I am born and raised in Utrecht and study here as well. Some might call this unadventurous, but there has always been something intriguing here. In the midst of the city where I took my first steps, where I fought with my siblings and where I had my first beer: I found my destiny. The UCSA college bar has given me much more than just drunk nights, my best friends and cheap beer. It has given me an environment where I can challenge myself, where I can discover my full potential and where I keep pushing myself to be the best version of Mingel. I have broken mental barriers, faced life and death and reached for the sky. This Bar will forever be in my heart and I will forever live on in this Bar.

I went to this bar once and then I won 69 million euros in the lottery? Then I went again and I became the president of Europe? Coincidence?

It's the only place where you can debate philosophy over a pint and then forget what you were arguing about after the second round. Now, let's address the drink selection. They've got concoctions that sound more like chemistry experiments than beverages. I asked the chief for their signature drink, and I'm pretty sure I saw them sprinkle fairy dust into my cocktail. Magical? Maybe. This student bar is a beautiful mess. It's where your GPA and your dance moves go to be judged equally. I was 10 when my dad left for cigarettes and never came back. Every day for the next 10 years I struggled to find the feeling of being held and hugged by my father. Every day I looked and looked for anything and anyone that filled that void in my soul. Imagine my surprise when i found that warmth and love in the form of the UCSA bar. I feel cuddled every time I come into that place, loved and appreciated by the flowing of beer and tequila shots as well as the incredible people holding the bar together. I am now fullfilled in life.

This michelin-star level bar continues to impress me every time I go. They serve new, complex and delectable cocktails that the skilled bartenders come up with daily for a very affordable price. If cockails are not for you, then each beer is poured to perfection with their sophisticated bar taps that provide the ideal level of foam every time. The customer service is the best I have ever encountered, evidently the training that the bartenders go through is rigourous and impressive because they never fail to meet all their customers needs whilst they serve with a smile. The atmosphere is sophisticated, whilst not over-imposing. There is no better bar in all of the Netherlands.
