The fries, hamburgers, and currywurst were delicious. The soft-serve ice cream was also a treat. The prices are rather high, due to the good location.

A wide selection of dishes is available. The friendliness and service could be significantly improved. Perhaps it will be better on the next visit. Prices are shown on the menu in my photos.

The food is good. I can only echo the assessment of the employee at lachs lachs 123. It couldn't be more unambitious.

To start with, the cheese puffs are good. The bear claw is small. The fries are fried in old oil. And the bag and snacks smell like fish, so they are fried in the same oil. Prices are a bit above average, but for that one tourist who comes, that doesn't matter. By the way, I had to go to the toilet quite soon after eating.. There is otherwise little else in the neighborhood.

Yes, I'd gladly give more stars, but since we didn't get any food and were professionally ignored – only 1 star. The young person behind the counter simply ignored three customers for almost 10 minutes. FAIL! Instead of saying: "Just a moment, please, I'll be right with you!" Nothing happened, not even when he got to the order window. What an amateur! 2026 Wow…unbeatable in terms of friendliness and cheerfulness. You can really feel the "I don't care" attitude towards the customer. After three years, nothing has changed except the prices. 2023 Just try communicating with your customers; they're the ones who're spending the money. Good service is something else entirely!!! Amateurish performance. What a shame.

Mediocre quality products. In any case, no fresh fries and the chicken nuggets tasted like fish. Probably fried in the same oil as the kibbeling. Soft serve ice cream tasty.

Picked up fries and snacks. The fries, in particular, were disappointing. There were a lot of hard fries mixed in. The snacks were fine. There is plenty of space to eat outside there, and they cater to the children as well.

The staff there are incredibly friendly, super fast, and the food is really delicious! The prices are also perfectly reasonable. You basically get exactly what you expect. It's definitely worth a visit!

This was a rip-off!! The 130-gram satay didn't even weigh half that and wasn't even a satay. The fries are dry and tasteless, and the frankfurter sausage was exactly like a small mushroom sausage.

I paid €6.50 for 3 skewers with barely any meat; it wasn't even a satay, and the frankfurter was just a swan sausage.

We were very satisfied with the staff, prices, and food. The cheeseburger meal deal is highly recommended. Juicy, excellent ground beef patty with fries and a drink.

We've been coming here several times for at least seven years now whenever we're on holiday in Cadzand. We're absolutely thrilled with the service, the prices, and the quality. We can wholeheartedly recommend the food there.

This is our second year in the area, and we always love coming back to Fritura! In my opinion, they have the best kibbeling around! The Burger De Luxe is also delicious… and to top it all off, a soft-serve ice cream 🤤 Thumbs up! We'll definitely be back!

Excellent value for money! Great atmosphere and very child-friendly.

The hamburger consists of a kind of frikandel patty and otherwise only contains the burger bun and ketchup. It should probably be taken off the menu. Or at least they could make the effort to use a proper patty with burger sauce. Top it with a lettuce leaf, onions, and tomatoes, and then you could almost call it a burger... The frikandels and fries were okay, although the fries got dry quickly. But there's probably not much you can do wrong with those.

Despite the reviews, we took a chance here and had fries with the family. Better than expected! The battered fish was tasty, the fries nice and crispy and not too salty. The bowls were sufficiently full and the sauces were tasty too. A lovely spot in the shade and finished off with a fantastic soft serve ice cream with chocolate dip – the liquid kind that gets so deliciously crispy and hard on your ice cream. We will definitely be back!

I used to go to Fritura t Gemaal, the best in the area. But this was the last time; food bad, service bad, and the atmosphere bad too. It didn't feel right either. Fries okay, frikandel lukewarm, and bratwurst undercooked 😟 staff 😟

I’ve been coming here for 33 years. Unfortunately, it will stay at 33 years. This had nothing to do with the chip shop where I ordered my first stewed beef fries and devoured my first Snickers ice cream; I can hear you thinking, "You're kidding!" No, I'm not. This was a chip shop that was simply good: top location, top parking spot, top terrace, top air castle, and the food was top-notch too. Right, where shall I begin: The fries: characterless, dry, salty, and tasteless. Stewed beef: fine, but way too little for the price. The German sausages: WHAT WAS THIS ALL ABOUT??? I still haven't figured out how they were prepared, but one thing I do know: it wasn't the right way. How hard can it be? This is a real shame; I mean, the rest was top-notch, even a toy for the little one with his meal. But this was simply one of the worst snack bar moments I've had while sober. Perhaps it was already a tourist trap in the past, but it didn't taste like one; now it looks and tastes like a tourist trap.

A very peculiar experience…. 3 euros for fries in a plastic container, and then 1.30 (!!!) for mayonnaise! Furthermore, so much salt had been thrown on it that it really wasn't tasty anymore. And as the cherry on top: using bread rolls from the day before yesterday and briefly placing them on the griddle to serve a croquette on top… (without standard mustard) really bone dry. Particularly unappetizing! In short; these people are really only looking out for themselves, clever entrepreneurs searching and experimenting to find “what they can get away with”. However, it was 6:20 PM, so the rest of the options were closed….

I quickly picked up some fries, a special sausage roll, and a meat croquette after shopping and took them back to the holiday home. Very tasty.

We waited there from a Wednesday in May for a lunchtime snack. The staff is very friendly and serves customers in English as a matter of course. The menu is extensive, and the selection is good. Yes, it's just a snack bar and they only serve fried food, but you know that when you go there. The sassy snacks are great, and there's a bouncy castle for the kids.

The fries were the best I've had in a long time... That's why they get three stars. The currywurst was the worst thing I've ever eaten in my life... disgusting. And I don't even want to talk about the service. But the atmosphere outside is very nice.

't Gemaal was once the place for a tasty, affordable snack. Nothing remains of that now. The fries always taste stale and the "deluxe" burgers are anything but deluxe. They are dry and overcooked with wilted lettuce. On top of that, you pay a so-called "takeaway tax" (it is even stated on the receipt). I used to enjoy coming here, but today was the last time.

The food was an absolute disaster! The kibbeling was something massively coated in breading. The cheese soufflé was almost empty inside, but again, heavily breaded. The meat croquettes were slightly better, but still awful. On top of that, the service was unfriendly, and the expiration date on the Coke had been wiped off. Find a different chip shop instead.

Very tasty, reasonable prices, and plenty of seating. Among other things, they offer delicious kibbeling (battered and fried fish), meat croquettes, and also vegetarian vegetable croquettes.

Super crispy fries, well-seasoned. A large portion costs €4, which seems reasonable compared to prices back home. The frikandel at €2.50 is also worth the money. Everything is frozen, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. There's also a playground and a bouncy castle for the kids. We'd happily come back again.

If you're in a hurry, head to a chip shop. This one is recommended – and hasn't changed for years! The price, quality, and portion sizes are all right, so you can forget about the surrounding restaurants with their exorbitant prices. Pizza, kibbeling, fries, and, to finish, a delicious soft-serve ice cream are all great (but so are the bitterballen, frikandeln, and burgers). There's plenty of seating, a parking lot, and a small playground. So just go there and try it. Enjoy!

I understand that when you're near a tourist park, you don't have the ambition to deliver top quality, but this is simply awful and has little to do with good fries, and certainly not with those prices. Moreover, the salt is sprinkled over the fries in the collection bin, which is illegal in the Netherlands. The person running the place was probably having a bad day; they didn't seem interested, and there was hardly any noise coming out. 🤷 It's a real shame, and it's unnecessary.

A great snack bar near the beach, and it's been around for ages. I always have to stop by here when I'm on vacation.

This review refers solely to the incredibly bored and unfriendly employee, who took and processed the relatively large number of orders with a lack of enthusiasm and enthusiasm. The long wait may not have been entirely necessary—but considering he was the only one there, it was acceptable. In retrospect, the food was excellent, reasonably priced, and definitely worth the visit. As a German, it's also worth mentioning that there was a small selection of German specialties (bratwurst in a bun, currywurst, frankfurters). Overall, a good experience. PS: Maybe the employee was just having a bad day?! :)

Delicious chip shop, good stuff.

Classic Dutch frying, a lovely first stop for beachgoers or those returning home. A friendly staff member gave us great advice with our kids. A bouncy castle and climbing frame in the beer garden are included.

We were here in the summer of 2024. The food was good, the ambiance was okay. But the gentleman who was working there at the time either doesn't like tourists or isn't passionate about his job. In any case, we felt quite uncomfortable. It may have been an isolated incident, but we'll probably avoid this place in the future.

Just the thing for a bike ride: delicious fries, meatballs, and fried fish... Beautiful garden, well-coordinated team. Regular prices. Highly recommended.

Superb chip shop and more. Right by the entrance to the Swarte Polder and the Roompot Park. It has its own parking lot and a children's playground. Plenty of seating. 1 star deducted for the unfriendliness behind the counter...maybe stressful.

Very good fritura. We bought three special fries with a crocandel and satay skewers, along with three drinks. It was delicious, and the owner was very friendly and attentive. He noticed that we were German tourists who didn't speak Dutch and called out our number in German for our order. Thanks for the service. We returned after years, and the fritura is just as good as in previous years. The prices are higher, of course, but still reasonable.

Contrary to expectations, the 5-serving fries actually serve 4 people, 3 of whom are on their last legs. A little more salt could have been added, though, and without the sauce, they were a bit dry. The peanut sauce was fantastic, and all the delicacies were delicious, including the cheesecake, bami, fried roll, etc. The price is perfectly reasonable.

The kibbeling was – I believe – frozen and lacked any added seasoning. After asking for remoulade or ravigotte sauce, it turned out that tartare was the only "fish" option, which the seller claimed was the same as remoulade. The kibbeling itself was fine, very greasy so much so that it even squirted out while eating, but otherwise okay.

Unfortunately, it wasn't good. Old, rock-hard, reheated poffertjes, half-roasted currywurst, Bami with a hard crust on the outside, an indefinable mush on the inside. Only the fries and the curry sauce were OK.

Good chip shop. Sometimes it gets busy, so they temporarily stop taking orders. Since we were on vacation, we weren't in a hurry.

Delicious, always freshly fried fries at reasonable prices. Nice outdoor terrace and a restroom. A good place for a snack, especially since most beach pavilions now focus only on fine dining.

The fries tasted good. The fish, on the other hand, was a different story. Very pricey, and when I asked if it was cod, they said yes. However, it tasted more like pollock. I asked again afterward if it was actually cod, and they kept saying it was. In that case, I found it poorly prepared cod. It was really on the pricey side, especially with the sauce. The ice cream was good, but small. I personally won't be returning, but I understand if others do.

Went to get fries. They were very salty. The service was poor, I even got the feeling they weren't really interested.

The currywurst here is really delicious...the prices are reasonable...the owner could benefit from being a little more friendly...

Sate menu with fries is fine. You get 3 satay sticks. The satay sauce is edible, but I know tastier satay sauce. The fries are a good portion I think. You can also sit outside but I took it to the park next door where I stayed.

Slechte snackbar! Kregen koude friet, we gingen terug. Kregen we het antwoord: ja wat wil je dat ik doe? Ik kan het in de magnetron zetten. Daarna nieuwe friet gekregen en wilde ze dat we de saus opnieuw betaalde voor €1,- Ik ga hier nooit meer terug en zeker geen aanrader.

The ambiance was good for a snack bar. The service was friendly. After all that fish, I just felt like a currywurst with fries. And what can I say, it was the best currywurst I've had in a long time.
