Food was decent but the wait time is insane starters went quick but the main took another hour. The servers were nice but clearly untrained bringing a bottle of water instead of an extra glass, forgetting the cutlery multiple times & serving the wrong drinks and food. Definitely a TikTok trendy restaurant.

A Night of Slow-Motion Dining: When the Hugo Spritz Became Our Best Friend Well, where do we even begin? Our party of six rolled into this cozy little restaurant at 7:30 p.m. full of excitement, hungry bellies, and a long-overdue catch-up session. Little did we know, we were about to enter a time warp where minutes stretched into eons and the focaccia developed its own geological era. We kicked things off optimistically by ordering a pitcher of Hugo Spritz. Now, we thought this would be the classic start to a lively evening: a quick clink of glasses, a refreshing sip, and off we go. Except, well, the Hugo took a little field trip somewhere in the space-time continuum before it reached our table. We had to wave down the server just to get a drinks menu, because apparently the cocktails were playing hide-and-seek from the main menu. When the Hugo finally arrived, it was a nice relief—though by then, we were already on our way to mastering the art of patience. Now, let’s talk about the great Espresso Martini Price Mystery. One of our friends ordered it, only to find out the price had mysteriously gone up by one euro compared to the menu. Our waitress checked, shrugged, and basically said, “Yep, the bar says that’s the new price, deal with it.” Not that a single euro is going to break the bank, but it was a little eyebrow-raising that they wouldn’t honor the printed price. We just rolled with it, because at this point, the night was clearly writing its own comedy script. Then came the real test of endurance: the wait for food. The focaccia, which had been sitting on the counter like a museum artifact, took a good 45 minutes to reach us. By the time it landed, it was the kind of stale that could probably survive a nuclear winter. We had two servings of fried zucchini flowers and some vitello tonnato that eventually showed up after an hour or more. The starters were actually decent once they arrived, but we were definitely on the slow food train—emphasis on slow. So, after what felt like a delightful eternity of playing cards and bonding over our mutual hunger, our main courses finally emerged from the kitchen. Three pizzas, two pastas, and one steak later—delivered around two and a half hours into our epic odyssey—we were finally able to eat for real. And you know what? The mains were pretty darn good! Except for one lemony cacio e pepe that might have had a little identity crisis. Everything else was genuinely tasty once it finally landed on the table. Dessert, however, was a different story. We thought we’d wrap up on a sweet note, but the desserts had other plans. The pistachio tiramisu seemed to have forgotten any hint of sweetness and came off oddly salty, while the filled doughnut just tasted off. We did manage to embarrass our friend with a sparkler and a fake birthday moment, so at least we got a good laugh out of it. In the end, we spent over three and a half hours there, had some good laughs and a bit of a marathon wait, and left feeling like we’d just filmed a reality show episode called “Survivor: Dinner Edition.” So, in summary, our night turned into a bit of a slow-motion adventure with a few sassy twists. We got to know our deck of mini cards very well, made a drinking game out of the dessert debacle, and left with a story that’s honestly more memorable than a perfectly smooth evening might have been. We’re probably not rushing back, but hey, at least we had a lot of laughs and a lot of Hugo Spritz refills to keep us going. If you’re in the mood for a dinner that doubles as a patience-testing social experiment, this might be your spot. Otherwise, maybe just grab a pizza somewhere else. Thanks for the ride, and bon appétit… eventually!

I made a reservation here on the recommendation of friends. What a wonderful evening we had. The food, the atmosphere, and the service were worth repeating. Normally, I grab a quick bite at a pizzeria and leave, but this time I had a wonderful evening. Exceeded my expectations.

Food was horror, the carpaccio tasted like onions and garlic, probably the meat was cut with the same knife they dice onions, the pastas were cold and bland, and when we wanted to send them back to the kitchen, the server replies to us “that’s unfortunate” and that was it, no refund, no complementary anything. Grotesque experience especially for a birthday dinner.

All the food was extremely salty and cold. Both the appetizers and main courses were extremely salty. We couldn't finish it.

They didn't have typical Italian dishes, like spaghetti carbonara. The ravioli had too much tomato sauce and was finished (garnished) with mustard. The gnocchi was dry.

What a wonderful place. I walked in spontaneously. This is truly a place to relax with delicious, authentic Italian cuisine. Warm atmosphere and excellent service. We spent a pleasant few hours there. I'll definitely be back.

The staff is understaffed; waiting two hours for primi piatti is simply unacceptable... Luckily, we were able to cancel the rest of our order and head home. The second-most expensive wine (Valpolicella) lacks structure (like licking a stamp). The Prosecco is okay, as are the appetizers. The acoustics are unbearable, and normal conversation with your partner is impossible. It's not the service; the girls are certainly not picking their noses, but too much goes wrong at Volare to have a pleasant evening.

Absolutely love this place! The food is downright amazing, the staff are the salt of the earth, and the whole vibe feels like one big happy family dinner. Can’t imagine a better spot in all of Amsterdam!

La comida era realmente deliciosa. Cada plato estaba lleno de sabor y muy bien presentado. El ambiente era cálido e IT, por lo que es un lugar muy cómodo y agradable para pasar la noche. In short, they're not honoring their own agreements. It's a shame. (The owner's copy-pasted reply is, of course, worthless.) I came for a 2-pizza-and-drink deal for €50. We chose a slightly more expensive pizza and were told a few euros would be added to the €50, which was fine. The receipt showed everything was charged separately, plus €30. I asked for my money back and got my tip back in 50-cent coins.

A truly top-notch spot in the West, definitely recommended for a delicious evening out. Great service and fantastic cuisine.

Do not go there with a big group! We got our food at 2130 after making a reservation at 1930. When the food was there we got way too little food for the amount of people and when we mentioned it they suggested that we could order some more food. We basically paid 35 euros per person (9 people) for 2 pizzas and a plate of pasta.

I don’t usually feel scammed, but this restaurant really left a bad taste in my mouth — literally and figuratively. We were at a friend’s birthday dinner with a pre-agreed two-course menu for €35 per person (excluding alcohol). What actually showed up? A couple of bread baskets, two places of small burrata salad, two pizzas, and one pasta dish — barely enough for half the table. For a group of nine, the total value couldn’t have been more than €100— yet we paid €315. I personally got a spoonful of salad and one slice of pizza, and that was it. Honestly… what exactly were we paying for?

We arrived 15 minutes early for our confirmed reservation after traveling 45 minutes to get there, only to be told they were just about to call and cancel because of a “problem with the kitchen.” Cancelling a reservation just 15 minutes before the scheduled time is incredibly unprofessional, especially without prior notice. After the time and effort we invested, this was extremely disappointing. Would not recommend based on this experience.

I recently had dinner here. Overall, the main dishes (pizza and pasta) and wine were good, but the experience was medium by several disappointing aspects. We waited over an hour before our starters arrived (burrata, carpaccio, and a cold cuts & cheese platter). The cheese on the platter lacked flavor — mostly mozzarella and a very mild cheese, far from the bold Italian tastes one would expect (Grana, Parmesan, Gorgonzola, Pecorino). The charcuterie was served on a mountain of salad, likely to make the portion seem larger, and came with some crunchy vegetables that didn’t add much. No bread was served with the burrata — which seems essential to me. When we asked for some, we were charged €7 for focaccia and a kind of chip-like snack, which felt quite overpriced. And we realised that when I paid at the end. The service was not up to classic standard either — slow and inattentive when we needed something. I know that the level of service in Amsterdam is low compared to other countries so we are in habit. Despite the decent quality of the main dishes, the long wait, high prices, and some questionable choices make it a place I wouldn’t return to.

A brutal experience, the brunch with music has been a complete success. I will repeat for sure.

We hebben hier onlangs gegeten en de kwaliteit van het eten was echt goed. Je merkt dat er Italiaanse koks in de keuken staan – de smaken zijn authentiek en zorgvuldig bereid. Dat was dan ook het hoogtepunt van de avond. Helaas liet de bediening veel te wensen over. De jonge meiden in de bediening leken weinig tot geen horeca-ervaring te hebben. Ze waren vriendelijk, maar totaal niet georganiseerd of oplettend. Gasten moesten lang wachten op hun eten en ook bij ons duurde het erg lang voor er iets op tafel kwam. Tot overmaat van ramp stond er op onze eindafrekening drie nagerechten, terwijl wij er geen hadden besteld – en we waren met zijn tweeën. Dit soort slordigheden zijn echt storend. Kortom: de keuken verdient een dikke pluim, maar de bediening moet dringend professioneler worden aangepakt. Zonde van het potentieel.

DRAMA. We went to this restaurant yesterday to celebrate my daughter's birthday but unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. A few things were ordered as a starter, including a plate of burrata — and it was clearly not good. It stung on the tongue and tasted fermented. I reported this to the waiter and the plate was sent back to the kitchen. Not much later we were asked if we wanted to try a new one. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be good again. When I asked if the chef had tasted it himself, the answer I got was: “Yes.” Incomprehensible. This too went back to the kitchen. Looking back, I'm disappointed that we didn't leave immediately. We decided to stay and ordered two pizzas (bland and tasteless) and two pastas — they were also disappointing. To make matters worse, we received no apology whatsoever about the spoiled burrata. Bill: €160. Really a waste of money. But even worse: a completely failed evening at a time when we had something to celebrate.

We were a group of 13 people and had a semi private dining room. Well organised. The food was very tasty. we were given a bit of everything on the table. Service was a bit clumsy at first because the food was already brought while 2 people were not yet there. Nothing else to comment on

Cozy restaurant with generally good food. The service is friendly but it often takes a long time. They are not really assertive either, but that is a problem of our time. All in all it is highly recommended.

Had a nice evening with good food at Volare! The pumpkin with burrata was especially recommended! The pizza was also good, nice tomato sauce and had a lot of flavor. Only the scroppino was a bit too sweet and seemed to come from a slushy machine. Furthermore, it is a cozy place with a good atmosphere where I would like to come back again.

We were there for a birthday party and with a big group (25-30 people). I must say the food was deliverd all at once so the service is good and the food was good. Pizza were nice and tasty aswel but the Burata is a must try. Price wise, you pay for what you will get.

Just one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. The staff is welcoming, the atmosphere is exceptional. All the dishes are delicious, the products are fresh and homemade and you can feel it. Special mention to the provola e pepe pizza and their pistachio tiramisu dessert!

We had a nice corner table for a birthday dinner. The starters were fast, calamari was super good. But the waiter took it away even though we were still eating. Then two of the pastas my friend ordered were served cold, so they asked for new ones. They got new ones after the rest of us finished our food and it was apparently too cheesy although it was a truffle pasta. Two other friends’ pastas were also too salty. I ordered a pizza with anchovies and even without the anchovies it was way too salty. It didn’t feel authentic but the restaurant interior was very beautiful and spacious. It’s nice for pictures but for food I would not really recommend. There were these frat boys who came with a big group and were being a complete menace. They were super loud, rude, and disrespectful. Everyone in the restaurant was uncomfortable. They would yell and swear, sing songs without being mindful of other customers. Some of them even threw up on the table which instantly made some of us lose our appetite. I wish someone would have told them to quiet down. I don’t think i would come here again but if they work on their service and taste better then it has potential to be a restaurant with better ratings.

Normally I always enjoy coming to Volare (I live in the same street), but unfortunately I did not have a good experience last Thursday evening, 11/28/24. The five of us had made a reservation at 7:00 PM, and the entrance was as good and welcoming as ever. We ordered five pizzas and each a drink and a bread basket in advance. The wine we received was very sour, but after indicating this, the person who kindly served us all evening gave us a new glass, which was great. At one point it was already after 8:00 PM and the pizza still wasn't there. The person who helped us neatly indicated that it was really coming soon. Then it still took a while, and then she came to indicate that we were getting a drink on the house as an apology. Very nice, so we all ordered a drink. However, only two came at first, and then we had to ask for the others twice more - the last one came when the pizza was almost gone (not really the best way to make up for something if you have to "nag" about it yourself) . After 8:30 PM the pizza finally arrived, but by now we were already a bit over hungry after the long wait. Two pizzas were quite cold, and some of the crusts were burnt. We ate some of it, but when the waiter came to collect the plates, we honestly said that it was a bit disappointing; We hadn't eaten a large portion either. She politely indicated that she found it annoying and was going to discuss it. We ordered two more tiramisu to end the evening nicely, and they were just as good and delicious as always. When we wanted to pay, the person who had kindly served us all evening was apparently no longer working, and someone came to the table who had not helped us with the bill all evening. The bill was incorrect (the drinks we had received from the "house" were listed on it, and there had been no feedback regarding the pizzas). We explained this again to the person, and she would discuss it. Then this took a long time again, and we decided to get up to pay the bill ourselves. There we found the girl in question busy talking to another colleague (I think the manager). Instead of taking stock and apologizing for the mistakes that had clearly been made at our table, the colleague in charge behaved very aggressively and unfriendly. She said that we had not waited that long at all (she could see it in the system), and that the pizzas could not have been cold (there were heat lamps) - we should have indicated this (which we did at the person who helped us, but clearly there had been no transfer from the person who had stopped her shift and/or the manager was not aware of our table). She also told us that there was a new girl in the service, so she couldn't do much about it. After a whole evening of just being patient and kind, this really went the wrong way and we now became a bit irritated to be approached in this way, and then as Christmas on the cake she also said that she was our " attitude" didn't like. Not really the welcoming or reflective attitude you'd expect after a disappointing evening full of mistakes. Ultimately, with pain and effort, the drinks and two pizzas could be removed, but a "nice evening" was almost impossible and we still had to pay 87 euros for an evening that went like this. Very unfortunate, because it is normally a very nice and cozy place, but there was little hospitality and service this evening. I won't be going there anymore for the time being, and I wouldn't recommend it to others either.

I checked the allergens for different dishes and chose one that based on the allergens menu, it not contain gluten. I do not have an issue with cross contamination but I can not eat gluten itself. I mentioned this to the waitress and she said she would request the dish to be made indeed gluten free, which was weird since the menu said it did not contain it. Fast forward 30 mins after leaving the restaurant I started to feel unwell, vomited and same next day (among other symptoms I only get when I am intoxicated with gluten) the rest of the food I ate that day prior to the restaurant was 100% gluten free, so the intoxication could only come from what I ate at this restaurant

Nice, ambient place. Unfortunately the staff doesn’t really pay attention to their guests so we were waiting a long time on our entrants and main courses. Eventually we had to remind them in order to get our food. Entrants were nothing special. Pizzas were undercooked and unfortunately the manager wasn’t very polite when we told her about our experience.

Het was de bedoeling om een fantastische avond te hebben met ons gezin bij Volare. Ik ken het restaurant en had het daarom aan waan mijn gezin om daar te gaan dineren. Wat een teleurstelling werd het. Het eten is er zeker niet slecht maar sommige gerechten juist weer wel. De bediening is enorm met zichzelf bezig en totaal geen overzicht. Wij hebben simpelweg een zeer slechte ervaring met dit diner.

Good service, nice atmosphere. There is not even one pasta option with tomato sauce and also every pizza that has meat on it is spicy (except the calzone) which makes the menu very unbalanced.

I happened to stop by this restaurant because it was near the hotel. I liked that the bathroom was clean and spacious. The food was very delicious, but the beer was a bit disappointing. I recommend it because the pizza is delicious. Meal for 4, 90 euros.

Service was chaotic and made a mistake with the starter, the bill, often bumped into our table and had to ask for a table bottle of water even with wine. This while other tables did receive this. La comida era deliciosa. No teníamos reserva y era sábado por la noche, pero nos sentaron cuando prometimos que no nos quedaríamos más de una hora y media. Sin duda volvería aquí de nuevo. Era el Día de los Caídos y todo el restaurante estuvo completamente en silencio a las 8 pm durante dos minutos. Fue muy conmovedor.

This place was close to where we were staying (the Chasse Hotel). We went in relatively early to eat dinner and sat in the bar area, which is known as Bomboloni's. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had the agliatelle with ragout of ossobuco & oxtail. It was rich and quite tasty. We don't remember what my husband had, but we know it was good.

I visited this place in April and had an awful experience. The service was terrible. We had to repeat our order several times, yet some of the items never arrived. When we asked for the bill, I paid it along with tips. Only after paying, I realized there were many extra items on the bill. To make matters worse, the waiter seemed to be drunk and was more interested in chatting with his friends than serving us. We had to wait for another bill, which I paid again, and the waiter assured us that the previous transaction would be declined. Unfortunately, that was not the case, and I ended up spending an extra 130 euros.

The pizza and burrata were great, but the homemade focaccia was just ok. I still would have given this place a 5-star review but the service was pretty bad. Wait staff was too busy talking to friends where we had to wave and get up to get their attention.

Have been here a few times now with a big group, the food has been excellent each time. The drinks sometimes take a bit longer to come but overall the service is really friendly and it’s a great atmosphere inside! Recommend all pasta and pizza here actually you really can’t go wrong. Pretty funny that this place is listed as "Italian". Food is mediocre, fairly tasteless. Service was awful, they forgot one of our drink orders and as usual with Dutch service it was incredibly slow. 8 Euros for a tiny basket with 4 pieces of bread and some olives lol. The fried seafood entree looks like cereal it's broken into 10,000 little fried pieces and is nasty to eat. They've created a nice ambiance for social media but would be great if they just created nice FOOD.

Our experience at Volare was marred by slow service and tasteless food. It took over 40 minutes to revive three pastas. Dishes arrived cold and lacked flavor, which was a major letdown. When we brought up our dissatisfaction, the manager’s solution was to offer us free drinks instead of addressing the issues directly. This attempt to smooth things over felt inappropriate and unprofessional. I regret to say that I cannot recommend Volare given the poor service and dining experience we had.

The drinks, service and atmosphere is very nice however the food really lets it down. We ordered the burrata for a starter, and the burrata was very dry it seemed as though it was pre-prepared and sat waiting for orders to come through. We both had a pizza for the main, the dough was very nice but the tomato base was not very flavourful, the toppings were ok but overall dissapointing. I would return again only for drinks, but I do not recommend the food.

Het groepsmenu bij Volare is geen aanrader. Voor 32,50 pp krijg je 2 stukjes pizza en wat pasta. Beide zeer basic, de pasta maken we thuis echt beter...Voorgerecht was ook basic maat okee. Al met al is dit menu echt veel te duur voor wat je krijgt, ik kan er helaas niets positievers over zeggen...

I came here regularly because there is a pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant, but the last few times the food here has been seriously substandard. This is how I ate the pasta with truffle here last time. Don't order this. Don't hesitate!! This was also the last time for me.

Atmosphere is good, but upon arrival we were immediately reminded that we had to leave in two hours. When we left, half the restaurant was still empty. Cocktails were watery, but the wine was good. The food was disappointing, one of the pizzas was still soggy. They offered to put it in the oven for a while, but that was ultimately not possible because they were afraid it would burn. In the end it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either.

Cozy tent! Haven't eaten yet but kitchen and meals looked good. Hip intention... we mainly drank delicious Scroppinos there!

20 minutes after arriving, (it was about 9) the music volume was really loud (out of nowhere). It was so loud that, for my table and the other table close to us, people complain about having the ears hurting. Despite not being late at night, the waiters appeared with crackling. We thought the thing was just for a moment, to celebrate someone's birthday, maybe. But no. What came next was loud music after the other, making it impossible to enjoy the intimate vibe of the restaurant, (or even talk to the person in front of you). We asked them to please put the volume a little bit down, and we could see that the table close to us was doing the same. They ignored completely. We left after 20 minutes, with headache and a bad experience.

Good italian food. I choosed baccalà mantecato wih potatoes and olives, pappardelle with deer ragù and porcini mushrooms, tiramisù. Everything was excellent. Attentive and kind service, time perhaps a little slow. Prices ok.

We received a great welcome even though we had not made a reservation. Great service. We came in to have a drink on a deceased grandpa, but left with a smile after a very enjoyable evening. Thank you to the team who made this possible.

Great food, amazing cocktails and just the perfect environment. Have been to Volare in both small and bigger groups and never left disappointed. Really recommend :)
