They have some of the most delicious pizzas in Alkmaar. Best part in my opinion is you can get the smaller sized pizza which more than filling. The drinks bit was more self-service, so this is something to take note of. Excellent service and great staff. Highly recommended for good Italian pizza in Alkmaar.

A nice place to experience something different from “normal dining out” for a change. You can grab your own drinks from the fridge, and the staff will settle the bill. Nice atmosphere, like going back to your childhood a little. It really is a place to go with children. The staff was friendly and enthusiastic, and the food was fine. Overall, a fun and unique experience at Thup’s.

Pizzas were tasty, the service could really use a little Italian chili 🌶️ and it is just not clean inside at all. Drinks expensive (can €6.50) It really used to be a lot better, too bad

Our regular place to order pizzas. These are real Italian pizzas because of the thin base and delicious fresh ingredients. Definitely recommended! It's a shame that it has become so pricey and that you no longer deliver to Sint Pancras as standard.

Thups turned out to be a real surprise. Honestly, I had the best gluten-free pizza here that I've ever found in the Netherlands. The dough is homemade and the toppings were super nicely presented. The vibe was really cozy, so you could actually sit back and talk in peace. Besides the delicious pizza, the service was incredibly warm and welcoming. I’m definitely coming back before my vacation ends! Only downer: They were out of vegan cheese. Fingers crossed it's available next time. If that’s a hit, I can totally recommend this spot!

The food was disappointing. We ordered spaghetti carbonara and a salami pizza. The bacon in the spaghetti had a very strong, burnt flavor and had to be removed. The bacon also made the spaghetti dark brown. The garlic, egg, and Parmesan cheese were missing. The pizza dough was also partially burnt around the edges. The service was friendly and attentive. We would not visit Loksl again.

We hadn't set out to eat pizza, but as we walked past the restaurant, the people dining on the terrace and the blue facade caught our eye. The pizzas were delicious, made with quality ingredients. And as a bonus, the self-service drinks offered a wide selection of local beers (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and other premium beverages.

What a lovely place! My daughter and I had dinner here tonight and we felt welcome immediately. The reception was warm, the staff friendly, and the atmosphere here is just perfect. From the decor and the music to the indoor and outdoor seating areas and even the restroom: everywhere you can see that everything has been worked on with care and love. My goat cheese salad was delicious, and my daughter's salami pizza was, as always, unsurpassed. But what makes this place extra special is the lovely, relaxed atmosphere. This attracts nice guests, and it feels like everything here is just right. A beautiful, unique concept, delicious food, and incredibly hospitable people. We will be back here very soon. The pizzas are delicious. The service, however, is poor. Ordered multiple times (for pickup). They are only made when you arrive and they simply make you wait. Furthermore, there is nowhere to sit. The decor is also messy and does not look inviting.

The atmosphere was cute and the server was great. It did take around an hour to get our food though and we were pretty hungry The restaurant only had a few tables being occupied. My bolognese could have used a bit more spice, otherwise the rest of our party liked their food. The biggest drawback was the wait time for our food!

Definitely one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten: the Ippolito is absolutely divine, with a perfectly cooked sauce and a thin, crispy crust. The service was lovely. The atmosphere is a bit lounge-like with games available and a nice decor. Go without hesitation!

Delicious pizzas in an unusual setting and experience. Choose your own drink.

A very disappointing experience. We had a reservation, sat down, and had to wait 15 minutes for our drinks to be served, and another 15 minutes for our wine. The bread platter beforehand was nothing special: a small roll with a bottle of olive oil and a salt shaker. Then it took an hour and 15 minutes for the six pizzas to be served. All the pizzas were cold: lukewarm crusts, cold toppings, and mozzarella that tasted like it had just come out of the refrigerator. Unacceptable for a pizzeria. Because of the long wait, we didn't have time to ask if the pizzas could be put back in the oven, as we had to go to a theater performance. Conclusion: long wait and cold food. Not recommended 🍕❌

Ordered a delicious company lunch from Thups. Personally delivered and simply very well organized. Everything was super fresh and delicious. We will definitely order again!

Okay, look, I get it, the chicken has gotten a bit more expensive, but if I order extra chicken, it's a bit meager, isn't it? Open the box, and I thought it had fallen off, but unfortunately, I was completely blown away. Otherwise, it's fine.

Visited on Thurs afternoon during a trip from Ireland for the Shelbourne game. Excellent pizza, nice beer and friendly staff! Highly recommend visiting.

I ordered pizza yesterday. The pizzas were cold, one pizza was completely missing the plant-based mozzarella, and there was only tomato sauce on the pizza (even though plant-based mozzarella costs extra). There were only two slices of anchovies on the entire pizza, even though we had ordered extra anchovies. Such a shame, as we usually enjoy ordering from here.

I ordered food here for the first time this week. Pasta puttanesca and a roll with herb butter. Both were truly delicious; I'd happily eat this more often. But for €15 just for the pasta, I expected a bit more. Luckily, I ordered a roll with it, otherwise I wouldn't have been full. It's a shame that for a fairly simple pasta that costs €15, they give you a portion that I wouldn't pay more than €8 for.

The atmosphere is lovely. The pizza is very good, thin and crispy. The salad is very tasty and has a unique taste. There are many drinks to choose from.

Just what Alkmaar needs! After being surprised several times by the quality of the pizzas delivered to my home, I dined here for the first time with a friend. The welcome was incredibly warm, with clear explanations about the drinks, which I could help myself to. A high, atmospheric table by the open kitchen. Great! And the quality of the products and service were perfect! A wonderful dining experience for a small price. A place to visit often. I'm a fan!

We had pizza here again at the end of October. We've been here several times over the past year and a half. We feel like the quality of the food fluctuates quite a bit. This time, for example, the ham was quite tough, almost impossible to cut through with a pizza cutter. But we've also had two really good pizzas. During our last two visits, children were constantly running around the restaurant making a lot of noise. Neither the parents nor the staff said anything about this. It didn't make our dinner any more enjoyable. Thup's is good for a quick pizza, but we wouldn't recommend it for a relaxed dinner yet.

For me, these are the best pizzas in Alkmaar and the surrounding area. No standard toppings, just genuine quality, and you can really taste the care and attention they put into the dough. It's easy to choose your own drink from the beer and soft drinks corner, with lots of great options and also some delicious alternatives. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere complete the experience. Also suitable for groups. In short, highly recommended!

A cool pizzeria with industrial charm, featuring self-service drinks (beer and soft drinks), and, as far as we could see, wine with service. The pizza was incredibly delicious, with a thin, crispy base and fresh toppings. We were very impressed.

Excellent pizzas! I think I've ordered pizza there four times now and picked it up twice. All six times I asked if they could cut it. Six times they didn't. Also, there's often an ingredient missing from the pizzas, which is a shame! Don't make it possible to leave comments if you don't read them anyway... Sliced pizzas are handy, though, if you're eating it on a boat, for example. 😅

There was a really cool selection of drinks. There were also several vegan options, and dogs are allowed in the shop. The service and the food were really great overall. I'd love to go back :)

Not very special, it was on the table quickly. But unfortunately that was also to taste, staff was friendly but forgot almost everything you asked. Also the bass on the speakers is bizarre

A disastrous experience. Apart from two other guests, we were the only ones in the restaurant – yet we still had to wait 5-7 minutes for the menu. Two young waitresses stood at the bar, making jokes and talking instead of attending to the service. The wait for our pasta was extremely long, and when it finally arrived, it tasted of absolutely nothing. No salt, no seasoning – I had to ask for salt and pepper and was laughed at. Even after adding more seasoning four times, there was no taste. Apparently, nothing is tasted in the kitchen. The highlight: A caterer brought their own food to the chefs. That really says it all – when even the staff doesn't want to eat their own food. We had to wait another long time to pay because all the waitresses were sitting together eating. Overall, completely unprofessional – we certainly won't be back.

The pizza was bland and not very tasty, and the crust was very wide and unfilled. Update I had a Margherita pizza, which tasted bland and lacked flavor, and the crust was very wide and dry. I had one at Vito's yesterday, which was much better, and the drinks were brought to the table. But that's a matter of taste.

We had a very nice and delicious stay here. The pizzas were excellent and the recommended red wine was very good.

Super delicious food and very friendly staff

Ate a gluten-free vegan pizza here this week. The pizza tasted pretty good, although it had a slightly chemical aftertaste. The ordered paprika was unfortunately not on the pizza and would have been removed from the bill. This had not happened and had to be corrected afterwards when I checked this on the bill.

The four of us had dinner here and we were all very enthusiastic. The atmosphere is very cozy with a nice mix of high and low tables. A nice detail is the "corner" where you can get your own drinks - all brands and flavors that you don't easily encounter in the Netherlands. The starters were all delicious and of good quality. And then the pizzas... really delicious :-D Thup's is highly recommended if you are looking for a good and tasty pizza place in Alkmaar!

When we arrived the restaurant was completely full, only room was left outside. The waitress kindly indicated that we could have a drink outside and, as soon as there was room, move inside for dinner. The weather was nice so we stayed outside. Because of how busy it was, we assumed we would have to wait a long time for our food. However, our food was ready very quickly! The food was tasty and the service friendly.

Great Italian food you can truly taste it. The only place that has better Italian food is in Italy.

Had a very good pizza in this cozy restaurant. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service was very friendly. Nice to choose something yourself in the refrigerator with all kinds of unknown drinks. Highly recommended!

3:15 To receive two pizzas? If the restaurant is busy, close the delivery app, but don't let a person wait more than 3 hours for 2 pizzas. That was the last time I bought from here.

Nice pizza/pasta place. Decoration is nicely done, cozy, informal seating. Lots of choice in pizzas and vegetarians and vegans have also been catered for! (Back of the menu) Getting drinks is self-service, but there are no prices listed, so when we paid we saw that the non-alcoholic drink we had was €5.50. In addition, the mint tea also cost €4. Friendly staff and a pleasant evening.

The first acquaintance, but not the last

It is already the fourth time that our food has been ready very late. Much longer than they indicate. This time it's really done. Pizza was not delivered, eventually I indicated that I would pick it up myself, it would supposedly be ready within 3 minutes, but I ended up waiting in the store again for 25 minutes. 1.5 hours for a few pizzas. Ridiculous. Staff is also arrogant, acts as if you are not there, makes lame excuses and is mainly concerned with themselves. Very unfortunate, we will not order anymore.

Good pizzas although a bit thin on the toppings. 75 percent of the pizzas that come out of the kitchen have some form of burning. Waiting a very long time to order and then forgetting to bring the starter. Ended up having to wait an hour for the pizza to arrive. Then I had to wait another fifteen minutes for my wine to be poured. So a lot of waiting while I came to eat. Staff almost nice but also a hint of arrogance. Especially if you have expressed dissatisfaction, this will be reflected in the approach. This was once but not again. Then a little less hip and more old-fashioned. In any case, go to a restaurant where you don't have to wait as long and are treated really warmly. This is not the case with Thuos.

Regarding delivery. Ordered 2 pizzas. These would be delivered within an hour at the latest. Not very fast, but ok. After an hour no pizzas, the site said they were still being prepared. Called, pizza would be there in fifteen minutes. After half an hour still nothing, so I called again. Pizza was supposed to be on its way. Finally, after almost 2 hours (!), the 2 pizzas were delivered: lukewarm/cold. Extremely poor service and when I called I didn't get the feeling that it made much difference to them. Not worth repeating unfortunately...

Let me first say, they make delicious brick oven pizzas! I am not pleased with their service. We wanted to go for a walk before eating and asked if we could come back after 30 minutes to eat, no problem of course. We came back, then they discussed for 10 minutes where we were going to place ourselves. Perhaps this was due to the experience of the young staff. When we got a table it took 15 minutes before someone came to our table with the menu, then we were told that we could get our own drinks. They should/could have said that earlier.... Unfortunately, the draft door was open for much of the evening, which made it very drafty in the shop. Hip place, gave a bit of Berlin vibes. At the beginning they also had a small shop where you could buy a gift. Too bad, many things could have been prevented or adjusted.

Love this place so much we did it two evenings in a row. The pizza is gorgeous and the selection of beverages is excellent with a unique help yourself situation. Recommended - especially if you like relaxed places with a resident cat 😁

Many original organic products. The dough for the gluten-free pizza is homemade. That's a relief after all the pizzarias in Alkmaar that use ready-made (free range) bases. Delicious and value for money. The regular pizza was also very tasty. Now add organic meat and it will become a 🌟Pizzeria. Highly recommended for food conscious people who are also looking for fun.

What happened Thom, from a pizza 10+ to a 4- €73 for 4 pizzas used to be definitely worth it. Now honestly the taste and the base is below mediocre.

It's a bit complicated to rate this place. It has a service concept where people choose their drinks from the fridge, choose the glass and bring everything to the table. A concept I don't agree with, but still chosen by the company. You either appreciate it or you don't. Perhaps an additional card describing the beers/drinks would allow the customer to decide at the table what type of drinks to consume without having to go to the fridge and read the labels on the bottles! The pizzas are small. crunchy but in our case little taste. Certainly not Italian style if anyone was wondering. A gourmet pizza that needs improvement, this is my opinion. I ordered a pizza that used taleggio cheese, but the taste I found was due to the use of brie cheese. The rating for the quality of the pizza is quite low. The service is virtually non-existent. The girls in charge of the room could not understand the reason for my request for clarification on the use of a different cheese than on the menu. They had no knowledge whatsoever of the contents of the ingredients that made up the individual pizzas. Our table was next to the crates of drinks and the appearance of the honor room was generally confused and without a precise and defined personality or style.

looks unassuming from the outside but is a little gem on the inside! I love the green and gold of the decor and the pizza is absolutely to die for. The crust is thin and crispy, straight from the oven, which is a prominent feature in the restaurant! The drinks are self-serve and there's a nice selection of soft drinks, specialty beers, and wines. The service is friendly and personal and theres a few games to play while you wait. Will absolutely eat here again and recommend it to friends!
