I regularly visit the Flemish Bread House. Very tasty pastries, a nice place to sit and friendly service. Wonderful that it is also open on Sundays.

I've been to this bakery many times, but now two days in a row, the croissants have arrived an hour and a half after opening time. Poor service, and the staff is too young and inexperienced to run the place. Where is the manager?

Been there on Sunday around 1.30, we have been waiting 45 minutes to get 2 sandwiches.. I mean Sandwiches...I would not call that one Sandwiches. Place was almost empty there were 3 people in 2 tables that already eat, and 3 people from the sutff working/chatting/using their phones behind the counter. 'Pastrami' Sandwich was basically a slice of ham, Chicken pesto Sandwich was basically pesto, ONLY for 12 euro each. 2 stars are for the bread def not for the 'kitchen'. First and last time.

Quiet and cozy place, excellent service, excellent and interesting delicatessen, delicious breakfast!

Ordered breakfast at 11:10 with a croissant and tea. At 11:40, we received a pot of tea and were told they were out of croissants (because all the croissants had been sold at the counter, and no one could think of setting aside one croissant for our order at 11:10). At 11:55, we received our order without a croissant, which was replaced with something else. We had to ask for cutlery and napkins ourselves. Finally, we could start eating at 12:00. They're probably all super nice ladies trying their best, but dear owner of Vlaamsch Broodhuys: these kinds of wait times and poor service absolutely do not reflect well on the quality of your products. This is such a shame.

A terrible place, terrible service, overpriced, and unhygienic. The staff were completely clueless (no matter how simple the order was), and things were forgotten. Spreads came in large jars with a knife in them; I wondered how many people/children had already put their licked cutlery in them 🤮 They grabbed the sandwiches with their bare hands to put them on your plate. Coffee and milk are in small cups without handles, making adding milk to your coffee virtually impossible or creating a mess. An egg salad sandwich cost 13 euros and was nothing more than a slice of bread with a thin layer of egg salad and some lettuce. Not exactly a culinary highlight... We were in the hotel across the street and had paid 28 euros for breakfast, but we were given 30 euros to use at Het Broodhuys. We even had to pay extra.

The food is okay, but the slow and incompetent service and the lack of all the drinks on the menu disqualify this place. We came for breakfast three days in a row, and each day, choosing a drink was a challenge, as the only choice was really Coke. They didn't have any ice for cold drinks. In fact, they don't have anything: coffee, juice, iced tea, or half the breakfast options. What's more, everything is so dirty that you don't want to eat, and the staff just stands around and talks instead of cleaning. I don't recommend it.

Very good breakfast, excellent service and a very nice atmosphere, quiet place.

Very sweet persons working here, but sometimes they had no clue of what they were doing, like serving a granola with knife and fork, taking around 20 minutes to bring a pastry from the counter to the table etc. So everything was just super slow and at some point just humorous, but the food itself was ok.

The slowest service I have ever experienced. An hour for a cappuccino and a croissant. Run away from this place!!!

The food is very good, the staff is helpful but overworked. They need one more employee just to serve the people who just need to buy and leave.

Delicious breakfast with lots of choice, and you can also buy various delicacies such as spreads to take away, an ideal gift. Tickets are available in Dutch & English. The staff are cheerful & polite, although sometimes they don't seem to be completely knowledgeable themselves (for example the contents of the menu), but this comes with time. Otherwise everything is beautifully decorated and, above all, clean

I used to love to come here throughout many many years, but something has changed a year ago or so and now I see tables with dishes from previous visitors not removed timely each time I come. Also, waiting times grew, and sometimes the personnel are a bit untrained (not knowing the menu, cooking something else, forgetting orders). I hope this will change! 🙏

Lukewarm dirty coffee and poorly made not warm milky cappuccinos! The ordered chocolate rolls arrived much later because the rolls still had to go into the oven to be presented too hot again! Why, a roll at room temperature is just right. Otherwise ask if the roll should be reheated.... What a disappointment! No more coffee with treats for us at the Vlaams Broodhuys!

I have had at least 10 times now that bread is no longer in stock in the morning. I have indicated several times that it might be smart to order more of that bread (the bread is not baked on site). I don't think the service staff can do much about that, they always indicate that no more has been delivered. My rating for the service is therefore not so much about the friendliness of the service staff but about the purchasing policy. I understand that you don't want to waste bread, but structurally being sold out so early is really out of place if you call yourself a baker. I'll just look for another baker.

Had a delicious high tea. The savory sandwiches were great, and I have rarely had such delicious scones. Not much room left for the other sweets, so we took that home with us.

The chain is known for its breads and sweets but I was quite disappointed this time. Service was VERY slow, for just 5 coffees and 3 pastries. Pastries were soggy and dry and we asked for a cappuccino and we got a latte sized coffee… Not pleasant either to have 3 kids shouting and running around

The breads sold here are delicious. But the Vlaams Broodhuis as a lunch location is disastrous. We came in for a birthday lunch and asked if lunch was served. Yes, that was possible. We then waited fifteen minutes for the waiter who was clearing the dishes in the basement. The menu was somewhat limited because the beef carpaccio had run out, which was a shame. After ten minutes the drinks followed, with one too many orange juices. Always better than too little. After another five minutes the girl came back: no, unfortunately there was no more tuna, nor any pulled chicken. All gone, unfortunately, again tomorrow. We paid for the drinks and left.

The location is very large and spacious. The cappuccino and cinnamon roll are good. Service a little slow, but allows you to enjoy the tranquility of a good breakfast.

Amazing food (pastries are exquisite) and friendly staff.

They have great breads and pastries and also the coffee is good, but somehow this location feels less nice and inviting than other ones (like Bilderdijkstraat or Vijzelstraat). Not sure why. But nevertheless it's worth stopping and buying a nice bread. The garden has potential but it looked bad before (not sure if that changed since)

The small breakfast consists of two toasted sandwiches with simple toppings (butter, peanut butter, jam, chocolate spread). Nothing special but okay. I would, however, prefer not to be served the entire (opened, half-empty) jar of jam and the same for the butter, which has clearly already had several knives inserted into it. Not very hygienic, a pot on the table where several people have already been breathing above it. I would appreciate it if it were served in a small glass bowl!

Delicious cookies, but payment is only by card. Poor accessibility for people without bank cards.

My Mum and I stopped in for lunch. It’s on the pricey side but we really enjoyed our truffled egg sandwich and beef pastrami sandwich…. The bread is sooooo tasty…. We were very satisfied after eating….The young woman that served us was really so lovely, pity I didn’t get her name.

bediening is vriendelijk maar een zuurdezembroodje met goudse kaas en beenham, gewoon een tosti dus voor meer dan 10 euro is too much

Great food. Salmon and avocado salad has great flavor and a big portion, highly recommended. Comes with delicious bread!

My wife and I wanted to try a new breakfast experience, but sadly, the service was not what we expected. I had to ask for the English version of the menu. I thought the lady would have known we spoke English. After all, we had a conversation on entering. The breakfast was good ,very tasty. Although we were the only ones there, the server had no interaction with us. The bill was brought promptly even before we were done. I wanted to try some of the pastries but change my mind. I hope they improve.

Great vibes, friendly people, and most important excellent quality bread, sweets and coffee. During the week this is a very busy place so make sure you get there on time and choose the right moment to visit. Try the berries cake, won't regret!

Deze bakker is niet goedkoop en dat proef je helaas niet bij alle producten. Christophe pavé is heerlijk, daar kan je op rekenen. Koffiebroodjes van de supermarkt zijn lekkerder, deze was net niet aangebrand. Qua service mogen ze wel werken aan een open verwelkomde houding. Het is wel heel erg gericht op de transactie en niet echt klantvriendelijk. Niet fout, maar ook niet echt goed. En dat zeg ik op basis van een aantal bezoekjes.

Airy and spacious. Sandwiches very good - although were a little confused because the egg sandwich wasn't vegetarian. After inquiring there was something fishy in the egg part. I now remember that the sandwich was officially truffle egg sandwich. It was a good egg salad but I didn't register truffle. Coffee & orange juice all good!
