Such a gem in the center of Zaandam. The location is beautiful, facing the Zaan. The service is great, the personnel is very attentive. Food is lovely! Will go back.

Incredibly tasty food, everything was great especially the pumpkin soup and the truffle croquettes they was very delicious. Service on point stuff and chef very friendly. The place is very beautiful, with beautiful view and it's quiet.

We found this restaurant on a whim but it was truly incredible. We visited the „Zaandam“ (the park with the windmills and the cheese shop) and were hungry afterwards. This restaurant is relatively close to it so we went here. When we entered, we were greeted by the staff and sat down almost immediately. We were sat ner a window with a cool view of the river. It was our first time in the restaurant and we didn’t know what to order, so the waitress went trough basically the whole menu with us (even though it was already in English) and recommended us some dishes. We ordered 6 big dishes in total. 2 mustard soups, which were incredible and definitely something special, one big tasty salad, some truffle croquettes, eel in a fried cover (which was really tasty), and salmon and egg on a brioch bun (which probably was the best of them all). There was basically no waiting time and they allowed us to choose if we wanted it all at once or in two courses. There waiters were really nice and had no problems with any of our requests. Afterwards, we ordered dessert. We chose carrot cake which was REALLY GOOD. All in all, it only cost us three 120€, which is relatively cheap. The best restaurant ever.

Last year, I had an excellent dinner there with a group. So, choosing a lunch for a second date wasn't difficult. I made a reservation for lunch for two today, September 25th. The welcome was warm. It wasn't busy. We started with a cappuccino, which was perfect! The two "12-hour" orders took a long time and were of extremely poor quality. The croquettes and soups were lukewarm. The tomato salad was very dry, not very creamy, and sparsely spread on the bread. Apparently, they'd run out of butter. Lacking chicken, my date was forced to choose ham. There was no other choice. The ham was also very thinly spread. I could have mentioned it on the spot, of course, but in the presence of a first date, I decided to do it this way. It's nice to read all those wonderful reviews, but I think you should also know what's not working well in your establishment. It's a shame today was an off day. Good luck!

Hidden local gem. We came here several times for dinner or just for a nice coffee & cake stop. Always "gezellig" and nice atmosphere inside or on the terrace next to the water.

We had another delicious meal last night! The mussels were fantastically prepared, and the vegetarian option was also a hit! A great restaurant with beautifully prepared dishes in a unique location.

We came across this restaurant by chance as we were looking for a place that wasn't fast food in Zaandaam, and we found this one. The food was delicious and the waitress was lovely. The prices were perhaps a bit high, as is generally the case in Amsterdam, although we found the dessert particularly expensive (€10). The rest was great! 100% recommended!

They did not accept us for lunch saying that they were fully booked on a Saturday at 14.00 (in NL) when it was clearly visible almost half of the restaurant was empty.

The artisanal cheesecake and iced coffee are the best I've ever had! I also definitely recommend the Oeufs cocotte – everything was truly fantastic!

This terrace is so beautiful on the Zaan! We sat outside in a few minutes come a waiter to help us. The staff is friendly, the place is cozy very nice for a hot day. The view is great. I really recommend going there!

Nice place and attentive service. Unfortunately, the vegetarian options are blank and disappointing (too spicy, plain, semi-raw). There are plenty of recipes available on how to create wonderful, tasty vegetarian and vegan dishes. Pity the chefs weren't making an effort to test any. 😕 At the restaurant, I expect something better than I can cook myself at home. Unfortunately, that's not the case here. Eatable but much below expectation.

What a wonderful surprise. The atmosphere is great. A warm bath when you enter. The mushroom ragout on a brioche and the gyozas with vegetables taste delicious.

Due to a previously published review in Noord Hollands Dagblad, we were a bit skeptical. However, the restaurant is surprisingly tasty as always. My gluten allergy is taken into account. Being able to eat everything with it was delicious and no complaints at all afterwards. It's a shame that a reviewer who had a bad day or perhaps an entrepreneur with 1 difficult day made me doubt a reservation. Afterwards, no need at all, a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

I have been in zaandam for about 4 months.! I have been living up the road from this place but never realised its existence. For some reason it evaded me.But then a friend of mine invited me to go for coffee after church on sunday.To cut a story short ,what a hidden gem.Beatiful coffee and interior.Had the pumpkin soup twice.I have yet to try out more from the menu but so far its a delightful place.Wonderful atmosphere.I will be back soon.

The food looked beautiful and the taste was great! However, we did find that the stew contained relatively little meat. The atmosphere in the restaurant is good, although a little more attention could have been paid to the mood lighting, at the moment spotlights have been installed on the sides with very white light, which takes away some of the heat in the room.

Really delicious food, good service. Tables are not close together and there are many plants around us, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. Ordered a delicious bottle of viognier myself, which made the bill slightly higher. But prices are certainly reasonable. What a difference with the restaurants on Dam Square! This was our best meal in our time in Amsterdam by far. The location was lovely, the food was delicious and the staff were a joy. I couldn’t recommend here more highly. I had to email to book, rather than an online system, but don’t let that put you off.

Nice location, great service, I had a tasty burger but not much for the real vegetarian. Can you please take the salad with ricotta off the menu, a really boring and uninspired dish.

Recently had lunch with a friend. We sat on the terrace on the Zaan and that is a nice place. We were kindly helped. The food itself was fine, but in sparing quantities (soup of the day and carpaccio) and at a decent price. It wasn't that expensive when I was there before. I was planning to celebrate my birthday there in October, but unfortunately I have to cancel that now.

Very pleasant setting, under the sun, it must still be several with their terrace which offers a nice view. We have taken : A revisited sauerkraut on a toast, very very good. A mustard soup with extra croquettes. (Go for the soup, delicious!) 🤤 Accompanied by a ginger beer, a great discovery, usually they are too spicy and peppery. I recommend this place with all eyes closed, the service is very fast, the staff takes great care. 🤍

Quality ingredients, impeccable service

Absolutely stunning venue (inside and out!) - the beautiful views over the river were a perfect match to the incredible food. We had the beef tenderloin, sea bass and farm chicken… all cooked and prepared to perfection! The cherry on top was the really friendly staff, who kindly accepted to serve us despite our late arrival, close to kitchen closing time. I would definitely recommend!

This restaurant seems excellent at first glance, but it turns out to be just barely adequate. The "sauce" with the tournedos consisted of the shortening in a small bowl. Meat was cooked a little too long. The service was rushed. The dishes passed by in rapid succession. The biggest setback was when my wife went to the toilet and the waitress asked me: "Do you know what she wants to order?" Too bad, for five stars you need to dot the famous t's and cross the i's.
