuk concept. Wat wil je nog meer?

We kregen de tip op de nabij gelegen camping om vooral naar Harry te gaan. Die suggestie bleek waardevol. Ruim terras, bruin café met ruime bar en eenvoudig meubilair. In de aangelegen zaal een wat chiquere inrichting en zitcomfort. Eten en drinken: het complete cafetaria assortiment en daarnaast schotels en specialiteiten. Afhalen en bezorgen is mogelijk. We maakten in het merendeel gebruik van de dagmenu's tegen een aanvaardbare prijs. Te weten: karbonade met uienringen en champignons en tonijnsteak met saus. Ruim portie! Daarbij was de keuze uit frites of gebakken aardappeltjes en keuze uit 2 groentes of rauwkost. De laatste bleek ook een ruim portie diverse slasoorten én rauwkost. Dan even mijn favoriete stokpaardje berijden in mijn restaurant-reviews: de frites, patat zo u wilt. Té vaak gesneden van te kleine piepers met als gevolg veel te veel kleine gebogen partjes die vaak te veel doorbakken zijn. Zo niet bij dit Eetcafe! Lange goudgele "staven". Complimenten. Die komen ook toe aan het vriendelijk personeel. Neemt alle tijd voor de gasten.

Leuke plek om even een kop koffie te drinken, vriendelijke bediening, ziet er verzorgd uit en ook leuk dat je kan zien hoe je broodje bereid wordt.

One of the main things I missed in this country is proper bread, the selection is amazing and its unlimited with topping dishes!!! The price is honestly amazing for how central it is and its one of the only places open for breakfast early on the weekends. Honestly an amazing experience, would recommend to anybody looking for a great breakfast/lunch with a delicious coffee 10/10.

During our stay, we decided to go to this cafe to have breakfast, we opted for the luxe ontbijt, however it did not live up to our expectations, a menu came but little variety and portions, the bread is freshly made, the price is 9.95 per person excluding the cappucciono, for this very reason our disappointment in relation to the menu, since being a menu, everything should be included. The staff didn't show great friendliness either, however the restaurant is welcoming.

Erstklassiges Frühstück (hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!) in gemütlichem Ambiente und mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Das hauseigene Brot - es gibt mehrere Sorten zur Auswahl und man schneidet es sich selbst ab :) - ist überwältigend. Bei meinem Luxe Ontbijt war ein Croissant dabei, das ich wegen des unglaublich leckeren Brotes nicht mehr geschafft habe.

Absolut empfehlenswert, gerne wieder. Super leckeres Brot, empfehle auch das Luxe Ontbijt. Wirklich freundliches Personal.

Überragendes Frühstück! Für 9,95€ des Luxus Frühstück ist mehr als den Preis wert. Eine große Auswahl an frischem Brot zum selbst bedienen. Ich habe hohe Ansprüche an Brot um es alles gut zu bezeichnen: hier war ich begeistert!

Leuk en gezellig onderkomen met fijne bediening, je kunt zelf je brood snijden, leuk.

Heel lekker ontbeten!!! Brood kan je onbeperkt pakken. Als je bestelt, maakt de kok vers eten voor je! Beter dan in een hotel! En de koekjes bij de koffie, echt super lekker!! Echt een aanrader!!! Het aardige personeel is een mooie aanvulling op deze eetgelegenheid! Wij komen zeker terug
