Delicious food beautiful location

Delicious salad. The restaurant is in a nice location by the water. Great service.

Service was friendly but inattentive. The food was overpriced and average at best. The portion size was okay, so it was a snack between meals, but they're supposed to be main courses. In short, the ambiance was very good, but the rest was terrible.

Waterfront is a cozy restaurant with friendly staff, but the quality of the food is simply not good. I've eaten here several times in recent years, but the chef seems incapable of preparing the food properly. Almost every dish on the menu could be made better by a simple home cook. The salmon salad is bitter and served too warm. The pre-cooked satay is lukewarm, and even the fries are of very poor quality. These are entry-level dishes that are truly easy to prepare. Buy better and taste your own food. With a few minor adjustments, a big improvement in quality can be made here.

Great location for a birthday party or drinks in good weather. It's just a shame that people smoke on the patio and the service is a bit late for your next drink.

Beautiful location on the water. Price-quality ratio was way out of whack. The chicken was dry, the homemade applesauce tasted like apple juice, the corn on the cob was dry and tough, and the baby potatoes turned out to be potato wedges. The food was lukewarm and expensive. It's a shame, because the location is fantastic.

Nice spot by the water, but the kitchen doesn't handle busy summer evenings well. We waited an hour and a half for our main course, with no updates in between unless we asked. The staff was friendly but not very accommodating, and no apologies were offered. I would definitely recommend this place for quieter days.

Nice place by the water for a simple snack

The food wasn't great. I ordered the sirloin steak medium-rare but received it medium-well. The steak, like my wife's satay, was served lukewarm, almost cold. A cold sirloin steak becomes tough and isn't tasty. The chimichurri on the sirloin steak was very good, though. Therefore, 3 stars instead of 2. Dessert: Three people ordered coffee with liqueur, and the fourth a cheesecake, which didn't arrive until all the coffee and liqueur had been gone for quite some time. The reason given was that the coffee was ready earlier... Why wouldn't they bring it a bit later, along with the cheesecake, if the coffee was ready so quickly? Some of the staff didn't seem particularly interested. Some enjoy their work, while others seemed eager to get home as quickly as possible. The place is otherwise very nice. The seating is great, but I'd rather go elsewhere for dinner.

July 19, 2025: Lovely cozy little place by a beautiful lake where you can relax and enjoy a good lunch after a bike ride. I had tomato soup with a 12-hour snack. It tasted perfect, except for the bruschetta (the bread was way too hard). Great service. And a perfect view outside on the terrace.

The menu has some fancy names, but in reality, it's nothing special and terribly overpriced for what you get. Salmon tartare is canned salmon instead of fresh salmon, topped with a frozen croquette. They put so much herbs and sauce on the tuna dish that you can't even taste the tuna. A positive aspect is the friendly staff.

Today I went back after years, and it was a bit disappointing, so no tip. We'd just had a drink and put ours out of the sun. And sure enough: "What would you like to drink?" 2 I'm still sitting there with my almost empty glass to my mouth, wondering what else I'd like to drink. I was planning on having something else with a bitterbal, but I left.

Waterfront,....right across from Voorschoten on the other side of the Vliet.....but strangely enough part of Leidschendam which is 3 km away... A beautiful location on Vlietland, a water-rich area with beaches, water sports, a climbing island and therefore also the catering of "Waterfront". You can sit here wonderfully, enjoy the view and activity on the water. Perfect for a lunch and there is also an extensive lunch menu available. From a simple "two croquettes with bread" lunch to a "tasting" composed by the chef. Absolutely recommended and they do their best to present the dishes nicely. Service is friendly and alert. Definitely worth a visit...

This restaurant which is located right on the beach offers a surprisingly good food and at fair price. Service is a bit slow but the atmosphere is fantastic especially if you are lucky and have good weather.

There was hardly any salmon on the "wrap with salmon" and incredibly bland. Of course incredibly expensive, because what do you expect?

We were looking for a quick and affordable dinner near the freeway and we found it here, with a marvellous view! Really nice waterfront seating (pun intended), good selection of drinks, and a somewhat limited but more than fine dinner menu. Just some fries and animal protein, well prepared and tasty, but could have used more veggies. I only got a tiny amount of coleslaw with my chicken skewers, and the coleslaw did not impress. Nevertheless, value for money was great and staff was friendly and in a good mood. The latter is quite hard to find at these huge and busy kind of restaurants near beaches or lakes, so kudos for this place.

It couldn't be spoiled by the lovely weather we had. Nicely sat by the water for a delicious lunch with my sisters. Very friendly service.

Great place for a quick drink or a full meal. Outside seating was good. Ordered the vegetarian beet burger and was pleasantly surprised. Service could have been a little better, but overall, it was good. I would recommend it.

Ambiente is excellent, as long as no hedonist juveniles or twens walk or boat around with their boom boxes and get on everybody's nerves. Superb cakes!!!!!

We ordered spareribs, which turned out to be lukewarm, the taste was delicious. They were reheated, the plates too and we got new fries and salad with it, all in all a neat solution!

Bad experience, salmon tartare with 1 lobster bitterbal, food was cold and the bitterbal was ice cold inside. It was a mini dish with so-called avocado, I saw a drop of green in the middle. Unfortunately I had not read the reviews beforehand, so I hope others will! A drink is ok, little can go wrong with that after all. I don't think it would be nice to work here as a waiter!

Great atmosphere, beautiful on the water. You can get a beer and wine there. Please don't order food. Now given a chance for the third time. Was worthless again. But you are in the perfect place with a beer in the sun.

Very nice restaurant on the water with a tasty menu and friendly staff. Very nice relaxed atmosphere. Also possible to rent a sloop, pedal boat, canoe and sailing boat. Recommended.

Super bad, Mother's Day is completely fucked. Had to wait an hour for our food, asked 4 times where it was, no one bothered to inquire with the kitchen and give us feedback. Then the food arrived, 1 big shame... everything was cold, bread looked like cardboard, etc.. we got the idea that our food had been in the kitchen for 45 minutes!!! Bad staff, too few staff, they don't understand it at all!!! We walked out, the manager was some young student. He apologized with tears in his eyes. In short, don't eat... especially not on nice days!!

I always came here for the fries. Fresh and well baked. Now unfortunately switched to frozen fries, but still 6 euros. Too bad, because this makes me less likely to go there in the low season.

My husband and I had the tasting for 16.50 pp. What a disappointment: half a slice of bread per person with some kind of ham on it, half a wrap with salmon, a square block with egg and feta And a bowl of fries that had to be returned three times because it was cold. It's really scandalous that they dare to put this down for the money. To top it all off, we both had huge stomach cramps so something wasn't right either.

A decent restaurant, service was very slow despite it not being that busy from what i could see. 30+ minutes until we got our order taken. We could at least still order from the lunch menu at 15:50 but the bread i got really looked like the last scraps of the day. But other than that nice place near the water and outside seating. The food we had tasted good.

Cozy with nice weather. Enough activities for young and old. Enough place to sit. Tasty simple food and good cocktails. Service is friendly.

Drink good, soup watery taste good. Hamburger, the bun was burnt. Passed on but did not receive a discount, it was not worth the € 20.00.

Pleasant early dinnering by the water. Food was good quality on the whole. Seared Tuna was great.

Mixed vegetarian and meat options when serving. On reporting the problem waitress just said “hellemal goed” and walked away. If this had been an allergy problem then they would have their procedures reviewed and possible fines. Disappointed with the reaction from the staff and perhaps management need to step in.

Had a nice lunch with a group of 15 people on the terrace in the sun. Excellent menu with a wide choice. The salmon wrap was delicious! First we walked around the Vlietlanden which took 1.5 hours. Plenty to see and beautiful nature. Fortunately, paths were dry. Definitely recommended.

Enjoyed the beautiful location and a great lunch meal. Our party also included a wheelchair and we were given a suitable table. Minus: Unfortunately, access to the restaurant is less wheelchair friendly due to tight bends and doors.

Always a nice place on a summer day, the food is excellent, so is the service and you determine the atmosphere yourself. It can be busy, so call ahead if the weather is nice. And the prices are certainly not exaggerated. But now, February 21, 2025, this is finally beautiful weather; it was quiet and adequately staffed. Unfortunately, the first encounter with "the service" was miserable, borderline grumpy. But that does not apply to the other employees. The bouncer was unfortunately of the bare variety; 3 fried eggs on excellent bread but nothing else. Shame. On the other hand, my table companion had an excellent lunch. In short, my rating goes down, but of course it remains a beautiful location.

Great campsite, nice and helpful staff. Cycling, hiking or going into the lake with or without a boat directly from the campsite. Restoration is recommended as it is always full... We'll be back...

It's a shame that old staff are gone and that owners are not in the Netherlands to see how the current staff (on Sunday mornings) interprets service and hospitality. From five stars to 1 star.

The restaurant is situated along and extended into the Vlietland lake, with a magnificent view over the water and sailing boats. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful sunset on the terrace. The portion of food is small but of high-quality.

Enjoy yourself on a Friday afternoon! The fire was turned on, a drink was added and some tasty treats (tempura shrimp and a delicious bagel with carpaccio) were served in a super friendly manner. Also a thank you on behalf of the dog for the cookies 🍪 See you next time!

You can do a round of Vlietlanden with the 🐕 (the dog is allowed to run free between October 1 and April 1). Park at P de Gele Lis and then immediately turn left. Then it will take about 1.5 hours and then you can have something to eat or drink at the restaurant. Outside when the weather is nice (I haven't been inside).

Beautifully situated on the lake. You feel like you're abroad. When the weather is nice there is a large terrace, when it is cold you can sit inside in large rooms.

Food is tasty, the tenderloin is very small for what you pay. And you can't get a carafe of tap water with your wine, only a bottle of water. Really out of date!

Nice location. Reception was poor. I didn't feel welcome. Ate on the terrace. Stew with fries. A meager amount was served and the portion sizes were also clearly different. Indicated at the service and the answer was given: "This is the usual amount". For the price, the quantity was substandard and apparently there is also a double standard.

The service is friendly but not attentive, the food is ok and relatively expensive - nothing more. Only the location is great and quiet even though the highway is not far away.

Location top, service mediocre (brought wine with the food late, forgot the requested olive oil, the girl who took the order was visibly impatient) and unfortunately the food was prepared without love. Tomato risotto overcooked and tasteless and the watermelon carpaccio with feta... just bland white cheese and certainly no feta (!) and there was no dressing but just some loose lettuce leaves and raw samphire. Also missing a crisp (roasted pistachio nut or something). When the requested olive oil arrived, it was also of poor quality. Too bad because before COVID we ate here more often and it was really much better.

Unfortunately disappointing, the rolls are overcooked and the salad is too simple, otherwise the staff is friendly and the location is wonderful, but the food could be much better.

Ordered food and drinks here yesterday, but what a disappointment this was. I wanted a Radler 2.0, but it was no longer available, even though it was still listed on the board. (He forgot to take it away.) My order: * Large fries with * Frikandel special * Cheese soufflé After waiting more than 30 minutes I received my order and there was no cheese soufflé. He forgot to throw it in 😡😡😡 (but didn't forget to charge him. 🤪) The gentleman still wanted to throw it in, but I thought waiting 30 minutes was enough. Plus, when I got my cheese soufflé, the rest would be cold. The fries and the frikadel were tasty.

Had a delicious gluten-free lunch, house specialty, different dishes, flavors were really special and well matched.

Only had a drink, but what a lovely place, it was a very hot day (32 degrees) but a large extensive terrace, where there are many shady spots. Lots of waiting staff. Highly recommended!

Wonderful place to relax after a long bike ride

In the evening after cycling we stopped by to have a drink on the terrace, which was completely full, we were still able to take a seat on "the island" where you can order drinks using a QR code. There was 1 young lad running around in front of the service, very nice but clearly couldn't handle it on his own. All tables were full of dirty dishes, unfortunately everything fell on the floor, making a messy impression. I threw my full cup of coffee over my bare legs and dress, stupid of course, but the gentleman behind the bar immediately let me know that a new coffee was at my own expense. Could use a piece of kitchen roll ;)

Relax with a private BBQ after the Nijmegen 4-day event

We visited with our work department. A buffet was organised. The food was pretty good as well as the service. The restaurant is situated nicely at the water as the name suggests.

Had a nice meal here on staff day with an extensive and delicious buffet. Beautiful view of the water and nice seating areas....also outside in a tent.

Was here for a work function (party of 12). The service was good, the food was exceptional, and the atmosphere was lovely. Cocktails were a very reasonable price and were delicious.

Had to wait too long for a drink, got a broken glass, a new one would be brought (I'm still waiting), a lot of nuisance birds, despite the lousy service, the food is excellent, the quantity and price are more in proportion and you can see that not often anymore!
