Very nice place for a day out: swimming, eating, paddleboarding, walking

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. We had to wait about an hour before someone came to take our order. Only after I pointed out twice that we had been waiting all that time did someone come by. And this while we only wanted to order a simple cup of coffee. The excuse given was that it was busy inside and that there was therefore no time to serve the guests on the terrace. Frankly, I didn't think that was a good reason. Additionally, there were quite a few hairs on our table. Perhaps this was because we were sitting outside, but it certainly didn't feel hygienic or pleasant.

Beautiful place, but we felt completely unseen as guests. We were not greeted upon arrival. We walked over to a staff member ourselves to ask if we could sit outside on the terrace and order, which was no problem. After that, basically no more attention was paid to us. We walked inside from the terrace three times to look for a staff member: to order, to ask for a drink, and finally to pay. No one came to ask if everything was to our liking, or if we wanted another drink when our glass was empty, and our plates were not cleared either. Because of this, the staff came across as very uninterested, even though it was absolutely not busy. Add to that the high prices and small portions, and for us, it was quite a disappointment.

Friendly staff. Had a nice lunch. It was a bit warm inside, but it was 38 degrees outside too, so yeah...

We were here to swim and paddleboard, which was lovely. The weather was also wonderful, so that certainly helps, but there was a nice environment and friendly staff. We would love to come back here!

The food is very tasty and the staff are polite and friendly. However, there are sometimes a lot of algae in the water.

Good food, good drinks, excellent service. Nothing wrong with that. You are situated beautifully by the water of De Geffense Plas. A large terrace where you can always sit just out of the sun or right in the sun.

No vegan option on the menu, but after calling ahead they said they would arrange it. I had a fantastic meal; all compliments to the chef. Friendly service, nice, clean place.

Unfortunately, I have to revise my review... the food has gotten worse and we were sitting in an enclosed, sweltering room without air conditioning at 35 degrees... Unbearable! Luckily, one customer opened the door, which meant we survived, but there was no question of dessert and/or extra drinks. Finished the main course and got out as quickly as possible.

The lake is fantastic, very safe, and there's plenty of ground. The sand on the beach is a big plus instead of rocks or gravel. It's great that you can rent a SUP. I recommend it.

Because we arrived with a wheelchair dancer, we were received very unwelcomingly. We were told we wouldn't be able to get onto the terrace by bike without paying an entrance fee. When I, stubborn as I am, went to check out that alternative route anyway, it turned out to be no problem at all to get there with the wheelchair bike.

Super beautiful location and very atmospherically decorated inside. The avocado toast was very tasty and looked nice. It was a bit of a shame that my mother, who doesn't eat much, had to pay the same price for 2 fried eggs instead of 3 (which the waitress herself suggested); they could have knocked 1 euro or something off the price. We pointed this out to the wait staff, but they just thought it was strange. The service... seriously. Young girls were just standing inside chatting with each other while we were waiting outside to be served. We walked inside to ask if someone could perhaps help us. The dark-haired waitress's face spoke volumes. This lady was very unfriendly.

During a code red alert due to extreme heat, it is understandable that things do not proceed as normal. However, precisely in such exceptional circumstances, some flexibility should be expected from both sides. It was indicated that the climate control system could not handle the extreme temperatures. That is unfortunate, but understandable in itself. Less understandable was that a request for a glass of tap water was refused. Even for a fee, this proved impossible. This creates the impression that guests, despite an indoor temperature of well over 30 degrees, are reliant solely on purchasing bottled water. At many other locations, free tap water is offered during this heatwave precisely as a gesture of goodwill, or there is at least some room for customization. In exceptional situations, hospitality is about a bit of give and take. Unfortunately, I did not experience that willingness here. This gives the impression that commercial interests are more important than the well-being of the guests during these extreme weather conditions. I consider that a missed opportunity.

We were here with a large group of women and had called the day before because we didn't know exactly how many of us there would be. We were told that this was not a problem. We had all chosen a three-course lunch, which was listed on the menu at €24.50. Unfortunately, the waitress made an issue of a second table being reserved as soon as we arrived with fewer people. There were still several seats available in the restaurant, so we didn't see the problem. Then they made an issue of the fact that so many lunches had supposedly been prepared and there were fewer of us. After that, we did not receive our third course (dessert), meaning we had to pay €24.50 per person for a small soup and a few gourmet sandwiches. When we also wanted to pay per person, that was not well received. In short, a place where we will never go for lunch again with our large group of ladies. Hospitality and customer service certainly need to be improved!

On June 6, my father and his girlfriend celebrated their 125th birthday, and the party was truly amazing. The venue at Stand 10 had exactly the right atmosphere: relaxed, cozy, and perfect for an evening full of fun. The food was excellently prepared and was a hit with everyone. The music selection was strong — ABBA's Dancing Queen remains a guaranteed mood setter — and the singing moments gave the evening an extra fun touch. The photo booth was a fantastic idea and provided many spontaneous, cheerful moments. Moreover, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. The mystery drinks were truly a mystery… just like the headache that followed later, but that is part of a successful evening. All in all, it was a top-notch party that was put together with care. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience a fun, well-organized evening.

Subject: car boot sale Strand 10. Everything the same but under a different name. Lots of clothing, shoes, and tools. Pleasant by the water. No food consumed.

Nice view and a beautiful, accessible spot. We sat outside on the terrace of Strand Tien and the food was okay. Unfortunately, the service was very poor. They tried to make the best of it, but we received incorrect orders up to four times. Also, the staff themselves couldn't tell the difference between a regular beer and a white Trappist. There was a complete lack of sharpness when taking orders. We ordered quite a lot here, but apparently they couldn't manage a carafe of water. All in all, we are not very satisfied with this place.

Went to the carboot...not very busy...there were 2 points for drinks and snacks, out in the field. 2 cans of drink and a bottle of water, which wasn't chilled...€10.50...too few seats..., it's a shame, gentlemen, that you (have to) charge such prices.

Beautiful location by a recreational lake. Due to the crowds on Mother's Day, we made a reservation for 4:30 PM. The atmosphere and food were fine. So why only 2 stars? Once again, the service! It is still substandard. The restaurant was empty upon arrival, although the terrace was full. At the bar stood three ladies who were very busy chatting and therefore forgot to welcome us and escort us to a table. We just chose a spot ourselves. After waiting 15 minutes, we went inside to ask if we could order something. To our astonishment, our order was taken with great reluctance and visible displeasure. Fortunately, we did not see this unfriendly lady (dark-haired) again after that, and we were served well by the other staff. It is a shame to see customers treated with so much disrespect. Apparently, the hiring policy here (due to a staff shortage?) is very forgiving. I would have liked to give my mother a slightly nicer experience on Mother's Day.

Today I celebrated my birthday with friends at your restaurant. I had specifically reserved table 209 in advance, which was important to me. The start of the evening was indeed really good: the food was tasty and the service was friendly, attentive, and quick. However, while we were eating our main course, the manager came to our table asking if we could switch places. I found this very inappropriate. Firstly, we were in the middle of our meal, and secondly, I had reserved this table. Eventually, we were moved after the meal, even though I actually didn't want to. I also indicated that I did not find this appropriate. Unfortunately, this moment ruined the atmosphere of my birthday considerably. I do not believe that guests should be treated in this way, certainly not on a special occasion like a birthday. Therefore, I will not be returning here. Sincerely, Kristina, Today's Birthday Girl.

Very beautiful location, however the quality of the food and certainly the service left much to be desired. Had to get the staff at the cash register multiple times to get a drink. A real missed opportunity!

Yesterday I had dinner prior to a theater performance elsewhere. I chose lemon chicken. Two pieces of overcooked chicken thigh that had been warmed up on the grill were served. No vegetables, incredibly boring factory-made fries as a side dish, and all that for €22. Apart from the fact that absolutely no attention had been paid to the dish, it is incomprehensible that they dare to charge €22 for such a rubbish meal!

Unfortunately, our last visit was less enjoyable. We arrived with 10 people just after lunch, so it wasn't very busy. Just having lunch... The dishes were almost all quite small and priced well. My pastry had been sitting under the lamp for quite some time and was unfortunately dried out by the time I received it. Cutlery was missing, so we got it ourselves. One person, the smallest one, was unfortunately forgotten, and the soup I received at the same time as the main course was almost cold. Very young waitresses. That is probably beyond our control, but unfortunately, you notice it. A shame.

It is overwhelming how delicious food can taste. It is such a delight to come and eat here every time. The chef(s) turn food into a truly irresistible taste sensation. Every course of the 3-course menu was superb. We are coming here for the umpteenth time now and we have never eaten anything that tasted less good, and the service is always excellent as well. Thank you, Strand Tien, for another wonderful Friday evening. I do not work for Michelin, but if I did, I would certainly give them at least 1 star.

Had a drink here after a walk; the service was good, the lunch menu was extensive, but didn't eat anything. I did take a lovely 2.5 km walk around the water. There are walking route markers here where you can plot a route of your desired distance yourself, and afterwards relax, eat, and drink at Strand 10, a beautiful spot.

We had a very tasty and surprising meal yesterday. We have eaten here several times before and it is always good. This time we ordered the BBQ & smoker tasting platter and it was really great. A beautiful platter as a starter with soup, smoked salmon, olives, beef tartare, and Coppa di Parma ham (I think????). Certainly not a modest portion and very tasty. For the main course, also a substantial platter with steak, pork belly, chicken wings, and rack of lamb. Fries and salad finished it off. Real BBQ and smoker flavor. Dessert was okay, and a bit messy. Still tasty though, with scoops of ice cream, chocolate mousse, a small bun, and a bit of everything. So, highly recommended.

We've eaten here several times, and it's always been excellent! Highly recommended!

Update: After the kind words below and sending the email again, I haven't received any response from Strand 10 yet. The way Strand 10 handles feedback is, if possible, even more disappointing than the food. NB: I sent the email to your address on June 20th. I just sent it again. I participated in a social deal. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Both the starter and the main course were bland, uninspired, and fried. We didn't even eat them. The waitress was nice and also said she didn't understand why the kitchen had made that choice. All in all, we still spent around €50 per person and just didn't enjoy the food. I think that's a shame, especially for such a beautiful place. I sent them an email before posting a review because I wanted them to know about it and I felt they should be. I've always learned that every complaint is also an opportunity. Unfortunately, I haven't received any response to my email. It's a real shame, and unfortunately, not customer-focused.

We had another delicious meal last week! We can't wait for summer to return so we can spend almost every weekend there with our friends and kids. Enjoying the terrace overlooking the water while the kids play in the large, fun playground, allowing us to keep a close eye on them. Truly fantastic! We always thought something like this was only available at De IJzeren Man. So glad to have it so close by, and that's why it deserves 5 stars!

Rather lackluster. A "practical" interior with a PVC floor, the kind you'd find in a nursing home dining room. You'd think that with the name "Strand 10," the decor could have been a bit more exciting and lively, like a proper beach club. The owners probably didn't care: the place was packed.

Nice place with a view of the Geffense Plas lake, BUT the portions are very small: the price is very high for what you get. The quality of the food is also not what it should be (certainly not for the price): fish soup is insufficient for 9.50 (3 mussels, 1 scampi, no fish, fennel is hard to find with a magnifying glass) and kibbelings for 11.50: 3 pieces, overcooked, thickly coated in flour and greasy, and 1.5 handfuls of fries. A disappointment.

We made a reservation for lunch for two three days in advance. Upon arrival, all the tables by the window were occupied. We were greeted and asked if we had a reservation. Just a moment, the waitress returned and pointed to two tables for two in the third row from the window, with a room divider with plants overlooking the lake. We were given a choice and probably didn't look happy because another line followed: it's very busy due to the holiday season, and if you make a reservation next time, you should make your preferences known. The table for two: one person could sit on a chair, the other had to sit on a sofa that was completely uncomfortable. Our experience at beach 10, overlooking the Geffense Plas, was more like having lunch in a company canteen. No more reservations for us!

The price/quality ratio isn't right. A farm chicken sandwich (hope the name is correct) with two rolls of joma and two slices of chicken you normally put on a sandwich. Nicely presented, though. That €14 is too expensive for me.

Missed opportunity: very friendly waitress says that it is no problem to get some salad instead of 2x fries with dishes of € 27.00 per dish. However, after 5 minutes she comes back that this is not allowed. The fries stay away, but for the little salad we can just pay the card price!

Weird work of waiter, super unprofessional, slow and not polite. For question in English, answer was still in Dutch. How that can be possible? We left place after answer “we don’t know, how fast kitchen can be, we are busy”, but place was almost empty. Please, take improvements. View and interior were very nice, but it is nothing, when service works like this.

Enjoy a delicious lunch in a beautiful, green environment This atmospheric restaurant with a view of its own beach and water is located in a beautiful wooded area. The restaurant is neat and clean, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We had lunch here on a weekday Wednesday and were glad we had made a reservation – it was surprisingly busy, and the best tables were already occupied before noon. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the service was quick. We chose the salad with crispy chicken and the toast with salmon – both dishes were generously filled and tasted excellent. Our dietary requirements, which we had communicated in advance, were also carefully taken into account. An additional plus is the view of the private beach, which looked clean and well-kept. For those who want to stay longer: you can relax there for €4,- entrance fee. In short: a must for those who love good food in a quiet, natural environment.

The location and food is excellent. We ordered a variety of things, both for adults and kids, and all agreed that the quality of food was great. The service was friendly but slow. This may have just been the busiest time, but we had hungry 5 year olds and a 30+ minute wait after ordering was a bit too much. The other minus point was the beach and recreation access; this is not connected to the restaurant and you have to go out and around to go in. It also closes up at 1800 most days. So good for early visits, but around dinner time it gets harder, especially for younger children. All in all, I would recommend this place for adults, parents with older kids (8+), and people with patience. The food is well worth the wait, and in any other situation would probably not be an issue. The service was friendly and available. Just don't expect a terass with easy access to the beach or playground.

We have already heard many good reactions and have now experienced it ourselves. A beautiful metamorphosis to the current Strand Tien with a beautiful view over the Geffense Plas and the forest. The interior is cozy. Very friendly employees with excellent service. We had a delicious meal there in the evening. On to the summer to first walk there and then enjoy the terrace!

The food is good if you have a gastric reduction. Otherwise it is very little and far too little choice in soup. The tomato soup burns your throat and you can't eat it.

Dear Strand Tien Team, I’d like to share our recent experience, which left us quite disappointed and feeling unwelcome during our visit most especially because our parents are regulars who come in every week and sometimes several times. My wife and I with our parents arrived and asked for a table outside. A staff member looked at us briefly from a distance but then walked past us to take another guest’s order without a word, leaving us waiting awkwardly. Eventually, she returned to attend to us. We were given a table near the beach, which had a “reserved” sign on it, but we were told we could sit there. We appreciated this, especially as we mentioned we’d only be staying for about an hour. However, as the sun became too hot, we asked another waiter if we could move to a shaded spot. That waitress kindly helped us relocate, and we moved our elderly father in law who has difficulty walking to the new table. Shortly after settling in, the same waitress who welcomed us returned and told us we couldn’t sit there because it was reserved for other guests arriving “now.” We were asked to move again, with no attempt to offer a solution or compromise not even a suggestion of where to sit like figure it out yourself. We ended up sitting inside, and to our surprise, the table we were told was reserved remained unoccupied for the rest of our stay. When it came time to pay, we shared our disappointment with the waitress, highlighting how the situation could’ve been handled with more care. Her only response was that it was busy and the tables were reserved. But from the beginning, we had already been seated at a “reserved” table, and we had been clear we were not staying long. No acknowledgement of the poor hospitality , no apology nothing. Throughout the experience, we felt there was a lack of basic hospitality, flexibility, or any real effort to make us feel welcome. We hope this feedback is taken seriously, as it’s the service that ultimately shapes the guest experience, not just the view or the location.
