Very beautiful place, spacious and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the atmosphere as well. It really felt we were somewhere in Italy. The staff were very friendly and polite. The food was delicious. We took pasta carbonara and lasagna, both with truffels. Also, we couldn't leave without desserts. Panna cotta and tiramisu were just as perfect!

We had made a reservation—which is absolutely necessary—and were warmly welcomed and escorted to our table. The menu was on a tablet, which worked perfectly. The service was helpful and friendly. We ordered Tuscan antipasti, beef tenderloin, and pork cheek. The food: fantastic! A lovely wine paired with it, and... pure enjoyment! The only downside was the noise: it was very noisy, but... we'll definitely be back!

Enjoyed this restaurant a lot. The people working there are very nice and gives a bit of Italian feel. The bill ended up being pretty high, as the seasonal dishes were a bit overpriced (imho), but was delicious.

We had an amazing experience at this Italian restaurant! The Pizza Toscanella and Pasta Amatriciana were absolutely delicious. The place was quite busy, but honestly, that just shows how popular it must be, and for good reason. Despite the crowd, the service was excellent. Most of the staff are Italian, which adds a really authentic and welcoming atmosphere. They were friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for great Italian food and warm hospitality, this is definitely a spot worth visiting!

Beautiful restaurant, great location, friendly service from an English-speaking young man. Very nice background music, but it was interrupted by the owner's daughter with her laptop. Delicious dishes, good wines, but small portions and steep prices. A table of four passed us and left after waiting an hour. Dear owner, solve such a problem with a basket of bread and some spreads on the house! Hospitality, a profession that doesn't incur any extra costs. How did you enjoy it? Thank you and goodbye, or hold the door open for departing guests. As a guest, I felt completely unappreciated. A missed opportunity, unfortunately. We won't be back.

We had a wonderful lunch today! The focaccias were exquisite. Fresh ingredients on homemade bread. Served with a delicious wine. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The service is also worth mentioning; the young waiter had to work hard on his own, but he did a truly fantastic job.

This is our second time here. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and when the restaurant is a bit busier, it feels very cozy.

Delicious, fresh, homemade meals with plenty of choice. Prepared and served with passion and a lovely wine. The lighting could be a bit more intimate, and the decor is a bit chilly, but the delicious dishes more than compensate.

We were a large group of 12. It was incredibly crowded inside, making it warm and noisy, but that was actually quite cozy. The food was delicious. For our starters, we had the table filled with all sorts of appetizers (meat, fish, and vegetarian). Then we had a delicious pizza. The pasta dishes were also very popular. Highly recommended.

I never really write reviews, but this was truly bizarre. We had a reservation for 8:30 PM. We arrived at 8:05 PM and were (understandably) told we were early and that our table was still occupied. But that it would definitely be available for us at 8:30 PM. We then returned at 8:32 PM to find that another customer at our reserved table was being served a full glass of wine. We were told it would take two minutes, but you wouldn't pour someone a full glass of wine if you expected them to leave the restaurant within two minutes. In short, there was no respect for our reserved time. The reason we made a reservation was because we had an appointment afterward. Fortunately, we were greeted with a smile at their competitor, "Quattro Mori," and we were still able to enjoy a delicious dinner there. We contacted Toscanella afterward about the incident, and she told us that "it was due to our upbringing." Having the courage to say that to your customers shows what kind of restaurant you truly are, and that respect and customer service are definitely not on your list of manners. So, if you're looking for an Italian restaurant where you'll be treated with respect and as a decent customer, definitely find another restaurant like "Quattro Mori."

Now, let's talk about the food: it's legendary, delicious, and a visual feast. It's a place with well-balanced plates and happy customers, but I found the place to be a bit sloppy.

2-3 table of guests . First of all I was waiting super long for a cart . Then waiter was serving all the tables , even new guests arriving after me. But not me . I left the restaurant without trying food. I understand when it’s busy . But the place was almost empty…

We went for a family dinner. Honestly, I wasn't expecting a memorable experience, considering it's an Italian restaurant in Holland. But I was wrong! We tried the pizzas, and they were truly excellent, with a thin, crispy crust. I tried the "Pizza Nera," made with a dough that also includes a little charcoal (hence the color), which was truly original and tasty. Thanks to Andrea, who gave us great advice and was attentive and kind throughout the evening. We'll do it again.

The "Toscanella Aquana" is an absolute must for Italian cuisine. The menu(s) are served via tablet, so you can browse the wine list, the regular menu, and the changing specialty menu. The service is very attentive, and the ordered dishes arrive relatively quickly. The view into the kitchen is lovely. Prices range widely depending on the order(s). Reservations are essential, as the restaurant seems to always be full.

Booking went smoothly. Upon arrival, the restaurant was well-stocked, which is a great bonus. The service was very quick and friendly. The two of us had a lovely meal here. The reason for the 4 stars for ambiance is that the granite tables are quite large for two and feel rather cold and bare without a tablecloth. We will definitely return on our next visit to Maastricht.

Quality dishes, with friendly professional service

There was no one who could explain exactly what it was. The pizza had a hard crust on the outside and was 2-3 millimeters thick in the middle, and it was watery.

Nice setting and fast service, but my al pomodoro pasta was undercooked (same for a friend) and no it was not al dente. It needed at least 2-3 mins to reach the al dente stage. The portion was tiny for €15. As someone who cooks Italian food and knows good pasta, this was disappointing. No one asked for feedback when paying. The iPad menu felt impersonal. I’d recommend Paletti instead.

Really had a fantastic evening at Toscanella, the host was fabulous. Great recommendations for Chardonnay was perfect. Food was great and offered a solid variety.

Loved the place and the staff. The food we ate was fantastic. We ordered pasta as first course, steaks as second. Top of the cherry the amazing tiramisu. We really enjoyed. It was a bit hot in the restaurant as a negative.

Delicious food. Excellently prepared, nice aldente pasta, nice medium-rare steak, with vegetables and fried potatoes. The place was nicely full, large beautiful marble tables, very heavy. The acoustics could use some work.

Unfortunately an atmosphereless and noisy Italian restaurant that is in need of a renovation and where the price-quality ratio is hard to find. As a starter antipasti platter where we were shocked by the small size for 40 euros. As a main course pasta with truffle, unfortunately little taste to the sauce and rather undercooked than al dente. As dessert teramisu, this was very tasty! Apart from the mentioned poor price-quality ratio we found the staff very friendly but there are much better Italian restaurants in Maastricht so we would certainly not come back again.

Very nice! Arriving late at the hotel, we were recommended this restaurant. Typical Italian dishes, we preferred the pesto pasta and the parmiggiana to the pizzas (which are very nice, though, it's a matter of taste! 😉). Super friendly, multilingual staff, great for us poor French people 😉 Good prices too. Anyway, we were recommended this restaurant; we haven't tried any other restaurants in Maastricht, but this one is very good 😀

The food was not as good as before the anti pasta was not of good quality Limochello was offered but it was not mentioned that it was 8 euros per glass, while it was stated that this was free as a customer service

Toscanella Apuana serves what is, without question, my favorite pizza in Maastricht. Like, chef’s kiss levels of crispy, chewy, tomatoey perfection. The pasta? Well… depends. Some dishes are a little too enthusiastic with the oil—like the chef is trying to personally fund the olive industry. As for the service: efficient. Very efficient. In the sense that the waiter starts cleaning your table the second your fork hits the plate, with the subtle energy of “please leave now.” It’s like dining in Italy, if Italy were in a hurry to close. Still, I’ll keep going back—for the pizza and the emotional thrill of eating under mild time pressure.

Een zeer goede Italiaan die meer dan alleen pizza serveert. Neem ook de moeite om de pasta’s te bekijken en vooral de specialiteiten. Ik had de lasagne met truffel die was werkelijk goddelijk! Ook de desserts waren niet de afgezaagde dingen maar heerlijke desserts met liefde bereid.

In my opinion some reviews were written by close friends who probably did not come to eat..... So, I even left a tip.. But we didn't finish either dish. Not bad but really very average in quality...hard to believe that chefs are in the kitchen.

This time I got a takeaway pizza. Ordered a glass of red wine while waiting. Glass base for the price of € 9.50.... Perhaps useful to provide insight into a price list for the drinks.

I went to eat here with friends, one had 1 pizza and 1 person had pasta carbonara, and I had pasta pesto, to start with the pasta portions were much too small, we finished them within 3 bites, and the pizza was whole but really very thin, just as thin as a sheet of paper and it was not tasty either, they offered us water twice and we said 2 twice and they gave it to us anyway and that cost 7 euros, the bread we got with the pasta was also not at all tasty but we ate it to fill us up a bit.

Comimos allí dos veces durante nuestra semana en Maastricht y encontramos tanto la comida y el servicio para ser de primera categoría. Pasta una noche y pizza la otra. Ambos estaban perfectamente hechos y muy sabrosos. El servicio fue uniformemente excelente. Muy recomendable.

Went here for dinner after a tip from a colleague. What a nice shop... a real Italian with many products straight from their region. The dishes were perfect. The Tagliata with truffle and fried egg is a winner. Not to mention the panna cotta with pistachio cream.

Na jaren niet meer bij Toscanella te zijn geweest, afgelopen vrijdag wezen eten met vrienden. Ik herkende de zaak niet meer, niet qua eten maar ook niet qua sfeer. Het systeemplafond helpt natuurlijk niet bij die beleving. Het geheel heeft veel weg van een bedrijfskantine. Het personeel was overigens wel vriendelijk, de kaart(en) in digitale vorm niet. Heel onoverzichtelijk waardoor je moeite hebt voor jezelf een passend menu samen te stellen. Uiteindelijk wel gelukt, maar het viel serieus tegen. Zeer aan de prijs, en thuis koken we beter en lekkerder en dat verwacht je niet, althans wij niet. Ik twijfelde even tussen 2 en 3 sterren, maar ook door tegenvalllende rekening van 340 euro voor 4 personen kan ik niet meer dan 2 sterren geven helaas.

Eerlijk waar de beste spaghetti die ik gegeten heb. Laatste keer was in een Michelinrestaurant in Sardinië (dat ik zo’n kwaliteit spaghetti gegeten heb). En mijn vriendin had de risotto (vaak erg machtig) en die was ook SUPER! Volgende dag teruggekomen voor hun foccaccia: ook absoluut heerlijk! (Koekjes bij de koffie errrrrrg droog ha ha ha 😆). . . . .Als ik in Maastricht zou wonen, zat ik er elke week!

There is really a lot of exaggeration going on. It kinda surprises me. It's all quite basic. We waited a long time for our main course. The ingredients that were supposed to be in the pasta were not recognizable. The price quality is not in proportion. The service is also very friendly. Due to the mostly positive reviews, the owner has started to believe in himself a little too much. (Doubts about very exaggerated positive reviews)

Very nice italian restaurant in the heart of Maastricht. I had a very hummy pruscetta and pizza crudo / macarpone. My gf had a very nice lasagne. All was fresh and tasted great 👍

Very good experience and totally recommended for special occasions or for times you want to taste well made typical Italian dishes with some nice twists. The place has been recently renovated and it looks very elegant and welcoming. Every dish served was tasty, rich and delicious. Especially the Carbonara tartufata was a explosion of flavors. Also, Giacopo was super friendly with us and asked for special treatment for my pregnant wife that was also celebrating her birthday. We had as secondo a tagliatelle, but to be safe they divided it and made two dishes with different cooking points so tat both of us can enjoy it in a safe way. Lastly, they made us a special swan figure with candles to sing happy birthday. This was so sweet and beautiful. This place offers the best pasta dishes and Italian style meat I've tried in the city.

In an attractive Italian restaurant you would expect a beautifully designed paper menu rather than a screen. In addition, the lighting is anything but cozy – bright and cold, making it feel more like a factory hall than a cozy dining establishment. In summary: fantastic food and top service, but the ambiance can definitely be improved to complete the experience.

Met vrienden hier begin deze maand gaan eten en het eten is goed bevallen. Maar we hebben ook wat minpuntjes: Qua inrichting hadden we het gevoel in een keuken te zitten, veel licht, dus dat was even wennen. Door demping van het licht zou het al een stuk aangenamer zijn. Verder vonden we het niet prettig dat er tussen de tafeltjes in mensen stonden die bestellingen kwamen ophalen. De bruscetta die was geweldig, zelfs in Italië nooit lekkerder gehad dan hier. De pizza idem, de beste in de regio en de tagliata; uit de kunst! De tiramisu vonden we tegenvallen. Als voorgerecht vroegen we of er wat verschillende gerechtjes geserveerd konden worden en alhoewel ons wel gezegd werd wat ze voorstelden en alles ook erg lekker was, vonden we het toch niet kunnen om dan gerechten ter waarde van € 109 als voorgerecht te serveren. Daar hadden ze ons wel van op de hoogte mogen brengen en niet pas als je de rekening krijgt.

Wij hadden een tafel van 5 personen. Opnemen bestelling en uitserveren drankje ging prima. Alleen het tegelijkertijd uitserveren van de gerechten was een drama. Eerste hadden het bord al leeg terwijl de laatste nog niets hadden. Ravioli met truffel: totaal smakeloze truffel, leek wel kurk. Hele gerecht was daardoor een ramp. Heel jammer….

Prima gerechten, ietsje stevig aan de prijs, maar kwalitatief goed. Verder: chaotisch, klein en dicht op elkaar. Let op dat je je eindafrekening goed controleert, wij kregen de wijntjes van de buurtafel op de rekening. Te laat gezien, dus geen verhaal meer. U bent gewaarschuwd.

We hadden ‘s avonds gebeld of ze nog een plaatsje hadden voor 2. Niks meer. Toch langsgegaan en geprobeerd, het was er erg druk maar hadden toch nog een plaatsje voor 2. Hebben meer dan 20’ moeten wachten vooraleer ze bestelling kwamen opnemen en nadien nog een dik half uur moeten wachten op ons eten. Het kwam dan ook nog niet gelijktijdig. Pasta was niet ver genoeg gegaard en niet al te warm.. jammer want de smaak was subliem. Wij hadden nadien allebei nog honger (ik ben écht niet de grootste eter) maar het was echt te weinig. Bij het vragen van de rekening werd ons ook meer aangerekend dan om de kaart stond. Het was er zo druk dat ze geen goeie service konden leveren, jammer.. Ze zien er mij niet meer terug. Tip: neem wat minder tafels en grotere porties, zo kunnen jullie een fijne service leveren aan jullie klanten. Ook het interieur is aan een upgrade toe.

Because there was no room left in the restaurant, we were sent to the wine bar. It was (feelingly) just as cold inside as outside, so we ate our pizza with our jackets on and left quickly.

I don't usually write reviews, but the food here was truly something else with a great service. I had one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten in Maastricht. The truffle pasta was also a standout. To top it off, the coffee was excellent
