Not a fan of the service. An extra 10 euros was charged by mistake. That can happen, but at least some decent communication was provided instead of an irritated-looking saleswoman. Unfortunately, the sausage roll, which cost 3 times the price at AH, was also not heated up.

A fine spot in itself; they asked several times: how does it taste? The vegetable spread melt was a toasted sandwich with vegetable spread and a little cheese. Nothing else with it. Decent to eat, but nothing special. The price of €12.95 is definitely out of proportion.

This place has been my favorite bakery for the past two years. I love their multiple seeds pave bread and croissants. Such a shame I have to move. I’ll buy a bunch of breads and put them into the freezer. Sometimes, we have to wait a long time to get one bread, but it is worth it. Employees are always smiling and kind.

The staff was friendly, but we found the price truly exorbitant. Almost €40 for four sandwiches and two drinks is simply too much for what you get. The sandwiches were fine, but the price-quality ratio is not right for us.

The breakfast was varied and delicious. I'd gladly come back. The service was also excellent.

Bought orange tompouces here for King's Day. Over 3.50 euros for a soggy sponge. Not really edible. The pudding was tasteless, the pastry was soggy, and the glaze looked like putty. I would walk on over to a good bakery.

Recently had a delicious lunch with a nice tea. Good service and a beautiful shop.

Our lunch was completely forgotten and we had to chase after it ourselves. Bad start. And when the food finally arrived, we weren't even looked at. The waitress placed the food down without any effort or attention, and there were absolutely no apologies. The €4.50 chai latte was also disappointing: lukewarm milk with a tea bag in it. All in all, a bad place. 1 star out of 5.

3.9 seems wrong, everybody just manage your expectations better… it is an upscale local *bakery chain* with service, plus points for product variety, stick to their core offer. I feel more comfortable here than at ‘performative’ cafés like adjacent always crowded “Village” or long lines“mischa” Also, the omnipresent five star scale is relative-to-expectation. 4=nominal, not 5! Do not equate 5=forgetful, then what is beyond/exceptional?

I have been coming to this bakery weekly for over a year to pick up sourdough bread and have always been served kindly. That is precisely why I was truly shocked today by how I was treated. Today at 1:59 PM, I bought bread here, paid for it, and asked if it could be kept for a while to pick up later. That was no problem at all. When I returned later to pick up my already paid order, I was immediately approached in a very unpleasant manner upon entering by a young female employee who said that dogs are not allowed and that I had to leave the premises. I was stunned, because I have been coming here for a long time with my small dog, who has never been a problem before. On the contrary, the staff was always friendly, and my dog ​​was actually welcomed positively in the past. I have also been to another branch several times, even to eat there, and this was never an issue there either. If there is indeed a policy regarding an open kitchen, then that should be clearly and visibly indicated, for example with a sign on the door. That was completely lacking. Moreover, this could have been communicated earlier in a normal, respectful manner, especially to a regular customer who had already paid and was only coming to pick up his order. What bothered me most was not just the content, but above all the tone and the way this was handled: abrupt, unfriendly, and without any understanding or decency. That is not how you treat regular customers. I find this unfair, inconsistent, and very disappointing. If the rules have changed, communicate that clearly and treat people with respect. I expect, at the very least, that this situation be discussed internally and that employees be better directed regarding how they treat customers. Regular customers deserve consistency, clarity, and a respectful approach.

Unfortunately, the experience hasn't been what it used to be lately. The bread (from baguette to sourdough) is very tough and lacks the freshness of the past. It feels like it's a day old, even though we just bought it fresh. We hope this is a temporary dip, because we'd love to see the quality of the past return!

High tea with a pregnant woman. We were politely informed at the front desk that everything would be suitable. However, the sandwiches were with tuna and mackerel, both of which are not recommended for pregnant women by the Nutrition Center. When we pointed this out, we were bluntly told that it was smoked and that we were being difficult about it. We calmly explained again that the preparation method doesn't matter with predatory fish, but the woman behind the counter dismissed it as nonsense. The cakes were delicious.

taste was really good HOWEVER our desert came later than our coffee which got cold by the time we could enjoy our coffee (it is because they forgot to bring deserts). Also they forgot to heat up some of the deserts. And no tissues. Service was really annoying.

Beautiful place. The muffin and bread are amazing. The chai latte is really lacking. Its just a back and nothing special at all sadly

We had coffee only. 5⭐️ for the ‘flat white’ very very good & strong but very smooth. Also friendly service & nice atmosphere. As good or better than any coffee I’ve had anywhere, including Australia…the home of the ‘flat white’.

Very friendly and helpful staff that advised me on what I might like to eat. Cappuccino and sourdough with avocado, cream cheese and a sprinkling of nuts and seeds were delicious.

Great flat white, a delicious pie and nice service. Will come back for the bread next time.

Staff was very friendly but I saw something that grossed me out a bit. A fellow customer ordered what looked like a scone with cream and jam. They were given an open jar of jam and a spoon, which they then used to put the jam on the scone and then scoop more jam out of the jar after each bite. It makes me wary of the hygiene practices here.

Pre-baked factory bread. Tough, rock-hard crust. Albert Heijn/Lidl bread tastes better. Super friendly staff, though. Expensive bread.

We arrived at 8:30 to pick up some rolls. You expect freshly baked goods at a bakery, but unfortunately, we received croissants that were clearly from the day before. Especially considering the price, that's very disappointing.

Extremely unfriendly staff, learning how to make the sandwich for the first time, telling us off for asking how long it will take after waiting 15 mins for 3 basic sandwiches. 25 mins total, still no sandwiches.

If you love fresh bread, you've come to the right place! Deliciously crispy and fresh from the oven. I tried several toppings, but Chris went for a simple classic: just avocado. Simple, but so delicious! Super friendly service.

Ik bestelde een croissant en een kop koffie verkeerd. Ik stond bij de croissant en zag dat het prijskaartje €1,99 aangaf. Maar toen ik moest afrekenen, was de prijs ineens €3,25! Toen ik aan het personeel vroeg hoe dat kon, vertelden ze me dat dit "servicekosten" waren omdat ik in het café bleef zitten om mijn croissant te eten. Hoe belachelijk is dat! Ik heb nog nooit eerder gehoord van zoiets in Nederland. Ik vertel iedereen in mijn omgeving om daar niet naartoe te gaan, want dit is echt absurd.

I noticed that it’s always busy and packed here, had the opportunity to walk in on a quieter moment for once and really take it all in. I have to say that this place does live up to its hype. The raspberry tart was sweet, the dough was flaky and buttery. Even the cream was silky; you could taste the vanilla. We also tried the rosemary focaccia and bought the tuna salad: it all tasted fresh. I would say the pricing is very fair for the quality you get, this place and taste have an authenticity compared to other bakeries and patisseries. Highly recommended!

Prima broodjes hier, maar ronduit prijzig. Wordt gerund door niet erg geïnteresseerde studentes. Beetje smoezelig. Wel lekkere broodjes en prima koffie.

We picked up a good to go here, but it really isn't worth the money... We got 2 loaves of bread and a pre-made sandwich. I understand, of course, that the values ​​are higher, but it doesn't look that way and I honestly believe that this pre-made sandwich should no longer have been given away. In my opinion, participating in to good to go is against waste and I had the feeling that it was to be able to make some nice money on old stuff.

Had high tea with a friend. It was fine. Nothing special. Sandwiches with different types of fillings, including 2 fish. And standard sweet snacks. I've definitely had better ones. It was nice and quiet and a pleasant atmosphere to chat with my company.

The place specializes in bread sandwiches. I felt that they were a bit overpriced, given the taste of the sandwiches. The sandwich had fresh bread. But I assume fresh bread can be found for a lesser price elsewhere in Utrecht.

Very kind workers and very good products BUT sitting to eat in adds an increment of 67% in the price of some of the products. For example, 1 croissant to go cost 1,99€ BUT for EAT IN the same croissant cost 3,25€. I understand the extra price for the service but not a 60%+ extra.

Kate helped us and as foreign travelers we felt very welcome! The orange juice was so good as well as the latte. We got the pesto and the ham/gouda sandwiches - they were AMAZING. The restaurant is adorable and so cute and clean. My favorite place we went the whole week!

We were here for a High Tea. I don't recommend this one. Sandwiches and sweets were tasty, but with three people we had to ask for new tea water several times because the jug was too small to fill 3 cups. Tea is simply in tea bags, nothing special is done with this. The staff doesn't like you and you have to ask for everything. Price quality not i ratio. I would go somewhere else next time.

We are well-known daily customers for their bread and croissant which are fine. However, do not go there for lunch. We ordered two €12 sandwiches which were late and dreadful worth no more than 6 to €7 at a push. Really slow service, although it was quite a busy time Either way good enough bakery terrible cafeteria- avoid

A really nice bakery for sourdough bread!

Ridiculous service - When we ordered two saucijzenbroodjes, the lady behind the counter asked if we wanted to take away or eat there. We asked if we could sit momentarily at the bar counter to eat them, and she said yes. What she did not mention is that the 2 minutes of having the broodjes while sitting there cost 1,50€ per person (which is basically one-third of the item's price). So close to being considered a scam.

Wasn't much use. Staff not really friendly either. Map could be more extensive.

The service was not satisfactory at all. It took way too long for the food to be prepared (we waited 1h). The worst is that the food was so mediocre and overpriced which left us with a bitter feeling when we were exiting the place. Won’t recommend.

After scouring the streets in Utrecht I came across this eatery where I had an iced coffee and a 'meat pastry' (this turned out to be just a sausage roll). The sausage roll was tasty and warm, but otherwise not very special. My iced coffee was as you would expect an iced coffee. Service was top notch and it is a nice place to sit for a while.

The staff is very kind, the quality of one of the three products we bought was quite low. It was surprising, as this chain used to provide great bakery items.

Great 'sandwich' but what outrageous prices. And then also charge 15% more than advertised. The sign in the store says '€8.50' for a 'sandwich with feta' (already very expensive) but then you have to pay €9.75. 'yes, the plate has not been adjusted yet - hihi' ... for 2 slices with feta and avocado. Move on people, for €10 you can really get more value for your money anywhere in the city center.

Bakery with small cafe area at the back. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Cakes and coffee good. Unfortunately no hot sandwiches available as grill wasn’t on even though it was several hours before closing time.

Without notice, almost a euro per piece of cake is charged extra, on top of the price stated on the price tag. “Because you sat down to eat it” is the only explanation. Bizarre.

Attentive and helpful staff and their bread is the best that I have tried in the netherlands. If you want a good sourdough bread, this is the place to go!

The range of products is excellent. Hospitality is really terrible. A lady who has also worked at another location. Maybe she chose the wrong profession if she can't even greet customers politely. Of course everyone has a bad day sometimes, but she was often unfriendly at the other location as well.

Ok, I will be quite honest and direct, but keep this as a suggestion for improvement: the coffee was terrible, incredibly acid. In Italy you will not survive a week. The coffee machine was good and usually there are courses offered to make coffee, invest in one of them. The size of a simple Americano was wrong (yes I never order an espresso outside Italy... to many unpleasant experiences). The nice side: pastries are delicious and the place is nice and cosy. You can have a good time there.
