We were invited there. It's a shame it was raining because you can also sit outside. We were invited for high tea. It was truly fantastic. We enjoyed it.

Great location and very friendly staff, and very cozy and good. I could definitely enjoy myself there for a while.

On the outskirts of Hengelo (O), nestled between meadows and cycle paths, lies a rural tea house. They have a diverse tea menu, and we had reserved a high tea; we had plenty of time to enjoy the delicious, extensive savory and sweet dishes. The service was warm and busy, so it could take a moment for the tea to be refilled. However, anyone who takes their time to enjoy themselves will not mind. We had a lovely afternoon and will certainly return.

Cakes and tea were OK. Cutlery and plates were very nice, posh. Service and atmosphere were great.

Today was the first time I visited the "Thee Tuin" for a "High Coffee" for two. First of all, there was the super friendly waitress; she deserves 10 stars for her enthusiastic explanation of all the treats on the platters. To start, a tasty couscous salad in a glass—delicious! The savory platter was also a success. Quiche, chicken sandwich... everything was tasty. The sweet platter was a real treat. Delicious sweets, and tasty chocolate. This, combined with a good cup of coffee and an unobstructed view over the meadows, makes this a perfect location to take a break. It is a shame, though, that you can only give 15 stars; they certainly deserve 50!

It is a cozy tea garden with friendly staff and a small shop attached; an ideal and pleasant stop while walking or cycling to take a short break.

Amazing experience. Now that is a high tea experience! It is truly an authentic little tea house.. When you enter, you smell delicious baked treats and the atmosphere is so cozy. You really get the feeling here that you are sitting in a tea house. The tea is delicious and the flavors are truly amazing. The food was incredibly tasty, what a treat. Bought some delicious tea afterwards. Staff super attentive and friendly. Service really comes first here. I will definitely be back. 😍 Unfortunately, I can't write a 2nd review, so I'll just do it this way. We often drive past here with our lesson groups from the riding school. We finally sat down here and had lunch with my mother. We had a cappuccino (which could have been a bit warmer). And a pulled pork toastie, which was delicious. We will definitely come back to this beautiful spot again.

On our way to Alkmaar, we stopped here for a snack. It's a short drive from the motorway to Theetuin Driene, but the little detour is absolutely worth it! The teahouse overlooks nature, is charmingly and lovingly decorated, and offers delicious homemade cakes, fabulous coffee, and also savory hot dishes. In summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the lovely atmosphere. We received very friendly service, enjoyed both savory snacks and coffee, tea, and cake, and highly recommend this little excursion!

A nice place to sit comfortably, though the orange juice tasted like cheap carton juice, terribly sour, and the cappuccino wasn't very good either, weak and from a vending machine. The sandwiches and other items were okay, but the scone was dry and crispy. All in all, nothing special.

Tucked away on a farmhouse in the countryside between Hengelo and Enschede lies this beautiful, warm spot. A warm welcome and service, with a homely atmosphere. We enjoyed high tea; everything was fresh and homemade. We'll be back soon!

In tea culture worldwide, it's common to reuse the same tea leaves multiple times. Tea leaves open after the first infusion and often develop an even richer flavor with subsequent brewings. We ordered tea served with an infuser, allowing you to adjust the strength yourself. We therefore assumed we could simply refill it with hot water. However, when we asked the waiter, we were rather rudely told we would have to order a completely new cup of tea. This policy feels unreasonable, especially considering the relatively high price for a small cup. Furthermore, the communication was unprofessional. A disappointing experience.

Wow, what a place! A hidden gem, if you ask me! We went there because we'd heard good things about high tea. Now, I'm used to high tea, but this one was above and beyond. It was anything but the "standard" high tea you'd expect. All the snacks and teas amazed me. It was all so unique, and everything was homemade. So much time and attention is put into making the experience completely enjoyable. This also applies to the service, which was incredibly hospitable and goes above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Don't forget the little shop attached to it; you can also browse there and it's tempting to take something nice home with you. My compliments on the entire setting. The decor also speaks volumes and is incredibly cozy. Definitely worth the effort/money to go there. I paid with pleasure :-)

My girlfriend and I had high tea here, and it was absolutely delicious. We started with a delicious pumpkin soup, a savory platter, and a sweet platter with wonderful tea flavors. There's a tea menu with different tea flavors on both the front and back. You could taste that the soup, everything on the savory platter, and the sweet platter were all homemade, because it was truly delicious. The staff were also incredibly friendly. Now I understand why the tea garden is so popular! We'll definitely be back, and for lunch sometime too, because that looked absolutely delicious. Thank you so much!

We had high tea for two today. Lots of delicious food; you can definitely taste the homemade flavors. For me personally, a few of the sweet dishes were a bit too sweet, but they were still very tasty. It's nice that it has an autumn theme with autumn flavors this time of year. After visiting a museum in the city center, we wanted to enjoy some peace and quiet in the countryside with a refreshing drink. The Theetuin Driene proved to be the perfect spot for this. It's beautifully situated yet easily accessible by car. A welcoming, homey atmosphere is the first thing you'll encounter upon arrival. The homemade pastries and other delicacies are invitingly displayed at the entrance. To our surprise, the extensive menu also includes a variety of small dishes (savory and sweet) at a reasonable price. It's a great way to enjoy a few wraps, toasted sandwiches, sandwiches, scones, pastries, and so on. Enjoy delicious coffee or choose from the many teas available. The quality is excellent. The service is very friendly and pleasant; we thoroughly enjoyed everything and left feeling completely refreshed. Highly recommended!

Found it fantastic! I have rarely had such a delicious high tea, I was there with 2 friends and sat in the room downstairs. We got 3 courses with savory, sandwiches and sweet. We were told that (almost) everything was homemade and you could taste that too. The first course was a combination with feta and beets if I remember correctly and a delicious taste sensation and everything that came after that followed when it comes to flavors. The desserts were also not too sweet, small but filling but not so that you were too full afterwards. What was also nice was that you could also order coffee in addition to tea (various pure natural flavors so no factory bags). The only point I have is that a group came in and it suddenly became very noisy so that we could no longer hear each other and I indicated this to the waitress, after which she immediately went on the defensive in our opinion and did not react in a friendly or helpful or solution-oriented way at all. She indicated that everything was fully booked and another place was not feasible but she would inform after which I did not hear from her anymore and I spoke to the friendly gentleman from the beginning and he said that we could just sit upstairs in the attic and that place was much quieter that we could still hear each other. Not many tables so I think that making a reservation is useful.

Last Saturday I enjoyed delicious savory/sweet treats here with my cousins. They regularly pass by here by bike. Well, they didn't say too much. Everything was delicious!! Super nice service and ambiance. Relaxed and enjoyed everything around me. And when we left, I bought some delicious homemade fudge. For home... I brought business cards with me to give to others. What a fun afternoon it was...and...delicious! Definitely come back. 10-5-2025 Wonderful Saturday afternoon on the terrace together with my cousins ​​and enjoying all kinds of delicacies. Nice place. Very unfortunate that one of the staff, a young lady, was not friendly and hospitable. If someone works in the catering industry, they must learn to listen to the wishes of guests, not themselves.

Theetuin Driene is very nicely decorated, the tables nicely laid with various floral tableware. The service is very friendly and made sure we didn't miss anything. The broccoli soup beforehand was already a highlight, how delicious! The next round was a savory snack board and then a sweet one. Everything was freshly made, it was delicious. We tasted several types of tea. I really recommend it if you want a nice and cozy high tea.

What a wonderful place, both outside and inside... a farm converted into a tea garden where you can also drink coffee and delicious sandwiches... we ate mini sandwiches, but regular sandwiches and so many types of tea were also delicious.

We had a very pleasant "savory high tea" with a group of 12. Started with a drink and a very extensive snack board, a pumpkin or tomato soup followed by a savory board. The ending was tea or coffee with a cake stand with sweets. We enjoyed all the goodies. And it was so good and beautifully cared for. Definitely worth repeating.

You can enjoy delicious food and drinks at Theetuin Driene. Unfortunately, they don't always seem to be able to handle the capacity when it is busier. We do not want to place an extra chair or table outside when the weather is nice. That's why we left last time. Many products cannot be ordered when it is busier. It is therefore advisable to book a few days in advance if you want a high tea or high wine. They are not always customer friendly, and they do not seem very patient when taking the order. If you want to change something while ordering, you will be rejected. Too bad because this is certainly a place with a lot of potential, but it prevents me from coming back. This is something to work on.

Gezellige ruimte, eten is echt goed. Helaas een aantal dingen op de kaart die niet altijd beschikbaar zijn om te bestellen. Plankjes, high tea's. Kunnen vaak de capaciteit niet aan als het wat drukker is. Dus wil je een high tea of iets soortgelijks dan is het aan te raden de kaart een aantal dagen van te voren te bekijken en dan op voorhand aan te geven/bestellen wat je graag zou willen. Zijn niet altijd even klantvriendelijk. Daar valt zeker nog wat aan bij te schafen. Hebben geen geduld bij het opnemen van je bestelling.

This is actually a hidden gem in Twente. If you come when it's quiet and you've made a reservation, this is a place worth at least 4.5 stars. You can certainly enjoy delicious food and tea/coffee here! And the view is beautiful. When it is busy, the service is less hospitable and also a bit awkward. We sat down at a table that was apparently a 'smoking table', which was not clear to us. Actually we couldn't be served, but we were, only for coffee/tea, but not too much (?); so unclear. It does not give a welcome feeling. I've had it twice now and that's a shame, it doesn't do justice to the potential of this place.

You are obliged to choose the same type of tea together. Snacks are fine. Service messy and not very hospitable.
