Tonight we ate at the blue camera for the 2nd time. Both times we enjoyed it very much. It is like eating at a star restaurant but without pretension. The food is delicious. Each dish is a little work of art, the wines are fantastic and the service is very hospitable. Gluten-free and cow's milk intolerances or other wishes; no problem! And then the best part; it just feels very relaxed and informal.

After a lot of positive feedback, I also reserved a table and ordered a 5-course dinner. High expectations, but unfortunately not met. After a delicious amuse of cheese puff with honey, the courses followed each other, with a nice cheese board as a consolation prize. I have the idea that the chef has lost his way a bit; serving a papadew with a piece of (too black roasted) beef with truffle sauce? Spring rolls are nice, but not in a renowned restaurant, even if you add a (by the way good tasting) curry foam. And a black tortilla is fine, but a black burnt tortilla does not stay tasty, even if the filling is tasty... Fine wines, delicious sweet dessert, also the Pieterman in crab sauce was delicious according to the user. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I really think the kitchen should make better choices.

Super!! Eten is echt heerlijk en altijd een verassende factor! Enorm leuk hoe ze eten uit de eigen tuin gebruiken en dut verwerken in de gerechten! Of het nou winter is of zomer, heerlijke sfeer. In de winter knus binnen, en in de zomer fantastisch naast de wijngaarden. Personeel is mega vriendelijk en kunnen leuke verhaaltjes vertellen bij de gerechten en bijpassende wijnen. Zeeeker een aanrader!!

Een bezoek gebracht aan deze gelegenheid, waar we al best wat goede recensies over vernomen hadden. De locatie en inrichting is idyllisch en stijlvol , dat waren wat ons betreft de 2 hoogtepunten. Over het menu dient eerlijkheidshalve ook gezegd te worden dat deze zorgvuldig was samengesteld met prima gerechten. Maar wat vanuit hygiënisch oogpunt echt not done is in een restaurant, zeker met open keuken, is de aanwezigheid van een hond. De hond behoorde bij de gelegenheid zelf, liep doodleuk de keuken in en uit en werd tussentijds steeds aangehaald door het personeel. De trui van de bediening zat vol met hondenharen en met een bovenhandse draagmethode serveerde zij de borden tegen haar trui aan aan de tafels. De hondenmand stond ook circa 2 meter van de keuken verwijderd, waar volop eten werd voorbereid. Tot slot werd ik besprongen door de hond terwijl ik naar de kassa liep om af te rekenen. Daardoor had ik een paar vuile poot afdrukken op een smetteloze nette broek. De bediening lachte alsof het de normaalste zaak van de wereld was zonder enig excuus. Al met al heeft ons dit een dusdanig ervaring gegeven dat we hier niet meer terug zullen keren, hier ook graag anderen op willen attenderen en hopelijk ook De Blauwe Camer zelf tot inzicht brengen dat dit verre van kwalitatief en Michelin waardig is.

What a wonderful restaurant. Very nice location, both outside and inside. All dishes were tasty and beautifully presented. We were well served by a top team of enthusiastic people. Don't overdo it, just have fun with passion. Unfortunately not around the corner for us, but certainly worth the drive. We will definitely come back here!

De 1ste 2 gerechten waren heerlijk, daarna werd alles zouter en zouter. Ook de wrap was niet smakelijk.het ijs was zelfs te zout. Jammer ben er eerder geweest en toen was het voortreffelijk. Navraag gedaan bijzondere collega's en die vonden het ook heel erg zout. Dit is bedoeld als opbouwende kritiek want ik vind het nog steeds dat jullie lekkere, speciale gerechten maken. Maar deze keer was het toch niet wat ik er van verwacht had.

We hebben meer dan fantastisch geluncht op 13-2-2025 om mijn verjaardag te vieren. Het was heerlijk, zo creatief en verfijnd. Top! En super bediening! We gaan zeker weer terug. Tip: het signature menu icm een wijnarrangement!

We hebben een hele gezellige middag gehad. Prachtig gebouw; authentiek en toch modern en smaakvol ingericht in een mooie, groene omgeving. We werden heerlijk verwend met een 4-gangen dineer en een mooie rode huiswijn. De witte was iets minder van smaak, maar dat is persoonlijk. Waar het allemaal over eens waren: de gerechten waren bijzonder en heel goed, maar helaas met véél te veel zout bereid. De smaken zouden o.i. een stuk beter tot hun recht komen met minder zout. Vandaar geen 5, maar een 4 als resultaat.

Restaurant De Blauwe Camer had been on my list for a while, and we went to eat there for the first time with high expectations. I was advised in advance by acquaintances to adjust those expectations slightly, and afterwards I understand why. Although the atmosphere was pleasant and the intention of the restaurant seems good, I felt that the dishes did not quite match what I expected. The dishes we received were mainly Asian oriented, which in my opinion did not fit in well with the appearance of the restaurant. Classic seasonal dishes would be better served in such a setting. Some dishes were also a bit too refined, with extra elements that didn't really seem necessary. Unfortunately, the dessert was a bit disappointing, with a combination of flavors that did not go well together and a fairly hard biscuit base that was difficult to eat. The wines, especially the red, were excellent and paired nicely with the dishes. The service is okay, but serving between courses takes a long time. We sat at the table for almost 5 hours for a 4-course dinner. We certainly had a nice evening, but I don't know if I would eat there again anytime soon.

Delicious lunch with great service! Had the seasonal two course menu and it was definitely worth the price! It even felt like we had more courses because of the bread and coffee and sweets that we had afterwards. It looked beautiful inside and outside with the vines and sand sculptures too! We were able to sit outside on the terrace, which was lovely, but I expected a little more due to the beautiful surroundings. All in all, definitely recommended and will hopefully visit again soon.

De wijnen waren toepasselijk en goed van smaak. Erg vriendelijke bediening. We zaten deze keer buiten en keken tegen de wijnranken aan. Kortom, een echte aanrader als je een keer lekker wilt eten!

Alleerst de locatie. Wat een rustgevende locatie. Even ontsnappen aan de drukte, de haast en het beton. We konden buiten zitten. Dat is tegen de wijnranken aan met op de achtergrond de prachtige gebouwen van het klooster. Gezellige tafel voor 6 en fatsoenlijke zittende stoelen. Het eten. Verrassend, prachtige kleurschakeringen/opmaak, en heerlijk. Wij hadden het 5-gangen diner en dat was oprecht een verwennerij van smaken en gerechtjes. Geen muizenhapjes gelukkig, maar porties voldoende om wat langer van de smaak te kunnen genieten en klein genoeg om de 5-gangen te vervolmaken. Kortom, zeer de moeite waard. De service. Precies zoals wij dat fijn vindt. Attent en vriendelijk, maar niet afstandelijk zoals je betere restaurants ook aan kunt treffen. Maakt de beleving compleet

Evenals bij vorige bezoeken was ook ditmaal alles top: ambiance, eten, drinken en bediening. Gelet op de hoge kwaliteit van het gebodene zijn de prijzen hier relatief laag te noemen. Het prachtige zomerweer zorgde ervoor dat mijn bezoek kon wedijveren met vakantiediners in zuidelijke landen. De vijfgangen maaltijd blijkt een verrassende serie van originele en smakelijke gerechtjes, waarbij elke gang 'een plaatje' is. Glossy magazines zouden blij gemaakt kunnen worden met afbeeldingen van deze kleurrijke composities. Neem voor een maaltijd in deze bijzondere ambiance - net als in zuidelijke landen - voldoende tijd om te genieten. Wie voor fastfood komt moet echt naar elders gaan. Gelukkig regeert hier 'zen'.

Op onze vraag of wij ook koffie konden drink, werd er kort en “nuffig “ gereageerd met : nee dat kan niet want we zitten vol voor de lunch! Dat het tegen 15.00 uur was en er al mensen vertrokken. Knap ongastvrij😟

Had lunch with a small group more than a week ago. Atmosphere and decor were sublime. Reception fairly strict with a sign along the lines of "wait here until you are assigned a place". For lunch there is actually only a choice of a two- or multi-course menu, the composition of which offers no further choice. My request whether the sea bass cevice could be replaced by an eel dish from the drinks menu could not be met, only steak tartare turned out to be possible. When asked if an extra sandwich could be served, the answer was "but there is still something on the table" (three slices!!; while the starter had yet to arrive) Silently, a bread roll was later served (€5.00 without further garnish) Apart from the absurdly minimal portioning, the taste of the starters was good, apart from the flower garden on the plate, which only tasted like flowers. The serving of the main course was preceded by a disturbing and lengthy explanation by listing the 18 (??) ingredients that made it up, with a sauce that had been simmering for 12 hours. The result was a kind of thick grainy mush consisting of a multitude of small vegetable cubes, rice, mixed with the reduced sauce, on which lay a very small piece of pork cheek in the middle of yet another flower garden. In short, a fair of flavors on a plate, the ingredients of which were unrecognizable. The taste was not without merit, but the whole thing tends towards absurdist hobbyism. In my opinion, the really good and great chefs are characterized by creating sublime combinations of just a few ingredients that work together in complete harmony. Given the somewhat arrogant service, the very limited choice, the small portions and the high prices charged, I will limit my visit to "the Blue Room" to this one time.

Great, we didn't make a reservation, but we still got a nice spot (make a reservation from now on). Parking between the trees of the lane. Beautiful serene space, wonderfully spontaneous ladies, nice chef, everything was right, everything was perfect, recommended brioche with warm eel, melted on the tongue, great wine Pinot Gris 2022, from the nuns, we enjoyed the two-course lunch menu. What a treat to have lunch here. The Madeleines with the coffee go into the oven when the coffee has been ordered, a delicious ending. An absolute must. We will definitely come for dinner sometime.

Earlier this month we got married in Oosterhout and subsequently had lunch with a group of 18 people at De Blauwe Camer. Very beautiful and unique location with great service and delicious food. And then of course the good-tasting locally produced wines. In any case, we had a fantastic afternoon and recommend everyone to eat here.

Very nice location. Food also very tasty, but unfortunately 3 out of four of our party had stomach problems that night. Coincidentally, a day later I heard exactly the same experience from other visitors. I reported this neatly to Tessa, the owner, by telephone. However, except for improvement, nothing is done! It is a really beautiful place and the food is also tasty, but apparently not sufficiently coordinated. I also informed the chef at the table that there were quite a lot of flavors to incorporate into the main course. Really a point of attention to give good reviews a place. Sorry, but this is also part of it! De Volkskrant previously wrote: “De Blauwe Camer in Oosterhout is beautiful, but the dishes occasionally go off the rails.” That is exactly what we experienced.

Very good food, surprising combinations! Also surprising was the bill that included 11 bob glasses of wine, while we had 1 person in our party who had a Bob package with a 4-course menu. Upon inquiry it turned out that the 7 extra Bob glasses were charged because they had added wine (unsolicited). We thought this was thoughtful at the time, not knowing that they were adding this to the bill. Very strange action!

Had lunch with a friend of mine for the first time, 4 course menu with matching wines was delicious! The food was very good and what was nice was that they had taken elements from Icelandic culture as inspiration for the menu from the holiday they had in Iceland. The wines that were served were also a sublime combination. The service was very good, the hostesses spoiled us with the dishes and the extremely good service. This is a superior restaurant, everything exudes class and love for cooking and caring for guests. The food (6 courses) was delicious, and the matching Big Oak red wine was mouth-watering. In short, a sublime restaurant for a delicious meal.

The menu is a culinary journey concocted by a talented chef. From appetizers to dessert, all the dishes are inventive and of high quality. Beautiful location. Unfortunately, we were received with a reprimand about the reservation, although we were not aware of any harm done and even had telephone contact about this earlier that day. As for dinner: We do not experience sufficient precision both on the plates and in the service, which does not justify the price-quality ratio. The appearance is better than the taste experience. The coffee here literally has the price of black gold.(€€€€€) This is allowed if the coffee has a high flavor and is of good quality. For this restaurant I fear that they have an expensive machine, but not the control to get good coffee out of it. We won't be going back here again.

All nice reviews. Unfortunately I can't talk about it. All the way from Tilburg by bike and we were not welcome. The website states that we are welcome, the opening hours indicated until 8 p.m. But even though we wanted to come and enjoy a glass of wine at 4 p.m., they were too busy preparing for dinner. There was only one table occupied... so there was no hospitality today. Too bad!

Kloosterwinkel only has a retail function. So you cannot eat or drink there. This is possible in the restaurant opposite the shop. There is a range of wines produced in the own vineyards, supplemented with a somewhat opaque range of beer, cheese, sweets, books, cards, candles, etc.

A very unwelcoming welcome, upon arrival I was immediately reprimanded because, according to the lady at the desk, I had made a reservation twice and that was really not the intention. We were with friends and were pampered at this special and beautiful location (restaurant is located on the domain of the sisters of the St. Catherine Valley, between the vineyard, herb and vegetable garden) and it was really delicious and will certainly be repeated. susceptible. Choose from 3, 4 or 5 course dinner and be surprised. You will be asked about allergies and preferences. It was absolutely not disappointing. Not a single point of criticism. Service is top notch, food is also natural, with ingredients from our own garden. Quality comparable to 1 Michelin star. And don't forget the excellent local wine. I opted for rosé: delicious! A surprise that such wine is produced in North Brabant.

What a pleasure to have a drink, dinner or lunch here. The passion with which the dishes are made, the wines served (some from our own vineyard), the location, it is an experience to experience. I would recommend it to anyone and while you are there, you can also buy the wines from the vineyard in the monastery shop and support the maintenance of the listed buildings on the monastery estate.

Unfortunately not customer friendly in such a beautiful location. Immediately upon arrival it was formally indicated that we could only stay for half an hour.... not hospitable.... after 10 minutes the order was taken. Drinks were fine, spicy for the price.
