Had a really enjoyable meal at The Grasshopper Amsterdam! ❤️ The food was delicious and the service was excellent — the staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome. Great atmosphere and a lovely location too. Definitely a pleasant dining experience!

Don’t expect top notch service here. Rude servers & terrible customer service. Expensive for no reason. I’d go somewhere else.

We visited this bar and ordered Black Label. When the drinks arrived, it was immediately obvious from both the colour that we were served a completely different, cheaper blended whisky. A mistake can happen, so we politely brought it to the staff's attention. However, instead of rectifying the issue, they brought us the exact same incorrect spirit a second time while insisting it was Black Label. But it was not… Serving the wrong alcohol once is a mistake; doing it a second time after being explicitly notified is a deliberate attempt to mislead customers. This kind of practice is completely unacceptable.…

Wonderful location. Efficient and courteous service, limited menu, and adequate food. The dishes and menu variety could be improved. The quality/price ratio is unbelievable, but justified by the location and the view.

The best Bloody Mary I've had in years! If you stay for dinner, order the Stroganoff or the Schnitzel, they're amazing!

Cannot fathom how thos place gets good reviews - the wine was great but here's my honest view of the food 2 steaks both undercooked and fatty when we were told they were all meat and high quality by the waiter Sea bass totally not cooked and sent back - the table behind sent theirs back twice Baked potatoe tiny and looked like it had been reheated several times Beef stroganoff was lacking in meat and served with pasta despite being ordered without Waiter could not pour wine Wait staff asked twice about our meals and did nothing when we gave feedback The manager was arrogant and even argued with her own staff in front of us We were offered 4 shots of Lemoncello at the end of the meal - perhaps they thought that was compensation enough for a poorly cooked meal Too many options in the city to waste your money here and it's not inexpensive

Absolutely fantastic location with a view of the water. The food was of good quality and the drinks were well chilled. The service was particularly courteous and attentive. The fish was outstanding in both quality and preparation. The prices are a bit higher, but that's to be expected given the location and quality. I've definitely eaten much worse in Amsterdam for almost the same price. My conclusion: just go and enjoy your time. 👍

We had the tapas, ribs and schnitzel between us. All enjoyed our meals. The hot chorizo on the tapas a particular highlight. Staff lovely and just the right level of attention. Good location. It is the very touristy part, but feels a bit apart. Highly recommend for a sunny lunch and drinks.

Unfortunately, the cocktails consist almost entirely of ice cubes. Not recommended for the price!

Sat outside, at the back. 3 4 staff, jumping on you, asking frequently if everything is ok, without "pushing" you to order more drinks. Good portions, tasty, fast...and gorgeous views. We came here for dinner yesterday evening. It is simply delicious, with a view of the station. It was so good that we are back today for breakfast. Also very tasty. The price is on the high side. But to be expected for this location.

We are German and initially wanted to order a beer for a 17-year-old. This wasn't possible, and the waiter was immediately annoyed. The prices are extremely high for small portions. Spaghetti Bolognese for €21 was, at best, an appetizer. The fries were the worst I've had in a long time. The spare ribs tasted good and were plentiful. Overall, not recommended.

We ate here today and unfortunately can't understand the good reviews at all. The food is simply overpriced for what's offered. The portions are far too small – you definitely won't get full for your money. Furthermore, the quality left much to be desired. The fries were completely limp, soggy, and barely seasoned. For these prices, we expect significantly better quality and decent portions. We don't recommend it and will definitely not be coming back.

We came back to the grasshopper after a visit in 2003 when it was a coffee shop the staff was amazing this time and the food was another level also 1 thing to point out as you go down to the toilets you will see the kitchen and to be honest with you I’ve never ever seen a cleaner kitchen in all my time of eating out

Execent service received, especially from Joan, Virgil and Bogdan. We visited this restaurant outside our hotel and found everyone very friendly. We walked around and ended up back here for dinner and plan to visit for all our meals during our stay. Great service, good food, awesome atmosphere and super clean.

Service and setting were great. Food was fair with high prices. We only had starters no entrees. Entrees list was limited in our opinion, which we decided to have a drink, starter and move along. The drinks were presented in a decorated presentation and were very good.

Looked lovely so headed over, shown to a table then ignored for about 20 minutes! Saw a waitress so called to her to be told “give me a minute” she then walked to the large table of 6 plus next to us and stated to take their order. At which point the two of us got up and left. Worst service ever! Avoid unless you are a large party maybe!!

Mixed feelings about this place. Very nice location and staff (especially Razvan). Unfortunately not good marks for the food - i had a grasshopper cheeseburger and, sincerely, it was probably the worst burger i have every eaten. Even McDonald's and fast-food chains burgers are more enjoyable. Maybe the other meals from the menu are better. Anyway, worth a stop. At least, for a beer and a nice view.

Eight of us called in for a drink last night. What a lovely bar. Very friendly staff. We came back today for breakfast. They do a really nice English breakfast. Friends had salmon and fish and chips and both said there food was gorgeous. We will definitely come back.

Good food, fresh pints. What more can I say right? Actually I can. The view of the outdoor bar is stunning. But the service from Razvan was even better. He has never missed an emptied pint or a missing fork. It was as if he was just around the corner waiting for a service (despite being the only one serving 100 tables) Overall, very impressed with both food and service. Will be back for sure.

Was going to sit there for desert and drinks but was told to come back later as it was dinner time and seats only for people buying food this place has already 3.9 starts so you know its not good but 2.9 would be more accurate for their horrible customer service

I had a very good experience here, the staff was friendly especially Mihai & Tabita, the service was fast and smooth, even got some snacks on the house that come with the beer, definitely recommend, and i would pay a visit again:)

Very nice place – naturally pricey for the location, but that's normal in Amsterdam. Verdict: worth a visit ;) PS: for the Austrians, no decent schnapps or digestifs, except for tequila and Jägermeister ;)

A wonderful place, cozy, clean and very tasty! We were looking for a place to have dinner for a long time and it turned out to be quite difficult in Amsterdam, the establishments are usually too simple, uncomfortable and with a poor menu. When we came here, the mood improved significantly, the employee Bogdan made our stay there wonderful, we are very grateful for this and a delicious dinner!
