The service is terrible, slow and rude, worst. We wait to be seated but there were tables available.

Spent about €20 per pax. Food is ok. 3/4 cup of GreenTea at the price of €3.70 and not allowed to refilled with hot water (my first ever experience) which I considered is rather expensive.

Honestly, didn’t care for the food here. I thought it was bland.

Quiet expensive for pretty basic food, cannot swap any item & cannot split bill , overall felt quiet strict/ limited regulations. Staff are avoidant taking orders. Had to get own menu & wasn’t seen to for long time

The space and the staff are very nice, but I didn’t enjoy the food. The coffee and avocado toast were tasteless, so I wouldn’t recommend especially because they are not cheap

Excellent breakfast! We ordered the avocado toast and the French toast, everything was very good, but for me the best thing was definitely the coffee they use. I ordered a flat white and I loved it. I'll be going every day while I'm here on vacation 😂

The food was lovely, however it was a 30 min wait and the portions were smaller then I expected for the price overall it was a nice experience.

Food looked better than it tasted. We took egg Benedikt and they were very cold, especially the muffin underneath them. We told a waitress about it and she said it’s supposed to be like that. Sorry, in no way the bread is supposed to taste like it just came out of fridge. Nice ambience of the cafe thought.

Small terrace behind Sloterdijk Station, friendly and fast service, and an extensive menu. Three fried eggs on delicious bread with a mini salad for €10? Great price in such a cozy spot! 🍳☀️

Worst club sandwich ever. Avoid.

I got the chicken burger with fries and it was good. The chicken is Moreno like a giant chicken nugget, not much chicken texture. Its sauced a little heavily so its on the saltier side. Fries were good.

Well, I guess the menu is not what I prefer and what I'm used but that's how its done in Amsterdam. As a South African, breakfast options on our menu has wider variety with less sweet and mostly savoury... With that said, my food was ok and quite filling as rhe bread were thick slices. Not a fan of crisps being on a breakfast menu but its my preference and im sure most who live there prefer it. I like the place itself, cozy, warm and its a great location for a bit before hoping on a train, tram or bus

Worst customer service experience. There was no one waiting outside, nor was there a queue to get in, so I went upstairs to the terrace. I waited 20 minutes and asked a worker for help; he said a waiter would come he was the only kind person. Then I asked a second worker, who spoke broken English with a heavy Greek accent, and he told me to get out because there was a line. He accused me of skipping the line and started arguing with me in Greek, speaking to other workers as if he were the manager. His nickname is Nick. He didn’t provide any details on where to complain and demanded that the worker who was apologizing to me stop, saying it was his fault for telling me someone would come upstairs to serve me. He spoke to this worker in a typical racist, authoritarian manner, saying, “You go inside now,” and was preventing mixed-race and Black colleagues from apologizing. He claimed he was in charge, yet never gave his real name or position. I felt like I was in a refugee camp in Greece, begging for food, while witnessing this man act like a racist officer toward colleagues who were trying to be kind.

We went to this restaurant near the station and it was a great choice. Everything we ordered was delicious. We went really early and didn't have to wait or stand in line to get a table.

I had the London breakfast: Toast not fresh, sausage kept warm, mushrooms overcooked and tasteless, baked beans tasteless and hadn't been touched. Not worth the money.

Nachos were awful, hardly any toppings, so dry. Probably worst nachos ive ever had and the chairs were super uncomfortable

Overall loved it - waitresses were super friendly , food was delicious - fully recommend the avocado toast. Only thing was it was very popular so quite busy

All staff should be fired immediately ordered coffee they bring me coffee in paper cup. I asked for pancakes with nutella and nuts she told me it’s not possible and that I can choose from the toppings below (ketchup and bacon were 2 of the many topping choices btw) I asked her to put fruit on it she says it’s not possible because it’s not a topping… but pancakes with fruit and nutella as topping was possible… she didnmt even mention to do it like that until I told her. very very dumb people working there

A great place to hangout or wait for your train. The food is amazing and there can be no complaints. Same goes for the coffee, it is always up to par.

I've been here a couple times before. Nice atmosphere and the food & coffee was good. So when I brought my family here (wife and 2 small children) I was looking forward to showing it to them. The place was very busy so we waited...and waited and waited. The staff saw us then basically avoided all eye contact with us until after 10 mins when we decided to leave. Understand it was busy but the staff could have just said, "Hey guys, we are really busy at the moment, it will be (x) minutes until we have a table" or some kind of acknowledgment rather then completely ignoring us. It was very rude and the worst kind of customer service

Coffee came cold and wasn’t oat milk as requested, had a small allergic reaction. Order wasn’t correct extra egg came on the wrong dish with bacon that was requested to be removed. Just shows a lack of due diligence to allergies and attention to detail Atmosphere was nice, good location and reasonably priced

On my visits to Amsterdam, I always go there for breakfast after a night out dancing. Plenty of options, very friendly and efficient staff.

We found a hair in our plate. And today the staff is terrible and unfriendly, not smiling. We wanted to come back and give it a second chance, assuming the hair in our food was a mistake, but it turned out it wasn't. The staff greeted us very poorly, saying there were no seats available, even though there were. They told us to wait outside, although why? There were seats, after all.

This is impossible, the service is terrible.

The service was very indifferent. The restroom was disgusting, and the chairs were incredibly uncomfortable. I ordered a salad that cost me €12.50 and was the most unappetizing salad ever. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

pancakes were amazing but they served tea in a glass? and didnt give any milk for the tea staff seemed like they didnt wanna be there at all not that friendly

The food wasn't that good for the money I spent here and on top of that if you have your meal inside and want to go outside for a cigarette you don't have an ashtray where you can finish your coffee after your meal in peace and they didn't even have to give me €5 just to tip them 🙃

You can book online but the restaurant are adamant you can't, I showed a reservation and still wasn't believed. We were seated but only because they had a free table. The coffee is good and the food is good. The food came out quickly, we didn't have our drinks till half way through the meal. Service was nice, the girl who served us was polite. Okay food, average experience.

I strongly advise against this. The staff were disinterested. I wanted to use the restroom, but both were extremely dirty. I reported this to the staff. "Yes, we know this, but I'm out of my shift?" Should I go to the next one, just to be polite? They shrugged. It's a disgrace. The coffee was already there, I paid for it and left it. Never again.

High hopes for this lovely little cafe next to the train station. Very busy as it was F1 weekend, but no excuse for a "London breakfast" with cold beans, cold mushrooms, and cold "fried tomatoes" that had obviously been taken out of the fridge and missed the microwave ! Having said that, my son enjoyed his buttermilk pancakes and the breakfast tea was made with fresh leaves, not a bag :-). They did refund the breakfast when I raised concerns, but it really shouldn't happen in the first place.

Very long waiting, other ppl just went in and sit down without reservation and they told us to wait even tho we were befor them there?! Can not recommend to go here with celiac disease, and the glutenfree bread was also quite meh. Expect long waiting times, also just for the receipt. Maybe unlucky Day for us, but as today experience i would not visit again :/

We waited 15 minutes for a table in the sunlight, and then 15 minutes for service. We ordered an English breakfast, and it came completely cold. The table next to us also returned two plates because they were cold. Not recommended.

The food came out before the drinks. When we received the food, 3/4 of the breakfasts were cold. We politely asked for the food to be warmed up. Before taking it away, the lady put her fingers all over the tomato’s to check to see what temperature it was. When it came back, the sausage had a lovely black hair on it, and the plate was hot. The microwave clearly didn’t work well, as the beans were still cold. Also, The orange juice tasted like banana and the caramel latte For what you pay, a maccies breakfast would be better

The food is average, the service is weak, there are too many people

Our order was taken quickly and the food arrived not long after. Only complaint was we asked for no tomatoes but they put them on the plate and when they realised their mistake simply scraped them off. I hate tomatoes, I hate the smell of them.

My wife and kids and I had just arrived in the country. Hungry and wet. We were made to stand outside the restaurant with 20 empty seats. After 20 mins of being ignored I asked to a seat as I didn't know the customs. The server snapped at me told me to get out and told his manager we were rude. I suffer from anxiety and this is our first holiday overseas. This place has ruined it for me. (Might have been my pro Palestine t shirt)

Good food, great location, and pleasant atmosphere. The location on the edge of the train station is very nice because no hectic customers spoil the ambiance. The service was stressed and it showed. Hence, one star deduction. Pictured is the super delicious Krispy Kreme waffle: A delight.

The best pancakes I've eaten in Amsterdam 👌

I was in Sloterdijk when we were immediately struck by this elegant black building. The name, The Breakfast Club, made it clear right away that it was the perfect place for breakfast. We arrived about fifteen minutes before opening time. Still, what I believe was the owner welcomed us warmly, let us sit down, and even served us coffee. The kitchen opened just a few minutes later, and we were able to order some truly delicious food. It was a wonderful experience, the perfect way to start the day on a high note.

The atmosphere at the establishment is excellent, with a vibrant crowd and a well-situated location that adds to its appeal. While the service was friendly, there was a noticeable delay in receiving my drinks, likely due to how busy it was at the time. The staff appears to be a diverse team, which is commendable, although it may have contributed to occasional communication issues as I observed some incorrect orders being delivered to nearby tables. Nonetheless, the staff were courteous and professional throughout. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. I ordered the English breakfast, which did not meet expectations. Serving it with brown bread, barely any mushrooms, and very small tomatoes detracted significantly from the experience. This version of an English breakfast falls short of the standard and, in my opinion, should not be marketed as such. While I appreciate the overall environment and service, I will opt for a different dish on my next visit.

For our trip to Amsterdam, we decided to have brunch at this restaurant, which has something for everyone's taste. The service was impeccable, and the waiters were attentive to our needs. Excellent location, 100% recommended.

After an endless meeting at the station, we were absolutely starving and stumbled upon The Breakfast Club. We decided to give it a try. I have to admit, the wait to get seated was a bit long, around 15 minutes, but once we were shown to a table on the terrace, the atmosphere improved instantly. There was a lovely breeze, the staff were very friendly, and overall they made us feel welcome. As for the food... let’s just say it was decent, nothing extraordinary, but it did the job.

We were on vacation in Amsterdam. On August 7th, we went out for breakfast. The day before, while passing through Sloterdijk Station, we had noticed The Breakfast Club, so we decided to try it. This turned out to be a bad idea. The staff was terrible — unfriendly, rude, and completely lacking in basic hospitality. None of them smiled, and the food was below average and absolutely not worth the price. Food hygiene was a disgusting disaster, and the bathrooms were filthy as well. The details: You have to wait outside to be seated, just standing there with no acknowledgment or greeting. We waited for a while until we were finally seated —not too long, but still unpleasant. We chose our meals and placed our order with the unfriendly waitress with curly brown hair (#1). After taking the order, she ordered us to return the menu cards to the stand. Not a polite request—just an outright command. No “please,” nothing. We waited quite a while for our food. It appeared that parts of it had been sitting on the bar with other orders. One of the staff members — a woman with glasses and hideous animal-print pants (#2) —was standing over the plates singing, with her mouth right above the food. Absolutely disgusting. Eventually, she picked up a club sandwich and two other plates (which appeared to be ours), came to our table, and asked if the sandwich was ours. We truthfully said no. She then brought the plates to the table next to us. The guests there were completely confused, as the food clearly wasn’t what they had ordered. After some discussion among themselves, they told the waitress (#2) the food wasn't theirs. She then went to waitress #1, who told her it was our food. At that point, #2 falsely claimed we had said the food wasn't ours — which was untrue. She had only asked about the sandwich, not the other items. Then they tried to bring those same plates back to us — the ones that had already been placed on someone else’s table. We refused and insisted on freshly prepared food. We did not want food that had been touched, breathed on, or mistakenly served elsewhere. After some back and forth, they finally took the plates behind the bar — but we’re pretty sure they didn’t throw them away. My wife had to get up and go over to ensure that fresh food was being made. She stood there and watched because we genuinely believed they were going to serve us those same plates again. When we finally received our food, it was disappointing. - My daughter’s avocado toast didn’t taste right. - My wife’s and son’s pancakes were flavorless. - I nearly broke a tooth because my Breakfast Summer Salad contained multiple pieces of walnut shell. After we had finished, waitress #1 asked if everything was okay. I told her about the walnut shells. She took the plate and walked over to waitress #2, who then burst out laughing. I assume waitress #1 made a face or a comment suggesting we were just difficult customers. The best part of our visit was leaving. Never again. Avoid this place!

It was very crowded, but the wait was short: in about 10 minutes we were seated upstairs. We were welcomed by a lovely girl who spoke Italian and was extremely kind and helpful. The pancakes were exactly as I had imagined delicious! We left with the regret of having discovered this place only on the last day of our trip.

DO NOT GO HERE. DREADFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! Even though the place was only half full, waited 10 minutes for a table. Gave waiter our order whilst sitting down. Waited 20 minutes whilst watching later arrivals be served...asked waiter whats going on only to be told to give her a moment...she then came back asking what we'd like to order....we did not hang around. Total waste of half an hour...They were not busy, perhaps spaced out(?) DO NOT GO HERE!

The matcha wasn’t good unfortunately. Quite bitter and tasted burnt. Not worth 6€.

If you're looking for something atmospheric, don't choose this place. And definitely don't sit inside. I had a homemade iced tea, which tasted like watered-down lemonade. The food is fine, though.

We had high hopes for The Breakfast Club, but this was one of the most frustrating dining experiences we’ve had in Amsterdam. We sat for 15 minutes.. not a single staff member greeted us, made eye contact, or acknowledged we even existed. Meanwhile, a group of 8 who came in after us got served almost immediately. We twice went up to ask if we could order and were still completely ignored. No explanation, no apology, just sheer indifference. It honestly felt like we were invisible. To make matters worse, we later read that someone else had the exact same experience on the same day. That’s not a coincidence — that’s a management issue. To the management: it’s time to take a serious look at who you’re hiring and how your staff are trained. Breakfast shouldn’t feel like begging for attention. There are plenty of other places in Amsterdam that actually want their customers there. We walked out, and we won’t be back.

The restaurant is next to the station and the food is good

Visited on a Friday around 2’o clock. It was not busy at all and plenty of workers on the floor. They gestured I could come in and sit wherever I wanted without moving from the bar because they were too busy chatting with each other. Once I sat down it took them almost 15 minutes to give me a menu because my table did not have one. Once I was ready to order they ignored me TWO times just to serve a bigger table that sat down ten minutes after me. People that worked there were very rude and lack any compassion. The food was alright I guess but not worth the staff their rudeness. I’d advise avoiding this specific spot of The Breakfast Club and pick a different one if you insist on eating here.

Absolute dream of a place to visit in Amsterdam, especially if you’re in the area. Very kind and helpful staff. Food was amazing and they weee very courteous in helping make a special meal for my daughter. Lovely atmosphere and will visit again

The restaurant is beautifully designed, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. There’s a wide variety of breakfast options, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious. The staff were lovely—always smiling and making guests feel welcome. A perfect way to start my day!

A minuscule chai latte and a old muffin 9€? You killed me. Te muffins are cheaper and better quality at Albert hein, don't fall for this place

We had the blueberry pancakes and the buttermilk pancakes, as well as a latte macchiato and an iced latte. The pancakes were nice and fluffy. The blueberry ones had a lovely cinnamon flavor. The buttermilk ones were a bit too sweet for us.

The atmosphere is nice! But to be honest, food and price don't watch for me. I wouldn't say it's not tasty, but no repeat for me. But you can enjoy the fancy breakfast time here!

I visited The Breakfast Club in the morning, and the place was clearly popular. The service was fast and friendly, the clean premises and the nice atmosphere made a good first impression. Seating was arranged quickly, but it soon started to get a little crowded. We ended up having coffee and croissants, as the more extensive breakfast seemed surprisingly expensive compared to what was available in the surrounding area. For example, several hotels, such as the XO Hotel, offer a buffet for 18 euros, which is an option for those with a bigger appetite. The Breakfast Club is great for a light breakfast or coffee break – breakfast can be ordered all day. High quality but expensive, so it’s worth comparing the options in the surrounding area if you’re looking for a more varied or cheaper option.

The waiter was so rude, he took away the plate while I was still eating. I felt so bad. Even though the place is nice and food was okay the service really ruined my whole experience. Wouldn't go here again or recommend. 👎

Extensive menu, however the service could be improved somewhat and hygiene is also a point of attention.
