van Maanen in Wijk 00 Oegstgeest

While walking through the mall in Oegstgeest, I also saw this branch of "van Maanen." This store looks nice and well-maintained. Did I buy anything here? No, bread, etc., is somewhere near the bottom of my favorites list.

€3.50 for a small cup of coffee. Well.

Bakker van Maanen succeeds wonderfully well in maintaining artisanal quality at a high level in a very large regional company.

Perfect coffee. Very helpful, even though there was a mistake with our sausage roll. This was immediately repaired. Unfortunately the music was not appropriate. Some background music would be better.

Today, Saturday, August 28th, I felt like a very unwelcome and unappreciated customer. A young man was busily trying his best to help customers. Despite the customers waiting, the other two women had little more to do than ignore them, make small talk, and pointlessly straighten stacks of items. The line stretched all the way out the door! I won't be coming back here; I'd rather go to another store where I'm seen and helped immediately.

Cannot order fresh pastries (cake) for the next day. Saleswoman wants to freeze it. Management speaks poor Dutch.
