Terrible service. Went with my mom and ordered two cappuccinos, a carrot cake, and a sandwich. They were out of carrot cake despite it being early in the morning, so we had to pick something else and chose a pastry instead. The coffees and pastry arrived after 15 minutes, which is a lot considering the simple order, but the sandwich never came. We waited another 20 minutes, then noticed they started serving people who arrived later. When I asked about the sandwich, the waitress claimed they “didn’t get the order” even though she was the one who took it and repeated it out loud. No apology, just asked if I wanted something else instead, which made no sense. I ended up canceling because it would take another 20+ minutes. Coffee was not good, and the pastry was just okay. The coffee was served boiling in a cup without a handle and with no saucer, so there was no way to hold it comfortably or place the spoon anywhere. Overall, terrible service, zero accountability, and a weak excuse for their mistake.

Great lunchtime food experience. Best bread in Amsterdam so the sandwiches are wonderful.

Had to wait three quarters of an hour for a simple ham and cheese toastie (for €12.95). Eventually had to run back to the office and eat it. No excuses, and despite the price that created expectations, no taste sensation either.

The modern bread shop-many flavors. Rhubarb/Raspberry tart was pretty bland.

Don’t have the normal cheese and wouldn’t sub on the other cheese reserved for one sandwich to another sandwich despite me offering to pay for that.

We visited this bakery on the last day of our trip to Amsterdam. We both had a grilled sandwich, which was okay – nothing particularly special, but it was filling and the sauce on the side was quite nice. We did have to wait a bit longer than expected, but it wasn’t a big issue as the atmosphere was very pleasant. The staff were really kind, and we were even given a small sample of bread to try, which was a lovely touch. Overall, a nice experience – the food was average, but the service and setting made it worthwhile.

Worst service of my life. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and some coffees, empty store, and the waiter brought half of the order 50 minutes later. They didn't even apologize and didn't want to give us anything for it. DON'T GO THERE. I'm leaving one star because I cannot leave 0 stars

Came here while visiting amsterdam and got the ham and cheese sandwich to take away. I can honestly say it was perfect! The lady who served us was very polite and went through the options with us as we couldn't read the menu. Will be coming here on our next stay in Amsterdam!

Very tasty cakes and rolls. You can have a good breakfast and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately a bit overpriced.

Well no Uncozy...no atmosphere We only had a cup of coffee and a hot chocolate And that's about it. Terrible unprofessional staff. Half full cup of coffee without sugar or milk added.. And if you ask for it, you will receive 1 sugar cube on a saucer. I personally didn't like chocolate milk either...very bitter Hopefully the bread is tasty, but I can't comment on that

It was empty when we came. The mango tart was not tasty at all.. The lemon meringue was pretty ok. Felt like the guy at the front disk didn’t know what he was doing..

Bag of gingerbread nuts for 5 euros, literally 3 times as expensive as at the AH, and not even tastier!? I only realized it when paying and was stupid enough not to say: "never mind then".

Terrible attention, slow, inefficient and the food is too expensive for what it is. The smoothie was the only reasonable Bala between quality and price.

Food was overpriced, especially when you have to wait 40 minutes for it and then have to wait another 15 minutes to pay (and then get sent to another cash register by a grump)

More expensive than expected. We were waiting for Our breakfast 20 min until the Coffee was cold and then the staff became unfriendly and aggressive. Last time here, there are netter places around.

Waited almost 20 minutes in queue to buy some bread. Employees were not even taking orders only serving restaurant orders. They even ignored us. Some people even left the queue. A simple head ups about the wait would be nice.

Maybe lubricate that front door, because the sound goes through your marrow and bone. Furthermore: €12.95 for a sandwich is absurd and the toilets are a mess!

€3,95 voor een coffee to go zwart..!! Met een service zonder glimlach en laten je rustig stuntelen om het dekseltje op je beker te krijgen. Voor mij “ a coffee not to go” de laatste keer geweest.

The staff seems disinterested, the bakery doesn't meet expectations, and prices are unreasonably high compared to other bakeries in the area.

I had vacations for one week in Amsterdam and stayed in the vicinity. Went every day for a coffee. The bread is great and the staff is super friendly.

Nice people, nice place, tasty cheese pesto sandwich, but unfortunately I ordered a pulled chicken pesto. After further investigation, it turned out that there were some chicken fragments between the bread, but that is not worth the money

Had to wait almost half an hour for 5 coffees. Enough staff but not interested and bizarrely slow. The coffee itself is mediocre. We wanted to eat but we skipped it...

The place was dirty. Dirty tables, floor. I ordered a grilled sandwich, received a not quite good presentation. Without appliances. I asked for utensils, they brought me a dirty fork.

Top ! Delicious bread, very good mackerel rillettes and the excellent chicken one!

We went there for lunch. Lots of tables still to be cleared and cleaned. We should have realised and gone elsewhere. Food took an age to come. Drink served in a chipped glass. Food was so mediocre and service was extremely poor. For what we had, it was really overpriced. Go somewhere else.

I often buy bread at Vlaamsche Broodhuys and this happens a little too often. At this price I expect to buy bread and not just crusts.

It's not a pleasant place. Service is slow and not too smart (sorry). Products often not available. Not good quality compared price. Quality really needs to improve here. This wasn't the first time I've been here, but it really hasn't gotten any better.

Zeer lekker gegeten! Echt goed gegeten nog een lekkere shortcake erachteraan! De beef pastrami smelt zo je mond in echt goddelijk en de saus zo lekker.. 10 met een griffel

Ondanks de laatste reviews toch hier geluncht, althans geprobeerd. Bediening is traag (maar ze stond dan ook alleen), zeer karig belegd en 20 minuten wachten op een broodje (en dan nog zelf gevraagd waar het bleef, want gasten die na ons aan een tafel gingen zitten, werden eerder bediend). Sfeer is matig, niet gezellig, overal vieze tafels, menu's met vlekken en rommelig. En als toppunt betaal je de hoofdprijs: ieder een sneetje belegd brood en een kopje thee voor euro 32,50 !! Nooit meer, doe jezelf een plezier en zoek een ander leuk tentje in de buurt!

Despite the latest reviews, I had lunch here, or at least I tried. Service is slow (but she was standing alone), very sparsely filled and had to wait 20 minutes for a sandwich (and then asked where it was, because guests who sat at a table after us were served earlier). Atmosphere is mediocre, not cozy, dirty tables everywhere, menus with stains and messy. And to top it off, you pay the top prize: each a slice of bread and a cup of tea for euro 32.50!! Never again, do yourself a favor and find another nice place nearby!

There were 4 employees at the time and no one approached to take my order, after 20 min fibally someone came to my table to ask, then another 10 mins to get just a coffee.

Very bad food. Sandwiches are very sparsely filled, the toppings are very cold and so are the plates. Paid around 32 euros for these 2 sandwiches and 2 tea. Scam and the service was also disappointing. The waitress is more concerned with each other than with the customer. Definitely a no go!!

What a bizarrely bad experience. The 3 of them don't know what to do with orders and receipts. The tables are super dirty and in the meantime they just stand there looking at the order together. Have to wave to be helped. Don't come back here again!

What a sadness here. Waitresses were chatting and pretending not to see us or other people. On Sunday morning at half past ten, all the eggs were already gone. We had to wait a long time for 'breakfast'. My bowl of yougurt with some granola cost 8.25! Was just a small plastic container!! Never again! We approached the waitress (RH) about it, but we were not allowed to speak to her in 'this tone'! Dear RH, find another job... because this job is not for you!

Zeer arrogante dame in de bediening. Bij gratie Gods mochten we bij haar aan de balie bestellen nadat ze een behoorlijke tijd ons met de rug aankeek. Produkten prima maar een personeelslid die op je neerkijkt is not done. Vragen worden niet gewaardeerd door deze prinses.

Cappuccino was a weak, lukewarm mini latte. And for a simple croissant you pay 1.25 e more because you sit inside for a while. I think that's bad.

They took so long, pesto pollo forgotten in the toast more grilled cheese was crystallised..very salty and hard. Very tiny sandwich for 15eur :(

2023.12 We ordered hot grilled sandwiches, four different flavors, with dipping sauces, very delicious. I also ordered an avocado feta salad, which was equally delicious. The store offers a sample of Christmas bread, which is delicious. We plan to buy some to take back to our country.

€13 for a moderately topped sandwich. Completely absurd. Nice staff!

We had our breakfast here. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. The products are moderately fresh, and the waitresses a little slow.

Unfortunately, no knowledge at all about our own allergens. It is very strange that there are still places nowadays where there is no list on which you can check allergens. Finally, after some searching, I ordered something, but unfortunately still had problems. Price is way too high for what you get. Unfortunately we won't be coming back here again.

Nice place for a coffee and a treat!

Rarely have we had such a bad and overpriced breakfast. 8.25 for 150ml yoghurt and a handful of supermarket granola. The supermarket is around the corner.

Excellent products bad service! Ordered a coffee for take away. Everything fine till the moment I asked for a lid. The reaction was a very “dry” “We don’t have”. Thus: they serve something not complete (since you give away coffee you suppose to provide a cover or at least inform the client that you don’t have one) and they didn’t even bother telling me in advance that they don’t have lids so I decide if I want a coffee or not. They didn’t even bother apologizing or anything could make the client feel more welcome. I regret that I didn’t return the coffee back on the spot!

Very nice service, good coffee, and hot chocolate. It has it's vibe and style. Tasty fruit cakes. But payment only with card, so 4 stars.🤷

I really hate writing public reviews, but here we are. I wrote an email to corporate to complain but got nowhere. No response. So went in here and ordered a Toasted Pastrami Sandwich. At this point, I will ask anyone reading this review to google 'Pastrami Sandwich'. There's tonnes of them. Most, if not all, are a fairly prescribed combination of thinly cut pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese on rye. That's it. When i paid 11 eu for the one at this store I was shocked at how pathetic it was. There must have been no more than 20g of Pastrami on this thing. It was shocking. Service nice, but honestly, a shockingly poor value sandwich. Here's a photo.

the food was a bit pricey but very good & filling. service wasn’t great, waited a while to be served & when our food was done it was left on a counter for a while until it was brought to us. other than that it was a nice place

Sadly the manager took my order then managed to not tell the other employees to make it. Very disappointing and turned a quick snack into an ordeal. The girls behind the counter did make it quickly after that and compensated with a small shortbread, and the food was nice though somewhat overpriced given the terrible service. I suspect this place suffers from poor management.

It's okay for the price. They have a lot of things, it makes me want to come back to taste them all.

Ontbijt gedaan op een zondagochtend. Vieze tafels in een bijna lege zaak terwijl je met vier man sterk aan personeel staat. Beide wc’s versierd met remsporen. Slappe koffie die vooral naar melk smaakt. Geserveerd zonder suiker/zoetjes. Feedback over het wellicht anders afstellen van de het koffieapparaat werd apathisch op gereageerd. Drie smoothies uitgeserveerd waar slechts bij één ook banaan was gemixed. Smoothies teruggegeven en vervolgens kregen we drie versies, allen zonder banaan. Verder yoghurt met honing, een gegrilde boterham met gekookte beenham en Goudse kaas (wat een gewone tosti bleek te zijn), worstenbroodje, ham-kaas croissantje en brood proeverij gegeten. Deze waren ok maar wel echt ontzettend prijzig voor wat je krijgt. Zoals €9 voor een supermarkt yoghurtje en €11 voor een tosti is natuurlijk schandalig. Overigens krijg je geen bestek bij je brood. Wij zouden nooit nog een keer teruggaan. Wat misschien nog het meest stoorde was (met uitzondering van de kassajuffrouw) de schijnbaar ongeïnteresseerde houding van het personeel. Ze hadden het wel zichtbaar onderling gezellig.

I used to love this place for bread. But stopped going there because not only they increased their prices but they also made the breads smaller, quite sneaky tactic.

Somehow, here I ate the best cinnamon roll of my life. Service was very welcoming, radiating happy morning energy. Coffee was tender as the October sun. Thank you and all the luck!

Goede koffie, lekker brood. De koffie is echt veel beter dan in het Vlaamsch Broodhuis aan de Utrechtse Nachtegaalstraat. Maar ze zijn wel veel te duur!

Good food and coffee, helpful staff, and clean space. Looks like a locals hangout in the mornings with adequate indoor and outside seating.

Very nice breakfast place where the service is extraordinary. The people who serve the food & drinks are smiling from ear to ear which makes you feel very welcome. Beside the great hospitality, the food & coffee are extremely good. The seats outside are far enough from each other which makes it not too crowded and still personal. I would definitely recommend this place.

Caro e con servizio un po' troppo lento

Broodje hummus smaakloos. Nog dunner dan in het vliegtuig. Dun laagje hummus en noten waarop je je tanden kapot kunt bijten. Na een korte klacht bij een medewerkster de mededeling dat er keiharde stukken noot over het broodje gestrooid worden. Als je kiespijn wilt bestel dan hier een broodje hummus. Koffie is verder prima.

Een oud plak brood met smeersels die je nog uren daarna opbreken. En dat voor 9,90euri..bediening is wel vrolijk.
