Warung Noord in Noordelijke IJ-oevers Oost

Just ordered from here, the food was delicious! The order arrived very late, and without drinks. I called, and the delivery driver explained that the delivery driver occasionally (or quite often) makes a mistake, and that he would still bring my drink. Entertaining, delicious, but patience is required.

Just to be clear, this isn't a Surinamese restaurant, and there aren't any Surinamese people working in the kitchen, so it's unfortunately not authentic! It's a shame the Surinamese flag is misleading!

I just ordered bami with satay, and it was a real disappointment. The bami tasted like regular spaghetti fried in oil (no other flavors added), so it didn't taste even remotely like Surinamese bami. And the satay didn't come with satay sauce. It's a real shame.

My go to spot when I don't want to cook or have nothing in my fridge. The taste and quality are consistent, and I find it the best value for money of all the food places around. The place is take out only. The employes are fast and helpful.

Filthy place, the floor is incredibly sticky. I was already thinking, what am I doing here? Hygiene is non-existent. I tried the food anyway, but it's just as bad as the place itself. These guys are here for a different reason.

Please avoid these scammers, Ordered my food and waited forever because the food never got delivered. Got a response back saying the order was directly delivered by the merchant’s delivery service. Which is completely false and got scammed out of 25 euro with no food. Tried calling them but got no answer as no one picks up.

Ordered roti here for the first time. It was truly delicious. The only thing missing was the pepper, sour cream, and an egg. I realized afterward that I should have ordered those separately. That would have added another €3.50, which I think is a bit much. Otherwise, the roti is fantastic!

Got food here and it's inedible, the satay sauce isn't satay sauce at all, but melted peanut butter!!! And the cod is incredibly dry, and the cassava is dry too. It's a waste of money, unfortunately, and it gave me a terrible stomach ache.

We had to wait at least 75 minutes for our food. We ordered around 8:30. Not the busiest time of day, you might think. We waited over an hour, then called to ask where our food was. They said it would take another 15 minutes. After half an hour, we called again, and it finally took another 15 minutes for it to arrive. It was too cold to eat properly, so we had to heat it up ourselves. We did receive a few coupons for a future order, but still #disappointed

Ordered from them around 22:00. Waited for 2 and a half hours just to look on the site and see that my food has supposedly been delivered.. Delivered to who exactly???? I tried calling them in my 2 and a half hours of waiting and of course nobody answers their phone. Absolute scam and joke of a restaurant. I will file a complaint tomorrow as they put delivered on my order status to try and take my money without giving me my food. Truly shameless.. I really don’t understand how such a restaurant hasn’t gone bankrupt yet.

Food is great! Ordered twice via Thuisbezorgd, but picked up today. This was also the last time we picked up/ordered food there. The place itself really doesn't look good, not conducive to your appetite. Unhygienic ☹️. In addition, the owners don't seem to be connected to Suriname in any way (read: Indian/Pakistani). They don't speak Dutch.

Roti chicken ordered not tasty and tasteless

I am very disappointed about the quality of their food. This is not food what you should serve to customers. Is it so hard to cook good surinamese food? Please look for a new cook or close the restaurant, you would do a lot of people a great pleasure doing that. But so far is the conclusion: save your money and disappointment and order your food some where else. All the 4 or 5 star ratings are fake. Really nobody likes the food from Warung Noord. You'd rather die then eat their garbage what they sell to you as food.

Very bad place, rolls and rice are very tough and dry. Don't get it!!! No money refunded.

I was surprised by how delicious the food was. I had a roti roll and barra. Taste was perfect and I don't think it's expensive compared to other restaurants where I sometimes order food. The food was also delivered within 30 minutes. I know where I order my food these days!

Delivery took a long time, roti looked like soup, the sauce was super watery and there was a layer of oil on top. taste was very bland, not really tasty. The meat with the noodles was also very dry and pepper and pickles (which we paid extra for) were not even included Update: I tried them again and this time it was tasty, it took a long time for it to arrive but they indicated that it was busy so understandable

Always ordered here about twice a month because the food was really good for the price. I've had to wait 1.5 hours before, but today 2.15 hours!!! They didn't answer the phone, but I got a wake-up call at 12:30 a.m. asking them to ring the bell. Without explanation how and what. Unfortunately I will never order from here again.

Ordered delicious roti with lamb and hot chicken. The portions are generous. I was only missing an egg, but maybe I should have ordered it separately? The fried banana was a delicious dessert. I definitely recommend it.

Along Warung Noord at the end of King's Day. The men were still looking forward to it. My son got a free Capri Sun and the Roti Soya Chicken was nothing short of phenomenal. A large portion with an Asian spiciness to die for. Our gratitude is great.

To escape, really, if you want to live. Uncooked and sticky food. More than 2 hours of waiting and ultimately not even being able to eat. I don't even know how this is legal. Very bad experience as a tourist. Really trust me, RUN AWAY!!!!!!

Picked it up myself, kitchen did not look very clean, when asked what was in it, it was the only thing "the chef" said. Tofu, very little choice of vegetarian dishes. Tofu was not edible, the noodles were just spaghetti and tasteless. Has nothing to do with Surinamese or Indo food. Never order anything here again. But the boy who filled the containers was nice.

Ordered noodles satay. My noodles are swimming in Satay sauce, otherwise no taste/seasoning to the noodles themselves. Chicken is just loose chicken, not satay as we know it. Major disappointment, not to eat, and a grumpy person who delivered my food TOO LATE. Pfff no, once and not again. Shame on Surinamese cuisine.

Just ridiculous that they use the Surinamese name while they are Pakistanis. And a warung is always Javanese. These are absolutely not Surinamese Javanese. The food was so terribly gross. I ordered satay and it was just tandoori chicken fillet without chopsticks. With satay sauce poured on top. I'm really going to sue them. Because this is just absurd. I am Surinamese myself and this is NOT SURINAM FOOD!

Mega disgusting roti, we ordered 3 times. Very expensive for what you get and also not tasty, potatoes were not cooked enough and the sauce was watery and full of oil. There was also a layer of oil on top of the container. The roti plate was old and seemed to have been reheated in the microwave. Really don't order here people! It's really such a waste of money...

As a real gourmet of different cuisines, especially Surinamese cuisine, I know that the food is worthless. Delivery was lightning fast, but the food was really hopeless. Hire real Surinamese people or don't sell Surinamese food, but please don't fool people.

If you really want to eat Surinamese cuisine, you shouldn't go to Warung Noord... If you want to eat something that resembles Surinamese, you can go to Warung Noord... We thought the taste was very bland and had nothing to do with Surinamese cuisine, and there were no people behind the counter who came from the Surinamese area. I don't think the food is prepared there unless it is delivered by people of Indian or Pakistani origin... which for me is a characteristic that it is not Surinamese cuisine. It's also takeaway only, you can't sit there to eat..

Kwam binnen en de medewerker nam mijn bestelling. Heb bami kip sate besteld. De portie was groot. Eten was vers en heel smakelijk 10/10

Heard a lot about surinam food. Had to try this and must say I was so impressed. The flavours are so rich and the texture is great. I did a takeout and went with three different items on the menu and must say i enjoyed every bite. The portion sizes are big and the food is super fresh. Its an open kitchen and the food is cooked infront of you. And to top it all it’s Halal ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly recommended!

Eten werd op tijd bezorgd en was nog lekker warm. Had een witte rijst saté kip besteld die lekker goed gevuld was. Heb er van genoten. Als je via hun website besteld krijg je ook nog eens gratis drankje. Till next time!

Laat ik vooropstellen dat ik eerder beter heb gegeten bij Warung. Maar gisteren viel het echt tegen. Drie roti's besteld en thuis laten bezorgen waaronder Lam en kip en 2 bara. Het grootste deel was koud! Natuurlijk is het in een wip opgewarmd in de magnetron. Vervelende was dat niet alles goed gaar was: boontjes en aardappelen hadden langer moeten koken of bakken. Wel jammer, het kostte toch ruim 50 euro.

Vandaag hier besteld en heerlijk gegeten! Snelle bezorging en lekker warm. Aanrader!

We hadden gisteren bami hier besteld maar de bami was heel erg pittig en daar kan ik niet goed tegen. We hadden gebeld maar omdat ze al gesloten waren konden ze niks meer voor ons doen, daardoor moesten we de volgende dag terugbellen. Zo gedaan en hebben toen alsnog een hele nieuwe bestelling gekregen. Super begripvol en klantvriendelijk.

Warung Noord heeft op ons feestje voor 22 man het diner verzorgd. Alles werd in bakken tot in de keuken bezorgd. Zij hadden een goede inschatting gemaakt hoeveel er nodig was en iedereen vond het lekker en gaf complimenten.
