I've ordered food here before, and it's always delicious. This time, I thought I'd order a layer cake. For €2.75 each. I have to say, I find it a shamefully small piece. I'm used to something different from other Asian stores.

Nice place, friendly staff, food nothing special. I wouldn't order takeout from here again; there are better places.

Had a rijsttafel for 2 pers 49.50... 2 skewers of satay with a tiny bit of satay sauce, 4 satay sauce balls, there was hardly any sauce, what we got was not worth 49.50 so little... and what we did get all tasted the same once but not anymore.

Delicious Surinamese roti, fresh and flavorful. The people here are friendly, warm, and genuinely helpful. No aloof service, but human contact; genuine attention, a smile, and time for a chat. You can tell they work hard, yet the atmosphere remains relaxed. The shop is clean, tidy, and tastefully decorated: Focus on good food and great service. If you're in doubt: just go. I can absolutely recommend this Toko. I picked up their flyers and will be distributing them in our new building. Two more blocks of new buildings will be completed soon, so perhaps it would be a good idea to put a flyer in everyone's mailboxes in the future. I regularly (2 x per month) got rotti from Aunt Annie and it was delicious. I recently got rotti from the new owner once and I found it did not match the quality of Aunt Annie and it was not tasty either, so it was the last time I got rotti here.

We had a vegetarian and regular ramas for four people. We all loved it, and there was plenty of food!

Hello dears! Tonight, September 21, 2025, we got food from the successor(s), of Toko Tante Annie in Heerhugowaard. But unfortunately, they don't live up to the name Tante Annie. When it was still truly Tante Annie's, the food was incredibly delicious. But unfortunately, the food we got tonight was... Really cold and extremely dry. A real shame. We won't be going back. P.S. The staff is incredibly friendly.

I deleted my first review of Annie's because it was acquired. When I visited during the acquisition phase, the new owners said they learned everything from Annie's. Today, I went. The atmosphere that used to be there is gone. The display case was only half full of what it used to be. The roti has also really deteriorated. I feel like the business wasn't taken over as it was. Everything is different and less delicious. I miss Annie's so much; the food was always fantastic... After 10 years, no more Annie's for me.

I got chicken roti here for the first time today. Delicious, authentic Hindustani flavor! Large portion. The roti plate is also wonderfully tender and filled with yellow rice. Not overfilled, but just right. Tip: make the chicken roti with thigh fillet; it stays juicier, and serve it with pepper and/or sour sauce on the side. Highly recommended in terms of flavor! I dare say, as a bakara (white person) who grew up in the Surinamese/Indian Hindustani culture.

Unfortunately, it's much less tasty than the roti from the previous owner. The chicken was way too salty, and the distinctive flavor is gone. There's also a different sour taste. No, we won't be ordering that again. The rijsttafel (rice table) is also different, of lower quality. The beef was tough, and there was no satay sauce. Everything is much more expensive. Unfortunately, we won't be going there again.

Unfortunately, the food isn't what it used to be. The new owner has taken a new approach to cooking. Unfortunately, the selection has shrunk considerably. Today I picked up two rotis from Aunt Annie, which used to be the best in the region. I don't want to say it was bad, because that would be a lie, but it lacked the old finesse. The potatoes were a bit bland, and the meat was very salty. And we missed the curry and shrimp paste flavors. Perhaps the new chef still needs to find his groove.

After 22 years, we finally had delicious roti again! We had a blast! The flavors really came together! Keep it up!

Got a mini Rijstafel today for €24.50. I think it's a real shame they took it over. If you're used to Tante Annie, this is nothing. The meat itself was good, but the mixed vegetables and green beans lacked flavor. Gado-gado wasn't great either. Can't compare to Annie's. I always enjoyed getting food there, but I definitely won't be buying this again. Also, the food was practically cold. (I ordered it hot.)

It's not as good as it used to be. I also find it childish to read in the other reviews that Annie is being blamed. She has always delivered quality, and you're suggesting she doesn't anymore? Take responsibility and just admit you can't deliver on the quality, but don't blame Annie. It's a bit pathetic.

I got a delicious meal at Toko Annie, and they used to serve Indonesian dishes, according to the previous owner. But now they're under new ownership, and they also serve Surinamese food. So I had to try it out, and I have to be honest, I went in and found the atmosphere fantastic, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The food I received was, in a word, truly amazing! I had such a delicious meal, I'm now a regular customer and I highly recommend Toko Annie to everyone.

I miss the old Aunt Annie! The atmosphere is different, the smells are different, the food is different, less flavorful, more pepper, and especially more potatoes... tasty, but definitely not Aunt Annie's 10.

Yuck, The Asian restaurant has been taken over, and unfortunately, it's not good. We had a rijsttafel (rice table) for two. Now it's just one base, not two. I chose nasi kuning, which was very bland; half the rice wasn't cooked properly. The mild tofu was very sour, the spicy tofu was okay. The satay tempeh was overly sweet. I don't want to comment on the vegetable of the day; I couldn't finish a single bite. The green beans were spicy, but also flavorless. Finally, the gado gado, which didn't come with any sauce; half the vegetables were cooked, the rest weren't. We all really liked the peanut sauce, but I made it at home, so that's probably the cause. Now to cook it myself...

There's relatively little variety, but what you do get is delicious. Dishes are prepared WITHOUT spiciness. Spicy is also really spicy, so keep that in mind if you're not used to it.

I took one bite but never again; it's also clear they're not Indo. Nasi is usually a bit lighter, but this one was full of soy sauce. The so-called rendang was rock hard and had to fight with the food. The store had just opened, and nothing had been prepared yet. I took one bite and threw the rest straight in the trash. A waste of money.

After many recommendations and nothing is less true. Really delicious food of good quality! You pay a little more than at some comparable shops but it is worth it. The only disadvantage I can name is that I had to wait a long time. There was 1 person before me but all together including warming up the meal I sat there for at least 20-25 minutes. That could be a bit faster and I am curious how it will go when there are more customers. But I will definitely come back!

Had food delivered for the 2nd time last night. This time with 9 of us. Everyone really enjoyed it and it was more than enough. Today we can enjoy the leftovers ourselves. We ordered 2 duo rice tables and 1 vegetable + 1 meat dish for 9 people. Everyone scooped it up several times and still had some left over. Really fantastic.

Delicious roti eaten here tonight. Good taste big portion definitely worth the money. You can order but also sit inside very nice and cozy decorated. Good service and fast the food on the table. If you are ever in the area I would not skip toko tante annie

€45 for two roti and 2 cans of drink. Too expensive for the food quality. The roti was too dry and the potatoes were not fresh.

Very nice store to get food. In any case, the rotti is excellent. Other dishes will be good too. About that later. You can just see that it is good. But it can sometimes be busy and you have to wait in line for half an hour.

Delicious authentic Indonesian food.

The flavors were good but the meat was not tender. Rendang should be very tender, but the pieces were hard, as was the chicken soy sauce. Very unfortunate. I was ashamed because I had Indonesian family visiting.

The food is always very tasty at Aunt Annie's. Highly recommended if you like Indonesian food.

Very tasty, lots to choose from and I appreciate that the person taking my order walks around the counter to hand over everyone's food. The interior is also very reminiscent of the cuisine's origin, which is a nice touch.

Fantastic! Of all the shops I've been to, this is really the best. So incredibly delicious. What I also like; ingredients are varied. A sign of a real chef. And also dishes that you cannot find at any other store. A dish with kale, Javanese style. Where else do you see that? And then suddenly, there are sprouts. Tasty too! The people who work here love the food, you can taste it 👌. Love it

One of the few shops (Sumatran cuisine) where the food is so fantastic: sajor lodeh, rendang, chicken terriyaki, oera pan, chicken curry, satay, noodles, tempeh and bean curd dishes and much more. I came to live here in HHW from Amsterdam more than 3 years ago and this store is the bomb!! Lovely people, good service and the counter with the dishes looks super neat!

Always good food, I'm happy to drive the 40 minutes there.

Delicious Indian... Sumatran... not cheap but tasty. Oh well, and once a month if you are lazy and don't want to cook, then this store is recommended.

Delicious food, often picked up, but when I wanted to order again I was shocked by the prices. Not a little increase, but bizarre. There may be reasons, but unfortunately it is no longer affordable for me. Shame. Update: just checked to see if anything has changed, but I fear it is even more expensive. I wonder if perhaps a mistake was made. I think the senior menu was 7 euros, now double that.

Delicious food, both the well-known Indonesian dishes and Dutch vegetables made in a Sumatran way. Super friendly service. Highly recommended!

Heerlijk vers eten! De heerlijke roti smaakt altijd erg goed. Lieve mensen in de keuken

Super lekker eten, echt heel hoge kwaliteit. (Update 2022) Al jaren niet meer besteld maar zie nu dat de 1 persoons rijstafel geen 18 euro meer kost maar meer dan 30! En de medium ramas meer dan 20! Dat is echt wel een beetje absurd. Ik kan dus onmogelijk de review op 5 sterren laten staan. Een 1 persoons maaltijd voor een 2 persoon prijs is het gewoon niet waard. Ook al was het eten lekker, prijs kwaliteit verhouding slaat nergens meer op.

Heerlijk Indonesisch eten, zeker het proberen waard. En vergeet niet de boerenkool (ja, boerenkool bij een toko) mee te nemen, die is heerlijk. Maarja, dat is eigenlijk alles.

Niet gekregen wat besteld. Telefoon werd niet opgenomen ivm drukte. Eten is wel altijd goed hier. Deze keer pech.

Toko tante Annie is een echte aanrader. Het is zo goed dat ik zelfs de smaken herkende. Het eten heel goed en de prijs kwaliteit is correct. Ik heb een Indonesische rijsttafel voor 1 persoon gekocht. Alles van vers en heerlijk van smaak. Je kunt hier prima gratis parkeren. Je kunt hier alleen afhalen. Of laten bezorgen. De bediening is vriendelijk! Zeker een aanrader!

Uitstekend eten. Zelfs groentes waar ik niet van hou maken ze heerlijk klaar. En het vlees, goddelijk. 10/10 would recommend

Ja dat is een geweldige tent met hele lieve mensen. Hebben een keer een bedrijfsbuffet bij hun geregeld en dat was ook zo volledig en met aandacht. Elke keer als we er komen een warme ontvangst. Echte aanrader en bezorgen persoonlijk ook in Heerhugowaard!

Altijd lekker eten afgehaald. Alleen de laatste tijd toch erg achteruit gegaan. Veel vet in het vlees, de bami droog en smaakloos. Ook nog eens veel duurder geworden. De porties kleiner. Helaas niet meer mijn favoriete toko. Jammer tante Annie

Zo heerlijk klaar gemaakt. Een waarschuwing vooraf: alle gerechten zijn het proeven waard. Maak vooraf een weloverwogen keuze!!!

Heerlijke vegetarische rijsttafel besteld voor mijn verjaardag. Wij hebben met 15 man heerlijke gegeten. Er was genoeg variatie. De meenste eten niet vegetarisch maar vonden de tempé en de tofu erg smaakvol. Wij hadden de rijsttafel zelf opgehaald. Het zat keurig in bakken verpakt in een grote termobox. Zeker een aanrader! Dank je wel Annie dat je ook op jouw verjaardag voor mij hebt gekookt!

Goed eten en betaalbaar, vriendelijk personeel.
