We had a wonderful evening here. The welcome was good and we were assigned a nice table. The first wine arrived soon after with an amuse-bouche, which was very good. We knew then that this was going to be a lovely evening. The service was superb; we received a lot of explanation about the wines and the dishes. The food was very tasty and the wines were good too. They really take their time; nothing is rushed. All in all, this made for a truly wonderful evening!

On October 25, I ate a 5-course menu. Very little was right: duck rillette with a lot of undercooked red cabbage, pork belly downright nauseating due to its "muddy" texture, ravioli was undercooked, the cod (which was tasty in itself) was accompanied by far too much and hard kale, and the panna cotta had a strange texture. One person does not eat cheese. I indicated this beforehand but still received cheese on his dish. Sorry, sorry again. The staff were far too busy, but still tried to make amends with a free drink. Not a pleasant evening this way. The wine, by the way, was delicious, as were the non-alcoholic cocktails, and the coffee was good. Postscript: after my review, the restaurant contacted me and served a free menu for 2 people to make amends. This time we had a nice meal and a pleasant experience.

A beautiful restaurant where you receive a true surprise behind the front door. The dishes are local, and special ingredients are used. The greenhouse inside the restaurant looks very romantic. The flowers are meant to be placed on the food. That made the whole experience extra special. We came with a large group for my mother's birthday and sat in the conservatory. A congratulatory card made the welcome complete. We chose the chef's specialty: highly recommended. It was an evening full of culinary delights, and we were surprised that this restaurant does not have a Michelin star. Tip: opt for a mocktail. It makes the celebration complete.

We had a wonderful meal with unique dishes, beautifully presented. The atmosphere and hospitality were sublime. The menu isn't extensive and is a bit pricey, but the dishes certainly feel like you've stepped into a Michelin-starred restaurant. A good selection of wines is well-explained. The decor is pleasant. Not recommended for big eaters. The beautifully presented dishes are limited in size and can't be supplemented with, say, a small bowl of fries. It is, however, a must-try for gourmets. Clean restrooms and an outdoor terrace in the summer. In short, it's highly recommended for a pleasant evening of lavish dining, but don't expect to leave with an overfull stomach.

After two excellent meals at this charming restaurant, we made a reservation for Boxing Day. The dishes were delicious again, but the quantity per course was minimal (too little) for a price that was considerably higher than usual. We didn't go home feeling satisfied this time.

While I normally feel a bit pathetic about the choices, this is a Valhalla of original dishes. This afternoon we enjoyed a three-course surprise lunch with matching wines. Both the dishes, including the amuse-bouches, were truly surprising, and the wines were exquisite and perfectly matched. The chef and sommelier were very friendly and knowledgeable, and very hospitable. Keep up the good work, and a Bib Gourmand (the quality far exceeded the price!) and a mention in the Gault Millau are inevitable. We'll be back soon to be surprised again. Thanks also for letting us recharge our bike batteries!

Was met mijn zus op zoek naar een plek voor een (zeer) late lunch en zijn via via bij "In de achtertuin" terecht gekomen. Na aankomst bleek alleen dat het restaurant tussen 15:00 en 18:00 gesloten is, om voor te kunnen bereiden op de diner gasten. Toch mochten we aanschuiven, want de kok was al ver in zijn voorbereiding. Zulke dingen kan ik erg waarderen en was dus al meteen fan van dit etablissement. We hebben gekozen voor de 2 gangen lunch (plus koffie met zoetigheden). Dit was een schot in de roos, want we kregen er een nog een EXTRA gang bij! Heb ik al gezegd dat ik fan was van deze zaak? Het eten was fantastisch (zie foto's), het restaurant is mooi groen ingericht en het personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Kortom: ik kom zeker nog eens terug om het diner uit te proberen.

Last week we had a great meal and were very well received at the back room. Friendly staff and a real night out where you are well taken care of. That together with a great atmosphere an absolute must for a night out. We took the extensive menu of 6 courses incl wine arrangement and it was all delicious.

My partner still had to pay after she was unable to show up due to cancellation (illness) (group of 20 people). Annoying for a restaurant owner, but to still charge those costs with such a large group..

Sat in the ‘back’ garden with a very relaxed atmosphere. The service was incredibly friendly and the food looked beautifully presented and tasted very good. Had a nice lunch. We had to wait 40 minutes for it, but it was worth it and because of the atmosphere that was not bad at all. Really a nice place and recommended.

Last Saturday, June 7, 2025, lunched in the Achtertuin in a beautiful ambiance. Nice relaxed atmosphere and service but above all delicious vegetarian food. I was very happy and will definitely come back.

Had dinner with friends tonight. 4-course menu with bob wine arrangement. Dishes were tasty. At first glance sometimes a bit small, but we left the table very satisfied. It was really enough. Service was friendly and very helpful. In short, just a good restaurant and we had a nice evening.

Met grote verwachtingen een verrassing 4 gangen menu. De zalmtataar was niet echt bijzondere de asperges met risottorijst jammer deze was niet gaar. En de diamantjes zonder steekmessen doet taai aan dessert was wel weer top. Alles bijelkaar was de verwachting te hoog en was, en werd niet geheel waargemaakt.

When we indicated that we were actually looking for a smaller meal than the extensive food on the menu, the chef, Eugene, made a custom dish especially for us. What a beautiful thing! Really surprising. Very atmospheric and extremely friendly staff. However, the dishes were hit and miss. Some dishes were delicious and tasty, but some were also bland, dull and dry. Some of our party's dishes were so small that it was actually unacceptable. 2 dishes (we were early and the menu is already small) were sold out. The toilet area could also definitely be cleaner. Quite a hangover if you want to spoil a group of loved ones in a nice restaurant, but everyone leaves relatively unsatisfied. Price/quality is not in proportion for us, €600.00 for 7 adults/2 children, 3 courses with some drinks.

Hier gaan eten n.a.v. de referenties maar viel erg tegen. Je krijgt in eerste instantie bij de menukaart geen hoofdgerechten te zien omdat ze de voorkeur hebben dat je het 3/4 of 5 gangen menu kiest wat ze aanbieden. Uiteindelijk de avond kaart gekregen vooraf carpaccio besteld. Nog nooit warme carpaccio met warme spinazie geserveerd gekregen! Hoofdgerecht entrecote was lekker. Bediening wel vriendelijk maar voor ons nooit meer!

Nice restaurant in the center of Oosterhout, they have a very nice patio garden where you can sit, friendly staff and good service. There was only a very bad smell and when we asked, this probably came from the neighbors' waste containers. We were allowed to sit on the other side of the terrace and it didn't bother us.

I have been here before for a dinner in the winter where the restaurant already looked like a green plant mecca. The website makes this restaurant even more attractive! Had dinner for the second time yesterday with my fiancé. The backyard is more than you expect from a backyard: A gem for the eye, the service is attentive, cheerful, extremely hospitable and the food is fresh, good and tasty beyond expectations. We had a 4 course plus wine arrangement, live music and even got to sing together. For us personally, this made the evening a great success and we would love to come again for dinner. Mijn verjaardag gevierd, en de plaats was een grote aangename verrassing. Mooie met liefde gemaakte gerechtjes van het menu en lekkere bijpassende wijnen. We zaten in de tuin, wat bijdroeg aan de feestvreugde. De meiden van de bediening waren snel, vriendelijk en kundig. We gaan er snel nog een keer heen!

An evening full of wonderful surprises! First the restaurant itself: very tastefully decorated! Someone really thought about this... Ge-wel-dig! Wij waren met zn zevenen vanaf ons vakantieadres in In De Achtertuin afgelopen vrijdag, 7 juni. We vonden het alle zeven helemaal geweldig. De service van de bediening en de smaak van het eten en de opgemaakte borden waren uitmuntend. Zelden van elk gerecht zo genoten. De sfeer zowel binnen als buiten is heel erg goed. De bediening werkte goed samen en waren heel flexibel met onze wensen. Toen we vroegen een extraatje te maken voor jarige moeder, werd er meteen actie ondernomen. Een grote aanrader!

Mooie entourage! Latte vanille en caramel waren heerlijk! Bij naar buiten gaan hoorden we pas dat jullie ook gebak hebben. Dat hadden we graag op de kaart teruggezien. Heerlijke bank om lekker cozy op te zitten!

While looking for a restaurant we knew, we ended up here for dinner for two. At first we thought we had the wrong address because you first have to walk through a hairdressing salon. Behind it you enter a beautiful green shop. We enjoyed the fresh and original dishes. The facility lives up to its name. The 3-4 or 5 course menu without choice seemed a bit limited to us. The dessert was not to my taste. Then I got another dessert which was completely fine.

We had made a reservation for 10 people, 3 small children/7 adults 'at 6 o'clock'. Around 10 past 7 we got the fries for the children, who eventually ran out of patience.... We got our food at HALF 8, and we were done at 5 past 8... This was because of the lousy ' amount of food on your plate. A head of cauliflower with sauce that you have to look for for 27.50?! & Cold served entrecote for 27.50?! And no; the young waitresses cannot do much about this, but they are simply inexperienced 'you notice that when asking questions/wishes from the customer'. Unfortunately, you see this phenomenon in many catering establishments. Great for an appetizer or a snack board with your wine or beer. But nothing more.

It's surprising that this restaurant is not fully booked, because it is certainly one of the best restaurants in Oosterhout.
