The staff were friendly and the location + decor was nice. However, the food was extremely bland and passionless, not what you expect when you pay 70 Euro for a meal for 2. Wouldn't recommend and won't be coming back.

Very good service and delicious food

The restaurant was opposite the hotel we decided to have a snack and they were empty. So it was quiet and service would be very quick, as the food is cooked fresh. I ordered the barbecue beef bao buns and the chicken skewers. My husband also had the bao buns with the coated prawns with spring onions. We had three Mochi, mango, chocolate and green tea. All the food was very nice and freshly cooked. I can imagine it is very busy here, luckily we went when it wasn't.

I had the worst food poisoning in my life after their curry ramen.

This review is from February 2023 — hopefully things have changed... I was in such a good mood, I was getting a lot done, I had Dance Monkey in my headphones and I positively waltzed into the Wagamama on Rembrandtplein on Tuesday afternoon and then I greeted the server that came toward me and … nothing. No smile. No greeting. No warmth. Nothing. For this I’d turned off my headphones? I didn’t give up though. So when she led me to a table I didn’t want to sit at and began to prepare the table, I asked if I could sit at another table, sweetly, apologetically, conversationally, and nothing. No attempt was made at any kind of ordinary human interaction. Rather the server actually dodged my attempts at conversation with a scowl and when I grumbled about having to order using the QR code, because I prefer human interaction, she just started to walk away. Literally. I love Wagamama food but a big part of the eating out experience for me is being in another place, soaking up the atmosphere, chatting with the staff, getting to know if possible the people who are helping to feed me and keep me alive. It’s usually not much more than exchanging a few pleasantries with the serving staff but even that is fun for me. And it's important. Good staff make such a difference. Ideally, they should definitely want to be there and they should actively enjoy dealing with people and making them happy. That really helps. If not, the most you can hope for is that they’ve been trained and that they know *how* to deal with people. Even if they don’t particularly enjoy it, at least then they can tell the customer what they want to hear, and speak to them with a modicum of respect and humanity. Or at least fake it. Today I got none of that. All I got was the apathetic stare of someone who didn’t give a damn and apparently had no idea why on earth I seemed to want to have a conversation with her. What really irked me though, was when I tried to explain why I was upset by her lack of friendliness, she just started arguing with me. Arguing! All she had to say was, “Yeah, I know” and smile at me and we’d have been fine. But as it was, I left and had a pizza instead. The people at the pizzeria were nice to me. I’ll go back there. I won’t go back to Wagamama. Done with Wagamama. It's a shame too because I really love their ramen. But if you pay minimum wage to stroppy teenagers and then you don’t train them to do anything more than stare at the ground and point at QR codes, then at best, you’ll go out of business; at worst, you’ll usher in the end of mankind.

Wagamama never disappoints on food, but this location had the best vibes and most wonderful service. Big shout out to Miro, who made me feel so welcome! I was visiting for work and ended up eating here 2 nights in a row. Highly recommend the Wok Fried Greens as a side dish.

Great food! On the other hand, deplorable reception. They explain to us that there is a 15 minute wait even though we have reserved. In short, no need to book... Then no smoothies... We had to request our entry which did not arrive. In short, I recommend wagamama restaurants but not this one!

Lovely and friendly staff who were very accommodating! The food was tasty. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice. However, the toilets are in an awful state and not in keeping with the rest of the restaurant.

It was in this restaurant that I drank grolsch beer for the first time, the best beer I had in Europe.

Food was amazing! Will want to come again because of that. Service wasn't as great. We had a time difference between our two main dishes of 10 minutes. So I already almost had my plate empty before the other one arrived.

Three of us ate early evening. We had to ask four times to order. Each ordered starter and main course. First one starter, then the same person's main course, then my main course ( no starter), then the third person's starter then their main course. When we complained about the random order we were told that's the way they do it, whereby I cancelled my starter. Thank God, we didn't order dessert- it probably would have arrived before the drinks or sometime next week. They're having a laugh. Food fairly good, but will never go back.

Disappointed. Any restaurant serving ramen needs to know that the key ingredient is the broth. In wagamama’s case it is very bland.

Great experience. Very nice place, the waiters are very nice and polite. The ramen is very tasty, one of the best ramen that I tasted. Also they have a big variety of dishes. I really like it will come back. The ramen was ready in less than 15 minutes also great if you're hungry.

The service was good, the food was excellent, the reason for the 4 stars was that one meal came 5 minutes before the other. I was very impressed that I got a choice of white or brown rice as I am a diabetic and brown is key. Thank-you Wagamama

We went for dinner on a Saturday and the food was mediocre but the worst was the service. They took our orders wrong, they did not follow the protocol with a celiac and to make matters worse we had not finished dinner and they played very loud music for us to leave and when we complained to the manager he told us that since they were already out of hours they could do whatever they wanted he wins it. NOTHING RECOMMENDED

Good food, not too cheap but affordable

Bland. That's our main takeaway from this dining experience. We had three varieties of ramen (beef brisket, chicken, pork belly) and the broth in each didn't have much flavor, in spite of ordering the "rich broth." The chicken was pale and boring, the brisket was too heavily shredded and contained no fat (that is, bland). That said, the vibe of the restaurant was lively and the servers were good. Given that this is a chain of restaurants, and this style of food has been successful for other customers, I don't think I'll have a good reason to return.

It’s like an overpriced cheap cafe. The food was actually good but the table were dirty, service was ok, but the worst things is:- you get meals at unbelievably different times. You will have yours and the other person 30 minutes later. Shocking.

I only found Wagama OK 15 years ago when I lived in London. I was in Rembrantplein (July 2023) visiting a couple coffeeshops and I got a bit hungry. Not a lot was open at the time (maybe 15:00). Wagamama was, so I gave it a shot. Seems they have evolved into more of an Asian fusion. What I ordered was quite good. Again, in March 2024, I found myself in Rembrantplein and a bit hungry. I went to Wagamana again and found theur menu even nicer. Looking forward to my next visit in July with my girfriend. I will definitely be taking here there.

Nice clean spacious restaurant with an open kitchen. The ramen was delicious, be sure to try the deserts, especially the mochi! A good choice in Amsterdam city center.

Let’s say they offer kids portions to adults with a topping of generous portions of salt to increase your blood pressure.

Shockingly bad. Half of the food was cold (not lukewarm, really cold) and the bao's were filled with meat that were not filled, see photo. The edamame beans were too hard. Definitely not worth the price-quality ratio.

My friend and I only ordered the chicken katsu curry (hers’ was the vegan version). Really savory and nice flavor: very enjoyable meal. The side salad was a bit too seasoned for my liking given the curry already had some spice! Really attentive service towards any food allergies/restrictions Overall recommend

April 2024: I visited this place for lunch. The plan was to have a ramen with some sides and dessert. The way the place operated on the day was to receive a menu in print and order via the QR code, which can be found on the table. There is the option to tip. The atmosphere had mixed notes. On the one end, the place looks very nice and is decently clean. On the other, it's an open kitchen, and that part got noisy enough to have me pull on my noise-canceling headphones. The internal lighting was at a decent middle intensity, which was pleasant for me. Altogether 4/5. The staff was helpful and pleasant. 5/5 Now to the food. I ordered (1) Yasai Gyoza Ramen with no sambal, with three extra pieces of yasai gyoza, (2) vegan ribs, (3) coconut reika ice cream. The vegan ribs arrived first; this was a nice surprise for me; the taste was good (plant-food-like), and the feeling after good. The price could be considered a bit high for the portion size, so I am a bit split on what rating to give. I will go for 4/5. Next, I got the ramen. This was a good experience for me, in part thanks to ordering extra pieces of yasai gyoza, which I enjoyed a lot. The broth itself was good, and the noodles were fine. Somehow, the bok choi part seemed too drained, if that is the word, and thus hard to eat. But the rest was just great. Considering the cost, it was still a 5/5 from me overall. Then, it was time for the ice cream. Coconut ice cream with coconut flakes and passion fruit sauce. This one I would like to try again, but I have noticed that the portion was way too small for the cost, despite the rarely seen/offered ingredients. There, I will have to go for 4/5 too. So, altogether, this Wagamama is a place I will keep coming back to (as a local). This visit gets 4/5 from me.

Tasty food, although we missed some flavor in one of the dishes we ordered; price-quality is good. Less cozy atmosphere due to 'refectory look'.

The food is pretty good with lots of options, you can choose between a light, rich and spicy broth on you Ramen. We did notice that the light was a bit flavorless and needed some extra spices. The atmosphere had a school lunch room feeling, which did take a bit away from the overall experience.

Pretty good place for a meal out with friends and family. The staff are so good. Our ordering process was an absolutely breeze and the server did a fantastic job of answering questions and getting our order in. The cocktails are a must. Fresh and generous. The gyoza we had was nice. The chicken katsu curry was nice with big portions. I myself didn’t like the hot sauce that came with it. The spice was good but flavour was a bit missing. Great place though, would happily go again.

Always a great dining experience! My wife and I test all the Wagamamas in Europe and this one doesn't stand out to us. We recommend the pork bao and katsu curry 🍛

Chill, safe choice for big portion comfort food, a lot of space

Food very tasty and good portion for a fair price. Starters were left out due to the expensive prices (€8 for a small bowl of edamame). It's a bit of a shame that the tables in the middle of the room don't have backrests. Unfortunately, our and other tables' food didn't arrive at the same time.

Our experience was very good ✨ We were greeted as soon as we entered the door with a smile, a very cozy place and great waitresses ☺️ In my case I ordered vegetable ramen 🍜 and they took into account that it could be vegan so there are a couple of ingredients (like the egg) that I might not want and the truth is that I am not but I really appreciate the detail and consideration . We ate three people, three dishes and drinks for around €70. The treatment and the food are ten, you are very full and everything was tasty. ☘️🌷

Wagamama op het Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam is een uitnodigend restaurant met een unieke sfeer. Het Aziatische concept biedt een divers menu met heerlijke gerechten. De parkeergelegenheid is gemakkelijk, wat het ideaal maakt voor een gezellige avond uit. Hoewel het personeel wellicht geen Nederlands spreekt, is hun vriendelijkheid merkbaar. Soms lijkt de bediening een beetje chaotisch, maar dit wordt ruimschoots goedgemaakt door het verrukkelijke eten dat wordt geserveerd. Een aanrader voor een smaakvolle en gezellige avond met vriendinnen.

The food is good, but it took too long to serve for just a few tables. Don't know how long it will be if the tables are full. The taste of food might not like original Japanese food but is still good enough. You can scan the qr code on the table to order and pay by card on the mobile phone.

Wagamama is one of my favorite restaurants in Europe! Always great tasting and fulfilling. Reasonable choice of noodles in in several styles of preparation and flavors. Main course with a glass of wine cost me 24 Euros, which I felt was extremely reasonable! Centraal Station location was so convenient!

Voor wat? Voor het zelf bestellen en zoeken? Aan mezelf dan maar? - dan het eten: beetje oude en opgewarmde bami. Echt slecht. - en tot slot de prijs: 58 eur voor een simpele lunch voor twee personen? Come in: dan is het toch logisch dat er amper nog iemand zit.

Déception pour ce wagamama qui semble être le parent pauvre de la version anglaise. J'étais habitué à une carte beaucoup plus étoffée. Trop d' attente pour être placée alors que personne n attendait devant nous. Point positif l équipe est très attentive à l hygiène du restaurant. Point très négatif : obligation de payer en CB
