The Coast beach house in Wijk 05 Monster

A cozy, atmospheric restaurant. It was December, and we sat inside. There's an outdoor terrace. Friendly staff. There's a paved footpath from the parking lot to the restaurant stairs.

We recently moved to this area and were truly surprised by the prices. €6 for a double espresso? €4.20 for a hot chocolate milk. And if you want whipped cream with that, it's an extra €1.50. We paid €11.40 for two hot chocolate milks with whipped cream. Apparently, that's normal in 2026. I understand that beach clubs have to make a profit in certain seasons, but this one seems to be open year-round. In the city center, you can get a double espresso for €3.50 at the nicest coffee shop with fresh beans from South America (Single Estate).

The fish soup was more like a curry soup with a piece of fish and was very spicy. The fries had chili powder on them and were greasy, which was a shame, and therefore spicy. And the pris was spicy too.

Beach bar near the parking lot at the end of Molenweg. Great atmosphere and a warm welcome. Delicious food (brisket), beautifully presented and well-seasoned. It's nice that the dishes—all the same price—are not so large and therefore less expensive. For me, a portion in an average restaurant is usually too large. Also great for sharing.

Great place on the beach, open all year. Indoor & outdoor. Nice view over the beach and the sea.

The ordering system from the menu has been changed. You now have to order everything separately. The base price is €15.50 for 100g of meat or fish. The side dishes are super small. It was still very tasty.

Beautiful beachfront location, friendly service, delicious apple pie. Two stars deducted for the sometimes high prices. A shame.

Nice place with a sea view. You can bring your dog, but that's about it. The food is expensive: one croquette on one slice of bread for 9.50!!! It was also cold inside. The ginger tea was also cold. I won't be back.

A nice restaurant, very nice service (also English speaking), friendly and accommodating, I can recommend the Coast Burger, the meat is very juicy, the meat juice comes out when served, not dry and the fries are homemade and very filling, if I am in the area again I will go there again

We took a coffee break there and felt very comfortable. Highly recommended!

We had a staff party here. The service was very attentive. The BBQ was excellent, as was the buffet. A big 10!

Helaas een bijzonder teleurstellend bezoek aan dit restaurant. De werkwijze is onhandig: je bestelt en betaalt direct via een QR-code op het terras. Wil je eerst een voorgerecht en daarna een hoofdgerecht? Dan moet je twee keer apart afrekenen. Ik bestelde een steak van €30,50, maar wat geserveerd werd leek totaal niet op een goede steak – het vlees was zo taai dat het amper te snijden of te kauwen was. Ik gaf dit aan bij het personeel en mocht iets anders kiezen, waarvoor ik een burger nam van €15,50. Toen ik het prijsverschil wilde terugvragen, werd dit geweigerd. Ook de manager was niet bereid naar onze tafel te komen en gaf aan dat ik zelf maar naar binnen moest komen als ik hem wilde spreken. Dit voelde erg klantonvriendelijk. De kwaliteit van het eten was ondermaats en de service ronduit onprofessioneel. Erg jammer, want de locatie heeft op zich potentie, maar op deze manier zou ik dit restaurant zeker niet aanraden.

It's very beautiful, but we ate Margarita and it wasn't even cut...how to eat it...also the coffee isn't tasty and the Aperol is expensive 11 euros instead of 8. So yes, it's expensive and you can't say it's tasty...

Nice restaurant at Monster at the beach. Friendly service and a good atmosphere. You can stroll along the beach and park uour car in the neighbourhood. We had dinner and the next day a lunch. The menu is not very extensive but oke. Prices unfortunately are high, possibly because of the excellent location.

Prices are too high. Food is okay. Drinks could be a bit cheaper.

In quick summary, the bread was stale and the croquettes were fatty for the lunch dish Croquettes with bread. The coffee was good and the service friendly. Seating is nice on the elevated platform of the beach house. Quite some outdoor guests were smoking, perhaps a coincidence.

We went there with a few people and ordered some dishes. I had the burger and fries, which both were of very poor quality. The burger was very raw, with little else to it (simple bun, small piece of bacon, small piece of cheese, and a piece of lettuce/tomato. The fries were quite tasteless, with no salt and just a tiny bit of mayonnaise.

Very friendly service. Good food. Beach-like prices ;-)

We always like to come here as this place is open year long. Insight is always warm and very clean. The personnel are very welcoming.

Lekker gegeten maar toch wat opmerkingen: Waarom wordt er niet iets van groenten bij de hoofdgerechten geserveerd? (voor die prijs zag het er kaal uit..) Waarom kan er geen kraanwater geserveerd worden, in combinatie met een diner, ipv de dure 750 cc fles a 8,25 euro? We vonden het een lekker maar te duur diner voor wat je krijgt.. Complimenten voor het personeel, erg vriendelijk!

Have been waiting for more than 20 minutes and the waiter never showed up and funny thing is many people who came after me have been helped and ordered and some even left after having a drink. Guess they only serve western people!

Open on time, and fun! It is pricey, but we're getting used to that these days. Too bad and a letdown for me. Order via QR code and pay in advance with your phone. I am old-fashioned, I like card service and cash should remain possible. Therefore 2 stars! Too bad about this!

Ridiculous! We came here regularly and with great pleasure. However, this afternoon was a very disappointing experience. We sat on the terrace and because no one came to take our order, other customers pointed out a QR code to us. When I scanned it I had to accept all kinds of advertisements, the alternative was that I could continue by paying €4.95. Not so. At the bar we were told that we could only order via the QR code or otherwise use it within our drinks. In a noisy indoor environment, while we had a lovely seat outside, we sat at a dirty table. When we pointed this out to the waitress, the crumbs were briefly swept off the table. We didn't see her at our table again. We left and won't come here again. Very unfortunate, because it was a regular outing for us.

Had something to eat here after a walk. Many tables had been reserved in the restaurant and it was otherwise well occupied. 1x bread of warm meat and 1x fish soup. This was richly filled and delicious.

Just threatened by the owner! After he had been staring at us for fifteen minutes, while young people aged 12-16 were present. Lots of fun here!

Very unfriendly, especially the man with the gray hair and the cap, food is not good either! Staff just give you dirty and mean looks and they are very grumpy

2025: visited again last weekend and unfortunately prices are now through the roof... hot chocolate with whipped cream now costs €5.60... ridiculous!!!!. A simple sandwich with croquette (1 croquette) now costs more than €6. 2018: Okay tent. Enough choices but slightly on the more expensive side. Friendly service.

Portions could really be a bit bigger here or the prices should be adjusted slightly, because that is not really in proportion.

Jarenlange bezoeker van The Coast (vanuit Den Haag). Nu ook even tussen Kerst en Oud-/Nieuw. Maar inmiddels is het niet leuk meer. Aan bijna iedere tafel is een hond aangesloten. Het blaft en doet. Ondanks verzoeken buiten aan de hondeneigenaren. Verschrikkelijk: waarom mogen we hier niet genieten zonder deze kennel.

Nice cozy atmosphere on this Boxing Day. The staff is very young, sometimes inexperienced, they do their utmost, but they have little knowledge and feeling. Pay more attention to the tables, have a better sense of what is wanted, etc. Other than that, really great beach bar, competitive prices.

Nice atmospheric beach bar. Friendly and smooth service. Dog friendly. Unfortunately the prices are very high. €4.20 for a mini glass of orange juice I find really absurd. Mint tea €4,- = glass of water with a sprig of weed. And one sandwich with fricandeau for €15,-!! For these prices the portions could be a lot bigger.

Since a new owner has taken over, the food has gone downhill. More of the "regular" food than what was served before (for example: A delicious pizza parma ham with pesto is now pizza margharita or pepperoni. Not bad in itself, but neither has any taste. The Coast burger is simple with many additions, so that the little meat on it does not stand out. A delicious (and extensive) platter is now 8 bitterballen). The Coast is now only good for a cup of coffee and a cake. Nothing more.

Nice place, friendly service! We always like to come here in the late season! Prices are now on the high side, for example 1.50 for a little with a (too) small piece of apple pie..

Delicious, with very attentive service

Ik wilde graag met mijn familie deze strandtent bezoeken. Helaas bleek dat niet mogelijk omdat dit restaurant - dat als één van de weinigen in westland jaarrond op het strand geopend mag zijn - GEEN ROLSTOELTOEGANG heeft. Jongens dat is toch niet meer van deze tijd. Echt minpunten. Ik heb hier bijna geen woorden voor, er is ook geen enkel excuus denkbaar om mensen in een rolstoel uit te sluiten van deze ervaring op het strand. Kom op, maak een afgeschuinde toegang voor mensen met rollators, rolstoelen en andere hulpmiddelen. Do better.

Two of us had a lovely lunch in lovely Autumn sun. Crayfish salad was excellent. Steak wedges and fries looked nice, unfortunately steak was very tough 😞

The food was okay, but what terrible music. According to the waitress it was the same music every day. It was not adjusted or turned down.

Had lunch on the terrace in lovely autumn weather. Service very friendly. Nice meal. Round forks are worthless to hold. And you must really love dogs. We were the exception without a dog…

Went there with full enthusiasm, but waiting on the stairs because no reservation, even when we called for reservations they said ‘ no we don’t do reservations’. Your are also closing the inside and just let customers been seated on the balcony sides. It is fine. Eventually we are sitting, but if you only offer the outside to sit, than as a customer we are expecting that it is clean. We were sitting under the houses of the spiders. Thus, there were many fruitflies which indicates that something’s are not so good cleaned. Our first course was quick and nice: borrel mix. The main dish we took the pirri pirri chicken and the hamburger. The chicken dish was good, chicken was good cooked. The hamburger was less, it was blend, no taste at all. The portions were good. The fries were nice. The reason for 3 stars is because of the sitting area was not cleaned enough and filthy. It is also very pricey. The staff were nice.

We wanted to have dinner on the beach with some friends. Upon arrival, the owner was sitting on the stairs. When we asked if he had a table for us, he immediately said no, even though there were plenty of empty tables. When I asked him about it, he said that he had enough "knacks" and did not need us. Strange experience and an extremely arrogant man.

Top tent, fantastic service, incredibly good food, I don't think the location could be better.

A beautiful establishment on the seashore. The view is incredible, the food is delicious, the service is fast, the staff is polite. I recommend it 🙂

A nice beach tent as it was intended. Relax with good music and tasty dishes that you can enjoy on the terrace. No fuss or exaggerated luxury that you see nowadays! If I want to, I'll go to a regular restaurant instead of a beach bar. If I may make one critical comment. I recommend that the coffee piston machine be cleaned better. It certainly improved the coffee taste, which was now bitter and nasty. Very positive the attentive and friendly staff.

Great service and a very nice location, we really liked it. Parking is free for the first 2 hours, the beach is much nicer than at the pier in Sheveningen.

The atmosphere of The Coast Beach House is amazing. Located directly on Monster beach, the views of the ocean and potential sunset are unbeatable! They only had seating outside (the inside was blocked off). The food was relatively pricy for the quality. The burger and fries were okay, but looked better than they tasted sadly. Staff was very friendly!

Beautiful beach bar, nice staff and the food looks good. I would like to come here more often. 1 downside, the prices are high, and charging 1.50 euros for a syringe / 1 dollop of ready-made whipped cream in addition to the apple pie is overpriced.

Horrible service, we asked them to sit inside with eleven people where they had a big table that wasn’t booked, they rejected us without an explanation and expected us to sit in the burning sun with 4 little kids, no umbrellas, nothing. Thanks for nothing, bye!

A bit pricey, but you get a good view, nice staff, and more than good food. Would've given 4,5* if I could.

Due to allergies, a menu has been put together with the manager. Salmon with potatoes and lettuce. Nice and sweet. (Leave the potatoes, they were not tasty, not fried but boiled and then placed in the oil with herbs.) When paying we really felt robbed. All three dishes were served separately rather than a menu I would otherwise have had. €39.50 for salmon with lettuce and potatoes. Absurd. Please indicate at checkout that this cannot be correct. “We can't do anything about it now” and with that we were sent away. We had already paid. Perhaps even more important, if you send a signal about how people deal with customers. We used to like coming here... Too bad!

Food, location and staff very good

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. You accidentally enter through the wrong entrance and are immediately barked at by the owner (?). The poor staff look on in shame. Fortunately, there are plenty of alternatives here!!

We was there with a group of people, we all got great service and enjoyed our food. The restaurant is at the beach so you can enjoy stunning sunsets

Had delicious coffee with even better pastries (carrot cake & apple pie) with my hubby. Beautiful view of the beach, sunshine and nice people around us. Don't do anything about it anymore!

Super nice place to have lunch after beach walk. Always come to this place when I'm at the beach, they've got the best sandwiches. Definitely recommend the tuna or carpaccio sandwich. The service is sometimes a little slow, but they are very nice and helpful and want to make it a delightful experience. It's also very nice as dogs are allowed in the building, so you can stop for a snack while walking your dog.

The food was fine, but the disabled toilet was stacked with chairs so I had nowhere to change my baby. A bit strange.

I have been coming here occasionally for years to eat and/or drink something. The beach tent has a nice location because it is high on stilts. This gives you a beautiful view. The atmosphere inside is cozy and the service friendly. However, the price for the food has really become too high. Paying a little more because it's on the beach is fine, but a hamburger for €21.50 is really too expensive. Not a double burger, but just a cheeseburger with some vegetables on top. I wanted to order the steak first, but that would have cost me €33: €27 for the steak and €6 because the fries are not even included. Unless you are really a specialty restaurant in steaks, this is simply too expensive. Starters and desserts are all at least €10 (most options are even more expensive). Given the crowds, the prices will probably not drop, but we will not come to eat again. A coffee is ok, but this is almost impossible. Too bad, because otherwise it is pleasant and the service is always friendly.

What a deception! My son ordered tuna steak and within the hour was on the toilet with diarrhea and vomiting. We had a Meat platter for 2 people. For €70.00 some cooked pieces of meat and 1 small steak for 2 people. Underneath the meat are some overcooked slices of carrots, broccoli and raw mini corn, all without taste. 2 cans of sauce, 1 way too hot, and 1 teriakki from a bottle. Doesn't fit in at all. Asked in advance whether the fries were with mayonnaise, the answer was yes, but unfortunately it turned out to be fries sauce. When I say something about that, the answer is that they call French fries sauce mayonnaise. The fries themselves were dry and very hard. Tastes may differ, but I won't come back here again.

Multilingual, very friendly staff. It was very busy as a breakfast buffet was offered. However, we only had drinks and cake. Everything was very delicious. We'd love to come back.

Super nice beach tent 'on stilts' in Ter Heijde. Open all year round. As soon as the weather is nice again, the terrace will open; That's where you feel most comfortable :) Many visitors with dogs. Background music is (fortunately) not that loud.
