Walked in got ignored by 3 members of staff. No one takes responsibility I understand it’s hard to get good personal these days, but how hard is it to have people greet you if you have a wait for the host to get to a table policy. Literally had several waiters walk by and ignore eye contact. Good way to make us feel like idiots begging some 18 year olds for attention. Then get some introverted kid that mumbles some unhearable stuff. Good for him going out of his comfort and working in a restaurant but not a plus after that entrance for the whole experience. Food was fine. But expensive, but I guess that’s normal for the location. This was my 3d time here by the way.

Ice cold Amsterdam night… let’s go have a nice warm meal. Guess what, raw cold carrots and spinach is what passes as dinner here.. and for 20 euros.. what an absolute piss-take. Come in and have a cold chicken salad, sitting on a wooden block while our waiters ignore you. If you go don’t bother with the staff, use your mobile and the QR code on the table if you want anything. Come in cold and leave cold.

This place is not bad but does not really reach 5 stars, unfortunately 😓 Portions are big, you will find the taste relatively good, nice people are working there, but it just does not feel better than 4. I am NOT discouraging you from going there: you might find it great, but I am just basing my judgement on the presence of better places on the area.

Last time we tried to go to Wagamama (Utrecht) they only had 4 menu items available so we walked away. This time in Amsterdam they allowed us to order and pay before advising the menu item ordered is not available. There won’t be a next time.

We had a rich ramen, delicious curry with vegan schnitzel and were satisfied with the great food and the very nice service. The prices are absolutely reasonable for Amsterdam standards and the portions are generous. The decor is also nice and at least around 5 p.m. the restaurant wasn't overcrowded.

A restaurant rated 10 is really what you need, tasty food, ok service, great drinks! I recommend!! I can say that I ate three evenings in a row, so I can say that I liked the food, congratulations to the chefs!! The prices are very good, we also have the payment note attached in the pictures for a group of 6 people, we paid quite ok! Thanks for the food! Congratulations for the work done by the whole team!

Le mencionamos esto a la camarera y ella dijo que no podía hacer nada al respecto. Fue muy incómodo. En su impotencia también nos dio el consejo de que comiéramos con las chaquetas puestas. Made us wait 15 minutes for a simple drink. Then they served the wrong 1 which had to be changed. Then they said the junior staff did not know that they are not allowed to give take-aways for liquor drinks so we had to dine-in. Poor staff quality. Not smart enough to run a Wagamama.

Not the place to dine alone as mentioned by other reviews here which is discriminatory. Asked service to bring me the bill and he said yes. First waiter did not bring the bill. Asked a second time with the same waiter and was told to ask another person despite him being available. Mochi balls also took 40 minutes to arrive. Would not recommend as there are plenty of other courteous services around amsterdam.

Had quite some underwhelming food. This is the first time we were disappointed at wagamama. We had been a big fan of their food in London. The table was missing essentials like salt and soy sauce. Gyoza looked burnt and tasted burnt. Kimchi was over fermented (super-sour and melted in mouth). Noodles were quite under-flavored; this is where we missed the table seasoning the most. Stir fry veggies had a good crunch and tasted good, but they were dripping with oil.

I *never* write reviews here, so this is special. I went there with my 3 young children. The staff accommodated the kids’ needs (providing suitable chairs, recommending a better meal option, and being friendly to the kids). 2 hours after leaving the restaurant, I realized that I left my phone there. I called with my Apple Watch, and the lady first made sure that I was the phone's owner by asking me to describe the lock screen and other features. I said that I was alone with kids who were asleep. Would a driver be able to drop it off? She said no and explained that she didn’t want to give my phone to a random driver. She offered to drop it off after her shift as I live nearby. She actually came much earlier, bringing me the phone personally. What a fantastic woman! Staff of the year. Unfortunately, I don’t remember her name, but I’m sure she had reddish-dyed hair (I hope it is not wrong). Thank you so much for the delicious dinner, friendly staff and this wonderful lady for her help ❤️

Full disclosure, it's been some time since my last visit. A place I visited in Chicago recently reminded me of how yummy Wagamama is. Amazing broth. Chicken that makes all the other chicken you've had seem like it must have been fake 😆 Generous portions with additional broth available upon request. Great location to enjoy your company with your food or for going solo and people watching. Check it out. You'll be glad you did 😉

I'm sure the first time I checked the reviews on Googlemaps it was 5/5 Stars with about 38 Reviews. We decided to have a walk untill we got hungry, and come back to this restaurant. I seond check showed this time 4/5 stars out of 1500+ Reviews. Strange.. Still had to check out. - Food average, nothing special. Cheesecake was unswallowble. - Service people were friendly, but seemd like first day on the job. Took long before they came to take the order, after we order it with the QR-Code. After waiting so long, we asked if we could get the beverage first, because we were very thirsty. The guy said if it is ordered, it will come... - Most chairs we from wood with no leaning part for the backe - it took long befor the served the food, before that, they informed us that the "extra" chicken with the dish we ordered took longer and asked if we want to wait for that, or take the dishes first and the "extra" later as soon as it is done. Ofcourse we chose the latter. - too expensive for the food and service - atmophere seeme fine, and the place looked clean and new

We have been to many Wagamama restaurants but this was the poorest experience. The staff was very slow in service. The cocktail was weakly made with too much sugar and when we pointed it out they said they use a standard measure. Would not suggest visiting as there are better options in the area

This used to be one of my favorite restaurant, a go to if I wanted a Japanese curry. (Chicken katsu curry) BUT that dish is not what it was anymore, it used to be a real Japanese dish that reminded me of the curry I ate in Japan. BUT now it’s just a tasteless piece of chicken not even baked in panko. The salad used to have Japanese pickles on it that really had that Japanese taste.. this is no longer. The restaurant had a make over and the interior looks really good and cosy! But maybe they paid a lot for it and are cutting on the food budget to get cheap chicken? I’m never going back there, also because when I entered the waiters (it really was not busy at all, a weeknight) couldn’t find time to seat me because they were too busy with each other. (Max Euweplein) the curry itself still was ok in taste and the white rice too but I guess that’s not so hard. Probably changed owner or something.. I would not recommend this place any more. And havebto find another restaurant for my Japanese curry cravings

Always been a fan of wagamama, but now I'm a bit disappointed. My favorite dish, katsu curry yasai, has disappeared from the menu. I had yaki soba yasai instead, but that was really nothing to write home about. It seemed to be just thrown on the plate, large pieces of pepper and spring onion, pathetic slices of mushroom and not the flavor explosion I'm used to from wagamama. The price tag of 18 euros is really not worth it for a portion of noodles with stir-fried vegetables. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon...

You order food from a QR, without the intervention of a waiter. You pay via mobile phone and in a short time they have brought you what you ordered. It's very comfortable. The food is very good, the best curry I have ever had. Be careful with the spicy curry, it is very good but in the normal one the flavors of the curry are better expressed. Crispy chicken and rice cooked to perfection, all great.

The service, location, and facilities were all fantastic. The food, well. If I wasn’t born and raised Korean, it may have been fine. I ordered the Steak bulgogi noodle dish. To me, it was unseasoned rump steak on a plate of spaghetti with some sweet soy sauce. I was also charged 2 EUR for a thimble size of kimchi. Overall, I’m disappointed that I paid 60 EUR to have my family eat mediocre food. But I don’t blame the staff or the concept…just my poor decisions.

The “kare burosu - ramen” in particular was an absolute delight! The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends or family. Our boys live eating at Wagamama when we’re traveling. This spot was no different! They were very good at catering to our kid’s allergy needs. For example, in the past we’ve been able to order gyoza for the kids, but something changed and the staff highlighted that was not safe for our kids this time. The power juice was fantastic and the Korean bbq bai buns were delicious as usual. The sweet bao buns for dessert were different and a good way to end the meal.

Price-quality ratio used to be top, but has really deteriorated. Ramen was tasty but had a relatively large amount of noodles and few other ingredients, making it not very nutritious. Tried Poke Bowl but not a full portion for 17.95. Fried noodles are better in terms of portion but few vegetables.

I’m visiting for years but the prices go up and up and portions are now als most half as small. That wouldn’t be a bad thing for current economic situation if the ingredients were properly cooked, but my pad Thai was over cooked with boiled water on the plate, onions very big and almost raw, meal arrived 4 minutes after we ordered and it was sorry to say but badly cooked, prepared, veggies undercooked, rice noodles overcooked plate itself was cold and small portion while I paid 19 euros, never coming back, they lost customer coming for at least 7 years ! Never again. 2 stars for service and atmosphere. Same for the small dishes, buns barely filled with what was promised on the menu, it’s a scam nowadays ! Also later at home I got stomach problems and now when I was looking at the guys cooking meals they were not wearing gloves … so I understand now where the toilet visit is coming from… go somewhere else, until they train properly their cooks because if you half the portions at least let them be what it’s promised on the menu at least average standard as their concept used to be.

Each dish is served separately. 15 minutes between each dish, and the last dish only when the rest was finished (60 minutes after the first dish). So don't eat together, eat here alone with the intention of 'shared dining'. When we ask if something can be heated up, the manager responds in a very uncustomer friendly manner. Shame.

Wagamama Chinese new year evening 2024 After a pleasant evening at Wagamama an event/ accident occurred that if managed well did not need to be more than just that…an accident. My daughter was being well behaved (as always especially for a 5 year old) but she had moved away from the table. A common thing children do. Once realised (within seconds) told her to come back to the table and this is when the accident occurred. As my daughter made her way to the table (1-2 meters away) she collided with the waiters who was rushing to get a hot bowl of soup to our table. If our daughter was at the table the accident would not have happened. The soup went all over the floor, partially on the waitress, splashed up and went all over my face and clothes. The splatter from the soup could be seen 1-2 metres into to my table so may well be on our jackets too. One to check in the daylight later. But then it got worse. The manager came to our table with a message and the message was to keep our child under control. On the first time she said this I responded that she’s a good kid and had been at the table the whole time and the one time she escaped the table the incident/ accident happened. So she said she had just been running back from the toilet. I mean…cmon. I know some people don’t want happy kids but she is just that and I would say she was skipping back happily and not dangerously the way it began to feel was being implied. But then she; the manager; repeated again to keep our kid under control. I’m not great with circular or repetitive conversations so I asked if there was anything else she wanted to say. She repeated the message again. At this point I can’t help feeling offended about someone telling me umpteen times how to parent my child. This began to escalate and I saw a bad opportunity whereby my daughter left the table (just to go to her mum) but I reprimanded my daughter and instructed her to sit down but quite sternly. Then asked if this was the measures that the manager was seeking?! (My daughter is now crying in her mums arms ). After being told how to parent it seemed a good opportunity to also point out some management tips to the manager: 1. Do a proper risk assessment and consider your hazards are hot food whilst facing the public including children and elderly people 2. Instruct waiters and waitress not to rush especially when hot food is involved. Especially if it has the potential to burn anyone including staff or members of the public. Customers. 3. Don’t tell people how to parent. No parent is going to take that well. It’s ok to ask politely to maybe reduce noise or try to keep children seated but to persistently tell parents is going to risk a response that is not so nice. 4. I also said as a manager it is good to learn how to diffuse a situation. We were a family and very happy enjoying Chinese new year celebrations (happy lunar calendar for others ) and now our evening was pretty much ruined. In the end I guess they conferred and we were ready to leave and now quite embarrassed and nerves jangled. We only wanted a nice evening and a nice meal and usually cannot go too far wrong in a Wagamama. I mean I’ve been to Wagamama in about at least 3 countries and across many of their restaurants and this was one of my worst experiences in a restaurant let alone a Wagamama. But the manager called Ambre had softened after leaving our table and coming back. I then pointed out that the soup had also gone all over my face (took several swipes and some tissue to remove it from my face) and it was the first one anyone had asked if I was alright. I say that because my wife had asked 5 times if the waitress was ok even when it just happened and shortly after. I thanked her for at least asking and then she said they didn’t want us to pay the bill and came bearing gifts of chocolates for my daughter and (we didn’t quite realise as we really just wanted to leave) but they’d done a free ice cream for my daughter too. On this basis I have written the fairest review I can. The accident was never the issue. I guess accidents happen all the time. It was the management of the after effects. Sufficed to say it is my worst Wagamama experience and at such an auspicious occasion (CNY) has left us quite emotionally drained and flat. The absolute antithesis of what the intention of the evening was. My wife actually offered to pay the bill about three times but I did not. I do not like to have a bad memory and lose money. I’m glad they did try to appease us. It has the door open for us to show that we could come back and show what great customers we actually are and hopefully we can see them in a better light too. For this the overall experience is a 3/5 but should be much lower but the overtures made in the end at diffusing were enough for me to move the rating slightly higher.

Nice place to go out with picky children. The food is good. One point of advice: Wagamama serves salmon from large farmes. This is an unethical choice. Think of pollution, taking fish as food from other places en destroying ecosystems locally and globally. It is time that Wagamama takes responsibility to refuse using food that destroys ecosystems like farmed salmon. With almost 200 restaurants, Wagamama could truly make a huge positive impact!

Terrible experience due to the food. I ordered a chicken tantanmen ramen and there was no no spicy option as is present in the beef version, this ramen arrived too spicy for me I asked to change it and they simply changed the broth but it was still too spicy for my tastes . In any case the food is not as good as it seems from the outside. I don't recommend it.

My daughter and I had been planning on eating dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe but it was all full. We had just about given up after a long day of walking around, so we ended up going here not expecting much (we’ve eaten Wagamama’s before). We were very pleasantly surprised at both the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff! The restaurant is nice and spacious, it gave us plenty of room for me and my daughter to unwind and chat. We were served by a sweet young man (Austin? Adam?) who made sure everything arrived fresh and hot. He was so nice I even left a tip! 10/10 recommend for anyone hungry in Leidseplein!

Went with my family of 5 and had a great time! The staff was amazing, especially two tall young lads were very warm and welcoming. They made sure we got right instructions to order and got us the dishes and all. I believe their names are Adam and Embla but I could’ve mistaken their names but doesn’t matter because all the young waiters and waitresses were just so kind and hardworking. They deserve all the praises, and on top of their dedication their smiles are genuinely heartwarming! We even accidentally said bye to the waitress three times before leaving which was funny but sweet. Would definitely come back many times as it is close to my school’s campus and close to city center. Overall nice atmosphere, amicable staff and stellar service.

They brought the appetizer, which was clearly ordered as an appetizer, right after the main dishes arrived. When questioned, their reply was that their kitchen works like that, and they order and bring everything as they get ready. A warning would have been appreciated so we could place our order in 2 phases. They cleared the table condiments only and left the dirty dishes on the table for a while. Getting the bill to the table was not a simple task. The restaurant was fairly empty and had many servers working. The food tasted good and came out quickly. We were also able to order after just a few minutes of sitting.

Just outside the center and near the hard rock cafe there is this nice place with good food and welcoming staff. You can do everything independently by booking via QR code directly from the table. Good food, definitely a valid alternative to the usual Dutch food.

I ordered chicken soup and wonton soup. Too bad, chicken soup tastes awful and the wonton soup. For €6 there were only three wontons in it. Eating those wontons feels like you're chewing rubber. So I didn't eat them. I haven't tried the rest, so I have no comment on that.
