The food was delicious, the menu is small, but that's what makes it so easy to choose. And everything is prepared with care.

Cramped seating and always busy because they serve delicious sandwiches. The Pastrami sandwich is the absolute highlight: delicious, crispy rolls with tasty, warm pastrami.

A nice and cozy place, I popped in for tea and coffee with a sandwich. The service was friendly and professional, and the food was delicious here in the heart of Zwolle.

What a wonderful experience at Vito's! The hostess was incredibly friendly and helpful. The pasta was exceptionally delicious – you really felt like you were in Italy. The tiramisu, which varies at many restaurants, was simply perfect here. The carpaccio was also delicious, highly recommended. Plus, the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. We will definitely be back!

What a lovely Italian restaurant! A well-organized menu. Plenty of choices, including vegetarian options. Our order was taken quickly. We had the penne pesto, pasta Alfredo, pappardelle with eggplant and burrata, linguine with scampi, and a bavette steak. We had a view of the kitchen, atmospheric music, and we didn't have to wait long. The portions were generous and the flavors were excellent. We highly recommend this place.

Tasty sandwiches but took a bit too long

Faded glory. When it first opened, I'd often sat and ordered there since I was a teenager. As the years went by, absurd shrink-flation. It's at least doubled in price, but the toppings are less, completely out of proportion. I'd say take a sample. So I'm just guessing they don't care anymore; it's been subpar for years. I still order here once a year, hoping to try that delicious pollo or pastrami sandwich again. But I've been disappointed for over 10 years. Simply stingy. If you charge that price, it should at least be well-filled, just seasoned. It's really bad when you mainly taste the bread, always too little meat, and sometimes not enough sauce either. Everything has become more expensive, everyone understands that. But without decent quality, you wouldn't dare sell; where has the passion gone? Everything in that square is questionable now. But it seems nice and safe for tourists. Good luck!

Good value for money, very tasty sandwich with a delicious sauce. Best sandwich I've had in a long time! And very friendly staff.

They were once known for their fantastic sandwiches. But I think Vito's has lost some of its charm. I had the pastrami sandwich, and while the sandwich itself tasted fine, the meat was rather dry and had a cheap-looking garlic sauce on it. Not fresh and, in my opinion, not authentic. For truly delicious Italian sandwiches, you're better off going to Mama's and Piccolino.

Today we tried a sandwich at Vito's. Luckily, we quickly got a table on the terrace, crammed together, but we had a beautiful view. The reason for the 1 star: we ordered drinks and a sandwich immediately upon arrival, a hefty €11+, and waited 50 minutes for our drink—a simple coke with the ice cubes already melted in the glass. After the drink arrived, we waited another 40 minutes for the sandwich, which never arrived. Then we decided to leave because, according to the waitress, the sandwich hadn't been made yet. It was our last time. No apology, no offer. What a shame!

The sandwiches themselves were tasty, but far too expensive. The atmosphere was only pleasant because the weather was nice and it was pleasant outside in the center of Zwolle, but you can't really feel the atmosphere from inside the restaurant. I can't praise the service from the female waiters. They pose like models but don't know how to dress. Bare stomachs, lots of makeup, and loose hair (nice and cool while serving, not). Furthermore, they don't actively check if guests want another drink. When the food is brought out, there's no offer of another drink... but we managed to ask a lady to bring two drinks... after waiting 30 minutes and asking different waiters three times, the drinks still hadn't arrived. We wanted to pay, and the undelivered drinks were still there. Vito's management, please manage your waiters better.

What an absolute disaster. Vito's in Zwolle wasn't just bad, it was embarrassing. The food was cold, tasteless, and looked like it had been thrown on a plate hours ago. Not a trace of love, care, or basic hygiene. But the absolute worst? The service, or rather, the complete lack thereof. The staff wouldn't even look at us, ignored orders, and exuded a "sort it out yourself" attitude. This wasn't a restaurant visit; this was a punishment. I've never regretted a meal so much. Time, money, and appetite wasted.

The food took a long time to arrive; I received cold pasta. It took ages for everything to be cleared from the table. I had to fumble for the staff to get their attention. I saw them chatting with colleagues and not doing much.

Ate at Vito's for the first time today. It was great! I had a super tasty ham sandwich, it was delicious.

Very bad, I waited almost half an hour, the girls behind the bar do nothing, the receipts are running but the sandwich was old and downright bad!

I can't even begin to rate this place. After asking if the kitchen was still open for dinner and receiving a yes (confirmed at 9:25 pm), we sat for 20+ minutes without so much as eye contact from a single employee. We left for the McDonald's next door. At least we could expect better service there. 😉

Ate here this afternoon, but was very disappointing. I had asked if they had anything other than bread. The friendly lady indicated that they could also make a salad out of it. So I was still very happy, until they brought the food after 30 minutes and to my surprise I only saw arugula as a "salad" with a huge amount of truffle sauce and cheese on top of the carpaccio. It must be me, but I really have different thoughts about a salad (fresh vegetables). The service offered to put iceberg lettuce on top... but that won't make it any better. It was also quite noisy and I had difficulty making myself understood between the cappuccino machine and citrus press and loud music. In short, after this lunch, I went to get another lunch in town.

We are a football club from the UK visiting the area for a football tournament. We ate in VITO’S two nights running as a group of 61 people! Despite us arriving unannounced in such a large group they welcomed us in with open arms and we were blown away at how great the food is! The service was also first class. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Great Italian food at very reasonable prices. Will 100% return if we ever return to Zwolle. Thank you for two fabulous evenings.

I haven't been to Vito's in almost 20 years, but I've been seriously dreaming about those great sandwiches all those years, I used to love them that much! Today again in Zwolle, so I immediately scored a sandwich on the terrace. You might say that it can only be disappointing, after so many years. But man oh man, did I enjoy it. Best sandwiches in the Netherlands. The guys in the shop were very quick and cheerful. Read a lot of negative messages, but I am very happy that I am now in Zwolle more often for work, which means getting a sandwich at Vito's every time! 😄

We first had to wait 20 minutes before we were helped... then we only ordered a coke and an ice tea, but after 20 minutes we still didn't have our drinks. We got up and left.

I will never go to Vito's again. Very bad service. During the long wait to order, you see people who come in later already receiving their food. Meanwhile, you also see the staff chatting, eating and/or drinking with each other. This is not the first time but always when I come here. Operating with the hair loose is also very unhygienic. We came in on Sat December 28 and immediately sat down at the table at the entrance. This was our favorite in Zwolle. We haven't been to it for years. Recently had the chance to visit NL. Seeing the reviews, we became a little bit apprehensive if it has changed (for the worse). We decided to try it out and ended up coming back again before having to head home abroad. The pastrami sandwich is as we remembered. The staff were wonderful! Vito's never failed us and we are so happy that we didn't let reviews stop us from going there again.

This afternoon I had eaten salmon sandwiches with my wife, but unfortunately they were ordered warm and they were cold. Reheated, brought to another table and reheated after three times. Delicious sandwiches, unfortunately there were pieces of plastic in my sandwich where I bit my tooth. When I reported this to the waiter, it was taken away without any excuse and stated that a new sandwich would be made. After 20 minutes we still hadn't received anything so we left. When we reported what was wrong at checkout, she first canceled the sandwich before continuing with the checkout. Strange turn of events...

Really delicious sandwiches. There is something for every taste

Really enjoyed delicious pastrami and tuna sandwiches at Vito's! The terrace was very busy last Friday and there was no room for our group of 3. The waiter saw us looking and immediately suggested to prepare a table for us and clean it. Without having to ask first. The sandwiches arrived quickly and were very tasty. We ended up spending a few hours on the terrace, because it was a great place to stay and even had a nice chat with the staff! The only pity is that we come from the Utrecht area and having lunch at Vito's is not an option, but many restaurants from Utrecht could learn something from this. Affordability, hospitality and beautiful location!

Waited over an hour for our order. We already suspected that the order had gone wrong to the kitchen. We therefore asked the waiter several times if the order had gone through correctly, since everyone around us had already finished eating. The lady would check, gave no further updates on the progress and after asking 3 times, I finally went to the cash register to pay for the drinks and leave. No alternative or discount was offered, or steps were taken to resolve the matter immediately. Very unfortunate and disappointing. It's no big deal if something goes wrong, but I do expect someone to take responsibility for the situation, especially after asking 3 times.

Delicious lunch on a busy Sunday afternoon. Each of the three sandwiches was delicious. It took a while for the sandwiches to be ready, but we were in no rush.

I've been coming to Vito's for a sandwich for years. Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day, there was a market in Zwolle. Together with my partner we sat down on the terrace of Vito's. The service was as always; new and disinterested. I'm used to this by now, it's part of the Vito's experience. My partner ordered a beer and a pastrami sandwich. I didn't feel like eating a whole loaf of bread and ordered bread with olives and a glass of dry white wine. I forgot to indicate which wine and did not get the chance to pass this on, I just had to hope for a nice glass. The waitress was fiddling with the ordering machine and indicated that the menu was new (note that the menu is still what it has been for years) and disappeared mumbling because she could not place the bread with olives. She would ask inside. After more than half an hour of waiting, a young man brought a pastrami sandwich and a club sandwich. I indicated that I had not ordered the club sandwich. He took both sandwiches back, including the pastrami, even though it was good. After waiting half an hour there was still nothing and I asked the waitress if the order was okay. She was clearly confused, because things were going well, right?? She started asking around, the wait staff asked each other and asked me if I didn't have a club sandwich. So no, I didn't order that. Our neighbors at the table next to us had finished eating and wished us luck when they got up. After another half hour, a young man came again with a pastrami sandwich and a board with exactly 5 strips of bread (each strip as small as a lady's finger) and a can of olives. The olives, still in a can (fortunately opened), were inedible. The olives were limp and soft and almost spreadable, if not fresh. All in all it was a strange experience and a huge disappointment. My advice to Vito's, educate your staff on the menu, the food they prepare and how to interact with customers. An apology would have been appropriate.

A friend of mine had eaten at this place a few times in the past and spoke very highly of Vito's. It was a Wednesday afternoon and quite busy. We wait a while to ask if there is a place to sit (we are not helped, so we ultimately decide to choose a table ourselves). After another fifteen minutes no one has noticed us and we have to walk to the counter ourselves to order. Then a young catering employee is sent to us and it quickly becomes clear that he would 10x rather be somewhere else than at work. Our order is finally taken after half an hour. Then we decide to look around and find out that people who had a place before us also didn't have their food yet. We let them know that it would take too long for us and got up, after which several groups followed us. Not only did we waste a lot of time on this place, the sandwiches from other visitors also looked meager and dry. Just before we decided to leave, a woman was complaining about the quality of her sandwich and another employee regularly walked back and forth to the kitchen with sandwiches that were not considered "good enough". There is a serious lack of professionalism. It's nice that young staff are being recruited, but there is no form of supervision whatsoever. You cannot expect a bunch of teenagers to run a busy catering business with an entire terrace. Unfortunately, Vito's was not able to meet our friend's expectations and previous (better) experiences. I strongly advise against sitting here unless the staff can actually take the time to prepare your sandwich. The prices are also not representative of the quality and the atmosphere (inside) is also lacking

Het terras zag er aantrekkelijk uit. Binnen was het wat rommelig. Personeel liep wat heen en weer zonder iets te doen. Uiteindelijk kwam er iemand naar onze tafel binnen, en nam de bestelling op. Dat was ruim voor 12.30 uur. Ongeveer 5 tafeltjes bezet. Op het terras ong 2/3. Het duurde vrij lang….10 minuten…eer de 3 consumpties ( flesjes frisdrank) geserveerd werden. Personeel liep heen en weer zonder duidelijke taak. Als de gasten vertrokken waren, bleven de borden e.d. op de tafels staan, niemand ruimde af. Na 20 minuten vroegen we waar onze broodjes bleven…we zijn er mee bezig werd er gezegd. Tafeltjes om ons heen hadden dezelfde ervaring…..15 min wachten op een kop koffie……. Toen we 40 minuten op de broodjes gewacht hadden, zijn we vertrokken. Waardeloze bediening.

What happened to this case? Delicious sandwiches, always richly filled. Now the sandwiches have become 1.50 more expensive (count from your profit), with less bread and toppings. Now waiting 20 minutes for takeaway for 1 takeaway sandwich (which had already been ready for almost 10 minutes).. Dry sandwich with little toppings, it tasted okay, but it could all be a little better.

Had a sandwich here again after a long time. Young staff but they helped quickly and friendly. Ordered 2 warm sandwiches but we got cold ones. This was of course indicated and the girl took it back with her. We were then looked at by 3 girls as if we had said something very strange. We then got our sandwich but it was still not warm, but it was a shame. The sandwich was very tasty though. Before we left we went to the toilet, there was a huge sewage smell and the ceiling fan in the toilet was completely full of dust, really dirty.

Tijdens lunchtijd verandert Vito's in een lunchfabriek. Iedereen geeft zijn eigen taak. Desondanks lang op mijn lunch moeten wachten. De salade kip met mangosalsa was mooi opgemaakt en bestond voornamelijk uit een grote stapel kipfilet plakjes en brood. Het was daardoor niet in verhouding met de garnering, salsa en broodsmeersel Het smaakte prima, maar ik had liever meer garnering, salsa en brooddip erbij gezien.

Voor een plekje in de eerste voorjaarszon moet je wat over hebben.. maar wat een ballentent. Tafels worden niet afgeruimd. Eten en drinken wordt verkeerd geserveerd. Er wordt geen gebruik gemaakt van dienbladen? Het personeel kan de drukte niet aan; ze hebben te weinig personeel en wat er rondloopt komt net van school. Nee, zeker geen 2e keer en ook zeker geen aanrader!

We had heard good stories about this restaurant. Unfortunately, these were not fulfilled. We had drinks quite quickly. But the food took a very long time.
