I completely agree with the other review. The bagel was incredibly poorly topped and very dry. It's really not worth the money; I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Bought a bagel here for a hungry friend (€6). Ridiculous how stingy it was for that price. Really the thinnest layer of cream cheese I have ever seen in my entire life. Also the bagel was old and dry; clearly a bagel from yesterday or the day before. If you love your loved ones (and yourself), then you should never buy anything here. You would be better off going to the AH2go across the street.

It has been always a pleasure to have breakfast in Backwerk Amstel. They have very tasty sandwiches and a fantastic coffee, i believe the best in town. This is coming together with a beautiful smile from Kseniia and Seike. Every time I travel to Amsterdam, i visit this nice bakery. Thank you guys for all your products and congrats for the fantastic staff you have there. See you next time.

Gloria helped us in the best way possible. Praise this woman who made us leave the shop smiling. She checks in with all the customers how they're doing, she's upselling in the right way without it being pushy and she has the prettiest smile that made our day!

Bad service. I wanted to order a sandwich and she still had to make the sandwich, asked if she could do it without tomato and cucumber but that was not an option because according to the recipe. Do I have to throw away the tomato and cucumber myself? That would be a waste. Finally succeeded at the AH 2 Go

Price quality is not very high with sandwiches quite expensive. The coffee is also quite expensive for the quality. The store is in a very efficient location between the train tracks and the metros. It is also easy to walk in and you are usually helped quickly.

Leidsestraat 6The worst food (if you can call it that) my girlfriend and I have ever tried. The waffles were old who knows how long, they just heated them up in the microwave, and only the seller knows how he calculated the price. It's our fault for not looking at the reviews beforehand, otherwise we would never have taken food from there. At first it all looks delicious and nice, but in reality it's the opposite.

Stadionplein 113Terrible service. Went with my mom and ordered two cappuccinos, a carrot cake, and a sandwich. They were out of carrot cake despite it being early in the morning, so we had to pick something else and chose a pastry instead. The coffees and pastry arrived after 15 minutes, which is a lot considering the simple order, but the sandwich never came. We waited another 20 minutes, then noticed they started serving people who arrived later. When I asked about the sandwich, the waitress claimed they “didn’t get the order” even though she was the one who took it and repeated it out loud. No apology, just asked if I wanted something else instead, which made no sense. I ended up canceling because it would take another 20+ minutes. Coffee was not good, and the pastry was just okay. The coffee was served boiling in a cup without a handle and with no saucer, so there was no way to hold it comfortably or place the spoon anywhere. Overall, terrible service, zero accountability, and a weak excuse for their mistake.
