A very cozy restaurant with extremely friendly staff, good wines, and delicious food. Four of us were there and were very impressed 😄

Starter: "A beautifully balanced carpaccio with a neutral touch; the accompanying cheese and sauce elevate the dish." Nice place, good food for a very reasonable price

Vaderloos is one of those restaurants where you can lick your fingers. Today (31.05.'25) we went to eat with my family and we enjoyed it immensely..We will definitely come back here again. Nice staff and a chef who knows what she puts on the table...Top, top, top...

Nice place with friendly staff. We had the forest mushroom croquettes and salmon carpaccio as a starter. It was tasty, but simple in taste, could have had a bit more flavour. The sea bream in beurre blanc was wonderfully soft. Potatoes too dark unfortunately. All in all a good meal and a pleasant atmosphere.

Nice family owned cafe! We had a little chat with the owner where he explained how the place came to be which gave a nice cozy vibe.

Friendly welcome when we entered the restaurant, it wasn't very busy, we were able to choose a table. The restaurant is not particularly big. Our waitress that evening was very friendly and open-minded. As a starter we had a carpaccio with truffle mayomaise, small nut crumbs with a little rocket, it was tasty but not outstanding. For the main menu we had zander fillet. A small downer was that the restaurant or the chef was not able to prepare mashed potatoes for the fish when I requested it. The fish was on point and tasted very good. The Chardonnay wine accompaniment tasted delicious, we didn't really like the Verdejo. Dessert didn't fit anymore. The bill came to 93 euros for 2 Unfortunately, the first invoice was incorrect; too much was charged, but it was then corrected immediately. We would visit this restaurant again

It was my birthday night, and we were looking for a cozy spot. We chose this restaurant purely based on a feeling—and I have to say, it was the best choice we could’ve made. The atmosphere gave me exactly the kind of calm I needed that night. And the food? Absolutely amazing. (The boy and girl working there were incredibly sweet and kind.)

This restaurant is located next to their most famous cathedral. The dining atmosphere is very warm and what about the cooking skills? They are all very authentic delicacies prepared by chefs.

Supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Delft, I was a bit disappointed. Very basic food, nothing truly exciting. Had the salmon carpaccio and the steak and my partner tried the devilish shrimp. The service was very friendly and kind.

Pretty okay, but not very great either. Steak was (too) tough, carpaccio was very tasty. The fries could have been better, or I just got all the fried leftovers. In addition, it is a small place where the acoustics are not good, at least not where we were sitting. Right next door; A lot of trouble with guests coming in and leaving. Something fell twice, first a container of mayo almost on my jacket, then a glass that was not cleaned up properly. All in all, not great, decent at most.

Had a great evening at Vaderloos last night. No exaggerated fuss, but really top quality food in a friendly atmosphere. For me, my wife before, main and after + both a wine, soft drink and coffee for 131 euros. Everything was tasty, but the Carpaccio and cheesecake were highly recommended.

My team and I went here for our Christmas Dinner. We had a lovely time, everyone enjoyed the food. For the service they went above and beyond, taking pictures and videos for us and helping us with every request. The atmosphere was very nice, with nice decoration. Overall if you are wondering whether or not to go here, I would highly recommend you do :)

I've been there for dinner with my colleagues. The restaurant is really cozy and the staff was very kind and helpful in fulfilling our requests. All the food we had was great (I think carpaccio and steak were the most loved ones), certainly a place to come back!

What a treat! During a weekend in Delft with my mother, we were wonderfully pampered here. The food was tasty and pure, just like the service. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, authentic and without pretension, that's how we like it. A big 5/5 stars from the two ladies from Flanders! :-)

Starter was immediately brought with a glass of aperitif. From 9 p.m. only 1 more person had to do both the room and the kitchen (desserts/coffee). No mood music, just voices from the kitchen (radio, playing and arguing). A big compliment to Sylvie! The eldest in the kitchen sat outside on the terrace with a colleague with a glass of wine.

As an orphan and widower, this restaurant appealed to me. A living room restaurant, where you are pampered, with delicious food and heart-warming service. I have been eating out 3 to 4 times a week for years, in cafes but also in two- and three-star restaurants, for me it is about the quality of food and service. Sometimes you are unlucky, sometimes you unexpectedly come across a gem, fortunately in this case the latter. I recommend this restaurant to everyone! Try the wild mushroom croquettes, the brisket and the apple strudel, perhaps with a small glass of (homemade?) limoncello?

Outstanding. The vaderloos convinces with a superb service, delicous food and nice ambiente. I have to especially recommend the steak there, which is cooked for a long time on low temperature and it was for me the best piece of meat in my life. The service was also excellent and very polite but still warm and friendly. I have been dining there with a friend on his last day in Delft and we were amazed. I am looking forward to go there again.

BAD cooking. A very prideful and stubborn kitchen. We ordered a medium steak and when it’s served, it was red and raw in the center. I tried a piece and it was so hard to chew and swallow that I was literally choking on it. My father had to strike me on the back to get it out. When we wanted to replace it with another dish, we were told by the kitchen that they did nothing wrong, they can ‘fix’ that for us by reheating the steak (not even offering to make a new one) but they wouldn’t take it off the bill nor replace the dish. During communication with the kitchen, they showed no sympathy for my experience at all but only their blind belief in their own cooking and a strong will to charge us for the unsatisfying dish. It’s my second time here and I really liked this restaurant because of my last great dining experience. I even took my parents with me this time to share this ‘lovely’ restaurant but Now we are all too disappointed and I will NEVER come to this restaurant again. Also remember to check your bills very carefully. They made mistakes with my bills both time

A day in Delft ended on the advice of Delft friends, with a dinner at Vaderloos. It was truly fantastic! The restaurant looks very attractive with nice, smooth service. The carpaccio with homemade truffle mayo was delicious. As a main course, one is fish, the other is homemade brisket and the other is tenderloin tips with freshly baked fries, so deliciously prepared! We definitely recommend this restaurant and hope to visit Delft again soon or if we are in the area we will definitely drop by!

N.a.v. After reading the menu on their site, we decided to eat at Vaderloos. Unfortunately they had 1) a different menu 2) the three-course menu is suddenly much more expensive. Decided to just have a main course. The steak was well done (the request was medium rare) - they only said sorry... the steak did not come with fries (could be ordered additionally for €6.50) there was no salad with the prawns, but in the end they did get it (but had to be asked). Gambas themselves were okay, but not for the price asked for them. We were not asked if we wanted something to drink... All things considered, not worth repeating.

Worthless! Ate there with colleagues, ordered pasta with shrimp 'spaghetti' so dirty. Meat was served without anything, but you had to pay extra for the gratin, or fries were not an accompaniment. Service kept asking questions about our order. Vraiment terrible

Had a very pleasant dinner at Vaderloos to say goodbye to two colleagues. The waiter is a very friendly man who explains all the choices neatly. The younger girl at the counter is also very friendly, customer-oriented and quick. The cook cooked deliciously. They had three beers on tap; Heineken, Skuimkoppe and Affligem Blond. I had the tastiest carpaccio ever here. Then satay (chicken), very thin meat with the sauce neatly served separately. Finally took Tiramisu, very tasty and light. They also have a Limoncello variant. The atmosphere is very homely, as if you are in a large living room, which is very cozy. All in all, I am very positive about this unique restaurant with good food, a nice atmosphere and fantastic staff.

Had dinner here with 13 people last Thursday. We had a fantastic evening. The food was delicious, the service cheerful and attentive and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Even though the regular chef was unavailable that day due to an accident, we had a great evening. Compliments for this! We will definitely come back again.

After a wedding here, I enjoyed the cozy, intimate atmosphere. The dishes were absolutely great. And everything was very well supervised by team Vaderloos.

We received a fantastic welcome from a catering family that has its heart in the right place. The brisket was cooked fantastically soft and the starters were prepared with care. From the desserts on it became a bit blurry, because the limcello cakes were prepared with alcohol 😜 unfortunately too busy enjoying it to be able to share photos now.

Amazing food! Charming atmosphere! Lovely friendly staff! My wife “the best meal in 2 weeks in Belgium and Netherlands!” Make sure you get truffle fries. OK had to update because we just got dessert! The apple strudel is fantastic and the vanilla ice cream is one of the best I’ve had!

We just dropped to this actually very nice city on the way home to Rotterdam from Keukenhof. We tried to find a cosy mood restaurant. We crossed Vaderloos. Full house. For the first time if we do not ha e reservation noway to sit. Than the owner came out, if we wait a few sec she makes us a table. She is amazingly warm, nice and helpful. The food was also just phenomenol. I rarely eat steak but I ate filet mignon steak and it just simply melt in my mouse. Beatiful tastes! So I do recommend to visít! Thanks for the experience!

Long review: Vaderloos is a small restaurant in the city center of delft right next to "De nieuwe kerk". From the street you might cycle past it without even noticing it at first. But once you enter through the curtains that jeep out the cold air from the main enterance you a greeted with a cost at home feeling. The restaurant is decorated very living room style. The menu has a wide selection of dishes from lunch to dinner. We made our reservation for dinner so this review is in regard to that side of the menu. Although the lunch options looked good too. We opted to go for a 3 course menu at the price of +-36 euro's(at tine of writing) with some addition for bigger items, and drinks. And 1 of us only took a main. The waiter was quick to advise us to first get to all the 3 course menu as it is easier to put it in the system then have a hastle at the end getting the receit correct. This is no flaw over service but a software flaw thus we will disregard it and move on to the food. For starters we decided to go for the daily special, scallops and 'finger licking' gamba's. The scallops were slightlt seered and servec on a small bed of risotto the combination went well together and was an overall treat. The gamba's served with pasta has a surprise twist that was the spicy sauce for one of our companions, who funnily enough is not a huge fan of spice. That being said it was on the managable side even for her so for any spicy lover or haters out there, dont expect to much spice or dont be to worried it just enough. The gambas were cooked well but the pasta mjght be a bit filling so keep that in mind considering your appitite. For mains we had, 350 grams od chateaubriand, medium rare steak, brisket and pulled beef. Each of the dishes were really well made. All meat was tender and cooked near perfection. I tried a little lf each dish and although i opted to go for the chateau briand i'd say my favourite was the pulled beef. Maybe that was due to the fact that the vegtables are prepared with a mixture of spices for seasoning that was a little to salty for my liking. The peper and truffel sauce well make up for that minor inconvinience. With the main course i selected a Rioja to go with our dishes and what a beautifull wine it was. Nice and round with a very rich, with lack of a better word, aftertaste. The hostess told me this she selected this wine herself and can only be acquired from a single proptioter in the netherlands. At a price of +-50 euro's a bottle, and is only sold per bottle, I fully understand that you might find that a bit on the high side, if you just want a red wine to go with your food. But i do really recommend it. For desert we had a tiramisu, aptly named as: italian love, and chocolate nousse as one expects named "heavenly mud", were a real surprise. The mousse served with rhubarb and tiramisu with a bit of caramel and not in its super classic square from but more like a "bokkepoot" (a classic dutch sweet) formed the perfect close to a well balanced and execute dinner from the kitchen. A real treat for those with a sweet tooth. Lastly onto service and atmosphere. Vaderloos has a 'small' amount of staff with the kitchen also stepping in to help service. And having most geusts come in around 20.00 probably made every round come out at a 'normal' pace was quite the challange. And the breals betaeen rounds for us were a bit on the long side. Also the restaurant with it's cosy, homestyle setting, feel at home settings makes for a 'rowdy' tables. Thus it is can become a tad hard to have a good conversation because tables with bigger groups can be quite loud. But when the food comes the volume goes back to normal because everyone is fully cherishing it. Our waiter took our feedback on the vegtables really well. And overall it was a great evening 9/10 would definitly go again and recommend it to everyone. Thanks for reading! And please when you visit delft pay a visit to Vaderloos. Ummm my memory goes into spin every time I think about this place. Had the privilege of being their neighbour (Burgwal 99). I was going through a difficult phase of my life when this place came up. Mike and his wife Bella (if I remember her name correctly, as I said memory lapses, difficult times), Dave, Mike's two lovely boys. More than family. They saved my life in a way. Gave me company not only at their cafe but also in their hearts. I would not ruin this review by mentioning my state of mind, but yeah you guys got me through it. I saw the lights flashing through my bedroom window, the voices, the cheers, the bright side of life in one of the toughest of moments I have faced. I saw what I saw and it was beautiful in so many ways. I can easily remember smiling even through those times, just by knowing the fact that your cafe would open and life would move on, the way it should have been, whatever the circumstances, and I am sure you saw it too. I specifically remember Bella candidly telling me that she would sing a lullaby and that I could listen to it and sleep peacefully. What an expression of love from people you barely know!! Again my head spins thinking about it. Although I have been told that trust is hard to gain and read hope is like a distant mirage, but you people somehow managed to infuse life into my soul, whatever that means. I owe you for so many free coffees and meals and for moments money can't buy. I really meant when I said Dave makes really nice naans :) I know, I know, this was meant to be a food/ambience review, trust me this place offers much more than that. Michelin star ✨ 3/3. Went with my girlfriend, both took the 3 course menu. Every dish was delicious and the portions were actually larger than we expected. The service was also excellent.

We called at the last minute and they just had a table available. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. The only downside is the time between the starter and the main courses was a bit long. But otherwise everything was very good. Recommended!

Zeer leuke en knus restaurantje in het centrum van Delft. Vriendelijk personeel en zeer goede service. Chef denkt graag mee bij Allergenen en denkt in oplossingen. Er is voldoende keus voor iedereen (Ook vega en vegan)! Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Een echte aanrader dus.

Enige gênante was dat we thuis ontdekten dat onze fooi wel wat schraal was... Excuus, jullie hadden meer verdiend voor de gezellige bediening, vlotte service en het goede eten!

Leuk restaurant naast de nieuwe kerk in het centrum. Binnen was geen plek meer, maar buiten onder de heater was het prima zitten. 3 gangen menu genomen. Prima biefstuk in sambal jus. Reserveren is aan te raden.

Fijn en klein restaurant op een goede en toch niet te drukke locatie in de Delftse binnenstad. We konden aperitieven en ons voorgerecht eten op het terras en nadien wat warmer binnen zitten voor hoofdgerecht en dessert. De kaart is beperkt maar wel voor ieder wat Wils. Het eten was best lekker en de bediening prima. Binnen het menu was er zelfs met 6 personen ruimte voor verschillende keuzes. Alleen zijn er ook met de menu-formule allerlei (meestal kleine) toeslagen. Dat doet je dan even fronsen achteraf, maar ook niet meer dan dat. Het blijft een aanrader voor een gezellige avond!

Toevallig hier terecht gekomen. Zeker geen spijt van. Van voor tot nagerecht was het eten heerlijk en goed verzorgd op het bord gelegd. Hele prettige en fijne bediening op een leuke locatie vlak bij de Grote Markt.

Wat een culinair feestje hebben we gehad! Heerlijk gegeten met de wamre charmes van eigenaresse Mirabell. Een echte aanrader!
